Vekta City, a Eden like paradise meant for Vektan citizens. One of beauty and utopian buildings that contracted Helghan's more industrial and dirty landscape, more hellish than anything.

The typical things happened during the day, ISA or Interplanetary Space Association soldiers doing normal marches along the government building that held the most highly ranked Vektan VIPs and more.

Today was nothing more like the same, ISA and Helghast were fighting covert wars across the wall that divided the population.

The ISA cruisers were steadily in the air tracking anything that might cause trouble to the planet, if anything went wrong, surely Earth's colonies would know about it.

A recently promoted ISA Lieutenant and Private moved along the ship's controls.

The private wasn't even paying attention but he was the first one to hear the beeps from the ISA cruiser they were on.

"SIR! I saw something on the screen!"

"WHAT?!" The older man frowned, scrambling over to the screen.

"Farr, what the hell is it?" Surk frowned.

The private typed on the screen only to see a small alien like creature opening some sort of portal.

"WHAT IS IT?!"

" This is ISA soldiers Private Farr, and Lieutenant Surk, we spotted something."

A voice came over the loudspeaker "What is it exactly? Is it Helghast?"

Lieutenant Surk frowned "What the hell you take us for? This isn't a Helghast, it's a lot different. Permission to take it out, Sir?"

The voice said "Permission granted."

The ISA cruiser let off small alarms letting the other soldiers on board know that the ship was adjusting.

A larger blast shot at the strange creature who showed up in the Atmosphere of Vekta.

"Chief! We don't have much time. Deactivate the third tower so we can end this."

Master Chief and a UNSC/Covenant detachment were attacking the Ark, the central control of the Halo Ring network. They were on the midst of bringing down a Forerunner shield dome around the Central Control Room of the Ring Network. Removing the final Covenant guard including a Chieftain, Master Chief pressed the button to drop the barrier:

"Now, prophet. Your end has come." Came from the Shipmaster as they were about to mark the end of the Prophet of Truth, and end this war once and for all... That was however, until a Slipspace jump occured:

"High Charity... By the gods, brace for impact!" But all of a sudden, the large behemoth of High Charity suddenly jumped again, and disappeared from sight. One the Shipmaster was very confused about, but also wanted to follow.

"Shipmaster! High Charity jumped again!" "Impossible. How could the flood possibly learn how to utilise our holy technology so quickly?" "I don't know, Shipmaster, but our scans show that it's no longer in our Galaxy after that jump." "Read up on that jump, and prepare to follow. We'll locate it and stop this infestation. Fly back up to Orbit and link up with the remainder of our fleet, and prepare for interception."

Meanwhile . . . . .

The Flood Infested High Charity had reached it's second destination, which appeared to be another planet in general, but nothing like what's in the Halo's Milky Way. No, it was different. And it's military seemed to be different as well.

A larger blast shot at the strange creature who showed up in the Atmosphere of Vekta.

The shots fired by those cruisers appeared to do almost nothing to the almost organic looking Space Station as it continued it's course, and crash landed into the city! It crashed into a residential district somewhat far from the center of the city, and all of a sudden...

The ship turned murky. And orange, and dirty after the unknown entrant crashed into the atmosphere. But what exactly was it? And what was inside it?

SHIT! The two soldiers sounded the alert, calling all cruisers to take on the threat at hand. However, the first one on heavy alert down below, the Vektan security agency.

kzsf_ne_2013-10-22_story-trailer_02.jpg

The alarms sounded on Vekta as Director Thomas Sinclair stared out the window. There were reports of a very strange like "being" on the planet that crashed into a nearby residential area.

The news was all over it. Vekta had surely been attacked but by who?!"

He had to assume the Helghasts had done this to throw the VSA off guard.

He was already checking holograms of the city to see where the "being" had landed.

He had a hand on his ear and grunted "Lucas, you hearing this?"

"Yes Sir, Director. It's been all over the news. This could be bad news for all of us.

"What can you find out about it?"

Thomas Sinclair frowned "Listen, Lucas. You're my top spy. I want you to find out as much as you can on this before the Helghast do. You know what to do."

Lucas nodded "I'm on it. Keep in Touch."

Thomas Sinclair nodded "Of course."

Hera Visari is at the scene, now talking to the citizens of New Helghan:

Dear esteemed citizens of New Helghan, Another brief "attack" on the Vektan side of the wall was blamed on us today by the Vektans, however this is not true.

It is yet "undetermined" what this threat was coming out of the sky and we shall be determined to find out what it is first before things get out of hand.

Echo growled at the news that her people was being blamed for whatever happened in the Vektan side of the wall but something was wrong here.

There were news reports all over New Helghan showing a strange orange and reddish creature in Vekta's residential area. If anything, she knew Lucas would be all over it.

It was up to her to find out what this threat was.

and get some leads back.

@Raynar Saassin

Any soldiers that would approach the crash site would begin to see the more machine-like side of the crashed entrant, and would start to spark questions. Just what was it and why isn't it fully organic like it looked?

Then, all of a sudden, something appeared out of the crash site. It was... small?

320

It appeared to just stand still for a moment, and looked towards the group of people that would approach the site. But what was it?

@dark

The Vektan residents that looked over at the creature were shocked and looked over at it

"What... what is it?"
"I don't know..."

"I dare you to touch it."

"What! NO!"

"Vekta and Earth will protect us from whatever that is... right?"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lucas and Echo were a fair distance away but trying to figure out what to do next.

@Raynar Saassin

Then all of a sudden, more and more of them started to appear behind the original one.

More and more...

Even more and even more...

Until suddenly... They attacked!

Before everyone knew it, entire swarms of those little creatures attacked every resident and soldier in the area, aiming to latch onto them! They moved quite fast and jumped at every second possible to get closer to their targets.

@dark

There was hidden droves of "WHAT THE FUCK!" from various ISA soldiers trying to backup and shoot the small little creatures who tried to latch themselves to the men and women's bodies.

Residents started to scream "AHHHHHHH! HELP US! HELP US!"

@Raynar Saassin

Unfortunately for a few of the Soldiers, there were far too many for them to shoot all at once...

A few even managed to latch onto their targets bodies and proceeded to latch themselves onto them! They would find their life slowly draining until they would fall to the ground dead. Then they'd start to mutate until eventually...

188

They got up, and revealed that they were not themselves anymore... Instead, they were some kind of mesh between themselves and organic life, almost like.. a parasite. These forms would also grab the weapon that their target was wielding, and somehow learn to use them itself! Some would even not have weapons at all and ran at quick speeds towards the other residents and soldiers, proceeding to wack them repeatedly while the smaller looking creatures just kept on coming and coming!

@dark

Those who got attacked were now a blend of orange and greenish soldiers and strange organic mixes as the residents screamed and the other ISA soldiers were screaming out orders to the others. "COME ON!" "SHOOT SHOOT!"

The ISA soldiers kept shooting but those damn things just kept coming.

"Earth.. ANYBODY! HELP!"

A transmission went out to whomever would listen.

@Raynar Saassin

Meanwhile . . . . .

320

"What's taking so long? Surely a jump made by the Parasite is traceable." "We're taking some time trying to correctly decipher it, Shipmaster. It's hard to detect it when it's launched into a entirely new un-mapped location!" "Well work harder! That parasite could be growing stronger and stronger by the second. We need to find them quickly!"

latest

"Shipmaster. You called?" "Arbiter. Yes. We're tracking the source of that jump, and so far nothing's coming up." "I see. The Demon has already dealt with the Prophet and is rounding up surviving Covenant that have thrown weapons down." "Then this war is over. Thank the gods---." "Shipmaster! Incoming Transmission. Unidentified Source." "Play it."

"Earth.. ANYBODY! HELP!"

"Hmm... Sounds like the human's sending out a distress call. But the Flood in the area were already wiped out due to only some debris landing from it's initial arrival. Unless---" "Shipmaster, using the transmission we found the source of the jump, we're preparing for Slipspace now!" "Make the jump, immediately. The humans are in danger, and this parasite must be the course. All cruisers, fall in line, standard formation."

The Flood however, was continuing to infect Citizen after Citizen, Soldier after Soldier as the parasite continued consuming the lives of people in the City of Vekta. The atmosphere continued getting dark and mucky as the Parasite grew and grew, gaining more and more forms and intelligence. It spread so quickly... Almost half the city now was converted and it only continued getting faster and faster...

Until...

Their transmission was answered.

320

From the area around the crash-site, several unknown ships appeared, including one much larger variant as the fleet began launching ships towards the Flood Infested sections of the city. A transmission could be heard by the ISA and by all types of communication device:

"Hail humans and take heed. This is the Cruiser, Shadow of Intent. Clear this sector, while we deal with the Parasite."

Ship after Ship was being launched from each frigate and including the extremely large ship which was indicated by the transmission labelled: "Shadow of Intent" and the Frigates themselves began firing some kind of beam from their fronts onto the flood-transformed city blocks.
