A city that had been built and constantly advancing even before demons had come to Earth to form Haven. The city is nearly about the same size as Haven if not just slightly larger as it resides in the center of the world hovering above both land and water. Originally, when humans and demons had once lived together in peace after the treaty had been signed, this city had demons and humans walk the same streets together without any problems but now the city mainly consists of humans everywhere. The demons that had once lived here had either been run out of the city by protesters, killed one way or another, escaped the city to live on their own or reach Haven, if not they are in hiding somewhere in the city trying to avoid being caught.
The city is also where the main headquarters of an organization known as the Ash Wolves resides. While the public and local authorities are unaware of it, the Ash Wolves protect the city while at the same time are on the constant hunt for demons all while attempting to find out more information as to where Haven is.
The predecessor to the Ash Wolves, Black Cross' goal was more or less the same as it is now with the new group; hunt down demons but as well as all other super natural beings that are considered a threat to humanity. The core concept of the Black Cross was that all super natural beings were a threat to humanity and there was no such thing as an 'innocent' monster or demon yet there were still members among the group that sympathized some of the creatures even if they still had their job to do.
Much unlike the Ash Wolves, the Black Cross were very well known and supported by the public to the point that they took in recruits wherever they could gain new members. They did not however report to any particular government higher ups just as the new group does as well, rather they report straight to the Vatican directly.
Due to the group focused mainly around the Church and not reporting to any form of government by choice, their equipment and technology were not as high tech as it is now with the Ash Wolves. The church crafted each piece of gear by hand so whatever they made was meant to only doing one particular job rather than with military gear being able to do multiple things at once.
Although the group was founded around the 20th century, it was well known among all the nations that the Black Cross group came to a collapse about a decade ago due to increasing amounts of sympathizers towards demons till eventually members began to leave one after another and soon forcing the group to disband and relinquish leadership to the local authorities.
The Ash Wolves is a group of humans who have gathered together for the same exact purpose; to kill all demons. It is unknown as to when this group was founded though every member in the group has their own story as to what reason they want to kill demons, very few of them care about who is or isn't 'innocent' as many of them believe all demons are nothing more than bloodthirsty killers. The group is not public knowledge to other humans and it is not something you simply decide to sign up and join at any point, they are a covert special operations group that find their members and take them in personally.
Not everyone that ends up joining have any skills whatsoever in any field so once they join they begin to learn their own skills of what they wish to know and eventually become masters at what they do. They do not work for any military or follow any sort of government higher-ups though they still are able to 'find' themselves top grade weaponry that consist from the self driving tanks, helicopters, as well as heavy ordnance.
The main headquarters of Ash Wolves is located underneath the city of Lost Bastion; while it is unknown to the public that this exists, the members of the Ash Wolves protect the entire city from here. They are not publicly open to recruit people but rather watch individuals who they believe will make a great difference by how they act everyday, whether it is to help the weak or even simply their physical activities. When they spot an individual who they believe has the potential to join the organization, two members will approach the person and hand them a card telling them that they are invited to make a difference in the world against demons and to go to a certain location.
Within the headquarters, there are plenty of housing for every person and even a fake sky and climate changes to make the idea that they are under the city not so obvious. Also within the facility, there are plenty of other living luxuries such as restaurants, gyms, and other things to do; these also include shooting ranges and training centers.
While the headquarters is the largest branch of the Ash Wolves, there are plenty of other branches scattered throughout the world to make sure that other Ash Wolves are able to do their job to hunt down demons all throughout the world.
