Akashic Arcana Night to Remember

JessieJames

Dream as if you were dying.
Steady thumping bass vibrated through his chest as he lounged like a large feline in the VIP area of the fine establishment owned by none other than himself. It wasn't a well known fact that Grimm Black owned many small buildings through out Karakura district. Mostly due to the simple fact they were under his real name. Such information he kept to himself and only one other knew the hidden truths of the current head of the street gang Hollows. Shirosaki Kuro had ditched his blue haired ass in their club in favor of studying for an up coming test he had back on the great island of Academia come Monday. Which now that he though about it a bit more made hims less pissed to be shoved out of the way for the better of his best friend's future.

It pleased him to know that his friend was finally healing and becoming less demonic as the days marched on. His aquamarine gaze traveled over the globs of undulating bodies that left little to the imagination as to what they would likely be doing once they got around to leaving. Men and women from all over the world congregated in the bowels of the Hollow's Den with the strict desire of finding something to entertain them. A few members of other gangs hung out for the pleasure of simply chatting it up with someone new.

There was many unspoken rules that the gangs obeyed by even his own members but he was at the same time aware that many ignored those rules. Shirosaki had created many of the rules the Hollows followed these days when he took over from the previous head. The one rule everyone was forced to obey was to never do something regrettable to a civilian. Rape wasn't acceptable. Kidnapping either and a slue of other things. It was merely a standard of morals they chose to live by or they would be handled with by the Hollows and their Chained King.

Grimm sipped his drink when something caught his attention. She was a breathtaking beauty he was sure wasn't a native of Japan that moved with the balanced grace of a queen. Her long white hair caught the lights that flashed and danced this way and that. Her mere appearance made him purr softly as he took her in from head to toe... or at least as far down as he could see through the dancing crowds.

Her gaze seemed to be on something. Desiring to understand what held her attention he followed it and frowned at what greeted him. A young girl --clearly too young to be in the bar-- was being harped and harassed by a pair of men. She would try to move away from them only to have one place their hands on her in some way to keep her from leaving. After a moment she was finally loose from them and headed to the door. He wouldn't have moved had the men hadn't grinned to each other in a way that made his skin crawl. Setting his glass down he stood and followed after them in a near lazy manner clearly not wanting his prey to know he was onto them. He reminded himself to find that white haired beauty at some point after taking out the trash.

Rosa was out of her element, she had never set foot in a club let alone out of the academy. However she had lots of time to fill in her evenings, she wasn't part of any clubs, and so far her concentration was on entering the Disciniplary division, she also had no friends to socialise with, sure she had acquaintances, a few people to speak to in passing, but no one she could truly call friend. So tired of sitting in her dorm not really doing anything productive, Rosa had decided to set foot out of academy grounds to take part in regular social activities. Although now that she was stood in the club she wasn't quite sure what to do with herself, it almost felt like a stupid idea.

The female had decided her plan was a clear failure and took a step to leave, her gaze, however, was caught by a young girl, clearly too young to be in such a place. Rosa could never understand why young women were so desperate to be older than they were, to make such mistakes as these, although Rosa had lived in a very strict setting whilst growing up. Although she had never felt any desire to go against her father's rules whether he was strict or otherwise.
Rosa took a step towards the woman, mingling with the crowd so it wasn't obvious to the girl's admirers that she was watching with a suspicious expression.

Watching them made Rosa's skin crawl, she felt the urge to physically shiver at their behaviour, normally she wouldn't intervene in these situations but the girl's clear age had her concerned. The girl managed to get free and made her exit, Rosa quickly made her way after the girl, there was no way that she was leaving this girl to walk home alone after those men had pawed after her. Once outside Rosa was greeted by the cool night air, it wasn't exactly crowded on the street so the young girl was easy enough to spot. Rosa jogged to catch up with the girl, gently tapping her shoulder "Hey, you okay? I saw you and those guys back there want me to walk you home?" she offered in a polite tone, her gaze went back to the club and she spotted the two men from earlier exiting the door, Rosa took the girls hand in her own protectively.

A step and a half behind the pair of men Grimm loomed over then with a look in his blue eyes that spelled the utter end of them as he was now close enough to see their tattoos on the back of their necks. These were from a gang that had been over stepping their bounds the last month or so, "Couldn't help but notice the scent of a sewer rat and felt the need to make sure it didn't craw back up the storm drain after thrown out," The blue haired male was taller than these two fools by a good six inches or so. His gaze danced out towards the two females. So his lovely lily haired prey had managed to slip past his attention to catch up to the female.

Her possessive hold on the younger girl's hand told him she had a lion's pride in her. Grimm smirked before turning his attention to the two men who were now gawking up at him. He knew the sort of sight he made. His blue hair was a mess from running his hand through it and his gaze while lazy was cold lined in those teal colored marks that made his eyes seem always open. He was built lean and muscled which his cloths did little to hide. His jeans clung to his hips lovingly as did his short sleeved shirt. His jacket was slung across his shoulders like a cape. The crown encircled in chain visible with the blue stitching that read king just below it, "I hope you realize I don't care if you come over here to have a good time but you will obey the rules or your forfeit your existence," He grinned at them like a large cat that had it's prey by the tail, "I know you haven't been doing so and will deal with it in just a moment. So don't you two go any where, ya hear?"

Grimm turned his attention then to the two females, "You have booze on your breath, kid," He noted as he got closer to them, "Go up that side fire escape," He tossed a set of keys to them, "Lock the door behind you and don't open to anyone but me."

He would make sure they got to the fire escape and had started up before turning his attention back to the foolish bastards before him. He would truly have some fun with them tonight. Before they could even begin to get ready for his attack he had flash-stepped over to them and slammed them both into the realm of sleep. Calling a few of his men he informed them to take the rats to the police and leave them there outside before following where he had sent to the two females, "You can open the door now."

Rosa watched the confrontation between the group of men, she hadn't noticed the blue haired male until now, her attention focused on the girl. She sensed a level of authority from him, despite his slightly unkempt look, she knew from the way he faced these men that he meant business. It was an unusual feeling for Rosa to be the defended rather than doing the defending. She was more than capable of taking care of herself, but Rosa took the keys regardless, she would rather the younger girl not witness a fight between the group.

Although she had a feeling it wouldn't be long before the male would be at the door to greet them. They got the fire escape and waited, the girl didn't say a word but looked at the door, her eyes glazed over hinting she was slightly drunk, her expression, however, was one of fear. Rosa listened, waiting for any sound or signal that would indicate that she should be prepared for a fight. There was only silence and then sirens, she could only assume that it was either police or an ambulance. Rosa sighed gently with a shake of her head, her first night out in the town and there was drama, she hadn't expected her night to go like this at all.

The younger girl jumped at the sound of a male voice, however, Rosa quickly picked up that it was the blue haired male from earlier, she unlocked the door, she still wasn't quite sure of who this man was, for all she knew he could just be some other guy wanting to take advantage and perhaps played hero to lure them in, she placed the keys in his hand but kept her grip on the girls hand "Thank-you for your assistance".

The man accepted his keys as he stared down at the small white haired woman before him. She didn't feel weak to him not like the drunk teen who's hand she still held. It was protective. It made him smirk as he realized she was at least smart enough not to simply trust him because he chose to help her and the girl get the hell out of dodge. A purr came from him for a moment before her turned his gaze to the clearly drunk teenager, "Alright. Business time. I.D. Short stack and who brought you into the club and gave you booze under my nose," His voice was soft due to the simple fact he didn't want to scare the daylights out of the kid, but it still held that roughness that told that he wasn't going to be easily brushed off, "I have to keep my place clean or I'll catch hell from Midori and Shiro. That means no under aged brats."

His blue gaze shifted to the white haired woman while the other shuffled to get the fake I.D. she had used to get in saying someone named Sota had helped her get in and bought her drinks. None in his crew were named Sota so he would have to do some digging on that. He kept her I.D. after glancing at it, "And I should thank you for helping some stranger that was clearly looking for trouble by not playing it safe," He said to Rosa.

She was prettier up close and personal. Exotic like Shirosaki but beautiful in that natural way that left him breathless and unsure where to look first on her person. He settled on her eyes. Last thing he needed was to piss someone off and get slapped sideways for it.

Rosa watched the exchange between the two, she called the girl a cab, it would at least give her some peace of mind that the girl would get home safely. She had to wonder how many girls ended up in this kind of circumstance. Once the girl had made her departure she shifted her gaze to the male, he had thanked her but not stated who he was or why he intervened, however, he had made no attempt to harm her or the girl, that however did not give Rosa any reassurance that this guy wasn't bad business.

She folded her arms, her gaze on the club before looking at the male, up close she could see his details more clearly, he was certainly more interesting close-up, his eyes and hair were the most defining aspects of his face. Rosa had to admit to herself that he was definitely eye candy, not that she would ever say so out loud. Taking interest in people that way was just something Rosa rarely took interest in, a conflict of interest was the way her father had described it, despite being married to her mother. Rosa had always felt a little sorry for her mother in that regard, having a husband that saw you as a conflict couldn't have made a happy marriage.

"Who are you? I appreciate your help but I'd at least like to know the name of the man who helped that girl?" she enquired, her tone was fairly polite but held a wary tone that she was not to be messed with under any circumstances, and certainly wasn't going to trust a handsome stranger.

He tilted his as he watched the girl climb into a cab. The cabby smirked at him and waved in a clearly familiar manner. It wasn't uncommon due to the fact that Grimm was the current head of the Hollows he was also their public face. Nearly all the locals knew him on sight and while cordial he didn't try to get chummy with any of them. That didn't mean a few would drop by with a box of food for the gang to show their appreciation for one thing or another.

Grimm smirked as he glanced at her, "It's rude to ask for someone else's name without offering your own first in these parts. None the less, I'm called Grimm Black," He held his hand out, "And you would be?"

He had helped the girl to keep on good grounds with the community he worked within as well as to keep it off his mind. The blue haired man also knew all too well the emotional scars that were left on the soul of those that were put through something without their permission. Yuuki, his dear adopted little sister had suffered that trauma when she was much younger that the girl from tonight had been. It still weighed heavily on his heart that he hadn't been able to keep her safe from that pain. It had nearly destroyed Shirosaki though. He glanced at the front of his bar. It had been just a shabby warehouse at some point in their shared past but he decided it was better off being this.

Rosa glanced at his extended hand, considering on whether to shake it. Rosa considered herself a polite and cordial woman as her father had raised her to be. But given what she had just witnessed she wasn't sure on whether this man was still friend or foe. Although now she did have a bit of new information, he was a club owner, given from what he was saying earlier. His actions in helping the girl made more sense, although she had presumed that it was the action of club bodyguards to do the job of helping the people within the club or at least solve any trouble they had just outside their door.

Once Rosa had a name to a face she gripped his hand within her own "Rosa Romano" she stated before releasing his hand. Her gaze followed him to the club, she wondered what he was thinking, hopefully about taking some disciplinary action against the idiots that sold alcohol to a young girl as well as the people that let her into the place with a fake I.D.

"I'm not from these parts, your mannerisms don't apply to me" she stated in an offhanded tone.

His gaze shifted towards her for a moment. It held a hint of annoyance that showed his had a something to disagree to her thoughts. Manners were something the rest of the world liked to put in a box and only take down when it suited them. Not that he could say too much he did the same thing most days. He stretched, "A lot of people who aren't from these parts linger here for the pleasure of finding something to hold their interest. What brings you besides helping those who need nannies?"

Grimm was being playful with his words as he stared at the place he called his home. He would find out who had let the kid in and who gave her booze it was merely a matter of time. Speaking of time... His phone buzzed in his pocket causing him to fish for it and stare down at the screen. The words 'thr's a gift 4 u in ur office' glared back at him causing him to smirk, "Call it a bit forward but you seem like the type to enjoy seeing the face of the wicked get what it deserves... Care to accompany me upstairs to handle some business then perhaps a dinner?"

Dinner? Had he really...? He would have shook his head at the words if it weren't for the fact he actually desired to know her answer. What sort of soul was she?

Rosa watched the male, he seemed so laid back for a man that had just been in a fight. He was definitely a confident man, a attractive trait but one that usually led to arrogance. She said nothing for the moment, ignoring his first question as he was too busy being preoccupied with his phone, whatever the message had said, it clearly made Grimm happy.

He mentioned dinner, and for a second she was taken a back, for a moment Rosa considered whether he was joking, some boyish joke that she wouldn't understand. But her gaze raised to his eyes and she could see that he was more than serious. Her curiosity got the better of her, wondering what business he had that he wanted her of all people to get involved in, and why he wanted to take her to dinner.

Rosa shrugged and gave a nod of her head "I have nothing better to do, I'll be repaying the favor by going to dinner with you" she stated in a decisive tone.

Grimm smirked at her reasoning. It was cute to say the least considering he dealt with men who took any meal way too seriously. He lead her back up the fire escape and through the make shift living room towards a long hallway with several doors leading off to who knew where. Reaching the one at the end he twisted the handle to open it and was greet by two very skittish looking men and his current second in command. Hibiki Naru was a strange man like many men that belonged to the Hollows. His sharp black eyes took in the world from behind large round framed glasses that made him look young and nerdy. His long black hair was braided so it fell down his back. A royal purple iris was tucked into the lapel of his suit dark grey suit jacket. His button down was a rich lilac color which was unbuttoned at the throat to show off a hint of pale throat. A bone like masks of a fox sat on the side of his head as he leaned against the front of Grimm's desk.

Grimm's office was simple enough and surprisingly relaxing to be in. Tasteful decorations hung from the three walls that weren't made from glass. Two bone masks hung from the wall behind the desk. One looked human in shape but with large horns erupting from its temples. The other reminded one of a large cat baring its fangs as it growled its displeasure.

Moving to stand lazily before the two men who stared at him with a mix of awe and fear Grimm kept his hands tucked in his pockets, "Hibi, who are these cubs?" He asked with a tilt of his head, "They aren't members or they wouldn't be quaking in their boots."

"Grimmy, love you know they quake for they know you are displeased with them. The one on the left is Ginro Sabaku. He was hired about two weeks ago to work the door as Miro asked for some extra help keeping the line in order," Hibiki answered, "The other one is Eric Tompson he was hired around the same time to barkeep. You didn't get to interview either of them as you were handling a matter for Midori at the time."

Grimm sighed, "Alright then, Miss. Romano, you can have a set in the chair behind the desk if you like," He turned his attention back to the two before him as he fished out the ID card from the teen from earlier, "I need you two to look at this ID card closely. This is a fake ID that you two have let into my club. Into my home in the hands of a child who had no business being here. Perhaps someone didn't inform you before, perhaps they did and you just figured why should I care?"

He tilted his head, "Let me inform you personally then. This child nearly ended up being a statistic tonight because you failed to do your fucking job," He pointed to the bouncer, "Your job is to make sure these don't make it through the door," In a flash of movement he kicked the chair out from under the man so he landed on his side on the ground, "You then weren't where you were supposed to be when she went to leave and was followed by two men who aimed to do harm to her. I had to do it myself."

His gaze shifted to the bartender then, "And your job is to make sure he is doing his fucking job," He hissed, "Every one gets carded twice in this place. Once at the door and once more when they buy a drink containing alcohol. You either sold it to her or you turned the other way when she was given the drinks. Do you get off on knowing you are letting children become victims?"

Both men were trying to explain they would never do it again but Grimm didn't give an inch, "Get out of my bar and don't come back. I'll mail you your pay checks owed to you for the time you have worked."

Rosa followed her new acquaintance, passing through several doors along the way until she had no idea of exactly where she was. The interior of the club had been a lot bigger than she had originally assumed as she made her way to an office. Rosa's gaze was immediately captured by the two very fearful looking men. She had to wonder what type of man inspired this type of fear in people, sure he had helped that girl, but it was probably more for his own gain, to cover his own back more than being a hero.

Rosa remained silent and took a seat, her attention was temporarily taken by the decorative structure of the room, an unique looking man had a unique style evidently. She watched the confrontation go down. Whilst this was none of her business, and Grimm's right as their employer, the act of violence and intimidation made her uneasy. Although she had a good understanding of who she was dealing with, and understood that no one would mess with this guy so easily.

Rosa wasn't exactly pleased by his behavior, and she could understand how these men were at fault for the incident, but she simply gritted her teeth and waited for the men to make their exit.

"Tsk, tsk," the dark haired man sighed as he watched the two make their exit, "I would say you made yourself look like heathen yet again oh great kingling. Shiro would be proud... or wondering why you are taking a page from his book."

Grimm narrowed his gaze at Hibiki, "I will have you know that man stank of sex and something else I have no desire to examine too closely," He scoffed before turning his attention to Rosa, "Sorry I have to make sure to keep most people in line in a rougher way than I would like to do. I keep trying to talk Shiro to throw his schooling out and returned to what he does best but he refuses. Not that I blame him. You've met Yuuki. She's terrifying when she acts like her brother."

The large man shivered at the thought as he moved towards the desk, "You're in charge till I decide to come back home, Hibi, don't go making a damn calendar again. I'll have Shiro burn it."

The dark haired bastard grinned widely, "Oh, so your leaving and expecting me to not turn some of these rough and ready mutts into the next good year calendar. You know Shiro would likely approve of it. After all we make one every year. Mr. January," A growl was directed at the other male who simply shrugged and waved bye to the pair, "Keep our fearless leader out of trouble."

Grimm glared at him as he left then sighed, "One of these days I will tie that bastard up and leave him with the trash. The only bad thing is he would like it too much," He turned his attention once more to Rosa, "What are you hungry for?"

Rosa watched the pair exchange insults, although she wasn't sure they were even insulting each other. They seemed to be on friendly terms and definitely appeared to have a healthy level of respect for each other. Rosa stood up and made her way towards the door, at first she wondered what on earth they were discussing calender's for, until she heard Grimm labelled as Mr.January.

The thought of these rough men posing for something as cliche as a men calendar made her smirk. It wasn't something she could see Grimm being willing to do. Rosa was greeted by the cold night air, her white hair moving lightly against the breeze. Her gaze went to Grimm when he asked her about food, she took a moment to consider, whilst she wasn't against the local food she missed the home food that her mother used to serve up.

And whilst she couldn't get mothers home made food here, she could at least get second best "Italian would be lovely" she suggested, with a kind smile.

The blue haired man smirked slightly as he followed the woman from his office. Italian would be nice thankfully he knew a local shop that might still be open, "We better hurry then," he pulled out his phone and sent a message to someone named Gigi as he moved towards a large black motorcycle that sat along side the club. Pulling a small key from his pocket he picks up the lonely helmet that dangled from the handle bars and held it out to her, "I only got one as a brat forgot to give my other one back to me."

Yuuki had a habit of keeping odd items that she was lent. It always baffled him. Throwing his leg over the saddle of the bike he sat down before starting it and holding it steady for her to climb on behind him, "Hold on to the saddle strap," He pointed to the band that ran across the seat for the passenger. The bike rumbled and purred as he toed it away from the building after lifting the kick stand. Once clear he twisted the throttle and they quickly shot down the short driveway to the street where he took a left heading deeper into the dock district.

Gigi's was a tiny mom and pop restaurant that was owned by an Italian woman and a Japanese man who bickered while they cooked the most delicious food he had ever had. Gigi --the woman-- had been married to Tosumaru --the man-- for around twenty years now. They had five children that were all grown up now. The little shop was barely noticeable from the street due to all the umbrellas that crowded the sidewalk where outdoor seating had been set up so people might watch the ships come and got from port. Strings of lights lit the undersides of the make shift canopy. Gigi stood at the door as Grimm pulled up and shut the bike down, "Buona sera, ragazzo mio!" she chimed as she moved closer to the pair. Her large green eyes were full of warmth as she glanced at Rosa, "I had to send Tosu home he wasn't feeling too well. I will make food for you two. Sit where you like!"

The grey haired woman didn't even wait for a response as she bustled inside the small shop to get some tea and wine ready, "That's Gigi," Grimm stated, "She and Tosumaru have been in this little shop for ten years now. They make some of the best Italian food you will taste from these parts. Gigi is from Italy. I think she said she was from Tuscany."

He led her to a outdoor table where he could watch the boats on the water, "I hope you enjoy it."

Rosa looked at the large motorcycle with fear in her eyes, she had never been on one herself but she knew how often people ended up in those type of accidents. It was safer to drive a car rather than a motorcycle but by the looks of things there was no other way that she was getting to the restaurant. So she hesitantly climbed onto the bike and gripped the saddle strap as if her life depended on it, and in some regard it did.

The flew down the street, causing Rosa's hair to dance behind her like white fire. Fortunately it didn't take long for them to reach the restaurant. Like most family run restaurants, it wasn't very noticeable, inside however was pretty much how she expected an Italian restaurant to be. Even the friendly Italian woman was expected, Rosa knew in every Italian home a woman would definitely be running the show when it came to food.

She followed Grimm to their seats, it was a very different view compared to the club, almost picturesque. She turned her gaze to Grimm "I noticed, I'm from Italy also, from Venice but we traveled around a lot" she spoke as she examined the menu, her curiosity finally getting the better of her "So why did you invite me to dinner?" she questioned.

Grimm tilted his head as he stared out at the water. The scent of the salt air was peaceful and caused him to relax more. He was sure it was his mother's blood that gave him a love to the sea. His glanced out of the corner of his eye at the woman, "I asked you out for a few reasons. Most I will admit are selfish and hold little value to you. After that it's the simple desire to make up for a ruined night. You came to my club to enjoy yourself only to have it ruined by the lack of competence from my workers. Keeping it simple has always been my way of life. I can think complicated thoughts but my actions should always be simple and explainable."

As Gigi came back she set down a bottle of wine and a pot of hot tea along with a pair of tea cups and two wine glasses. She smirked at the pair, "Any thought of what you want?"

"Penni and sauce for me," He stated as he poured a cup of tea. It was a light Camellia tea that caused him to out right purr at the warmth and taste.

"Si," the older woman nodded before she glanced to Rosa, "And you, miss?"

Rosa watched the male with curious interest, she rarely took interest in people. Often preferring to be the loner and keep her attention focused on what she was doing. But this guy was different from her usual company of students, there was a certain relaxed confidence that most people she knew just didn't have. Rosa glanced up as the older woman approached, it didn't take long for Rosa to decide on what she wanted.

"Just a carbonara for me please" Rosa asked with a polite smile, waiting until the woman had left before turning her attention back to Grimm, "Well, thank-you it's very nice of you to do this" she spoke before pouring herself a cup of camellia tea.

A sharp cackle of a laugh erupted from him at her calling him nice, "Oh don't let that get around people who think I'm nice tend to find out quickly I'm anything but nice," His sapphire eyes danced with inner merriment. It was rare for him to be called nice and it made him feel human in a way he had been missing since he had become the head of the Hollows. He rubbed the back of his head lightly, "Sorry it's just I'm used to people taking one look at me and trying to get away. It's rare to have someone willingly keep me company unless it's Shiro, Yuu, or one of the other members..."

His gaze lingered on the dark waters of the bay as he let himself drift into deep thought. Yuuki and Shiro were the closest things he had to siblings. His parents had even gone as far as to adopt the two officially even if Yuu still lived with her biological parents as to Shiro's wishes. Shiro wanted his parents to see what he saw in his little sister but sadly it was getting to the point where it was useless.

He closed his eyes and leaned his head back. The tea warmed him and relaxed him as well. Here in the docks he didn't have to worry so much about people attacking him due to the fact that he had a treaty with Midori who ran the docks these days. Also she adored Shiro and Yuu. The pair were undeniable when they got together.

Rosa was slightly surprised by his sudden cackle but his explanation helped her to understand. She sipped at her tea as he watched the bay, she recognized the name Shiro, a fellow student at the academy, she hadn't ever really interacted with him, she had only heard of him through her friend Iris, they both attended the gymnastics club and Iris
was all to eager to share the details of gaining a new possible friend.

"Shiro as in Shiro from the academy? I don't know him personally but that's the only person that comes to mind with that name" she asked, placing her cup back onto the table, the familiar smells of italian food reminded her of home, it was a nice feeling, whilst she enjoyed being at the academy, she missed her home.
