Rules
- Real life before RP! If someone can’t post for a while because they’ve been busy, or if their muse has left them, try to be gracious and give them time to reply. That said…
- Try your best not to keep people waiting too long for you to reply. We all understand that there are some days when you just can’t write, and that’s fine. However, try to be considerate toward your fellow RPers. If you know you won’t be able to post, let them know in advance.
- Keep it clean. This RP is rated PG-13, which means all content should stay in that category. If you’re not sure if it’s okay, it’s probably better to air on the side of caution and not post it.
- Stay drama free. Of course you’ll have drama in-character, but when you’re out-of-character, be civil. Let’s try to keep conflict to a minimum. If you do happen to have a problem with another player, you should first try to work it out with them. If that doesn’t work, address the GM’s privately and we’ll try to help.
- Respect the GMs. There’s a reason they were put in charge. If they tell you something’s not okay, please listen.
- All OOC chat should take place in Discord, not the forums. This helps keep the RP cleaner over all, not to mention that chatting is generally easier over Discord anyway. That said:
- You must have a Discord account. It’s recommended that you get to know your fellow RPers, as this tends to make the experience better over all. That said, you are not required to chat, but if you want to be in this RP, make sure you at least check in every once in a while, as most OOC announcements will be posted there. You’ll also have to check with the GMs in Discord while creating a character to make sure everything will work out.
- When posting, use proper spelling and grammar. Please. For all our sakes.
- No god-modding or meta-gaming. This really goes without saying. This includes killing off another player’s character without permission. You must have permission to kill, cripple, or maim a playable character.
- Be realistic when it comes to fights. If your character finds themselves in a situation where there’s no possible way they could get out alive, you should be willing to let your character go. If you don’t want your character to die, don’t let them get into inescapable situations in the first place.
- Remember to stay within the time period. This is steampunk. In order to keep it that way, we have to maintain some fairly strict rules on technology, and everyone is expected to follow those rules.
- Have fun! I know this will be a darker RP, but don’t take this game too seriously. It’s just fiction, after all.
