Someone else would make their way towards the church's entrance amongst the chaos. Originally headed there due to having no current task, and being one who hadn't been to a church since a brief mission in her own world some time ago, a woman clad in armor and a white outfit would make her way to the entrance. She simply wanted to see whether the church had been empty originally, not having paid any mind to it, but with whatever commotion was going on she would force her way in and deal with any who stood in her way with mere strength. It wasn't empty, if the crowd outside was any indication, which meant that whoever was inside could be hurt.

It was a Claymore's job to protect humans, and it also gave her something to do in the long run.

The mob was mostly made up of ragtag locals. Humanoid and more exotic races, all united in mutual hatred. In their hands, Clare would see pickaxes, chains, bricks and knives as well as the occasional gun as might be salvaged. Young, old- She would see children among them, gaunt and twisted as they moved with eerie hatred among the masses. Foam flecked from cracked lips, a miasma of madness seemed to pervade everyone. They didn't seem to care about Clare for now.

Their eyes were strictly for the show before them.

The stairs before the church doors shattered beneath the blow, a massive humanoid seven feet in height smashing a nun again and again . The nun looked calm, despite herself. Black ooze bled from the wounds on her pale face, a mocking smile playing about her features. She made no move to defend herself nor did she have a weapon.

She just let the ringleader hit her, calm and collected as the ringleader roared.

"MALEVOLENCE! SEE THE WITCH BLEED BLACK! FOR TOO LONG HAS SHE BEEN LYING IN WAIT, HER AND HER MONSTERS! TAKE BACK YOUR STREETS! CLEANSE! PURGE! KILL!"

From the crowd, a woman cried out in absolute bloodlust, followed by echoing cries of agreement.

"BURN HER!"

And then, gunfire echoed as the crowd gasped.

"Yeah, don't mention it." Eda said as she continued dragging Peter through the back of the church. In all honesty, she wanted nothing more than to go back downstairs, grab a nice bottle of rum, and---

Of course this would happen. Things were never this easy. They weren't back in Roanapur, and they certainly weren't here on Ash.

"Get behind me." Eda commanded Peter sternly as she drew her pistol.

v7BWV.jpg

"We're closed today, assholes." Eda said bluntly before shooting all three men point blank, hoping to kill all three instantly. Normally, she wouldn't have cared about Peter's life in the slightest, but... well, Sister Saber told her to look after him, and like it or not, Eda had to oblige.

@Blacksmith @Lucky @Takumi

Peter caught a glimpse of her calm exterior and wondered how she was managing to keep it.

Peter noticed quickly that there was a mob at the front entrance and it felt weird that he hadn't noticed it earlier. Was this mob cheering for or against them? He wasn't quite certain.

He groaned when some crazed looking humanoids armed with primitive weapons went to go and attack them. Today was truly not his day and he was really starting to hate it too.

Couldn't for once in his life things go his way without something blowing up in his face? He was starting to think the answer was honestly no.

" I can fight for myself, but I will," he replied, moving behind the nun as she drew her pistol.

Peter raised an eyebrow as she shoot them, wondering if she had killed them. If not, he might have to fight. What exactly did he have as weapons on him anyways? He remembered quickly that he had something if he needed too and looked at his squirrel who handed him some nuts first.

@Raptor Jesus @Takumi @Blacksmith

The mob members fell back, bleeding out from the unexpected attack. This drew more attention as well, as the fringes drifted to look down, gasping as they saw the bodies.

"They killed them!"

"GET THEM!"

Blood had been spilled and they rushed out in rage, as the mob at the front reacted in fear and anger.

Clare's brow furrowed at the sight of children among the masses. She didn't linger on the sight long when she caught sight of a behemoth harming a nun, and the death of two from the crowd. A grunt of frustration escaped from her chest, but her expression didn't change other than a set jaw and narrow eyes. She moved briskly towards the front, not even bothering to draw her sword yet. Instead, she head to the behemoth first, intending to grab him by the arm and lift him over her shoulder and throw him into a group of his comrades.

Her hand moved to the hilt of her blade as she stood between those who had been residing in the church, and the twisted mass of the angry mob that had barged in.

Clare would use her speed and strength to her advantage, silver eyes becoming golden and cat like as she aimed to disarm any and all that got too close with her blade, and cut deep, but not kill. Not yet, anyway.

Peter doubted that this was going to be easy and he knew that things were about to become worse. He focused, using something he rarely used. The power he was born with.

He looked at the strings of Fate to see how he could change them.

He knew that he had to be careful though. If he was wrong, he would make another Tommy, someone who he only delayed the inevitable on. His second chance had been done wrong.

As he did this, he started to form his sword to either cut them. Hopefully Edna could provide him with cover.

"Tch. Fuck off, God ain't in today, cocksuckers!" Eda shouted as she continued shooting the mob members, each bullet connecting in rapid succession.

The Threads of Fate weren't tangled so much as twisted. The number of folks, the various deaths from Eda and the world-wide presence of so many meddlesome heroes and villains made scrying a difficult chore. Finding the right threads to help even more so. But the single minded, shared collective of fear and loathing was easy enough to gauge the mobs destiny.

If they continued on this track, they'd grow and grow until they smashed like a tidal wave against the military checkpoints.

A fatal problem where the foe struck me mercilessly against any weakness.

Eda's gunfire kept the alleyway clear as those closer opted for the better part of valor. Hiding out of sight the mob howled, till one of them threw what looked like a brandy bottle with a flaming rag their direction.

The man was thrown and the nun sighed out, as she looked at her new defender.

That sword... Those eyes.

Saber froze, shock filling her body. She knew this woman. Cautiously she rose to her feet and wiped her forehead wound with her sleeve.

Before Clare, the crowd froze...Unwilling to fight, due to her status and the fact she hadn't actually hurt any of them.

The ringleader snarled as he pointed, gesturing others to storm the alley while he attempted to whip the crowd to a frenzy.

"WHY DO YOU PROTECT THIS WITCH?! ARE YOU TOO, IN LEAGUE WITH THEM?!"

The ringleader would receive a cold, calm look from the Claymore, before she would make her way forward towards him and grab him by his front and lift him to her eye level.

"My job is to protect, humans, witch, whatever they may be. Nothing more, nothing less. If you wish to continue living, I suggest you and your group leave while you can still lick your wounds, because I'll kill if I have to." with that she would drop him, sword still in hand.

"And leave children out of it." she added, tone growing gruff then. Turning her head, she would glance to Saber.

"You'll be alright, yes?" she asked, despite not keeping the group in her line of sight at the moment, her body was still tense and ready to attack again in a heartbeat.

Though, she came to a dilemma, and that was going to help those in the back, or to remain where she was to protect the nun from further harm.

Peter saw the Threads of Fate and he saw what he feared most. The threads weren't intertwined in a way that was easy to unwind. He had seen twisted threads before and he knew that he had to focus on what was in common between all of them. He knew that it wouldn't be easy, but he saw the thread of fear and loathing showed what would happened if the mob continued on their path.

They were going to destroy the checkpoints and put a ton of strife in their path. It wouldn't be easy for them to recover at all.

A fatal problem where the foe struck me mercilessly against any weakness.

He had to be careful on what to do next. He tried to manipulate and quell the thread of fear and loathing and tried to untangle it away from the rest of them. If he could isolate, he could destroy it.

While Peter was lost trying to fix the thread of fate, his animals were watching out for him. The squirrel had crawled down towards his pocket and woken up the water dragon and as it was awoken, it shot the brandy bottle with its water attack.

Eda only sighed and continued firing into the mob, hoping she could kill enough to disperse it. She also made sure to shoot the molotov mid air before it came close to her or Peter, hoping the resulting fire would take out some of their attackers as well.

And so events transpired as follows.

Thanks to the threads of fate woven in such a way, the moltov was put out and then shattered by Eda's bullets.

Her bullets and the words and threat outright stated by Claire held the crowd, preventing more from being hit and thus reason to attack.

The crowd dispersed, grumbling and angry but no longer violent. Many of them seemed to look as though they woke up from a deep sleep, confused as they looked around before retreating. The ringleader spat on the ground before Claire as he pointed.

"The Witch-Hunter will not stand for this."

He then turned and stormed off south. The nun wiped her brow, the black ooze of Malevolence clear for Claire to see as she chuckled throatily. Gold met gold, as a smile quirked on her mouth as she called aloud.

"Sister Eda, you can come over now. I believe its over thanks to a good Samaritan. You have our thanks, though I believe you only delayed the problem. They will return and in greater numbers. More, once they know about this."

As she spoke, she deftly bandaged her wound as she asked curiously.

"You surprise me. Is it not your role to destroy the taint of malevolence and those touched with it?"

Peter took a deep breath, thankful that he had altered the thread of fate to prevent the conflict from happening. However, as the threads were so tangled and it had taken some time and a ton of energy for him, he promptly collapsed on the ground. He was fine for now, unconscious but fine. The physical drain had taken him for now and thankfully since the animals were still near him, they were alive. It would be a few hours before he could fully heal now and be on his way.

"Yes, and although that is my role, as a Claymore my role to protect comes first. Not only that...but I don't harm children." Clare responded, before adding, "unless they become like the beast of my world posing as children." noticing Peter passed out, she would pick him up.

"It seems some of them may be controlled, if their dazed gazes were anything to go by." she spoke, golden eyes returning to their calm silver color as she did so.

Tying her hair into a neat bun braid, she smirked.

"Indeed. It makes you wonder why they bothered to stop here, when they simply could have blown the whistle on me. Another purpose perhaps?"

She considered before speaking.

"Much of that mob were locals of the Hive district. Underground catacombs Habs and housing. It's a start if we are to investigate."

The planet Ash...

An intriguing world to the two that were exploring it, a Majin Android and a soldier. The Android seemed to be... unsettled as they travelled, worried something might attack them.

"I Don't like this... it seems too quiet." The Android said.

"Don't be so scared, 21." The soldier said to his companion. "We can take anything that gets thrown at us."

"If you say so Siege..." Android 21 stated as they continued their exploration.

Nathan Drake still didn't quite feel like he belonged on this strange planet. Yeah, he had encountered a strange race of beings and had nearly died, but that felt common for him.

Though, he couldn't fully remember his past, he did remember he was a treasure hunter.

There was other things he got in some douses. Blonde hair and some sort of guardian. He was fuzzy on the details.

He looked over and noticed the others. " Are you out exploring this area too?" Nathan asked the duo.

Nathan hadn't expected both of them to turn and raised an eyebrow.

He wasn't sure if they had come here willingly or if it was like him.

Theo offered a grin back a smile. " I know just the place, follow me. Also, I'm good, but if you need a lift, I can oblige," he replied back.
