After several events of growing magnitude, the world is devastated and mankind is unexistent... or is it?

Even before opening xer eyes, Asta could feel the machinery stirring around xer, and hear the gears of the old mechanisms churning and turning until the gate to the water shelter was open. Xe opened xer eyes to see the opening of the entrance and exit tunnel before xer eyes and shifted awkwardly, xer body still somewhat lethargic from hibernation to crawl through it and to the outside world.

The rain droplets could still be heard against the different pipes and metallic surfaces that were found in abundance around the industrial complex that xe had decided to stay in, even though xe separated from xer family to do so. They had wanted to keep going and xe refused, curiosity killed the scavenger. Here at the city xe had water, plenty of food to collect or hunt, and the predators, while dangerous, could be fought or escaped without unnecessary complications. Lizards and pole plants were never that big of an issue, and vultures were only on the outer parts of the complex echosystem, which weren't visited often. Open spaces made Asta feel small and vulnerable, and xe navigated them swiftly.

Exiting the shelter's tunnel xe stood up and stirred, sliding down a pipe to collect a few hanging fruits xe knew must have grown already since the last cycle. No lizards on sight just yet besides a green one at the bottom, but them big lazy reptiles weren't usually a major concern.

Jay was awoken by the sound of her shelter opening and shifting. She stretched lazily, many of her joints popping as she did so. There was a crick in her neck from her hibernation, but by the time the tunnel opened, she felt ready to go. Climbing through the tunnel, she would peek out carefully before exiting and searching for food.

Her first appraisal spotted the big lizard... and then another person, standing not too far off. Jay shrunk back into the tunnel, appraising the other creature. It was too soon to have to fight for food, but that was in her mind. Who knew what was in the stranger's mind. She waited to see what the human would do.

Unaware of the second human's presence, Asta slid down the pipe until she could reach the blue fruits, three of them. Xe ate two right then and there with big bites until there was nothing left of the fruit besides the seeds. Then, she threw them at the lizard in a mocking gesture and started climbing back up the pole again.

However, a pink lizard had better ideas, as it leaped from a higher plataform in order to catch Asta, and failing to close it's filthy and hungry jaws around her arm. It fell down right onto the green lizard, who proceeded to attack ghe pink ish one. They'd be entertained enough with that.

She wore her dark brown hair short, uneven, cut with sharp metallic objects. But being sho short it didn't get stuck anywhere and it was easy to take care of. Her skin was covered by a thin, for now, layer of dirt, her hands bandaged with a material that looked like a strange kind of skin Jay wouldn't have seen before. They were bandaged at the palms to her with the movement up and down the poles, and it was the same with the feet. Her chest was uncovered for now until she managed to kill a lizard or another animal that could provide thick skin to protect it, and around her waist she wore a short ish, comfortable enough to wear pelt.
Her arms and legs were covered in light hair/fur, brown like the one on her head.

She was now clinging to a nearby pole as she had jumped to avoid the lizard, and her hazel eyes met Jay's. Widening with a mix of surprise and curiosity.

Hazel eyes met green unblinking ones. Jay didn't even jump when she realized she'd been seen, caught. Instead, she lay very still. Maybe the other human hadn't seen her? Maybe if she didn't move, didn't blink, didn't breathe then she wouldn't be noticed.

When it was clear that the darker haired female had seen Jay, the other woman straightened out, studying the other human. Friend, foe, or indifferent? It was hard to tell. Green orbs kept flickering from the stranger to the different ways she could make an escape, if necessary. A pole, back to the stranger, go down and face the lizards, back to the stranger, to the right, back to the stranger.

Asta thought the other human was a scavenger for a second. It was hard to tell from just the face. However, after s few seconds looking at each other eye to eye, and after checking that the lizards were still fighting fighting each other. What xe discovered was that the green lizard was now dragging the pink one towards it shelter, to store it for later as they always did, most likely.

After a quick check out of their surroundings xe slowly climbed closer to the other human and, as a peace offer, xe offered xer last blue fruit. extending xer hand towards tunnel's entrance where the other was hiding.

Jay shrunk back, away from the extended hand until she caught sight of what was being offered. Timidly she reached forward and accepted the fruit before retreating some distance to quietly eat the fruit. She should say thank you, or say something but she was still assessing the situation.

She ate the fruit quickly and then peered out to say what had become of the lizards. They were both gone and her shoulders relaxed. "Hi." She addressed the stranger.

The other girl hung on to a pole just in front of the tunnel's entrance. Xe forced a smile. This was her territory. Not that she'd marked it or anything but humans didn't pass by often, mostly because there weren't many left and wherever the others were... probably far away. Xe opted for the nice route, perhaps they could team up, it was never a bad plan... perhaps this other girl knew something interesting. So many possibilities Xe was almost excited.

"Hi... err... are you staying in the territory?" Xe asked, curious.

Jay shrugged one shoulder and then after a moment's hesitation nodded. "You?" She asked.

It had been a long time since she'd interacted with anyone or anything who wasn't trying to kill her. This was a first in a long time and she wasn't entirely sure how to proceed. She was still cautious, but she wasn't exactly looking for an escape route at the moment, so that was a positive.
