Andrew's parents were killed during a robbery at a gas station, and he was sent to an orphanage, where he lived for about three years before being adopted by an elderly couple, Lucy and Isaac Warner. He did well in school, and graduated most grades at the top of his class. When he was 17, he went to college, earning his scholarship in forensics. He moved to Metropolis, getting a job at The Daily Planet as an investigative reporter. He met Elizabeth Miller, a reporter who also worked there. He married her when he was 22, and when he was 25, Elizabeth gave birth to a girl, who they named Jade. Since they were usually busy, they often hired a babysitter to watch her. When Andrew was 30, Elizabeth was killed when General Zod attacked Metropolis. Andrew quit his job as a reporter, and became a private eye. He has solved many cases, and became well known for his skills.
