"Finally, something closer to my specialty," the marksman uttered, taking aim and firing through the opening at a distant husk without missing a beat when he'd realized it, rubbing the side of his head with his other hand -- whether from the shock of being forced back like the others or just a migraine from Severa, whom he began following with a resigned sigh. To that end...

"Don't get cocky, kid. You didn't even hit anything," he grunted, though he knew if he was gonna get any deeper in arguing with this kid, he'd have already lost. "Lemme show you real shooting, Tex," Deadshot continued, before swiftly shooting at the husks three times, and like clockwork, exactly three fell down, smoke flowing out of the muzzle almost triumphantly, as though he was really proud to show up the younger girl.

Guess he did have his petty moments.

"You are a credit to the team, Miss Severa. It is good to have you around," Riesbyfe said in utter contrast, though who could say how much of it was to deliberately spite the marksman, and how much of it she truly meant. Probably 50/50.

"Guwagh?!" Touma choked out as the unknown boy's tentacle suddenly appeared and grabbed him, the spiky-haired boy's legs dangling helplessly as he was unable to resist, his attention fixed to attempt to get the other strange humanoid figure away from Chise, though it seemed to prove to be his own downfall.

Still, never losing heart, the boy gritted his teeth and looked at the boy. "Hunting people like wild animals for the fun of it...?! You're sick!" He exclaimed, attempting to pry himself free to no avail.

While Titus moved to free Foo Fighters from the tentacle's grasp, Alisha dashed to do the same for Touma all the while, still clutching her spear gallantly. "Just try to hold still! I'll get you out of here!" She exclaimed, attempting to reassure him.

Sparrow Jive!

With that, she swiftly spun her entire spear in a circular motion like a buzzsaw, hoping to cut through the tentacle!

It was too late.

As Severa's group rushed down the stairs, the ritual circle below exploded into magical energy. The entire group felt wind and energy push back against them, stopping them dead in their tracks. The air suddenly felt hot and heavy, while a sickening smell permeated the air.

"Go," Byakuya said, his eyes wide. He was never one to betray his calm exterior, but he was the quickest to turn the others and demand they turn back. "It's a portal for malevolence!" He and Deadshot ushered the group back the way they came, rushing back into the under ground as malevolence poured through the cracks and up into Avalon.

The warehouse group felt a similar crack of energy inside the building. Alvin groaned and felt at his forehead. "This is all wrong," he said. "This spell has us going in circles. We can't find the ritual site."

"It's too late now," Rowen said. Everyone in the warehouse began feeling a sense of pressure on their bodies. "We must leave this place!" Rowen commanded, leading the way back out of the warehouse. The illusionary magic must have been falling at that moment, as the group was able to make it back out to the streets of Electric Town quickly, only to catch an endless wave of dark energy bursting from the top of the warehouse.

Fountains of malevolence began to burst forth all over Avalon. Civilians caught in the initial blasts were consumed completely, though the fountains didn't threaten those who stood outside of the raging energy. The waves of dark sludge-like energy flew across the Avalon sky, converging at the Grand Hotel and consuming the sprawling building completely. A tornado of darkness exploded outward from the hotel, consuming the surrounding gardens completely.

The dark walls of energy made it impossible for anyone to enter or exit the hotel.

The tentacle around FF disintegrated easily thanks to Titus. Another crashed down into the ground in front of the rider and expanded into a wall of flesh and bone, protecting him from the gunfire. The one around Touma disintegrated next thanks to Alisha.

It was then that a crackling of thunder could be heard in Piper's Landing, this time not from Titus but from somewhere on Ash. A heavy wind began to pick up, causing the rider to pause his attack. "Great... it's getting worse." His tentacles retracted into himself and he readied his horse as if about to leave. "Time to go," he said, spurring his horse to leave, the two monsters that had been attacking leaving with him.

Komaru was about to ask what just happened when she felt a rumbling from beneath her. She looked around, seeing tendrils of darkness in the wind that had picked up. "I'm starting to... feel sick," she said, putting a hand against her forehead. "I think we're too late..."

Alisha had to agree. The group rushed back to the vehicle. Komaru insisted she was okay enough to drive, though as she was starting to leave the area, a large tendril of darkness snaked under the vehicle and tipped it on its side. The girl cried out in fear but thankfully the vehicle flopped back on to its wheels. "Let's get out of here!" she exclaimed, leaving at top speed.

At the cathedral, Solas was forced to cease his freezing assault. However, Zaheer twisted in the air and used wind currents to free himself from Frank's grasp. The two retreated back to the fountain slightly, not realizing that it was now more intense than it had been moments before.

"The malevolence is growing out of control," Milla declared. "I don't believe we could even seal it now."

Zaheer looked like he was in disbelief, though when he turned to look at the fountain, he had to agree. "Solas..."

It was then that it exploded.

A wave of darkness consumed Zaheer and the third mysterious man outright. Though energy was now shooting out like crazy, it was also sucking everyone in the cathedral toward it like a vacuum. Milla grit her teeth and slammed her sword into the ground for something to hold on. "We told you, malevolence is not something to be used for your own means!"

Solas held up a barrier around himself, protecting him. He locked eyes with Milla, watching her as she attempted to use magic of her own to protect her group. "It's... not enough..."

Solas closed his eyes. He raised his staff, throwing up a barrier to protect the group from the worst of the dark energy. "Go," he commanded. Milla nodded and waste no time in leading the group out of the cathedral.

"We have to fall back to the defensive line at Outway!" Milla yelled as she and the others climbed back into the vehicle. "Ivar, can you get us there?"

The man nodded. "Of course I can, lady Milla!"

Not much longer later, the two Avalon groups converged in the center of the city, just outside the dark whirling tornado surrounding the Grand Hotel. "There isn't a way through," Alvin said, communicating to Makoto through a communications device. "Not even Milla could break through, I think."

"What could Jade be doing...?" Rowen asked, mostly to himself.

"If I may," the voice of Kyoko spoke, dropping into the conversation through the same communications link, "I'm getting reports that unidentified -- more than likely hostile -- forces have appeared across Avalon. What's more, strange vehicles have been spotted being escorted to the local school and hospital. Lawson, I'm sending the image to your HUD," Kyoko said.

At the name "Lawson," Riesbyfe furrowed her brow and looked around. "... Who?"

"It's Deadshot while I'm in the field," the marksman said gruffly to Kyoko, giving away some of his real name. Without another word, a small beep could be heard from inside the man's helmet as if to signal that the image had been sent and received. Though his features were masked, his posture visibly tightened. "The vehicles... That design! Those are walking explosives!" He exclaimed.

Hundreds of white, wiry creatures descended upon Avalon, the majority of them focused on the school and the hospital. The screams of civilians began to echo all around as the city rapidly descended into chaos.

Above it all, a man appeared high in the air above Avalon, watching everything unfold. Dark energies surrounded him.

"This is way bad," Alvin said grimly.

As the two groups on Ash rode their vehicles into the Outway station, they could see that the planet was taking a complete turn for the worse. Dark winds buffered at the station's structures while men and women stood around with growing anxiety. Gaius, flanked by a group of UN soldiers, approached the group.

"It seems you were too late," he said, watching the horizon. Beyond Outway, very little could be seen. The badlands beyond were shrouded in dark fog and wind. He watched as glowing, beady eyes appeared in the darkness.

"Is that...?!" Alisha braved to ask.

"We're under attack!" Gaius yelled for all to hear. His voice was carried through his radio to all of Outway. "We must hold the line at Outway until Charon can be evacuated to Avalon!"

"No good!" Paladin Danse responded. "Avalon's under attack apparently. I'll start setting up portals to the Coalition and UN headquarters, then my men and I will be there as soon as possible!"

Outway burst into a flurry of activity as soldiers ran to and fro to their designated spots. This was a situation they had prepared for many times over but no one truly knew what what be thrown at them once Ash went fully out of control.

"We'll hold the line with you," Milla said. "We have to do everything we can!"

Out of the darkness burst forth a rolling wave of creatures assembled together into a spiral of darkness. The mass of creatures spun around in the air, descending on Outway like an oncoming plague. With every twist, a small amount of the creatures fell off and wasted no time in crawling around the ground and jumping at soldiers.

The darkness in the air parted for one man who floated high in the air. He watched the events unfold beneath him. He smiled as the raging winds crescendo around him.

Gritting his teeth, preparing for the onslaught of enemy forces, Touma balled up his fists. "I'm guessing that guy's the leader of the welcome committee...!"

"Oh GREAT." Just great! Stupid Avalon. Every time she came her things just kept getting worse...Not bothering to wait around for anyone else. Severa decided to get a move on towards...somewhere. But she only got a few steps towards it when a small space ship pulled up right in front of the group. Anyone who had been a part of the Volt mission would recognize the driver as she opened the cockpit.

"Looks like I got here just in time," the woman who had introduced herself as Scrapper said. "Never thought I'd see this place again, but with the people of Asgard safe and sound Heimdall sent me since I've been here before. Said it's an all-hands-on-deck type of thing. Speaking of...anyone need a ride?"

"Aw jeez...it looks like that fortune teller was right!" Over at the hospital, a young woman watched as the strange creatures grouped up around the premises. A little monkey perched on her shoulder, chattering anxiously. Santamu petted the little creature to help calm him down. "It's okay, Kiki! May as well use those old tricks from the Doll days for good, don't you think?" Kiki responded with more resolved chatter, and the girl jumped down in front of the hospital, spear at the ready. "Come on, you creeps! Take one step closer, I dare you!"

No matter where you were on Avalon, it was impossible to not spot the man in the sky, or the evil energy swirling around. It could even be seen in Pumpkin Hills, and one farmer in particular wasted no time springing into action. The second she saw this sudden shift, Alice Twilight once again donned her ASURA-6 and took off towards the source of this. Freedom was never free, and she knew ever since her encounter with that giant boar that Avalon was not free of its own demons. Spotting the two sources of chaos, Alice set her course for the school. Children..she refused to let children be hurt.

Oh Gods...this situation was far worse than Libra had ever anticipated. The Malevolence levels were downright suffocating, and so may people were still in danger... "We don't have time for standing around," he said, mostly to himself. "We need to--" But before he could finish, he saw the beast descend on Outway. When it was safe to use, he'd attempt to summon a bolt of lightning, seeing if it could at least do some sort of damage!

"Well this had turned into a fine mess hadn't it?" Bayonetta looked up at the sky and the chaos descending around them. "We better give these civilians a hand before worrying about the leader," Bayonetta changed shape to her panther form and made her way towards the school to see what she could do.

The Rider looked at the chaos and grinned. "Now this is why you call after me!" His cosmic bike appeared next to him as he took a seat before charging headlong towards the twirling monster.

“Ghh!” was all FF could muster after all that happened.

She did nod her head to Titus when she was rescued as a thank you.

“I’ll help with holding down the fort! That man up there doesn’t seem like one I can just shoot at!”

She took her position by Outway, firing at the shadows that attempt to get in.

[Atomic Knight]

The strange white creatures flew around in packs, circling around the Avalon people and chasing them down streets and alleys. A pack of kids tossed rocks at a group of the dusks, which caused the creatures to land and stalk toward them, their bodies stretching at impossible lengths as they took long strides toward the kids. They all let out shrieks and yells, running down the street toward Avalon's hospital.

People didn't know whether to run to the hospital for safety or flee from the building. Many of the Coalition's medical staff were strong fighters but anyone who had heard about the bombs knew that one was slowly heading that way.

As for the fleeing kids, a teenager stepped between them and the dusks in an effort to protect them. "Get behind me!" he yelled and threw a fist, disintegrating one of the pack easily.

"They're easy alone, but...!"

Jude whipped his head behind him to check on the hospital down the street. "We need to start evacuating everyone!"

As Jude turned back to the dusk pack, they were on him quicker than he realized. He flinched in anticipation of their attacks but a flying object flew through the air and cut through the creatures. Jude's gaze followed the object, a boomerang, as it flew back to Hope, another of the Coalition's medical staff.

"Jude, are you okay?" he asked Jude.

Jude gave a nod. "Y-Yeah... thanks. I never thought the Revanchist would do something like this..."

Hope turned to catch another pack of dusks flying down from above. "There's just so many... Jude, fall back to the hospital and help Leia evacuate!"

"Got it!" Jude said, sprinting past Hope as he tossed his boomerang a second time.

As Jude got closer to the hospital, he saw Leia escorting a group out of the building. She let out battle cries and swiped at any dusks that got near her or the patients. "Aaaah!!" she cried, extending her staff and having it cut through a whole group of them.

"Hooyah!" Leia cheered.

Jude shook his head. "Leia, what's the situation?"

"Jude!" Leia made sure the patients were passed off to another before she answered. "All the nearby buildings are being cleared... there are some shelters nearby but I don't think that'll keep everyone safe!" She balled a hand into a fist. "We need to get more people to the embassy to transport them to the Coalition HQ!"

Jude let out a sigh. "But we can't leave the hospital unguarded..."

"Then we'll have to hold out until then, but that's a bit easier said than done," Akiko Yosano -- another prominent member of the Coalition's medical staff -- uttered as she walked from around the corner behind Leia, one hand clutching a garishly long saw blade, meant of course for protection against the dusks.

"But who would be crazy enough to come over here?" The woman uttered, hoisting the blunt end of the blade onto her shoulder while her other hand rested upon her hip.

Packs of dusks circled around the school building as kids ran from it, screaming. The moving bomb still had a ways to go but the dusks were doing a good job of scaring people away from the vehicle's intended path. A flurry of spells and bullets came down on dusks rapidly, thinning out some of the numbers around the school.

"There's just too many of these little buggers!" Alvin exclaimed, his eyes darting to catch the creatures. Rowen stood beside him, seemingly focused on something else.

"Reinforcements are on their way," Rowen said, turning to Alvin. "However, Alvin, I find it concerning that there is a third concentration of the creatures, though there is no third bomb that we can see."

"What can we do about that?" Alvin asked.

"We'll check out the third site discreetly. Chances are, our enemies are trying to pull one over on us."

The pair left quickly as others were arriving to defend the school

The lightning bolts took out chunks of the spiral monstrosity, however this caused the smaller creatures to fall to the ground and become a part of the growing horde. The monstrosity crashed headlong into Frank, consuming him. Though it would not be enough to hurt him, it seemed the levels of malevolence flowing through the air was making the creatures as a whole harder to kill.

The floating man descended slightly, raising his hands to conjure streams of darkness that twisted in the air much like the monstrosity. The streams crashed down into Outway, throwing around soldiers from the impact.

As black waves of energy fell over Outway, Komaru raised a strange megaphone-like weapon she had grabbed since arriving back at Outway and started clearing the dark winds with blasts from it.

Scrapper narrowed her eyes, looking out over the scene. "That place over there looks like it needs some help," she said, pointing to the hospital. "Climb aboard, I'll give anyone a ride who wants it."

One said crazy waved at the hospital staff from her spot a batch of downed dusks dissolving into the ground.

"Yoohoo! I got a fortune earlier today that said there was gonna be trouble here. How that lady was able to get all this from tarot cards I have no idea, but...if anyone needs help, I'm your girl!"

Avalon - School

"You're mine!" Alice literally cut a path to the school as she ran through the dusks, her beam katanas slicing through them like it was nothing. To her relief, it seemed the children were getting away safely, but she refused to let anything more happen that could endanger anyone further. Remaining in the thick of things, Alice continued to focus on clearing those dusks, hopefully giving whoever came later more free time to deal with the bomb once it arrived.

Ragnarok - Outway

As the larger creature descended on Frank, a glimmering scimitar attempted to cut him loose. He would recognize its weilder from the earlier mission to Buckingham.

"With any luck I should be able to cut through the darkness," she said. "But if not, well...you may want to step back."

Libra would attempt the same as Urbosa, using his axe on a smaller creature to see if it would cut through them and dispose of them. He looked up at the floating man. "We need to get him out of here!"

Bayonetta emerged just as Alvin and Rowen headed off. "Well then," She pulled out her guns and started firing towards the nearby enemies. "Time to save this world's education system!"

It seemed like the Rider had been devoured by the darkness and as the others tried to save him they'd see that something started to light up in the center of it before the Cosmic Ghost Rider bursts from it with his bike.

"WOOOOOOOOO!!!!" It seemed that he was fine for the time being.​

[Atomic Knight]

Within the school's interior, kids and faculty alike were rushing to leave the building amidst the chaos going on all around them. Dusks snaked into the building, sneaking behind doors and breaking through windows in order to completely frighten everyone within. One woman, known mostly as Ms. Frizzle, escorted a group of children as she tried to sneak around the invading creatures.

"Stay close to me, everyone," she said, her voice quiet but the woman looking confident despite the scary circumstances. A pair of dusks passed by her and the kids as they in the doorway of a classroom. She waited a moment before running into the hall, waving for the children to follow her.

A young girl ran next to her, trying to get the teacher's attention. "Miss--"

Ms. Frizzle turned to her, a finger to her lips. "We have to be quiet, Elle," she whispered. The young girl nodded in response, staying quiet as they neared the stairwell down to the lower floors.

Ms. Frizzle put an ear to the door, trying to hear for any commotion, but when she heard nothing she opened the door and ushered the children inside. Unfortunately, as they came in, a pair of dusks came leaping down the stairs to their landing.

Elle let out a small yelp and crashed backward into the child behind her, causing a chain reaction of the kids tripping and crying out. Ms. Frizzle bravely stood between the creatures and her students as one boy at the back of the pack began to cry.

Thankfully, someone was looking out for them.

Swirling magical energy cascaded down the stairs and consumed the two dusks, destroying them outright. Elle let out a surprised gasp and pushed past Ms. Frizzle to see who had created the spell. She smiled when she saw a young girl a few years older than her stepped down the stairs, followed by a strange, floating toy.

"Don't worry everyone!" she exclaimed, "Teepo and I are here to help!"

"Yeah, Elize is sooo strong!" added Teepo, the apparent toy.

Ms. Frizzle let out a relieved sigh. "Good job, Elize! Come, help me escort the other children."

Avalon- Deadpool

" Well, that can't be good- well, I don't think I'm allowed near schools and hospitals aren't my things.... so uhh… I'll go and follow those two," he mumbled following the two men leaving the school.

Fiyero hadn't anticpated being so close to danger and he didn't have many means to defend himself, as he tried to avoid the creatures as they surrounded him. Luckily for him, a young man would appear. " Like hell anyone is denying on my watch, get behind me, whoever you are. I'm James by the way," he replied, making a force field around himself and Fiyero. He hoped others would come to help him, but he could make some small explosions happen.

Avalon-School

Meanwhile at the school, Asher would look over at the things. " Bad monsters don't hurt my friends." his eyes would glow red as he would focus explosions at the monsters. Orbing behind him were Chris and Wyatt, both armed. Chris would shoot the monsters with photokinesis as Wyatt would use his orbing and Excalibular to orb and move around the monsters.

A would watch from the body from Lydia, looking at the ghost known as Beetlejuice who would multiple and shoot the monsters with his own powers.

Ethan took a moment to look around and would dodge out of the way, following the rest of the children as closely as he could.

Sara Lance/White Canary

" I do hope you have room for one more- nothing I hate then people who ruin my new home," Sara replied as she would take her sword and hoping into the car.

Avalon-Hospital

Eve watched as the destruction happen and nearly got crushed by some debris if it wasn't for a blond speedester. " You need to be more careful, get to those portals, I got this handled," Matthew replied, moving at speeds to deliver super fast speed blows to the creatures.

Peter Quill, freshly out of the ICU would pull out his gun. " Oh uglies, I got a laser beam with your name on it," he replied, shooting his gun at the enemies.

Kiri would grab her knife and stab the nearest one along with her old friend Nott who would shoot at them.

Theo would use his own powers to claw and tear into them, taking them apart.

Up in the sky, Freddy would look at them. "Lighting bolts for all of you dicks, nobody hurts the patients here. They all need their help and you need to go."

The Cheshire Cat would appear and disappear, making himself a nuisance and hoping to get the monsters to attack each other.

Jefferson would throw a hat and spin in. " Into the hat you go, we don't want your kind around here."

Mickey Mouse

Wearing a black hoodie and armed with his keyblade, Mickey would look at Xemnas. " I should have known that you would want to destroy a place as beautiful as this, but I an bot going to let you," he replied, hoping up to aim to strike Xemnas with his keyblade.

" I think the best we can do is fight. We got to give everyone as much time as we can. Hopefully, none of us can fall like Will did-

" You're not alone here-" Peter Destin replied.

" You- you're- I thought you said you couldn't be involved."

" Not directly at first, but I moved enough strings to be here and I'm not alone."

Billy stared as he watched more people appeared. "The world won't end in darkness," Ashley replied, sending explosions to push the winds back.

Henry would move to help any injured soldiers that he would find and pull them to be patched up as quickly as possible. John Stevenson would also help him do the same.

Lucas would also work with John and Henry as would Jessica Riley.

Lydia Martin would scream, pushing the winds back with her banshee screams.

Lucifer would take a breath. " Nobody ever said that saving the day would be easy," he replied, as he would use his telekinesis to push the horde back.

Nathan Drake would shoot at the horde.

Scooby Doo would use his robotic dog protoype to analyze everything and shot at the monsters.

Derek would use his claws to slash any monsters that approach as Marcus Cain would shot at them.

Mon-El would protect anyone he could, punching the monster and using his super breath to blow the darkness back.

Ned, the Pie Maker would use his gift to bring back the soldiers for about fifty seconds, making sure to put them back to rest. If he could he would revive a monster that had died, hoping it would cause another healthy one to die in a minute.

Max Thunderman would attempt to freeze the monsters in their path.

" I think we are going to be able to hold back-"

As if the universe needed a good laugh, he would be interpruptted by a man landing, punching Henry Morgan so hard that he died on impact. Luckily, Henry was immortal and would come back in a few minutes.... though naked and vunerable.View attachment 5150

Sekiro remained relatively unfazed as chaos descended upon the land, but the grip on his sword tightened as malevolence chilled the air itself. It reminded him of the apparitions he had fought in the past, whose power manifested in the form of Terror. They were perhaps the most dangerous enemies he had ever encountered. This only made eliminating his new malevolent enemies a very pressing task.

As he descended upon the school, the screams of children put him on edge. If he couldn't protect them, how could he protect the Divine Heir? Soon, he joined the ranks of those thinning out the Dusks with brutal precision. Their long limbs failed to scratch him as he evaded back and forth with each strike.

As the monsters figured their chances of landing an attack would benefit from gathering into a cluster, Sekiro quickly fiddled with his prosthetic arm before aiming a Flame Vent at them. Suddenly a blast of fire shot forth, quickly consuming and melting them to the very last atom, as if they had been eviscerated by a dragon. The blast itself had even knocked the shinobi back, but he kept his feet planted on the ground as he skidded. Further embracing the flames of hatred, he put his blade to the prosthetic tool, immolating it in a persisting fire. He continued to slash at more Dusks without an ounce of mercy, leaving behind trails of fire with each slash.

This long, arduous expedition was reaching its crescendo, and he would not hesitate to use the extent of his power to secure victory.

As chaos erupted across the city, a member of Avalon's reigning council, Nanamo Ul Namo, watched with a heavy heart. Despite the growing tensions across the multiverse, Avalon had largely managed to be free of any discord. She and the other council members knew that Jade Curtiss would be a blight upon this city eventually and had so desperately wished he could be removed before something like this happened.

"The people are ready," said Nanamo's guard, Raubahn Aldynn. He knelt down both in deference to her and to be on her level. "The Avalon guard knew that a day like this could come."

The woman nodded. "I know." She looked off into the distance for a moment before turning to the man resolutely. "Good luck," she said, "to all of you."

Moments later, Raubahn was leading the charge with squads of fighters ready to protect Avalon from this devastation.

"Oi! You!"

Riesbyfe and Little My were being addressed by some kid running up to them. He seemed to know Riesbyfe at least, for he was none other than Cullen Bloodstone.

"You think I came here to have to deal with all this?" he exclaimed, looking at Riesbyfe as if this was somehow her fault. "Bugger this." As dusks flew through the air around them, Cullen turned and conjured a strange tentacle out of his back. It passed him a rifle and he started aiming to fire on the creatures. "Keep the kid safe. You're just lucky I was practicing some sharpshooting."

Gaius was like a cyclone of destruction., his long sword flying around him in precise and masterful strokes. Red energy erupted around the man and poured out his sword with fury. Red streaks cleaved the air, cutting down dozens of the creatures with every slash. "These shadows... end their blight!" he cried, instilling hope into his men with every swing of his blade.

He stopped though, when Will Nines appeared, eyeing the man down. "More Revanchist men to cut down, I see. Calculate this!" He swung his sword, sending a beam of red energy toward Will.

Up above, as Frank burst through the wall of shadows, he found himself face-to-face with the mysterious commander. The man only smiled as black energy erupted around him and sent Frank flying off course. "Suffer!" declared the man as balls of shadow flew from his hands and toward Frank.

As shadows threw themselves at Milla, it was Ivar who moved to protect her. "Nothing will touch you while I'm around, lady Milla!" He wielded twin short swords, cutting creatures left and right rapidly.

Milla sighed, busy cutting down enemies of her own. "Ivar, you are no longer my handmaid, there's no need for you to go to such lengths--"

"Guh!"

A shot rang out and Ivar doubled over in pain. "A b-bullet...?" The UN soldier looked around for where the attack came from, but found himself growing faint.

"L-Lady Milla..."

Milla's eyes went wide as Ivar fell to the ground. The attack signaled new creatures to arrive, joining the crowds of shadows. Komaru cried out in surprise at the growing numbers, for she and the others who had went to Piper's Landing would recognize the small black creatures that had attacked them.

"What a wonderful place to carry on the hunt!" a voice yelled. It was then that a figure appeared from the darkness, half his body some kind of large parasitic creature.

"Like shooting fish in a barrel."

Milla grit her teeth as she eyed the new threat.

With each passing second, the world around Titus looked more and more like home.

The peace and tranquility of an Ultramarine sanctum was a far cry from what he saw before him now. Gunfire and blades. The sky split apart with weapons of mass destruction. Bodies were strewn about the ground as discarded meat. Shadows were looming over the horizon, encroaching on his position with each blink of his eye. A bloodied battlefield lit aflame in the fires of pure, unfettered war. With all it's glory, and all it's violence.

Sergeant Sidonus would have been counting his kills already. How easy it was for the old man to remain so unbothered by war; spilling blood should come as naturally to an Astartes as breathing would come to an average human. He's always been more of a Space Marine than Titus ever was in that regard. Even now, Titus could not bring himself to crack a smile in the face of glorious combat, for duty only comes as the instinct to him. The sons of Gulliman have always known this truth to be evident within themselves.

The opening excerpt of the Codex Astartes returned to him.

They shall be pure of heart and strong of body, untainted by doubt and unsullied by self-aggrandizement. They will be bright stars on the firmament of battle, Angels of Death whose shining wings bring swift annihilation to the enemies of Man.

So it shall be for a thousand times for a thousand years...

"... unto the very end of eternity and the extinction of mortal flesh," the captain finally murmured. Amid the chaotic battlefield, the blue-armored marine was kneeling. A hand gripped the hilt of his chainsword where the blade's head had been firmly planted into dirt. He rose from his position as a cerulean tower, tearing the weapon free of its earthen confine with a sharp hiss of its jagged teeth. His wrist cocked skyward, eliciting a click from his wrist-mounted gun. The power fields of his Fist and Hammer hummed quietly.

Captain Titus turned a half-lidded gaze out toward the Hunter - the man on horseback. He furrows his brow.

"... My word in the sword shall be as my bolter in the field."

He clicked the blade's engine trigger. WHIIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

"Ave Imperator."

That was one way to get his attention. But that would not be enough.

[BOOM BOOM BOOM!]

A volley of bolts sailed towards the man's head.

A blackened creature from the spiraling mass of darkness surrounding the marine eagerly lunged at him with a gurgling roar. Still, it could only shriek as Titus twisted his wrist, pressing the chainswords teeth against center mass before he squeezed the engine trigger until naught, but dust remained. He spun around in a swift motion, doing the same to another creature, and another that sprinted towards him.

He slammed his boot up against a fourth, jamming the bolter barrel in whatever constituted as a mouth and pulling the trigger, obliterating its head. A fifth descended upon him from a jagged rock before being seized by its face, chainsaw blades staining the ground beneath the pair with blackened goo before Titus hurled the disintegrating remains towards the sixth.

A seventh was sent flying across the battlefield into a wall by the shattering force of a Power Fist. An eighth was cut short by Titus hurtling a chainsword into its mouth before slamming his pauldron against it and digging its head into the dirt with a swift stomp of his boot before tearing his blade free from its remains.

The Ultramarine continued as a whirlwind of gunfire and blades, carving a path towards the horseman. Of course, he did not merely wish to kill the man - he wanted him to focus on Titus and Titus only.

"I do that every daaaaaaaaaaay!" The Rider screamed as he was blown off course by the man's energy balls. It looked like he was going to crash into a nearby building until he was stopped by a gust of wind that stopped him mere inches from the wall.

"What? Where? Who?"

"You're welcome," A metallic female voice rung out as a red robot flew up next to the Rider.

"The name's Lois Lane and I'm here to help."

"Lois?" The Rider asked as he steadied himself on his bike. "Doesn't really have that oomph to it does it?"

"Well if you prefer monikers," Lois remarked. "You can call me Red Tornado."​

Avalon- School

Sekiro would, on his way to the school, be accompanied by a black wolfdog running beside him. The beast growled and barred it's fangs as they neared and once the shinobi unleashed his attack on the Dusks she broke away to attack a group of her own, teeth and claws tearing away before, in the blink of an eye a woman could be seen in the wolfdog's place, releasing a flurry of kicks and punches to the Dusks with as much ferocity.

"Come on uglies!" The woman snarled, kneeing the nearest Dusk in the head.

Any that Blue would miss would quickly be cut down by a blue haired woman wielding a Naginata. Azura moved swiftly as she cut down Dusks left and right, hoping to help clear the way so they could evacuate the children and teachers inside to a safer location quickly.

Elsewhere, Shigure turned to Scrapper, gripping his Naginata tightly.

"Wherever I'm needed, I'll go with you, Miss." He spoke.

Many of the beasts that fell from the spiral of dark creatures would be met with sharp cutting winds to tear them apart, as well as a blade as a cloaked figure made his way besides Libra.

"You know, I'd say it's good to see you old friend, but given the circumstances this isn't much of an ideal reunion." He sighed.

Lindel really did end up in odd situations when it came to his new friends didn't he?

The Hunter would find himself being attacked from both sides as a young boy with white hair in a red piloting suit charged at him from the left as Titus made his attack, and Chise charged to his right.

Both android and Sleigh Beggy would attempt to kick the man in the head and slash at his horse respectively before backing off. Chise went to protect Komaru, while Lwai moved in to try and destroy many of the dark creatures nearby then.

As Urbosa and co attempted to cut down the shadow beasts, Clare would approach, Claymore drawn and eyes glowing gold and cat like as she cut down shadow-like beasts down with blurred arm movements. She didn't so much as blink as she stared past the Coalition forces to the the man whi floated above it all herself, eyeing him quietly. Her arm flexed, bulging as its veins became visible, her teeth sharpened and her features became more inhuman as she growled at the man.

He was, in a sense, familiar. She couldn't pinpoint it right now, but she was sure it'd come to her later.

"Ah, Cullen! A happy coincidence to bump into you!" Riesbyfe grinned eagerly as the boy -- a fellow survivor of Point Zero and resident of Avalon, though for some reason he struggled to call them friends -- marched onto scene just in the nick of time, the woman either oblivious or uncaring (in an endearing way) about his accusatory demeanor.

In a mad dash, the Holy Knight moved to Cullen's back, a sharp blade suddenly protruding from the front of her shield as it swiftly stabbed into a coming dusk behind the boy. With a fixed gaze as sharp as the blade, Riesbyfe gave a narrowed glare toward the enemy, before focusing her internal magical energy into the blade, overloading it in a potent mana burst, a small explosion ringing out from the blade blasting the dusk away, sending its body flying forward and crashing into some others of its kind!

Standing side by side with the boy, Riesbyfe gave a nod his way. "Don't mind us, Cullen! Multiverse business, as you might have guessed! Might you fancy accompanying me to the Hospital, by any chance? We could stand to more evenly distribute our numbers if you'd care to join in on the fun!" She exclaimed, gesturing toward Scrapper's direction.

Meanwhile, close enough to Riesbyfe and Cullen to overhear the exchange, Deadshot blasted down a myriad of dusks with unmatched accuracy, smoke rising out of his wrist blasters as he deftly put each of the creatures down like animals.

"That's where I'll be headed too, then. Can't stand brats, so I'll pass on the school myself," the marksman grunted, reloading his guns while he had the time. "If we could just get more of our forces scattered throughout those points, that'd be dynamite."

"Need some help, handsome?" A sultry, feminine voice suddenly rang out next to Gaius as he valiantly fought off the forces of darkness at Ragnarok. Not content with being held back at some safe, dainty little space where the enemy wouldn't be able to get to her, the minx of a Great Spirit known as Muzét suddenly appeared next to the raven-haired man, floating in the air over him.

With a playful wink, the Great Spirit momentarily focused her gaze to a small pack of dark creatures attempting to flank Gaius from the side, Muzét snapping her fingers in a casual display of her power.

Negative Holder.

Suddenly, a dark orb -- almost reminiscent of a tiny black hole -- appeared in several feet in the air above the creatures, a ray of light emanating from it which suddenly caused the creatures on the prowl to sink into the ground as though they were being crushed by invisible weights. In reality, the orb was a gravity well that rendered them unable to even stand up on their own feet.

With that, as the creatures unable to move, vulnerable to the next trick up her sleeve, Muzét prepared her next spell!

Force Mine.

In no time, the spots in which the creatures stood suddenly were enveloped in purple light, which completely engulfed the hostiles in small explosions that would have threatened to blind anyone that was too close for just a second. Once the light subsided, the creatures were gone forever, as though Muzét had essentially just disintegrated them into nothingness with the light.

From there, Muzét floated back down, closer to Gaius's position. Regardless of whether the man was able to get a solid hit on Will Nines in the distance, the Great Spirit rested her hand gently upon Gaius's wrist in an intimate manner, a catlike smirk tugging at the corners of her lips. "What say you and me tether again, for old time's sake, and really show these humans who's boss?" She suggested. Though only a handful of people here could have known, Muzét shared a deep relationship with Gaius, one that transcended the need for superfluous words, even if it had been a long time since they'd seen each other last. They understood each other, their needs and wants, and what needed to be done in that moment.

In another part of Ragnarok meanwhile...

"Wha--?!" Alisha gasped in shock as one of their own was severely wounded as the familiar horseman from before returned. She had had enough of this man's interference, and was more than ready to take him down for the count already! However, the girl couldn't bring herself to abandon a helpless comrade while he was still out in the open like that.

While Titus rampaged through the horde to take away the horseman's attention, Alisha dashed forward for Ivar's position, only to be momentarily stopped by a small gathering of creatures intent on putting her down, but she would not be felled by such lowly creatures. Her brow furrowing, her resolve and determination returning as she was fueled by the desire to protect rather than to destroy, the girl twirled her spear, ready to fight.

"Not on your life!" She exclaimed, before spinning around with her spear extended out, moving at a staggering, inhuman velocity, easily cutting through each of their bodies like a hot knife through butter, swift enough that the very wind in the air shuddered as though to make way for the girl's movements.

Demon Swallow!

With the enemies quickly dispatched, the young girl ran over to help the weakened Ivar up, supporting him up with her body as she attempted to drag him out of harm's way, toward Milla's direction!

"Mind if I stick with you, Ms. Maxwell? Ivar's in bad shape, but I think as long as you're by his side, he'll be able to make it through!" She suggested hastily.

In yet another part of Ragnarok...

"Out of my way already!" Touma exclaimed to the mindless creatures as he attempted to navigate his way through the battlefield, the Imagine Breaker in his right hand coming in useful rather well as he was able to punch each of the creatures out of existence; it seemed that whatever their origin was, it was magical enough in nature that he was able to essentially disintegrate them with a single touch, but that didn't mean he could afford to be careless.

Eventually, the spiky-haired boy reached Komaru's position; whatever she was doing with the microphone seemed to be able to keep the malevolence at bay for now, but who knew how long they could all keep this up?

"That's a pretty nifty thing you got there, but I don't suppose it could reach that guy up there?" Touma inquired. However, he'd let his guard down for just one moment too long, as he realized too late upon turning around that one dark creature had managed to sneak up behind him and Komaru, and began to leap right at him!

"Guwaagh!" He began to exclaim, preparing for the worst, until...!

SHHHK!

The creature suddenly stopped in the air, what looked like two pairs of scissor blades protruding from its front; it would have been a rather graphic and gruesome scene if it was even capable of bleeding, but it wasn't. Touma was thankful that such was the case, especially as the scissor blades suddenly ripped the creature apart, the little monster evaporating into the air, and standing right behind where it once was stood...

"WHAT-WHAT-WHAT-WHAAAAT'S GOIN' ON?" A bespectacled girl unfamiliar to Touma shrieked like she was going to break into maniacal laughter any moment now, freakishly long tongue sticking out like a snake as she looked to Komaru. "I really can't leave you alone for one moment, Umaru?! You really are helpless! I don't even know what's going on, but it looks fun, gyahahahahaha!!"

The girl was, of course, named Toko Fukawa, a close friend of Komaru's. But Toko herself wasn't home right now. It was her alternative personality, Genocide Jack. Not that Touma knew any of that.

"W-Who are you?!" Touma uttered.

"A serial killer!" The girl exclaimed gleefully.

"S-Sorry I asked!"

Those around Outway would find the air become slightly humid. Perhaps a couple extra drops of sweat streamed down their necks, or the grips on their weapons were a bit more slippery than usual. It was hardly noticeable. Why would it be? The chaos all around, unfortunately, eclipsed such a trivial change. However, in time, a transparent silhouette moved closer to the soldiers rallied round the garrison, and with it, a unique sense of dread, like feeling lost in the deep sea, exposed and blind to all angles of attack.

While most of the powerful people focused on high-profile targets, they had failed to look out for the common soldier.

The first of the monster's victims recoiled as a harpoon stabbed right through him, ignoring any armor he may have been wearing. The serrated dirk lodged into the wound, allowing the attacker to painfully yank the line back, dragging him helplessly along the ground before finishing him off. His fellows shrieked in horror before meeting similar ends: the watery blur dashing to and fro, narrowly dodging their projectiles and parrying their melee. Several bleeding bodies now littered the ground as the Bloodharbor Ripper eyed his next target wordlessly before mumbling, "Yes, you were there..."​

"'Fraid it might be dangerous for me to get close to the hospital," Cullen said to Riesbyfe. He casually paused to shoot down a floating dusk before continuing. "But let's hope it doesn't come to that, hm?"

Whatever Cullen meant, he was keeping to himself.

As he and the others on their way to the hospital arrived, they saw a much larger version of the smaller dusks scaling the building.

"Who does that cunt think he is, King Kong?" Cullen quipped.

Nearby, Hope was casting spells toward the creature. "It seems pretty resistant to magic!" he yelled.

Flames began to appear in the sky above the school, raining down on the building as if it had angered some powerful god. In the sky near the flames, creaturs began to phase into existence. The creatures, looking like phoenixes, rained down flames from their bodies.

In mere moments, the school was ablaze, adding to the many dangers already happening. The bomb wasn't too far now.

"Excuse me, trying to save some kids!" exclaimed a teenage girl, rushing past Azura and rushing into the building. She was stopped however, when another girl yelled at her to stop.

"Bullet, you're just... rushing in!?"

"Uh, yeah?" the girl responded, turning around to look at her friend, Nancy. "Gonna do something about it?"

Nancy let out an exasperated sigh. "I--" She looked to Azura as if to say "can you believe her?"

After a moment's hesitation, she looked to Bullet. "Fine, let's get those kids out of there."

The two girls ran into the building.

"I suppose... now's the best opportunity for you to arrive!" Komaru said, eyeing Genocide Jack dubiously. She had forgotten herself for a moment, dangerously so in the middle of all this chaos, and chastised herself internally as she reached out to grab Touma's wrist in order to get his attention.

"Forget that, okay? Your right hand might be the best chance we got against that guy!" She turned and pointed toward the sky, at the commander.

Nearby, Milla Maxwell nodded toward Alisha as a sign of respect as she carried Ivar toward her. "Thank you, Alisha." She quickly filled the distance between them and cut down any of the shadows that got close to the girl.

As for the hunter, he barked out a laugh at all the attention he was suddenly getting. His horse was long gone now that over half his body was now some monstrous beast. His lower half now was a hulking monstrosity that towered over the others, with hard skin and a flurry of tentacles. The tentacles shielded him largely from the flurry of bullets being fired upon him. During the assault, he caught a glimpse of Titus wreaking havoc toward him.

"Seems like you understand the thrill of the hunt, mate!" the hunter yelled, firing off a couple of rifle shots toward Titus. Two of his tentacles moved to slam down into the groun around him, causing the ground to quake around him and black dust to obscure the vision of those trying to attack him.

Komaru had let go of Touma and was now trying to spot for the other fighters. "Look out!" she yelled as the humanoid creatures that had attacked Chise before appeared from the dust to finish the job.

The man high in the sky crossed his arms, giving the appearance of Red Tornado little attention. He saw Clare eye him from below and responded by raising and balling into a fist. The ground around her exploded. As this was happening, the spiraling tower of shadows was still intact and turning around to consume Lois now. The man's dark winds battled intensely with hers.
