Introduction
Hello! Welcome to Rot and Rule, a Multifandom crossover roleplay set within The Convergence Series. For those who don't know, Convergence is a multifandom roleplay series that's been going on since 2014, but don't let that scare you away! We are always looking for newcomers, and this roleplay requires no knowledge of our established lore to join in! But even so, we're more than happy to answer any questions that you may have about our group!
Rules
1. All STC rules apply.
2. Please be respectful of other players both IC and OOC, and keep OOC talk out of the IC itself. We're all here to have fun and I am not afraid to remove people from the roleplay if they continuously cause problems for others.
3. Please also be respectful of me, your GM. I want to make this a fun experience for everyone involved and would like your cooperation in doing so.
4. Please refrain from god-modding or other power plays. As it is there will be restrictions as to how powerful your characters can be and I ask that you respect that,
5. Please be sure to be active! Convergence roleplays have a tendency to move rather quickly, especially in the beginning. All I ask is that you post once a chapter, or at the very least communicate with me when you are unable to do so. Feel free to find posting partners to help stay connected with, or I will have a decent amount of NPCs that you can interact with, as well.
6. All levels of experience and all posting styles are welcome, though I ask that you please aim for something substantial in a post, and don't just post images. Also, with regards to images, no more than three gifs/pictures per post, please, in order to keep things streamlined. I may use more than that in GM posts for narrative purposes.
Mechanics
At the beginning of the game, there will be a talent show where players will vote on a winner. Details of said talent show will be elaborated on in IC, but whoever wins will receive both a special item and a unique role in the story. I ask that those interested in the role be active more than once a chapter, as this role is very plot relevant and will require some degree of private communication between the two of us. You can opt out of the running for the role and still participate in the talent show, but again this will be elaborated on ICly.
Character Requirements:
All characters will have weapons taken away and ablities/powers neutralized at the start of the event. All characters must also relate to music in some fashion due to the nature of this roleplay. This means any of the following:
1. Your character is a musician in-universe (i.e. Vocaloids, idols, singers, musicians, etc.), or is known to play an instrument or sing.
2. Your character is not necessarily a musician, but is associated with music in some way (i.e. Big Band from Skullgirls who has a musical motif)
3. Your character is from a musical or otherwise musical property (this means either a Broadway show or media where characters sing as an integral part of the series, such as Crazy Ex-Girlfriend). Please note that you can play characters who sing in one setting but not in another as long as you play the incarnation that is from the musical adaptation. You can play a character from Heathers, but it must be from the musical, not the movie or television show.
Please ask about the requirements if you have any questions or concerns, and I will be more than happy to assist you. I am trying to be a bit more on the lax side so that everyone can join in with who they want to play, with one exception: as this is a talent show hosted by The Gorillaz, please do not play characters from that series. Also you may play up to two characters, but only one will be allowed to participate in the talent show. And though this roleplay will include combat, please know that there will be opportunities to arm characters who are otherwise weaponless.
