To the south of the mighty kingdoms of Zeelow and Araucollem lie rolling hills and jungles, buckled and cracked with treacherous canyons, pierced by mountains that dare reach the heavens. Within its emerald clutches lie flora and fauna never imagined by man, and only through thousands of years and multiple civilizations have the lands of Lyris been tamed.
Government
Loose hegemonic feudalism at best, decentralized nightmare at its worst. As the nickname of land implies, each petty lord controls a small parcel of land, who along with several others is vassal to a higher lord, all the way up to the king of Lyris. Each lord is only truly loyal to the lord above him, and infighting between smaller factions as they vie for power is constant and never-ending.
The current ruling house is house Jun, who have been in power for decades under Jun Xiang, though as he ages, his vassals are positioning themselves to come next.
Viga, the City of Stone
Commonly referred to as Viga, the capitol of Lyris is rumored to be thousands of years old. Within lies the palace that the king of Lyris calls home, as well as the nation's largest military stronghold. Unlike the other kingdoms, Viga is not their most populous city, but there are still countless people, from peasants to nobility, that live and work within.
Hunters
In a land as treacherous and vast as Lyris, brave men and women dedicated their lives to making the countryside livable. Nowadays, the Hunters perform any number of tasks, from the mundane messenger work to investigating strange events that the local lords refuse to touch. Being a Hunter commands great respect from the people of Lyris, even if one is a foreigner, and is a common place for bastards and nobles far from the line of succeeding a title as well as peasants and lowborn wishing to move upwards in the world.
