Why hello there! Come to read my poetry? You have! That's lovely! Please tell me what you think and if you would like more! Thanks!

Mirror, Mirror
By Elysia

Mirror, Mirror On the wall
Who is the fairest of them all

Mirror, Mirror On the wall
I don’t understand them all

And what they don’t understand
Is the mirror traps us all
For you don’t have to be inside a mirror
To be trapped in a mirror

To be trapped in a mirror is no longer sorcery
In fact it is quite common now
Think of all the people
All the people who stare at their reflection
And dislike what they see
The people who base their happiness
Solely on their looks
People who don’t enjoy life
Because they don’t enjoy their appearance

The mirror imprisons every
One
Of
Us
But we can break free from its trap
You must learn
To not look at yourself with hatred and heartbreak
You can hurt yourself trying to change your looks with your hands

You need to learn
That if you dislike yourself
Enough to hate and harm
Yourself, you are
As trapped
As your
Reflection

Why don’t you have a look
A meander through history
See anyone who changed the world
Simply by being beautiful?
No?
Good.
You shouldn’t because
No one has
Don’t let something as trivial as appearance
Get in your way

Does a daisy
Need the permission
Of a rose
To bloom?
No?
Well then, neither do you
Only idiots listen by looking
If people don’t hear you
Scream
If the silence you
Write your message with fire.
