It had been 3 Midaaron weeks since the last promising star system had proved to be a false alarm. On board of the Bogyet, the first manned Midaaron spacecraft travelling outside of the Midaaron Realm, the crew had already started to get a little nervous - and sad at the same time. Life simply didn't seem to exist so far from the homely shores. There had been many planets situated in the habitual zones of their suns and still orbited their stars without life. One empty rock followed by another - are we a single Oasis of life after all?
The Bogyet, a circular spacecraft, 5 kilometers in diameter with a tube strength of approximately 500 meters, silently listened to the sound of the universe. On every possible channel the antennae were set out to find even the tiniest bit of non-natural information or emission proving that other intelligent life was out there.
And suddenly, there was life.
The noise seemed random at first, but soon, it was clear that it couldn't have been of purely natural origin. The Rebet decoders of the vast vessel started working on how to make sense of the clearly modulated pieces of information registered by the ship's fine equipment.
Orter, the Second Scientific Leader of the crew, had the idea of triangulating the position of the source of the noise and soon, the Bogyet was on its way.
Over time, the waves incoming became stronger and stronger and not long after, sensors picked up a clear candidate for the signals: a twin system with planets of which at least one had three moons.
Rebus, the ship's official leader in questions of first contact scenarios, decided to hide the big starship in the near of the neighbouring star. The plan was to send a smaller, not so intimidating spacecraft to the twin system to do research and explore the newfound life.
The crew was in high spirits. In the end, after another day, the 52 meters long exploration vessel was manned by both Rebus the Midaaron Ambassador and Maggi, his Rebet friend and personal assistant. Maggi set course for the twin system and the two suns quickly grew in size. The final destination should be the world with 3 moons.
