Next Gen Superheroes & Villains IC

We begin in the heart of New York- New York City. Although not much has changed over the years, science and technology has advanced as superhumans have populated the country and have given us useful tools and knowledge. Why these superhumans came to Earth remains different for each individual. While most humans have come to accept these superhumans, others are not so welcoming. It is for that very reason that superhumans keep their powers hidden in public unless there is a threat.

Sky sat at her desk in the office of her apartment. She glanced at the time on her laptop screen. It was already 1:00 pm. She let out a sigh as she saved her work and shut her laptop screen. She had been at it trying to find any leads on Gwenovier since 8:30 am. She rubbed her eyes as she walked over to the window. Her apartment was a tall building and she had a view of the city. She stared out the window and thought to herself, 'You're trying too hard...You haven't had any leads since November and it's January. Maybe you should go out and clear your head. After all, when was the last time you took a break?' She hadn't had any leads on Gwenovier since December and that trail went cold. She went and changed into some casual clothing, wearing dark jeans, a plum colored t-shirt and a lightweight jacket. She walked out of her apartment building and walked the streets. She never liked living in New York City but this was where he leads to Gwen had led her. She walked past a newspaper stand, the cover of today's paper catching her eye. "Anonymous Strikes Again!" She picked up a copy to read while she continued walking. She was feeling a slight bit unusual as she walked. She figured she'd get a drink before hitting the gym. She looked around for the nearest bar. A neon sign that read, 'Tilly's Sports Bar and Grill' caught her attention. She began walking that way, being observant of her surroundings. She walked in and was greeted by 10 flat screen tv's and the stench of beer and cigarettes. It didn't suit her lifestyle but she really wanted a drink. She took a seat at the bar and glanced over the menu. She proceeded to order a margarita before pulling out the newspaper she had picked up earlier. She couldn't help but smile and chuckle a little as the newspaper made her out to be a superhero. She didn't see herself as such. She only saw that she was stopping bad people from doing bad things. Her drink came and she sipped it slowly as she kept reading.

Spencer had slept in since he had a late shift at work today. After waking up, he took a long hot shower to get him going. When he got out of the shower he began to comb his hair and shave whatever stubble was on his face. He proceeded to put on his white work scrub pants and a solid white t shirt. He decided he'd put on his white coat when he actually clocked in for work. In the meantime, he was hungry and ready for breakfast. He got in his black Chrysler and drove to Rosita's Cafe. It was nothing fancy, just a simple cafe that he enjoyed visiting once a week or so. He found himself a small table with a window by the front door. He skimmed over the menu even though he already knew what he was going to order. When his waitress arrived, he ordered a small coffee and a ham and cheese croissant with a side of toast. His waitress was quick to bring his coffee and informed him it would be a moment for his food. He would give a polite nod and smile and tell her that it was no rush. He tore open a few sugar packets and poured them into his coffee as he stirred it. He added one creamer before taking a sip. Nothing woke him up quite like the burning liquid of coffee running down his throat. While he waited for his food he pulled out a textbook he checked out yesterday from the library on medicines.
