The Races
  • Human The normal people of the realm. And the most numerous, while magic does flow through their veins like all the races they are not known for their mastery of the craft.
  • Elves The most long-lived of all the races they are bound by laws of magic to never speak falsely. More Fair than most humans there Culture is based on the balance of nature.
  • Islanders The second longest-lived race they can live to a few centuries. They see the world through snake-like eyes. And both their blood and saliva are one of the most deadly poisons known to the realms. While they don't have the refined beauty of the Elves they have a Savage pull to them.
Ivory Citadel
Historians and the Mages themselves don't know who originally built the Citadel. It is make out of an unknown white rock that eats magic. Making it the best place to use magic that could go out of control. It is located in the middle of the Demons Spine mountains. It has never fallen from an army in living memory.

High Mages and Ivory Citadel Traditions
The Ranks of the Mages go as follows Grand Master, High Mages, Master Mages, Students. And the Ungifted.
To climb the Ranks from student to Master. A trial must be held normally on the Fest of Darkness. The longest night of the year. Where the skills of the student are tested against their life. If they live and show mastery of their chosen field of study they are given the title of Master Mage. To Climb from master to High Mage. They must either be named by the previous High Mage. Take it to trial by combat. Or lastly used if a High Mage has died suddenly. Voted into office by the other Masters of the field. But no High Mage can be a High mage of two fields of study . Nor do to tradition can an Elf hold office other than in Druid craft. Elven Song Magic. Nor can they be Grandmaster. Due to the Fact of their extremely long lifespan. Though they do hold the highest rank among the High Mages.
The Ungifted also have a voice in the chambers of the Grand Master. The High Ungifted there are two people who have that title. The High Ungifted of Coin, Who balances the treasury of the Ivory Citadel. And the High Ungifted Of Swords. The commander of the Citadel's Guard and men at arms. Though they have no guards in the Mage quarter. Only what is known as the common grounds.

The Ivory Citadel
The City Is split the large castle that sticks out of the mountain is known as the Mage quarter is a sprawling area filled with classrooms, shops and barracks for the Students. and the large central tower is known as The Dragons tooth. The Dragons Tooth hold all the quarters of Master Mages when they are not traveling. The High Mages Offices and quarters. And on the top three floors, there is the Grand Masters Chambers. The Grandmasters Office. and His quarters.
The Common
This is where you can find all of the other people who call this place home. Smiths Taverns shops and if you know where to find it the red corridor. Known for satisfying the appetites of all comers.
Current opening High Mages Students graduates and Ungifted.

For the elves, by "never speak falsely," do you mean they can't say something which is not true, they can't say something they believe is false, or they can only say things they believe to be true?
 
it's not really an oath. It's more along the lines of elven magic. That they can't communicate a lie, whether that means in word or any other way. They are utterly incapable of telling a lie.
