Leon was silent as they walked to the dining hall, is mind a wash of thoughts and fuzzy memories. Trying to make sense of last night, when did Hroth leave? Where is he now? Where is one of the counselors? Why was the dog killed?

Suddenly there was a deafening Roar, What The Fock Is That? Leon was startled as he looked about the camp, not able to see the source of said roar. He started sprinting before he knew it, trying to get to the kitchen as fast as he could. Not waiting for anyone else, not looking back, he just ran.
What was going on? This has to be some sort of joke, right? Monsters weren't real, they were just stories that he heard.

This can't be happening.

Nico didn't scream. Maybe he should have, but he didn't think to. He stared, transfixed, at the huge goop creature that emerged from the trees at the edge of the camp as it lumbered towards them.

And then the noise. It was awful, deafening, and Nico clapped his hands over his ears on instinct. When he saw Klaus sprinting towards them and Leon making a break for the kitchens, only then did enough sense return to him to tell him to move. "Run!" he shouted to the group at large, sprinting towards the shelter of the kitchens. They wouldn't be safe there, he was sure, the flimsy wooden building wouldn't be a match for the monster, but it was a damn shot better than staying out where they were.

Eliza was checking on Izzy, "You alright?" She asked the younger girl, but before she could have a chance to reply there was a yell from Klaus and a very non-human sound. She didn't even bother to look at her shoulder; that's how you die. Instead, she grabbed Izzy's hand and started running. Naomi was a runner, she wasn't worried about her, but she felt the sudden need to protect the young girl.

Claire started shoving the children toward the kitchens, "Go!" She demanded, staying behind to make sure that Klaus reached them safely. Not that she had a weapon if he didn't, but she wasn't about to leave a camper behind.

Izzy was just about to reply when she was cut off by a yell, she didn't recognise whose just that it was one of the boys, and a scream that definitely did not come from the throat of a human. She didn't even have time to look behind her because before she knew it, she felt Eliza take hold of her hand. Then they were running. Her ears rang from the monster's cry, she could barely process what was happening, but she ran. She was small and her legs were short, but she was nimble and kept up with the older girl.

It may not have occurred to her now, but it was fortunate Eliza had been there. Otherwise, she probably would have stood there rooted to the spot in fear.

Everything seemed to be happening from a perspective outside his body. He could see himself, and all the others, but the world was silent. Deathly so. The severity of what was happening wasn't lost on him, far from it. Tony was just having trouble figuring out what to do. What he could do. Even though he couldn't hear the directions, or at least remember hearing them, he'd join the group in the dining hall, hands still shaking, puffing away at his cigarette. When was he going to get more? Had to be soon, probably. Maybe the counselors would take them to a the closest town. Or city. Or something. They couldn't exactly stay here. Even if it meant walking, who cared?

Tony would eye each one of the campers, taking in what they were doing, trying to understand what they were saying, but nothing was registering in his brain. It was focused solely on the mundane instead of the terror. If he gave into his fear, he'd get nothing done. He'd die like that mutt. He wasn't going to let that happen, no matter what. Slowly, the noise started to come back. He was calming down. It had to be the cigarette, had to be. He was so convinced that he briefly reconsidered quitting.

Unfortunately, the first thing he heard once sound came back to his world was the screams. Its scream.

Without a second's hesitation, he would run off in the same direction Izzy and Eliza were headed, even scooping up the much younger girl if she didn't struggle at all on his way. Eliza would be faster without dragging the brat around, and she'd have a better idea where to go than he would. Which meant she could lead him somewhere that would definitely be safe. Somewhere had to be. Until help came.

Right?

following Abel, everyone made it to the kitchens. Everyone except one kid, however, by the time he made it to the kitchens Claire had ran in and the doors were closed.
They were all scared, they were all trembling or shaking and breathless from the rush.

When the horripilant screaming finally came to an end, the loud thuds that the monster made as it trotted towards the kitchens started being heard after them. It couldn't see them as it didn't have eyes, but it's scream, which started back up in mere seconds, allowed it to know its surroundings by echolocation.
Whether listening to the monster was more or less scary than listening to the loud bangs on the door that Davids fists made, and his screams for help as he begged his friends and caretakers to open the door to the kitchens and let him in, save his life... was subjective to say the least. For Klaus it was Davids screaming, for Abel, neither David nor the monster mattered enough to scare him, even though he looked the part.

By the time someone attempted to open the door for David, they could all see through the recently half opened door as the goop monster, with its gigantic mouth and its lack of eyes, seeping dark slime as it chomped down on the terrified kid. His screams were drowned as the goop clogged his mouth and face, drowning the sounds as the first thing to go into it's mouth was his head. The goop pup then pulled up and lifted David's body, closing its jaws around it further with a sound that could probably be Davids head being crushed. However, none of them had ever heard the sound a skull being shattered and mixing with whatever could be left of the brain and various sensory organs, such as the ocular globes, so it wasn't like they could ever tell.

The first one to react after staring for two seconds and cringing, because he'd been in similar situations before, was Klaus. He dashed forwards and slammed the door shut. resting his back against it because after that image, he was feeling a bit sick and lightheaded.

Hroth was missing.
Hope was missing.
Sunshine was dead.

Once they made it into the building, Claire coming in last as she'd waited for Klaus, and pulled the door shut behind them. Then she did another quick head count. They were still missing... David. "Where's David?" Eliza asked at the same time as Claire realized he wasn't with them. The redhead's eyes looked worried for her friend.

David hadn't woken up with the rest and a second later... She heard the pounding on the door and his scream for help. Claire was quick to lunge forward and try to open the door. There stood that... thing chomping down on one of her campers. Her responsibility.

She could still save him.

She tried to lunge forward, pull him to freedom... her mind wasn't processing that it was too late, too late, too late.

And then the door was slammed shut, beat there by Klaus. "Move," She demanded, trying to pull the kid out of the way. She had to save him. There was still time. She was physically trying to get around Klaus, now, trying to open the door.

Eliza's green eyes were wide as she saw her summer-time best friend being chewed up to bits, just before her eyes. "... Claire."

"No, I have to help him."

"What the hell is going on?" Gloria, the camp cook, stood staring at them all. Half the kids were still in the pajamas and they all looked terrified. She'd been calmly cooking breakfast when they'd all come running into the kitchens, dressed for sleep. With her headphones removed, she could hear the screaming. She didn't tremble in fear, instead turning around and from behind a counter she grabbed a small hatchet. "New them feckers would be coming around eventually..."

"WH-" One moment she was running just a few steps behind Eliza and the next moment her feet were no longer touching the ground. She let out a startle yell and shifted a bit before realising that it wasn't a monster that was carrying her off. It was Tony. Normally, Izzy would've protested. She could run by herself just fine! But this wasn't a normal situation and she was in too much

Before she knew it they were in the building. All of them, except for David. Bile rose up her throat as she saw and heard David being crushed by the amorphous creature outside the building. She squirmed out of the older boy's hold and headed straight to a corner of the room. In the end, holding in everything she'd eaten the night before was all in vain.

Naomi blundered into the kitchen, nearly crashing into a bin. She might have been an endurance runner first, but she could still sprint. She watched everyone else run in, and for a moment, thought that they were maybe safe. Then the screaming started, not from the monster, but from another teenager.

She pressed the ball of her hands into her eyes, leaning into the wall beside her. She slid down onto the ground, refusing to look up from her knees. From the corner of her eye, she could see the door being open, and vaguely, something flailing inside a mess of black goo. She squeezed her eyes shut, not wanting to see even the slightest hint of what was going on past that goddamn door. She lifted her head to see a woman wielding what looked like a small axe. She soon enough recognised her as the cook, but she couldn't remember her name. Her gaze went to the axe again. Could that little thing really stop what was going on outside?

Nico couldn't look away as David was... oh, God, as David was eaten by the thing. The older boy had been, well, not his friend, really, there hadn't been time for that, but they might have been friends. In another world, one where summer camp hadn't become a monster death trap. He wanted to protest along with Claire as Klaus slammed the door shut, but he knew it was already too late.

As the cook pulled out a handaxe, Nico started to laugh, high pitched and hysterical. "We're all gonna fucking die," he muttered, cutting the laugh off as he realized what he was doing. "Oh my god, we're all going to fucking. Die."

Leon had no time to stop once he made it inside, his head going a million mile a minute. Quickly shoving his hands into his jacket, he would fish the keys out, jingling as they were let loose from their confines. Paying zero attention to the confused gaze of Gloria, he raced to the back door fidgeting with the various keys, "Which one, which one Damnit. I don't ave any Focking time for this Shite." Finally finding the right one, he would try to lock the back door as fast as her could. Just as he was turning the key to the lock position he began to hear the screams, someone pounding at the front before nothing but silence and the other campers screaming. After the door finally locked he would take the keys and begin looking for the tool cabinet key, hoping there was something left to use. Something to protect himself with. This isn't happening, this is just some drunk/drugged fueled nightmare, His thoughts pounded as his heart tried to break free from his chest.

As soon as Izzy was out of his arms, Tony would begin to pace, reaching into his pockets for one of, one of the last three cigarettes he owned. Everyone would hear him mumbling to himself as he shook like his was having a mild seizure, making his attempt to light the cancer stick almost impossible.

"No,no,no fuckthis it can't be happening nah I got a band to get back to I cantdie like this..."

Eventually it would just dissolve into a string of curses and sharp inhalations once his dependency was finally aflame, with Tony leaving a trail of smoke as he moved about the confined space, clutching at his head and tittering on the brink of temporary insanity.

Klaus couldn't deal with the madness, everyone was freaking out... with reason!, but he couldn't deal with it.
He glanced at an amused Abel and huffed, sick bastard. He shoved Claire back.
"STOP, oh my god!" He'd give her an apologetic glance, but David was dead and going for him only meant dying. At least walking up to the monster like that did.
They needed to organise, and keep their blood cold, like Gloria. Thera was one goop mutt, and one... two... three...
More than enough of them to take it down, they just had to think.

"Can we just. Everyone grab a weapon, preferable something you can use to cut??. We can't stay here all day" if he was in their place he would probably BE freaking out as well. But luckily he wasn't.

Outside, the monster swallowed David and if it had a tongue it would have licked jts also unexistant lips.
After glomping down David's corpse it started screaming again, surrounding the kitchens building and searching for either an entrance or a spot that would give out if it pushed hard enough.

Meanwhile in a corner of the room Abel was covering his face with his hands. He seemed to just be still in his own paranoia induced by panic. His shoulders were shaking with apparent sobs, but he was really just trying with all of his strenght not to start cackling, laughing out loud. This was so ridiculous and pathetic that it was hilarious at the same time. Just like one of those bad jokes that are just that bad, that they are the best thing ever. Everyone was so scared, the chaos... everything. Of course it was going along with the plan, and they still had a couple too many kids and a few too many counselors to procede to the next phase. The goop would find its way in soon enough~.

Claire finally stopped trying to save David. It was too late. She put the palm of her hand to her forehead and breathed deeply. David was gone. Hope and Hroth are missing, probably dead. The dog was dead and somehow that was even more fucked up.

Their cars were gone and they had no way out. Abel was in the corner, shoulders shaking. Eliza had her back pressed up against the wall and had slid to the floor, hugging her knees eyes squeezed shut. She was whispering something, but it was too quiet for anyone to hear.

It felt like the walls were closing in.

Gloria was the only one who seemed calm. The old woman took her small axe and more or less shoved Leon out of the way, snatching her keys back. She'd deal with him later. Then she unlocked the door, yanked it open, and the second the goop pup was in her sight she threw the axe, with surprising strength and accuracy for a woman of her age, aiming straight for the neck as the creature poked it's... snout... at the wall of the kitchens.

Dry heaving, the girl stared blankly at the mess splattered all over the floor. There was nothing left for her to throw up. In the background, she could hear Klaus' voice...he was saying something, but she couldn't make it out. All the sounds and noises around her were melding into each other into a muffled indistinguishable mess. Everything sounded like she was underwater her head had been dunked into a raging sea. No, no. She couldn't just stay frozen like this. She had to do something, didn't she?

Breathe in. Breathe out. Stabilize. She couldn't stop her twitching, but she could try to calm down inwardly. With tears pricking her eyes, Izzy turned around just in time to see Gloria attacking the creature with an axe. Her breathe caught in her throat. Now that she could see more of the monster, it seemed...goopy. It really didn't seem like the type of thing that could be cut up with a blade. She wiped her mouth on her pajama sleeves and got up. Now that was a start....

Klaus gasped and followed Gloria, mad woman, she couldn't possibly...
oh.
He watched in horror as she threw her smallish axe towards the creature's neck. It went through part of the goop pup, but it also became stuck in the gelatinous meat under the outer goop layers.
The teen sighed, he'd done this before. Knowing that as long as the monster let out its horripilant scream from pain and attempting to locate its attackers, he would be safe, he grabbed the Axe and pulled. The weapon was stained black and the monster didn't bleed. It almost bit him, Klaus, but surprisingly enough the goop pup only snapped its jaws before Klauses face. It didn't bite him... purposefully. The boy muttered a row of quiet "sorry" As he shifted and started attacking its neck instead.
Gloria's throw had almost killed it already, two more weaker hits had the head separated from the body and the monster dissolving in a pile of tar. Klaus was left standing in part of it, the vicous material flooding up to his shins. He hadn't killed one of these before, hence the constant apologies.

Gloria had been the witness, though. The monster hadn't fought for its life. It had practically let Klaus murder him. However, no one else would have been looking. If they came out now there was only Klaus standing in the pile of goop, holding the Axe, with a sad look on his face. Perhaps the monster had been in too much pain to even recognise the threat?.

Nico slowly stood up, staring wide-eyed at Klaus and Gloria. "Y-you killed it," he said, amazed. "I didn't know you even could kill those things with a blade."

His bunkmate looked sad, which Nico chalked up to a reaction over David. Klaus had been right there to see it happen. Nico felt a little guilty, but sadness wasn't his primary emotion right then, it was more abject terror. Maybe Klaus was just a better person than he was.

"So- we can fight them," he said slowly. "But there aren't that many of us, and we don't have real weapons. We have to get back to civilization, and- and warn people. There are phones out here, aren't there? They can send someone to help us."

Gloria did not have time for people who would apologize for killing a threat. She harrumphed as she snatched her hatchet back and marched back into the building, nearly shutting the door on Klaus if he did not follow behind fast enough. She said nothing to anyone, just headed back for the kitchen. There was still breakfast to be had, and they would be needing their strength.

Claire exchanged a look with Abel at Nico's question and then looked back at all the terrified and, for some, sick faces. "The problem... All the cars are gone, all the phones and any way of communication we had... gone." The monsters had organized. "We do need to get into town, but that's... several hours of a walk, maybe an entire day and if the monsters are not in the zone." She hated to scare them further, but they all needed to face the reality of the situation: they were on their own. "We can just go running around willy-nilly. There needs to be a plan, we have to figure out what weapons we have..." and who had any kind of skill. Gloria and Klaus, apparently.

Eliza was freaking the fuck out. But she also knew she did not want to die. That was the one thing that had kept her from going into hysterics. I don't want to die, I don't want to die. It would be her mantra, the thing to push her forward when she'd want to give up. "So... what do we do?" She looked to see if anyone had a suggestion. Of any kind.

Tony had no clue what to do. Or what had just happened. Or even what was currently happening in this fucking camp anymore! He was lost in his own little world, and he couldn't exactly pull himself out of it. Not without his music or some booze or something, anything that made sense to him! There was no way in hell he was going to leave this food hall until those things were gone! Did they want to fight them? I mean, sure, one had just gone down, he had watched from the window, and had almost dropped his cigarette in the process!

But did they want to fight more of them? Fuck that! F U C K T H A T!

If anyone tried to put a weapon in his hand, or get him to move out of his little corner, Tony's only response would be a headbutt to the bridge of their nose. No. He was staying. Staying until it was night time, and he could make it back to his own bungalow, lock the door, and just...stay there, until the camp time was over, and his dad came to pick him up. For once he actually looked forward to seeing that stupid, arrogant, womanizing prick.

Leon was frantically digging through the cabinets while the others were freaking out, not allowing himself to lose focus on figuring things out. Grabbing the old portable burners he would rip the small shields off of them and unscrew the small fuel lines. Collecting as many as he could, however, in his haste he ripped a few. Streaming a constant line of swearing he would grab burner after burner, repeating the process of each before gaining a sort of rhythm. In total he was able to successfully unscrew four without tearing, just tossing the broken ones with the burners behind him.

As that beast of a woman Gloria rushed to the back door, Leon would start moving to the next cabinet. Gloria paying him no attention as he trashes through the kitchen, both seemingly oblivious to each other in the ensuing chaos. He would be going through the various tubs and boxes, each with various utensils and objects. Picking up things he though could be useful, setting them to the work counter beside him. He would just pick up the entire tub of knives and shove it onto the counter, making a sort of inventory of the various possibilities.

Leon would Slightly flinch as Klaus hacked away at the creature, the screeching making him shudder. Just have to focus, just have to get a plan. Fock this shite. He rummaged through the cabinets collecting any spare cans of fuel he could, finding a few catering candles along with them. His best find he as he shuffled through the tubs and boxes was a two handled cheese knife, roughly the size of a large machete. He would give it a couple of practice swings, the weight of the other handle adding to the swing. Better than nothin.
