A bustling, busy city even in the quietest of times, the port city of Orion has become an absolute hive of frenzied activity in the past several days. The docks are absolutely packed with ships bearing refugees from the Lanwitt Empire, desperate to escape the horrors that have arisen from the Book of Night's release. Most are disappointed to find that Evenfall is far from the safe haven that they'd imagined. The cursed pages have reached far beyond the Lanwitt Empire's borders, making their way to the shores of Evenfall and corrupting all that they touch. A single page landed at the outskirts of Orion itself several days ago, leading to an entire section of the city being filled with horrifying monsters and bloodthirsty madmen. After a hasty mission to retrieve it led to the demise of an entire legion of guards, the city's duke ordered the entire section of the city barricaded off and guarded to prevent the escape of any abominations into the rest of the city. Despite these precautions, creatures still occasionally manage to slip through the perimeter, forcing the city's residents to sleep with one eye open and their doors tightly locked.
