Character Sheet Template
(May be subject to change)

Name: (Including nicknames/titles)

Age: (Preferable age range is 18 through to 22, though exceptions will be allowed. Keep in mind that your characters will have spent at least three years at the school at this point with a max of seven)

Gender:

Appearance:
(A written description to give us an idea of your character's looks, physique, and preferred style of clothing. You can post just a picture if you want, but it's optional. Do try to avoid pictures of really well-known actors or well-known characters if you can)

Power Grade: (As every student will be in their final year, their power grade should be at B or A. If a student is set to graduate with a grade of E through C, keep in mind they would have spent at seven years at the school already/

As training with hero groups requires a higher power grade, player characters must have a very good reason to be involved with a lower grade.)

Power Category: (Mind, Physical, Energy, Shape, Biology, Utility, Reality, Healing)

Power: (What are their powers? Generally we're looking for a single power but you can provide a set as long as they are related in theme or design, then that's all right. As long as you can provide reasoning for how the different aspects of the character's power would work together then that should be good. Two wholly unrelated powers, such as being able to jump incredibly high and the ability to eat anything, would not be as suitable. This will vary on a case-by-case basis.

The characters should progress in their powers in terms of their ability to use the powers effectively or without drawbacks but you may develop new aspects of that power as they progress. An individual's power can develop further even if they are already considered to have a power grade of A)

Disposition: (What are your characters interests and values? What are their academic strengths?)

History: (Give a basic idea of what their life was like before attending school and their life during school. Make sure to include how long they have been attending the school, with a minimum of three years and a maximum of seven)

Relationships: (As player characters will be seniors, do talk with the other players about coming up with some pre-established school relationships!)

Other Details: (Any other details you want to include that don’t fit into the categories above)

Name
John Spooner

Age
18

Gender
Male

Appearance
John has blonde hair that's scruffy, and blue eyes. He has a notable birthmark on his chin, and is rather tall and lanky. He normally dresses down, wearing long sleeve shirts and jeans. On warm days, he wears sporty shorts and tank tops, and on cold days he's seen wearing heavy winter coats.

Power
Vector manipulation. He can manipulate anything with a vector quantity, or anything that features both direction and magnitude (i.e. lift, displacement, acceleration, force, weight, velocity, etc.). He only has mastery of velocity and acceleration, and is working on mastering weight.

While the whole thing about vector manipulation is that it's super powerful, he only needed to stay at the school to gain control over his power. This is why he's at grade A despite only mastering two aspects of his abilites, he's only mastered the aspects that were considered most likely to pop out in an uncontrolled manner.

He'll graduate once he learns how to master weight.

An example of his powers applied is throwing a pen and making it curve back into his hand, and stopping an object midair.

His weight manipulation is limited at his current state, and can only be activated in extremely stressful situations. As for now, it’s limited to making an object so heavy that nobody can lift it (except people with super strength).

Disposition
Despite having formerly played soccer, John is no jock. He’s a rather internal person who doesn’t really enjoy his newfound life. He’s often quiet in class in spite of getting good grades.

He’s always seen himself as being empty due to not being able to do the one thing he loves (play soccer) and being constantly seen in the shadow of Sandra Cohen, with whom he has the same powers.

Once you break through his shell, he’s a really nice guy who cares for his friends (really more than he cares for himself). He likes vintage 20th century aesthetics and the chill music of the late 2010s.

History
The most popular boy at school, John was the star soccer player at his school. He loved this life, and never wanted to abandon it.

One day, while he was eleven, he accidentally killed a hawk that was flying at him by manipulating it's weight and sending it tumbling to the ground while camping in the woods. This was when he first manifested and learned of his powers.

Understanding that he would be shipped off to boarding school if others found out, he somehow hid his powers until he was 13 years old, where he completely stopped the acceleration of a flying plate of turkey during a chaotic thanksgiving dinner.

He was then torn away from his old life, and forced to attend Arthur Gray's.

Power
Nullification - The ability to nullify the abilities of other people, as well as their effects.

With a touch, she can instantly disable most other people's powers, be it an element, projectile, energy bursts, personal enhancement, and so on. Her ability is not automatic or passive; she must consciously activate it to make it work. When her power is in effect, her eyes glow a light shade of red (as opposed to her naturally brown eyes) to indicate its effect. She can also transfer the effect of her power across objects, similar to an electrical current. In other words, if both she and her target are in contact with the same object, her ability can still affect her target without the need for physical contact.

Disposition
Ayako doesn't smile. Her perpetual scowl is almost as piercing as her red gaze, seeming only capable of giving a neutral face at best. In fact, she always seems rather annoyed, displeased with something, and to that end, is capable of having something of a volatile personality. While she is capable of acting "friendly" enough to anyone who treats her as such, it is easy to get a rise out of her if her buttons are sufficiently pushed.

She dislikes extravagance, as well as anyone or anything she deems "showy" or otherwise overly lavish. To that end, she also dislikes personalities she considers too strong or overbearing. Though she presently has a decent amount of wealth to her name under her father, Ayako is actually rather stingy about money, having a strict daily budget that she tries her best to keep, as she also dislikes her father and relying on him. Other items at the top of her very long dislike list include insects and studying. She is overall an average B student. She could be an A student if she tried harder; even so, she's no genius prodigy but she knows her basic way around most subjects.

Despite her cold and rough exterior, Ayako has her fair share of girlish affections. She likes dolls and plushes, and cooking is one of her more notable hobbies. She doesn't like working out, but maintains a strict routine of light exercise to stay in shape for when she becomes a hero, which she aspires to be.

History
Born to an American father and a Japanese mother, and raised in the states, Ayako is an only child. Though she enjoyed a financially comfortable life in the earliest years of her childhood thanks to her father's occupation, it mattered little as her parents separated when she was at a young age due to irreconcilable difficulties. Ayako generally avoids digging deeper when asked, but has revealed that she was abused in some manner.

Following that incident, Ayako's mother retained sole custody and moved away with her. For the following several years, Ayako lived with her mother, a working-class woman, having essentially "downgraded" in class. The transition to a different way of life was a pivotal moment in Ayako's childhood that informs some of her current personality.

Some years later, Ayako's mother passed due to illness, unable to afford treatments for herself while also taking care of Ayako, and so, just like that, custody of Ayako transferred to her father, whom she'd previously had no contact with for many years.

However, the event of her mother's passing triggered something within Ayako; none other than her newly realized ability, first manifested in Ayako's eyes suddenly turning red completely, before realizing that her power was that of the ability to nullify others' abilities. Though completely ineffective and harmless against normal humans, her initial inability to control her new power naturally landed her on her way to Arthur Gray's School of Power. Ayako was more than happy to be shipped off, anything to get away from her father.

Today, Ayako is on the cusp of graduating after four years at the Academy. She is highly sought after as a recruit for the New Guard due to her power, and though she fully intends to become a member, she sure does wish they'd lay off a little...

TBA

Other Details
As mentioned above, the government has taken a particular interest in her for some time now. If you're lucky, you might have been lucky enough to see some men in black talk to her in the distance, though it always ends with her cursing them off harmlessly.

Her last name is her mother's maiden name. She has never told anyone what her birth surname -- that of her father's -- is.

Oh, and she's trans.

Power
Enhancement - The ability to boost her own physical capabilities.

The term is broad and refers to a great many implications, but the basic gist of her power is that she is able to make herself stronger or her abilities more potent in some manner in different ways, the effect being visible and demonstrated through the "enhanced" area taking on a more metallic, almost armored look.

Kylie can use Enhancement to make any part of her body stronger and / or more efficient, which can include enhancing her arms to provide her with superhuman strength, her legs to provide speed and jump at great heights, her eyes for superhuman sight, or evenly distribute her power all around her body for enhanced durability or enhancing her stats across the board. In this regard, her power manifests in the form of a sort of metallic "armor." She can also use her power on other people, though it should be noted that she is weakened for as long as the other party uses her power, as though she had loaned it and needs it to be "given back" once its use is fulfilled.

Kylie can also, if so desired, enhance more abstract parts of herself, most notably the potency of her five senses, though the "armor" does not materialize when using this. Her eyes would not suddenly turn metal looking if she decided to enhance her sight. That would just be silly. Kylie initially started out only being able to perform "concrete" enhancement, and it was only through her time at the Academy that she was able to later learn how to enhance herself on a more "abstract" level.

Depending on how much energy she outputs, she is generally able to only able to significantly enhance one area at a time. As in, she can either be strong enough to pick up a car or be fast enough to outrun a car at a given time, but she can't have both at the same time. There is a limit to how much "boost energy" she can expend. However, she can easily distribute her power in this manner if the degree of enhancement is not as intensive, essentially striking a moderate balance if needed.

If faced with enough resistance, a given reinforced part of her body may end up shattering and her powers are susceptible to being disabled for a period of time. For example, Kylie may enhance her body to the degree that she can withstand bullets, but if she were blasted with a grenade launcher, her "armor" would shatter and be disabled temporarily. On top of that, as her enhancement acts as an additional layer of skin, or so it can be described, her "armor" can be bypassed by those who might be able to target her internal systems from outside.

Disposition
Kylie has a serious, no-nonsense attitude. She can be coarse and rude, almost resembling a schoolyard punk at times. However, despite her rough exterior, she does take her work and training at the Academy seriously. In that regard, one could describe her as someone with the academics of a model student, but with the outward personality of a delinquent. Though she may be critical of others, it often comes from a place of genuinely wanting to see them reach their full potential. Indeed, as a testament to her dedication to self-improvement for all, it is known that she tutors less experienced students. She is also occasionally seen as a teacher aide as well, though this might just be more nepotism than anything.

Consistent to her serious, go-getter mien, Kylie can be steadfast and headstrong, yet is also loyal and honorable, hating lies and deceit more than most things.

History
Kylie is very secretive about her past. Throughout the years she has spent at Arthur Gray's, most people really only know about her that she lives with her uncle, who also happens to be a teacher at the school. On the subject of her parents, Kylie only occasionally responds as much as "they aren't around."

Due to her personality, Kylie quickly cultivated a bit of a reputation during her time at the school as a scary delinquent, though the few people that have managed to earn her friendship will know better. After three years at Arthur Gray's, she is around the top of her class and expected to become a member of the New Guard once she graduates.

Other Details
She intends for her hero name to be "Blitz."

Mind

Power
Mental Boost - An ability very similar to Kylie's own "Enhancement" ability, albeit focused on the mind rather than the physical body. Also like Kylie's ability, Christian must actively choose to activate his power rather than it being automatic.

Christian is able to process and retain information at a superhuman rate, similar to one with a photographic memory. When his power is active, he is able to read and perfectly comprehend hundreds of words a second, allowing him to pick up a skill or become knowledgeable in a certain subject. Like with normal human cognition however, his knowledge of a certain subject fades over time, but repeated learning can make such a subject remain in his mind permanently. On the note of processing information faster, this also means he can process and react to images faster, essentially granting himself heightened reflexes when active and allowing him to make decisions faster or even observe physical feats that he can mimic.

Otherwise, he's not too practical in a fight. The real power is knowledge, as they say.

History
A mild-mannered teacher at the Academy, he is also Kylie's paternal uncle, and her legal guardian when she was younger, though they still appear to live together. His cheery demeanor and level disposition give him an air of youth, coupled with his soft appearance, despite his age. His friendly personality and commitment to the job have led him to be considered a rather well-liked teacher by both the students and staff.

His backstory however remains just as shrouded as his niece's. It is known however that he is, on record, one of the first Coursers, having developed his power as a teenager during the first onset. It is because of his intimate understanding of power usage, built up from years of experience ever since the beginning of Coursers in general, that enabled him to become a respected professor for Arthur Gray's.

Power
Spatial Manipulation - The ability to manipulate space in a myriad of different ways.

Broad in concept but extraordinarily powerful in practice, it has a myriad of applications that only a few could dream to keep up with. Thus, while unimaginably powerful even by itself, it is made even more fearsome by Wu's understanding of it, and his various applications of it as he sees fit. The unstable nature of his power, however, prompts him to carry around a sword which he uses to help "ground" his power so as to not accidentally overshoot and potentially result in catastrophe.

His unique power has a great number of applications that Wu can use to his advantage:

Space Erasure - Wu can erase space and anything occupying it if he chooses to. This is one application which is far more powerful when Wu uses his unrestrained mind for it, though he mostly prefers to use his sword for it, using this application by way of slashing at the air. When he erases unoccupied space by itself, the effect can be observed in the form of a visible tear in the air, akin to a rip in a piece of paper, with only a black void underneath. If someone were to attempt to step into this "nonexistent space," they would simply suddenly appear right in front of the tear, as though having teleported about two feet forward. This "tear" in space eventually mends itself though, after just a few seconds, as though space wills itself to be repaired. However, if Wu were to erase space occupied by an object, the affected object does not return. In other words, if he erases the space in which an object resides, the object is never seen again. Theoretically, he can use this application to erase a person in their entirety from existence, though he has never dared to use it that way.
Effect Teleportation- This application is most evident when used in conjunction with another object, such as his sword. As the name implies, he can use his power to "teleport" the effect of something a great distance further. For example, even while standing several feet away from someone, Wu can still cut them with his sword, slashing at the air and having the cuts affect where the person in question is standing.
Teleportation - A by-product of both of the aforementioned applications is that Wu can even teleport himself certain distances, but only to relatively short distances. By erasing space in certain areas, Wu can use these tears as "portals" for him to disappear into and reappear from, though he has to be able to see where exactly he is cutting and reappearing from.
Space Density - Wu can "harden" a given area of space and completely solidify it for a small period of time, essentially creating an invisible wall in other words. He can use this "solidified space" for a multitude of uses, such as a barrier to protect himself from attack or for it to get in the way of someone's path of travel in order to impede them.

History
The newest and youngest member of the top seven of the New Guard, Wu quickly proved himself worthy of his ranking due to not just his fearsome power, but his level demeanor and his ability to act well under pressure.

Descended from Chinese immigrant parents and born & raised in the United States, Wu had always been known to be something of a quiet, solitary child; other children often found it difficult to get along with him due to his unexcitable nature and inability to relate with his interests. He discovered his extraordinary power at the age of 16. While others might have felt catastrophic shock upon such a discovery, especially at that age, it was fortunate that such a power befell someone as detached and calm as Wu, in a manner of speaking. He spent the following six years at Arthur Gray's, before spending another two years climbing the ranks of the New Guard until he firmly reached the place of the Number Three in the entire organization.

In conjunction with his rank in the organization, it is theorized that Wu is one of the most powerful Coursers in the entire world. It is even speculated that he may one day rise to the rank of Number Two in the New Guard, as he holds third place due to him being relatively new.

Other Information
Due to being such a recent graduate from Arthur Gray's, he may just recognize certain students if he bumps into them, especially other Reality students.

A popular rumor is that his friends nickname him "Wu Zhang Clan" after a certain music group. The main point of contention to this however is that no one knows if he even has friends at all.

History
A prolific and popular member of Seattle's City Council, Hughes's name has drawn widespread attention over the last few years as a passionate champion of courser rights. Despite his seemingly cold and aloof exterior, Hughes is in reality charismatic and ardent in his fight for equal rights for all.

However, for all his popularity in the public eye, Hughes is surprisingly adept at keeping his personal life private. Very little is known about his earlier life. It is rumored that he was once married in the past, but the identity of his supposed former wife is also unknown.

Other Information
Despite some speculation that Hughes himself is secretly a Courser from the public, he is an ordinary human for all intents and purposes, not exhibiting any signs of possessing any powers himself.

Name: Morgan Ryan Jones

Age: 20

Gender: Male

Appearance: View attachment 8916
(FC: Ryan Douglas Bowden)
Morgan stands at 6'2 inches tall and has a light growth of facial hair on his face. He has brown hair and blue eyes along with a scar under the right side of his jacket. He sports a grey light coat and wears a grey t-shirt along with jeans on most occasions. He also is somewhat well built, but is incredibly thin.

Power Grade: B

As training with hero groups requires a higher power grade, player characters must have a very good reason to be involved with a lower grade.)

Power Category: Mind

Power: Creation- Morgan can use his power to will objects that can deal physical damage ( knives, guns, swords, etc) into existence. However, despite his best efforts, these objects and animals have a fatal flaw, they cannot function the same as their original purpose ( A gun can shoot fire but it isn't going to be doing bullets.) The objects created, though seemingly out of nowhere are actually extensions of himself and as such directly correlate to the amount of energy he has ( The more he uses it, the more exhausted he gets to the point where he can and has passed out if he abuses it) Morgan will graduate once he is able to make things without flaws.

Disposition: Morgan had always been a bit of a daydreamer, unable to focus on the here and now, but moving through the motions day by day He enjoys taking time to himself as well as nature. He never much cared to be the next big superhero, preferring instead to learn his powers so he can live a semi normal life. He also loves the arts as well as reading books in his free time. He also enjoys working out a little bit, but doesn't do it often.

History: Morgan grew up with a pretty normal life, being the older brother to his much smarter and determined young sister. He enjoyed the simple things and didn't cause much of a stir. He developed his power at around 7, but was very unnoticeable as he didn't actively realize he was even making things. It wasn't until he was fifteen that he even learned that he was different. He has spent the past five years a the school, scrapping by with the bare minimum in terms of academic and focusing instead on mastering his powers.

Relationships: TBD

Other Details: His hero codename would be Figment

Name: Nathaniel 'Nathan' Stone

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Appearance: View attachment 8935
Nathan is incredibly lanky and stands at about 6 feet tall. While not in the strange combination of a blazer with dress shirt and jeans, he can be seen wearing a leather jacket with t-shirt and jeans or sometimes a blazer, T-shirt and jeans. He never wears anything short sleeves or shorts to conceal the scars he got from his abusive adopted family.

Power Grade: A

Power Category: Biology

Power: Power Absorption (Siphoning)- When Nathan comes in direct contact (skin to skin) with someone, he can temporarily use their powers as long as he remains within ten paces of them. This version of their power is weaker and has less control than their own. The more time he spends near someone, the more power he can absorb. However, this caps off at 1/4 of the maximum power. He can temporarily absorb one power at a time. However, his powers are always active..... which means he can never come into physical contact with anyone for long. Nathan however isn't the biggest fan of his powers and is always wearing gloves to avoid physical contact with other students.

Disposition: Nathaniel is a very intelligent and well versed individual. He is very open with everyone that he meets and doesn't hold back his opinions. He will often tell you if he hates you and his reasoning for it too. He also can be heavily flirty when anyone who interest him as he is a die heart romantic. Known to use sarcasm as a defense, he is often shown using it to avoid his own pain of his past. Despite seeming happy, he harbors a darker side to himself. When angered, he is known to be violent and prone to be very aggressive with others. Simiarliy, he is very easily to be manipulate to get on your side. He just wants to survive...

History: Ever heard of Murphy's Law? The belief that anything that can go wrong will go wrong. That defines Nathan's entire life. When he was born, his family was attacked by an unknown killer, who killed his older brother. For the next two years, his family was on edge and moved around a lot. Someone the killer found them again, and at age two and his father was killed as well. Ever more fearful for her life, his mom and him moved for two more years but as you guessed, she was killed as well. n orphan at age 4, he grew up in an orphanage until he was adopted by an incredibly abusive family at age 7 where he lived for four years, just surviving. At age eleven, he ran away from them and was on his own for four years before he discovered his powers and has been at Arthur Gray.

Player Characters

Name
Thomas "Tommy" King

Age
19

Gender
Male

Appearance
Tommy stands at 6’2” with broad shoulders and a pretty muscular build. He keeps his blond hair generally pretty short and in cuts that have been popular mainstays since the 2020s. He’s finally getting to the point where he might be able to grow a full beard soon but it is not quite there. As such, he usually has a t least a smattering of stubble. His eyes are green, almost hazel, and he has a bit of an energetic look in them. His face is a bit on the square-jawed side and he’s considered pretty handsome by most. He sports an oval birthmark that touches his left eyebrow and a couple of faded freckles across his nose.

He does not generally put too much work into outfits and will opt for sports jerseys, jackets, and sweaters as he usually has a few on hand thanks to school sports teams. He often dresses pretty casually and can often be seen in shorts and a plain sweater if just lounging about.

Power Grade
B

Power Category
Shape

Power
Tommy has the power to sense and manipulate electricity to a limited degree. This power manifests at a basic level passively by Tommy being able to sense electrical fields and electromagnetic waves, which notably means that Tommy can roughly understand when other living beings are nearby him. As of his current power grade, this facet of the power diminishes past 25 feet as there becomes far too much electrical noise to discern. Humans and other living beings can be differentiated but not between individual humans. Other sources of electricity can be sensed and pinpointed by Tommy, though is not overall very accurate at his current grade level.

Tommy’s ability to manipulate electricity does not include the ability to generate electricity or pull electricity out of sources. What he can do involves manipulating the electric fields around himself to such means as blocking signals or magnifying himself. The latter is still weak however and at the most, Tommy could cause small metallic objects (such as a wrench) toward himself.

Tommy can also interact with equipment that runs on electricity, possibly causing it to short out.

Disposition
Tommy loves being a part of sports teams and has been participating in mostly lacrosse since he was young. He does not have a particular love for lacrosse but chose it as he deeply respected his older cousin who plays, June. Tommy does not have any professional athletes he looks up to but does fancy the idea of becoming one himself. He’s actually pretty good at what he does and the praise that has given him has given Tommy a sense that he’s made to be a bit of an important guy. He is pretty much a dick to those who don’t measure up and he generally doesn’t regard people outside of his social circles with much respect.

Tommy hasn’t particularly excelled at any subject and has largely coasted through school. His mother once wanted him to do something involving medicine when he was young but that was long since abandoned. Tommy’s pretty prideful and doesn’t like to think about doing something he would describe as “boring.” He thinks he’s bound to do something great eventually and he’s just about popular enough and handsome enough that few people make him think otherwise.

Performative is how one would describe Tommy, if they knew him well to some degree. Unfortunately, Tommy lets few people in. He is undeniably close to his family, especially his cousin, but Tommy finds it hard to establish real connections with others. He’s the kind of guy who can say he has a lot of friends but has a hard time determining if he’d call any of them true friends. He’s afraid of rejection or failure and thus doesn’t give many people a chance to put him in that position. He doesn’t let many know him beyond a surface level and can come off as the kind of guy who really lives up to the stereotype of a shallow, uncaring jock.

Tommy loves the attention sports gives him but also the camaraderie. As he’s found this kind of companionship easily in sports, as shallow as it can be, he uses it as a crutch instead of perhaps making connections with people who share his interests in stuff like film or online video games.

Tommy’s feelings on Coursers was largely negative before it turned out he was one. Some of his teammates in his first years of high school turned out to have powers and ended up kicked off teams or shuttled off to new schools. Considering the national debate about Coursers in professional sports, Tommy found the idea terrifying that you could have this power you didn’t know about potentially get you banned from playing. As such, he’s pretty upset that he has powers but knows it’s just something he’ll have to deal with.

History
Tommy grew up fairly well off in Seattle with both his mom and a little brother, Sean. Tommy’s father left his mother when he was four and his brother was only one, leaving his mother to raise them. Unfortunately, Tommy’s mom was a fairly new doctor and an incredibly busy woman with little time for new relationships or being a single mother. As a result, Tommy’s aunt and uncle largely took care of the two brothers and they both saw their cousin, June, as an older sister.

Tommy’s uncle had a massive movie collection and loved showing the kids movies from the early 2000s. Both Tommy and Sean grew up with a love for film, but Tommy started to find more enjoyment out of team sports when he was about ten, wanting to follow in June’s footsteps who was big into hockey and lacrosse. Tommy flourished in sports, getting pretty good at physical activities and turning into a pretty popular kid among his peers.

Tommy was past the age that most start exhibiting powers when it first was apparent something was off. At about 14, he started to have paranoid feelings and thoughts that he rarely was ever truly alone. Things powered by electricity would sometimes feel like they hummed or gave Tommy headaches. When he was 15, he started short-circuiting electrical appliances and equipment he touched, no matter what he did. His mom, using her medical connections, had gotten Tommy tested for the Courser gene when he was younger but urged that he should take the test a second time. When he did, it became clear he was a Courser and his mom had him registered. Most of his family saw nothing wrong with this, leaving Tommy as the most upset that he had powers. He didn’t want to leave his old school and friends behind, considering he was leaving behind his status of being a bit of a big-shot. However, he knew how he and others had treated other kids who this had happened to, so he expected the same to happen to him, no matter how popular he was.

Arthur Gray’s School of Power thankfully did allow Tommy to preemptively join the lacrosse team as part of his enrollment, but the school maintained a strict policy about not using one’s powers at any point. Not only did it seem to ruffle the least amount of feathers, but the school said it helped promote their overall goal of teaching the kids to control their powers.

Though many of Tommy's old friends shunned him for now being a Courser, his participation in lacrosse ended up landing him a similar position to the one he had at his old school. He was fairly popular, if not avoided at times due to his lack of manners. Still, he has been good looking and charming enough to get through three years of school smoothly. With near-mastery of his power nearly upon him, Tommy is set to graduate when his four years at Arthur Gray's is over.

Power
Samantha has the power to expel an intense level of force from her limbs. This energy is formless and has no visual indication beyond a shimmering of the air. Even at her current grade level, Sam can only shoot out this force in short bursts and only at the ends of her limbs. The applications of her power are limited to launching herself into the air or launching others away.

In addition, Samantha seems to have a stronger bone density than the average human, allowing her own power not to seriously injure herself and allows her to stand her ground when using her power. Her bones are not necessarily thicker but Samantha does weigh heavier than a woman her size and build should be.

Disposition
Sam’s a bit of an overachiever. She strives on getting good grades, even though it’s harder to keep up with school work when you’re also trying to work on controlling your power. She wants people to think of her as a smart, accomplished person. Largely, that means her efforts are largely image-based and kind of selfish, but it does motivate her.

She keeps up a pretty positive attitude around others as Sam’s not one to enjoy a negative vibe. She prefers to get along with the people around her and will try and make sure other people get along with each other. This sometimes rubs people the wrong way as they think Sam’s nosy. Bubbly personalities tend to get along great with her, however.

A lot of people don’t generally regard Sam as “fun.” She doesn’t like to party or drink much and considering her father works at Arthur Gray’s as a security guard, she’s generally regarded as a bit of a narc, even though Sam’s not really one to run to her father about minor stuff.

She loves small, quirky things like crossword puzzles and pixel art. She practices art in her spare time but doesn’t think she has any natural ability for it. Word puzzles, puns, and tongue twisters tend to delight her. She produces a podcast with two other students that was once just them talking about whatever they felt like but has since turned into a bit of an underground source for school gossip. The early episodes were deleted and the three of them produce the podcast anonymously.

History
Samantha’s parents moved to Vancouver very soon after she was born as her father had family there. Her parents had lived pretty hectic lives up to that point and both wanted to settle down with some degree of peace. Her father had worked as a bodyguard for some pretty big hotshots and now was finding work doing security in several places. Her mother started working for a tech company remotely as a web designer while also starting a business with her sister who wanted to sell her original clothing designs.

Growing up, Samantha was pretty spoiled by her parents and they were largely protective of her. As she was starting to become a teenager, she grew a bit rebellious and started doing actions that would upset her parents, such as staying out overnight with friends without saying anything or hanging out in places that were rather unscrupulous. Secretly, Sam hoped that something would actually happen to her, just so that her powers would awaken and she could be a Courser. Her mother was a Courser herself and despite being told she’s likely better off not having powers, Samantha envied her mother.

One day, when she was 15, something bad finally did happen, but Sam’s powers didn’t start up then. She’d been hanging outside a beer store rather openly asking people if they could buy some alcohol for her. Sam didn’t even really like to drink but danger made her feel like she was strong. After getting no one to bite, Sam went home empty-handed, but didn’t notice a man following her. She didn’t notice as he followed her on the bus and didn’t notice as he came up behind her a couple blocks from her house.

It was then that Sam’s father arrived. He beat the man off and called the police on him. A few days later, the man was arrested, but Sam received a lot of long, upsetting talks from her parents. Despite still thinking she was not a Courser, Sam started to turn around that day. The love she felt for her father when he saved her moved her almost to tears and she could not bear to put him through anything like that again. Sam stopped doing reckless activities, though she still secretly wished she had powers.

Her wishes came true a few days after her sixteenth birthday and she accidentally blew a hole through her bedroom door. She excitedly told her parents, even marveling how her powers were similar to her mothers, but her parents weren’t too happy about it. Regardless, they had Sam registered and decided to send her to a school in Seattle, as no school for Coursers yet existed in British Columbia. Her father decided to apply as a security guard at the school to keep an eye on Sam. As nice as that was, a part of Sam was horribly mortified at the thought.

Sam’s been at Arthur Gray’s for three years since then, developing her powers since then. Her mother has moved to Seattle in the meantime to be close to her daughter. Sam doesn’t really like having people know her dad’s a security guard but she can’t say she hasn’t enjoyed having him be there.

Name: Miguel Ángel Alejandro

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Appearance:
Stands at 5'6"

diHNcce.png

Power Grade: E

Power Category: Biology

Power: Miguel Ángel has the ability to copy the powers of other Coursers. He only has to be within a couple of feet of the other Courser to copy their power, which suggests there is a mental element to this process. This ability can copy parts of a power or the power wholly, faults and all, though he is limited to one power at a time.

As a side effect of this power, Miguel Ángel will change appearance in some manner related to the power. These changes are not dramatic and are mostly cosmetic, such as a change of his hair color, eye color, or skin tone. It is not entirely known what the correlation is between his copying ability and the appearance changes or what determines the changes he undergoes.

Miguel Ángel has had a power grade of E for the entirety of the two years he’s been at Arthur Gray’s. His control over his power is practically nonexistent and he will often copy powers without meaning or wanting to. There have been many incidents throughout the years of him copying powers and proceeding to use them haphazardly. Though the faculty has a careful regimen to deal with any of his outbursts, his lack of progress has led to him almost being given a power grade of F.

History: Miguel Ángel grew up in Mérida, in the Yucatán state of Mexico, within a traditional family. His father worked long hours so it fell on Miguel Ángel to look after this family. Growing up along his two sisters, he tended to be a sensitive and quiet boy who often put others before him. Their family was generally well off thanks to their father’s work and Miguel Ángel expected to go off to school for college.

However, when he was 15, a casual encounter in the street one day caused Miguel to change appearance and let a shrieking cry that sent many running from him in fear. With his skin turned deathly white and his hair turned into silver spikes, Miguel was hysterical until his mother and other concerned citizens were able to calm him down. Due to the nature of his power, it was unknown how long his powers had been active. It was imperative that Miguel Ángel learn to control himself, though a school for PEPs in Mexico was still in development, most were sent off to training programs.

Due to Miguel Ángel having an uncle in Seattle, it was decided best that he move there and attend Arthur Gray’s. Due to his uncle living nearby, Miguel didn’t stay in the dorms. Due to his character and the unsteady nature of his power, Miguel has avoided others, just working on his academics. Unfortunately, with his powers continuing to vex him, Miguel Ángel decided that in his third year, he would room in the dorms and try to meet people, hoping that exposing himself more would help him control himself.
Name: Rich Foley

Age: 21

Gender: Male

Appearance:
Stands at 6'1"

RiAIwF8.png

Power Grade: A

Power Category: Shape

Power: Rich can sense and manipulate the weather. This includes creating wind, rain, lightning, hail, snow, sleet, fog, and temperature changes. Rich can generate this natural phenomena or control the intensity of weather that is already occurring, though it is harder for Rich to dissipate natural weather phenomenon than it is to create it. His power can even be used to create weather phenomena within closed locations such as a room.

Rich has an inherent sense for what impacts his changes to the weather will create in other locations and must be mindful not to create a problematic chain reaction as his powers are limited to his immediate area (Such as only the school campus as opposed to the entirety of Seattle). His powers are countered easily by individuals who manipulate specific elements present in weather systems, such as lightning or wind.

History: Rich was born in Tacoma, Washington to two Coursers who found each other in the early days of power emerging. They and no one else knew if kids born at this time could come to develop powers but still they hid from their families for a number of years until attitudes toward PEPs changed. Wanting to be a part of the new wave of Courser heroes, both parents joined the New Guard in the early days of its inception in the early 2030’s.

Though neither parent ended up among the group’s top ranked, they had a number of fans for being a married superhero couple. Rich, even as a kid, got used to having strangers speculate on whether he would develop powers as well. It wasn’t until he was 18 and he caused a rainstorm in class that things changed.

Rich’s first three years at Arthur Gray’s had been nothing short of illustrious. Rich’s charming attitude and semi-famous hero parents meant few kids wanted to be on anything but his good side. He got impressive grades taking college classes for speech and law while also developing his powers at a steady rate. He was well-spoken and did well in the school’s politics and debate circles. In his third year, he started becoming closer with Min-a Sa as they started to share more classes and the two have been a couple ever since.

Name: George Alcast

Age: 49

Gender: Male

Appearance:
A bit of a shorter man, George stands at 5'7"

V6Dr9WZ.png

Position: Headmaster

Power Category: Mind

Power: George Alcast is a powerful telepath. He can read the minds of others, able to pinpoint individual thoughts in a crowd or dive deeply into the mind of anyone’s subconscious without them even knowing. George can send thoughts out as well, but only to those with similar types of telepathy. His power also allows for George to put an individual to sleep.

History: George Alcast was a professor of science when his powers manifested. It was 2022 and he was already 29. At first disturbed by the thoughts of his students invading his head, George took a leave of absence, where he began to study his abilities using his own family. After mastering his own abilities, George nded teaching to study other Coursers.

In the 2030s, George became a consultant to the New Guard while they were still just beginning. Using his knowledge on many Coursers, George helped the group become what they are and build their library of heroes. When Arthur Gray’s School of Power was seeking a headmaster, George was in enough people's pockets that he was the first choice.

Though George is generally affable to the student body, most kids are wary of him due to their knowledge of his powers. It is rather difficult for a rule breaker to lie to him, of course.
Name: Percival Harvey

Age: 59

Gender: Male

Appearance:
Harvey stands at 5'9"

Position: Head Energy Professor

Power Category: Energy

Power: Professor Harvey has the ability to generate fire and manipulate it into various forms. He is able to project this fire and have it act independently of himself. These can be as simple as a rolling sphere of fire or fire in the shape of a person that can attack others.

History: In 2017, Harvey was a museum curator for a natural history museum that contained exhibits of plants, insects, minerals, and fossils. After the event that awakened powers across the world, Harvey’s powers came about and he ended up burning down one of the exhibits. Harvey was fired from his job and fined, though no one knew it was due to him being a Courser. For many years after, Harvey secluded himself from family and friends to learn to control his power. He was scared of himself and for what he could do to those he loved.

It wasn’t until 20 years later that Harvey allowed himself contact with others. Even though the world around him had progressed and Coursers had resources to help learn about their abilities, Harvey had ensured he taught himself and himself alone for all those years. His family no longer wanted contact with him which was fine by Harvey, who still had an innate fear of hurting them.

One day following this, Harvey had the inspiration to teach young Coursers in order to instill in them the grave responsibility he had come to learn. He applied to Arthur Gray’s School of Power and has been teaching there since its inception.
Name: Randal Flynn

Age: 38

Gender: Male

Appearance:
Stands at 6'3"

ZmISSUd.png

Position: Head Physical Professor

Power Category: Physical

Power: Randal has enhanced strength beyond normal human capability. He can lift up to 105 tons. He is also able to reach speeds of 44mph when running.

History: Despite initially studying for a career in teaching, Randal is better known as a former reality TV star and actor who first got his start on the reality show Last One Standing when he was only 20. His boisterous personality got him spots on other popular reality TV shows such as Love in the City and Follow the Voice. Randal quickly fell into the idea of being a professional “reality TV star.” He was a recurring face on Battle 101 for four seasons in a row until he went and threw another contestant across the room during a dramatic argument.

Shamed and kicked off the show, Randal ended up bursting in popularity from the public while coming to terms with his powers. Once he became more in control of his abilities, Randal ended up joining even more reality TV and getting bit acting roles. His entire gimmick revolved around him being one of the few visible PEPs at the time, though his popularity waned quickly. Randal fell into alcoholism in his early 30s and was even busted by the New Guard once when trashing his neighbor’s home while drunk.

After serving some time and becoming sober, Randal was given two opportunities. Arthur Gray’s School of Power was seeking a replacement faculty member and approached him for the opportunity. As well, a rising media company offered him a spot on the new reality TV show for Coursers: Power v. Power. In the end, Randal happily took the job at Arthur Gray’s instead.

New Guard Members

Name: Sandra Cohen
Code Name: Flick

Age: 38

Gender: Female

Group Ranking: 2nd

Power Category: Reality

Power: Limited Vector Manipulation. Vectors such as velocity and force can be manipulated by Sandra upon most objects. The concept of force makes up acceleration, magnitude, and direction, meaning Sandra can precisely shoot objects she is touching in any direction and at any speed she desires. She is able to manipulate these vectors upon matter that touches her, allowing her to reflect away anything harmful. However, she is unable to do this on threats she does not see coming or objects too fast for her to perceive, such as a bullet.

In theory, Sandra can manipulate forces on the ground to affect faraway matter, but she does not have the mental capacity required for this and so such attempts would likely cause nothing but destruction.

Sandra is also able to fly by manipulating the forces of air and gravity upon her body.

History: Sandra realized her powers at 28, which was unusual for most Coursers. She was a new mother at the time and so was afraid for her new family thanks to her abilities, which proved to be rather dangerous. Sandra entered into a program in order to help develop her ability to control her abilities, where it turned out she had a strong natural control over her powers, leading some to believe she might have been unconsciously avoiding uses of her power for years.

Though Sandra had no desire to become a hero, when she was 31 she rose to fame for putting an end to a terrorist bomb threat at a mall she had been shopping at with zero casualties. Unable to cope with her abilities, her husband divorced her at this time, leading Sandra to eventually take an offer to join The New Guard due to the benefits that were offered for her daughter.

She has been in the spotlight for some time and has recently written a book about her life as a government-sponsored Courser.
Name: Jack
Code Name: N/A

Age: 44

Gender: Male

Group Ranking: 6th

Power Category: Reality

Power: Subjective Gravity. Jack can manipulate how forces of gravity act upon his body. He is able to manipulates Earth's gravity to affect him at a different angle, and as such, it is no stronger or weaker than normal, just changed direction, as if the mass is in another direction. This ability can only be applied to Jack's own body, and not his clothing, other people, or objects.

As a result of this ability, Jack can achieve a sort of "flight", required that he is able to concentrate hard enough and is not exhausted at the time.

Displacement. Essentially teleporting, Jack can displace himself and anything in his possession as long it weighs no more than 130 kilograms, to anywhere in a radius of around 1255 feet (When teleporting multiple people/things, the weight is added). The movement is instantaneous though there is a bit of delay where Jack's body must rest before he can teleport himself or anything again. At the most, this only last a few seconds, but it can be severe depending on what he is teleporting and his exhaustion.

If Jack can think of a place in mind, the displacement will always end up at that location. A break in concentration can only cause the displacement to fail. If Jack can think of no place in mind, the displacement is random. There can be no physical, solid object occupying the space of where Jack's intended destination is. This causes the teleport to move from its destination or simply not work.

History: Jack was one of the first Coursers to realize his powers back in 2018. During this time, there was a lot of confusion about the future for those with powers, so many Coursers fell in with others to protect themselves from citizen outcry and the government's prying eyes. Jack joined a gang that caused some havoc in the city of Chicago as they attempted to takeover a section of the city in order to protect themselves. The gang ended up in a rivalry with another group of Coursers and the two groups fought until eventually coming to a truce.

As Courser sympathy started on the rise in the years following, Jack went off the grid for a long time. In the early 2030s he eventually ended up on the West coast, doing odd jobs until an incident forced him to use his powers to save the life of another. The incident got enough attention that Jack couldn't stay under the radar for much longer. Though he had been jaded by the early days of PEP discrimination, he found he enjoyed the positive attention and began using his powers to save people when he could.

Jack was eventually approached to join The New Guard's Seattle division, which he decided he may as well do.
Character Name: Eleena
Code Name: Wildspark

Gender: Female

Age: 26

Character Appearance: Her right hand, which is plainly robotic from elbow to hand is about the only thing that betrays her physiology.

Group Ranking: 7th

Power Category: Biological

Power: Electric Soul. An exceptionally strong sense of being exists within Eleena. Based on her willpower, she is able to produce and control large amounts of electricity. The functions are very versatile, but the strength of the power is dependent upon her 'willpower' or passion. In short, she's strongest when she's fighting for something important. This means that if her spirit/mind is broken, her powers reflect that and become nearly useless. However because this power is fueled from Eleena's willpower, it will be at full power if her body is broken but mind remains firm. Another drawback of this ability is that if she produces too much electricity, it can damage both her body and mind. At times, she's 'limited' to small-scale use of this power, such as electric arrows or a sword, but once more it depends on what her current willpower towards the situation is. Eleena's artificial right arm limits the output of Electric Soul to an internally safe level unless disarmed.

Cybernetics. Augmentation of her body using mechanics. With these, her initially weak body became superhuman. Although focused mainly on speed, her strength and durability are also quite something. The strength and speed is due to her Electric Soul ability, giving her a large pool of energy to use for her mechanics. The more electricity used for physical prowess the less she has for other means. Still, the machine part of her still has its physical limits. At max, she can lift a lighter car with much strain, and out-speed one at full throttle. Eleena's augmentations include an artificial heart, a mechanical right arm, and the ability to interface witha special pair of rollerblades.

Electromagnetic Rollerblades. Custom made to link to ports in her feet when put on. Although it actually reduces her maximum speed when charged with Electric Soul, it allows for more control. In addition, more electricity can be used to create a static field on the rollerblade's path, allowing them to transverse tough terrain for a short time, no matter the direction or roughness. Thankfully the static field acts as a buffer, so even if she goes straight up a building it won't leave marks.

Corporation Support. It's not an actual power, but it should be noted. She has rather close ties with a cybernetics-cum-weapons corporation overseas. With at least half of her body belonging to them, they're rather interested in their investment. While they won't supply things for trivial matters, she can count on their support when something big goes down. Or if she needs more repairs, of course.

History: Unique among those who would eventually realize they possessed the Courser gene, Eleena was born a very sickly child. Considering her mother died during childbirth, her father was completely worried about his daughter's future. And it was completely justified, for she had a weak body, and if often just didn't work. Even worse, she had a proactive personality to the point where she was the most dangerous thing to herself. Despite being young, she had an urge to live and do things. It would be there even without her conditions, but it was strengthened even more because of them. One day the two family members were out on the town. A bit unlucky, a car careened off the road and toward them. Eleena, being the way she was, stepped forward and 'covered' her father despite only being six. Anxious? Of course she was? Afraid? More like terrified. But she still did it. Though the car ended up stopping before hitting them, the event took a toll on Eleena's body and she had a heart attack. They were in the middle of the city in daylight, so an ambulance arrived quickly.

But an ambulance wouldn't have helped. Even a team of doctors at the ready may not have done much good.

The heart attack burst multiple arteries in her right arm, and she bled in. Eleena lived long enough to reach the hospital, at which point amputation was the only solution. It wasn't much of a chance to get her to live, but it was still a chance and her father went with it. Her strong will, her want to live, her love for her father... did nothing. Eleena died, and the only thing that kept her father from killing himself was her funeral. But surprisingly enough, she revived before then. It was nonsensical, nothing that could even be called magic. Simply put, it was a gift of the universe. A surge of electricity like lightning within lit up her heart a day after her death. It spread through her body, and every neuron fired off pain signals. She was supposed to be dead, after all. It was completely dark, what with her locked in a drawer in the morgue. Completely alone with that pain, unsure whether she was alive or in a torturous hell, Eleena firmly hoped she was alive. And so, she lived.

It was with much confusion and worry that she was found. It was presumed that she was a Courser and that her powers had activated upon her death. Her father was heart-torn. His child was alive, but in so much constant pain. And with her body still the way it was, there was still much to worry about. Justifiably so, since she 'died' twice from the agony before a solution arrived. The solution was found in the Father's overseas company, (he worked in a branch office,) who had shown quite an interest in the child who came back from the dead and seemed to produce electricity. In the end a rather dark deal was cut. The company had legal bribery available. Not only could they save the daughter, which convinced the father's mind, but she could also be a 'hero,' which convinced her own. And so she was turned into a cyborg, both to save her and to use her.

- Roman has only one power, inherent to his biology - he simply cannot die.

The long explanation is, Roman's body possesses an exceptionally powerful regenerative factor and exists in a general state of being that renders him incapable of ever truly 'dying.' When parts of Roman's body are injured or destroyed, they automatically begin regenerating from remaining cells, often going quicker if there are "pieces" of his destroyed body present nearby. However, larger chunks of flesh require Roman to manually will himself to regenerate them at a reasonable pace - this required some practice and was the basis of his power training. When he first started out, it took him hours to regenerate a single hand.

Nowadays, this regeneration can take anywhere from seconds to minutes to hours depending on the severity of his injury and whether or not he is able to salvage dismembered pieces of his body. His regeneration seems to prioritize repairing his brain and head before all other parts of his body. Roman can theoretically regenerate his entire body from a single cell within a few days or so, forming his head first and then the rest of his body (so that he can call for someone to retrieve his head, obviously).

On top of the regenerative factor, Roman's body exists in a baffling state between life and death, walking and talking and yawning like a fully-fleshed living person while every medical examination would determine him to be clinically dead. He lacks a pulse, none of his internal organs appear to function, his skin is frigid to the touch, all scanners report zero brain activity, and no blood pumps through his veins - and yet, he remains fully animate.

Roman's general sense of touch is extremely dull, and he has no sense of pain at all. He has no sense of smell nor taste. He feels no need no eat or drink, he unbothered by extreme temperatures on both ends of the scale, and he lacks any need to sleep. His body does not gain nor lose weight, eating and exercise do nothing for him. Though it may go without saying, Roman is physically incapable of aging or feeling the effects of age, nor does his body decompose or degrade naturally - he is, in his current state, functionally immortal.

Roman can remain fully conscious and aware of everything around himself so long as his brain is intact. Even if he is decapitated, he can still talk and control his body. Losing certain parts of his head will still be debilitating (i.e. if he loses his eyes or ears he can't see or hear if he loses parts of his mouth he can't talk) until they are regenerated. However, if Roman's brain sufficiently damaged or outright destroyed, it will result in his body and any dismembered limbs to enter a sort of 'autopilot' stance where they silently shamble about aimlessly until his brain regenerates, much like a headless chicken. Roman likens the experience of brainlessness to be like 'dreaming.'

Besides being able to exert himself without any care for injury and make moves that would be (quite literally) suicidal for other Coursers, Roman is otherwise completely unremarkable in his physical characteristics. Getting trapped under something heavy has been his main weakness thus far.

Of course, we know that his body cannot be destroyed. But his mind most certainly can.

Not the brain, but the mind. In spite of his undying body, Roman's esoteric, mental 'self' - the entity which only Mind and Reality-type supers can really interact with - remains utterly defenseless.

Full Body Control - So long as his brain is intact, Roman is capable of controlling his limbs and torso independent of the rest of his body, describing it as having a "strong connection" to every cell that makes up his form. If his arm is hacked off, he can still wiggle and control the arm almost as effectively as if it was still attached. If he is decapitated, he can still move the rest of his headless body about (albeit in a very clumsy matter).

He has a very vague but present sense of touch in his dismembered limbs, allowing him to feel things without actually seeing them. Most of the time, Roman uses this ability to locate and retrieve his body parts to put himself back together quicker, though he has experimented with intentionally severing his hand and using it as an 'all-natural drone.'

Most people think that idea is really gross.

Disposition
Roman would describe himself as a "pretty chill dudeski." He is a very low-energy, very laid-back, 'go-with-the-flow' person that strives to maintain a generally calm, aloof attitude wherever he goes. His reputation among his classmates and fellow heroes is anywhere between "chill confidant and 'mediator' for all problems" to "lazy, smelly deadbeat that doesn't deserve his 'gift.'" Given his unique ability, to say that Roman isn't much afraid of just about anything would be a great understatement. Roman exists in a perpetual state of contentment and aloofness that has thus far been unbroken for everyone who has interacted with him. He doesn't take himself or his life particularly seriously and does his best to listen more often than he talks. He doesn't really care about any problems that come his way and any genuine negative emotions he may feel are deliberately masked behind a half-lidded, dumbly content grin.

Roman gets along with just about anyone, though he doesn't appreciate the vibe given off by people who take the whole 'hero business' too seriously, which he sees as more of a "good samaritan type deal" rather than something to build his entire life around. Though he does genuinely wish to help people when they are in need. A natural consequence of his ability is forgetting that other people can't live forever, and so he feels a natural obligation to do what most are never willing to do.

Roman enjoys doing anything other than excessively hard physical work. He has a serious procrastination problem and often needs someone else to force him to get to work, but he proves to be an unusually sophisticated soul when putting his thoughts onto paper. He has an interest in art, history, and anthropology, having an unnerving amount of knowledge about very specific details regarding certain historical events. When asked where he learned such info, he often shrugs and says "he just knows it," often getting him in trouble for failing to cite his sources.

He enjoys listening to audiobooks and podcasts (he recently started listening to a locally-produced one that he considers to be 'pretty chill' - gossip isn't his thing but the vibes are nice) and he sometimes enjoys engaging in long conversations about very arbitrary and pointless things, like whether a grizzly bear could beat a silverback gorilla in a fight.

History
Roman spent much of his early life amid the frigid, homely atmosphere of Anchorage - at least, that's how he remembered when he was a kid. His father is a first-generation immigrant, a Russian engineer that moved to Alaska in the early 90s seeking a better job market than what was available in the old country. At some point, he must have met a woman, otherwise Roman wouldn't exist, but Roman doesn't remember his mother in the slightest. All he ever had since he could first recall was his dad, living in their tiny little apartment, every day a question of if the food would end up on the table.

Growing up, Roman was a quiet and reserved kid that never asked for much. Though his dad was rugged and forced to raise a boy all on his lonesome, he treated Roman like the only good thing he had in his life. Some would call it over-protective and sheltering, but in their cold little home, Roman didn't mind being cherished, even if he didn't understand why his dad got so angry every time he stayed out for too long. The public school brought Roman plenty of friends (the only other kids his age, he was more or less forced to be their friends) and just enough motivation to scrape by with passing grades.

One night in a frigid December weekend, just before Christmas break, Roman got roped into a dingy highschool party being hosted way across town in East Anchorage by some of his buddies. Dad explicitly forbade him from getting involved with parties and 'stupid shit,' but by this point, Roman was eighteen years old. He wanted to try and do something 'wild' for once, and as much as he loved his dad for everything he did for him, his overprotectiveness became suffocating. Against his better judgment, he'd sneak out while his dad worked a night shift.

The party was pretty shit. The music was too loud, Roman didn't know anyone there, and his feet hurt. He didn't mind seeing his buddies have a good time, but this kind of stuff was never his style. Then, shit hit the fan. Someone started yelling over the music, and people's attention slowly turned towards the center of the room. More dudes started drunkenly shouting and throwing out insults and slurs - some kind of fight broke about.

One of the dudes happened to be his best friend, the only kid in highschool that Roman felt even a modicum of camaraderie with, and he was being shouted down by some big, skinhead-looking thug that looked way too old to be in a highschool party. Roman wanted to leave or hope that his buddy just walked it off. Then, the skinhead clocked him. Boom, right in the mouth. Friend goes down instantly, blood-soaked between his teeth. Eyes fluttering, his only buddy Then, something happened. Something in Roman told him to get up. Something unusual sparked Roman to put down his cup and slowly tread towards the source of the sound.

That was the last time Roman ever felt pain in his knuckles, with how hard he smashed that fuckstick across the face. He's stumbling back, reeling. Eyes flooded with frustrated rage. The smell of piss booze on his breath. The crowd of kids was like a roaring pack, cheering for the underdog. It felt really good. Like, damn, this is hype. Roman didn't really have any chance to see the skinhead pulling something black out of his jacket.

His ears started ringing and the room got really bright, like flashes of light, and Roman's chest suddenly felt really warm. Then, it got really dark. And then it got really cold.

As far as the news headlines are concerned, nineteen-year-old Roman Yedemsky was shot and killed in East Anchorage that Saturday night. An altercation occurred during a large party, and at some point, there were reports of multiple shots fired. Five people were found with gunshot wounds - two men and three women. One was found dead on the scene while the other four were transported to the hospital. The police identified Roman Yedemsky as the one who was killed, finding several gunshot wounds in his chest.

Dad couldn't really afford to host a funeral. There wouldn't be that many people that would come, anyway. They had a modest burial a week after. The news of Yedemsky's murder spread in the state but was otherwise unremarkable. After that, well, nothing really happened. A kid got killed in a party and life moved on. Dad didn't have any friends or anyone that would really console him beside Grandpa and Grandma.

About a month following Yedemsky's death, a mourner passing through the local graveyard in Anchorage couldn't help but be distracted by a sound. It was like pounding, a percussive thump-thump-thump, shaking her out of her quiet moment. When she looked around, there was no obvious source of the noise, but it kept going. Thump thump thump. She felt the ground beneath her feet morph slightly, bending upward like something was pushing the dirt up from beneath.

An ear-piercing shriek followed a woman sprinting out of the graveyard in broad daylight, as a fully-formed hand shot out from the ground in front of a cheap unmarked wooden grave. Bystanders looked on in confusion-turned-horror as they reported an individual "rising" out of the ground, hacking and spitting dirt. When the police arrived on the scene, there was no man. A large six-feet-deep as all that remained, leading into the shattered remains of a wooden coffin.

This incident was never reported outside of Anchorage and most witnesses have been "strongly recommended" to keep quiet by certain interesting elements seeking to quietly register and induct a new Courser to Arthur Gray's without inciting panic. Any and all articles referencing one Roman Yedemsky in the state of Alaska officially do not exist. Completely unrelated to this event, Roman Yedemsky was admitted to Arthur Gray's a few months later.

Roman's been at Gray's for at least three years, his dad having been moved out of Alaska after a long period of government-provided therapy and relocation efforts (that period was rough, cuz it wasn't fun to walk in on Dad with half a double-barrel in his mouth and a finger around the trigger). His course material has been pretty wack. He doesn't like to talk about his past that much.

All he knows is that he's been chosen. By who, why, who knows. But they joked that he's gonna have to be the one to bail everyone out.

Just like he always did.

Relationships
AJ Garcia -
One of Roman's many bros and fellow classmates. AJ is the type of person to motivate Roman to get up do something meaningful with his eternal life, while Roman is the type to bring him back down to earth if he shoots up high. They get along fairly well. He seems to be aware of AJ's temper affecting his powers, so Roman may feel a need to be around and calm him down after a heated encounter - even if it means eating a lightning bolt to the face.

Roman called him "AJ the cable guy" once.

Maia Drake - One of Roman's friends, which he met as she hangs around AJ a lot. Maia seems to think that Roman only 'tolerates' her, but Roman enjoys her being around more than he does with other people. They have a unique power combination that Roman often thinks about - though he also thinks she's rad for basically being a vampire.

Kassandra "Kasey" Giadaq - A closer friend of ol' Romeski, despite them being almost complete opposites. Romeski feels an obligation to keep Kasey 'anchored' to reality by staying calm and level-headed while she's bouncing off the walls with her exuberant personality, though Kasey is also someone who tries to push Romeski to get up and get out there.

Other Details
He can totally speak Russian.
He intends for his hero name (as in he was asked once and came up with it on the spot) to be "Lich."

Name: Rashida Walters

Age: 20

Gender: Female

Appearance:
LOTAzcS.png

Rashida’s 5’6, she has black shoulder-length hair, hazel colored eyes. She was born with phocomelia, so she has no arms. She exercises regularly and is quite toned.

Power Grade: A

Power Category: Energy

Power: Able to form six energy limbs that manifest on her back. They give her a certain amount of superhuman strength. For the time being her upper limit is around 75 tons if she pushes herself to the limit. She can even use them to protect from attacks.

Disposition: Physically active, Rashida opens her mornings with a jog for that morning rush. She can come off as a bit of a hard ass and a buzz kill but she’s willing to open up to people after she’s gotten to know them for a longer time.

History: Born in New Orleans to two loving parents. While she was born with phocomelia she’s never wanted anyone to feel sorry for her and has tried her best to be as autonomous as possible. Her dream is to work as a personal trainer, but when her powers started to emerge she knew that she’d had to gain some form of mastery over them before she could continue on with having a normal life for herself.

Name: Ann Dolby

Age: 22

Gender: Female

Appearance:
xR2IAtS.png

Ann is 6’3’, has blue eyes and long black hair. She has a number of tattoos on her body that she loves to talk about if someone asks her about them. Usually wears tank tops and shorts due to the nature of her powers.

Power Grade: B

Power Category: Biology

Power: Rubber physiology – Ann’s powers gives her body the properties of rubber, allowing her to stretch any part of her body in any direction before snapping back to his center of gravity like a rubber band. Her physiology also gives her durability where blunt attacks won't hurt her.

At the level, she is if she extends too far it will take her body longer to return to its original shape nor will it always snap back leaving her an uncoiled mess if she’s not careful.

Softening - When Ann hits something with her fists, she can soften said object into a rubber-like consistency. Any material, even metal or rock, will be softened into the same state. Said objects gain consistency and elasticity akin to rubber or putty, unable to be crushed or be punctured by any force including sharp objects and thus making said object many times more resilient. She can even soften moving objects like bullets, causing projectiles to merely flatten upon contact. Not only that, moving objects that are softened retain their kinetic energy when returned to normal, allowing Trish to unleash surprise attacks using projectiles that were thought to be neutralized.

Because of the elasticity, the object accumulates energy when deformed and, when allowed to return to normal can create a sudden, violent backlash.

The softness can persist even if contact between Ann and the object is broken.

Disposition: Ann is upbeat and joyful and will attempt to cheer up someone if need be. She can be flirtatious at times and possesses a carefree and naive nature.

When Ann has made up her mind about something, she will not listen to anyone who tells her otherwise. Though she means well, Ann can be insensitive to other people's problems. She’s also an avid comic book collector and reader so she was very excited when she first received her powers.

History: Ann (born Chris) was originally from El Paso Texas where she grew up with a single mother. Ever since she was young she’s been really into the superhero genre and vigorously read anything she could get her hands on. Ann’s grandfather owned a hobby shop where she would peruse it’s contents when she was waiting for her mother to get off work. They were really close and when she got older she started to help around the shop.

Her grandfather’s death triggered her powers and while others might have been fearful of their new abilities Ann was ecstatic. Finally, her dreams of being a superhero could come true. Despite gaining her powers she barely had any control over them and that’s why she enrolled in the school to get training and possibly having the opportunity to live out her fantasies.

Name: Kassandra Giadaq, Kasey by close friends

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Appearance: View attachment 8937
Kasey is a brunette with bright aqua eyes and a double-pigtail hairstyle, standing at a height of 5'11". You can almost always find her wearing a jean jacket, even a sleeveless one, with a graphic T-shirt and jean shorts.

Power Grade: B

Power Category:
Energy

Power: Kasey has the ability to manifest and control crystals, to put it bluntly, but there's a bit more to it than that. Kasey naturally has an affinity to crystal-like things, often leading a shaking sensation she feels, and she can guess with about 75% accuracy what kind of mineral something is made out of it it's something along the lines of a ruby, pearl, opal, diamond, etc.

But beyond sensing, Kasey can manifest crystals. This ability has more to do with her mind; she can just focus on one specific area, and a mineral/crystal of her choice could appear... that is, if she was proficient with this part of her power. In theory, she should be able to make sculptures and objects out of just about any crystal you could imagine, but the "creating something with your mind" part requires focus, and Kasey's ADHD makes that aspect of it much more difficult. She currently has the ability to make two crystal shards at once mentally, and she can vaguely control the shards once they are created.

However, Kasey's manifestation of crystals is much simpler when it comes to just touching something. When touching an object for at least five seconds, Kasey can eject crystals from her fingers around it, allowing her to coat the object/thing in order to protect it. She can also do this to her own body with no sort of time limit. However, as time goes on, the coating becomes less and less hard, to the point where after a day, it's basically useless. She can only create about 300 ft^3 of crystal matter at once before she gets burnt out.

She will graduate once she has the ability to create crystals freely and has a "crystal mana pool" of 1000 ft^3 before she gets tired.

Disposition:
Kasey has a very peppy character. She's always moving; not just in the ADHD kind of way, but she's always got that feeling for getting something done. She isn't the kind to slack around or procrastinate; if she wants or needs something done, she gets it done as soon as she can... though there's also the issue of starting a project and actually being able to finish it, which is difficult for Kasey due to her rather short attention span.

Kasey believes, due to her life as an older sister, that the most important thing to show about yourself is how happy you can be when things get rough, which is why she's so optimistic all the time. Kasey constantly views things with a "glass half full" mindset, even when most people would consider her stances overly so, or even delusional. This wasn't just a trait that was created to keep her younger brother happy; it's part of how Kasey herself manages to keep herself together at times. The intense pressure she feels tends to hit her all at once in some points of her life, and her smiley attitude it what she uses to push it back... though it never leaves for good.

Despite her general happy vibes she gives off, Kasey isn't ditsy... or, she tries not to be. She's very motivated, and likes to start most of her plans with a clear goal that she works towards. No one has higher expectations for her than herself, and this adds to the overall pressure that she often feels when just trying to relax.

Speaking of relaxing, Kasey is extroverted, and gains energy from social interactions and generally spending time with lots of people. In a scenario where she's in a room with a bunch of people she doesn't know, it's likely that she'll be the first one to start a conversation based on the most arbitrary things, such as a small detail. Kasey is the kind of person to pay attention to small details in things or people, and she does a decent job at storing that information for later.

The one thing that upsets her the most is her own failure. As listed above, Kasey's standards for herself are basically to be perfect, and when she very clearly fails at that, she tends to blame herself for not being good enough. Kasey believes that hard work can turn any situation around; therefore, if she's excessively failing at something, it must be her fault, right? This kind of thinking is like a double-edged sword, as it manages to motivate Kasey, but she doesn't often feel accomplished when she finally succeeds, as she thinks she should've been able to do it just fine in the first place, and her succeeding is just her finally meeting the standard.

History:
Born to a recent widow, Kasey struggled a lot as a child. From her birth, Kasey wasn't treated with the normal amount of affection due to her mother's intense sadness and depression that left Kasey's mother feeling unmotivated to do anything after Kasey's father's death, and as a single mother, the Giadaqs didn't have a lot of money to go around, especially with funeral costs. With a "devil may cry" attitude, Kasey's mother fell into drinking heavily and generally acting irresponsibly, giving Kasey a younger half-brother, Kash Ginleod, 4 years after Kasey herself was born.

Surprise surprise, having a second kid didn't help the Giadaqs money problems... but Kasey's mother wasn't in a very ratioonal state of life, and she often lashed at at Kash for "ruining their lives," even when they were all practically babies. As this was normal for her, Kasey grew up knowing it was very obvious she was the favorite child... and she hated watching her younger brother suffer so much, even as a child. Because of this, Kasey desperately tried to make her unfortunate brother happy all the time as they grew up, despite all of their mother's abuse to him.

Kasey, despite her situation, desperately tried to make everything seem like it was okay, not only for her brother but also for her own sanity. At school, she got decent grades, generally in the B- to A range, and she had an active social life, though she couldn't hang out with her friends too much due to the fact that she had to take care of most of the chores in her house. Once, after a long day of "working at home" (which was mostly doing chores), Kasey passed out... and when she regained consciousness, awoken by Kash two hours later, there was a thick coating of crystals underneath her. This is how she learned about her ability, and soon enough, determined that she now had a path in life and could make her power profitable, she set out to go to Arthur Gray's.

Relationships:
Dakari Merlin (+):
TBA

Ann Dolby (+): When everyone began going to Arthur Gray's, the two of them had a class together, and Kasey's lack of a good attention span left her bored out of her mind. In her boredom, she saw Ann's several tattoos, and later asked her about the story behind several of them. Ann was more than happy to tell, but that wasn't all; the two of them realized they loved each other's company! They've been good friends ever since.

Romeski (+): Oddly enough, despite their completely different personalities, Romeski's one of Kasey's closer friends. Through a series of classes and interactions, they got to know each other, and they've got a pretty nice, friendly, dynamic that improves both of them. Kasey's semi-ditzy optimism leads to her floating away from reality in several cases, and Romeski helps her stay down-to-earth and focus a bit. On the flip side, Kasey gives Romeski more energy to try new things and enjoy himself.

Stacy Patterson (+): Like several of Kasey's other friends, these two's spunky, upbeat charm played off of each other super well when they first met, and they've found themselves being great gal pals ever since. They hang out what is basically all the time, and Kasey would consider her to be one of her closest friends.

Jack Parker (+=): Though this duo isn't together too often, they'll occasionally find each other, mostly due to them both being good friends with Stacy. Kasey doesn't know all too much about Jack, due to his more reserved nature compared to Stacy, the two of them still manage to carry a friendly relationship.

Akiko Akiyama (+=): Akiko, for the most part, dislikes overly social people, and Kasey is no exception. The girl is constantly bouncing off the walls with no purpose, and she spends a lot of her time socializing... which ended up in an attempt of Kasey's to try and befriend Akiko when they were entering Arthur Gray's. Kasey was often unable to read social cues of Akiko's that showed a lack of interest in friendship, which resulted in a bit of a one-sided relationship. However, Kasey's oblivious persistence has somehow worn Akiko down to the point where they are somewhat friends now.... even if Akiko still looks annoyed by Kasey on the outside half the time.

Samantha Gill (=): Throughout the years, the two girls have had lots of academic classes together, and strangely enough, Kasey doesn't go out of her way to socialize with Samantha like she would most people... just because she's that impressed by her! In Kasey's eyes, Samantha is the perfect uber-genius, and Kasey finds herself admiring Samantha, whether it be her vigorous, focused work ethic, and her consistent participation in class.

Kylie Heidrich (-): One of the people Kasey does not like, and for good reason. Kasey normally likes people who are on the... smarter and stricter side, but Kylie presents everything Kasey does not want to be. Her bluntness exceeds over to the point of rudeness, and because of this, Kasey is much more critical of Kylie's behavior than she would of, say, Samantha or Vanessa. This has led to a rather one-sided rivalry, and whenever Kasey feels like Kylie's flat-out being a bitch, she's always quick to intervene.

Name: Walter Heath. Goes by Walt or Heathcliff.

Age: 22

Gender: Male

Appearance: Due to Walter’s power, his appearance is variable. Though he often defaults his original face, though a bit leaner and more defined then he used to be. A few minor cosmetic changes to make himself more conventionally attractive. He often says he is the best version of himself. Referring to the fact he used his powers to get rid of all the things in himself he saw as faults.
At 6’2, and with a fighter’s physique, he is quite a striking figure. Further emphasised by the rose lens aviators he wears nearly all the time.

Power Grade: A

Power Category: Biology

Power: Biomechamorphation.
Walter is made up of self-evolving nucleotech which he can communicate with to manipulate his body.
This enables the metamorphosis of self into most any kind of physiological derived apparatus (domiciles, equipment, weaponry, companionship, etc), rebuild and/or outright reformat himself, generate new bodily functions and superhuman skills/abilities, modify his own person with repetitive experiential stimulation, commandeer most other forms of matter/energy on top of imprinting his unique conditional traits onto unthinking elements or other living beings creating a vast hive collective network used to broaden personal or collective reach and possible usage.
At least in theory. At current, Walter has abilities similar to Alex Mercer from the prototype series, or Venom from Marvel Comics.
With the sheer versatility and potential of this power, Walter has two vulnerabilities. The first is fire. Walter was in a house fire when he was a child and burned over fifty percent of his body. As such, he has a psychosomatic fear of flame. To the point where flame should no longer harm him, but when attacked with fire he loses cohesion with his cells, and they start acting like a super cancer, rendering him defenceless. He is currently in therapy to try and get rid of this psychosomatic fear.
The second big weakness is magnets. Big magnets. Turns out the nucleotech that makes up his cells is more metallic than normal human cells. Large magnets can disorientate his cells causing his powers to fail, and sufficiently large magnets could in theory pull the cells from his body.

Disposition: Walter never really wanted to go to Arthur Gray academy. A bit of a trouble maker, Walt often fails to see the real seriousness in a given situation. Much to the faculty’s despair, Walt would describe himself as a borderline alcoholic. Often turning up to classes with a flask or a beer. He is often the mastermind behind the big parties in the 22+ dorm, and often helps the 18-21 dorm goers to get into his parties.

History: Born to wealthy parents, he had a privileged up bringing. His parents were actually the founders of one of the larger tech companies. Earning ridiculous amounts of money. It would have been a great upbringing had the family estate not burned down. With dead parents, he was placed into foster care. Their will was very clear that the money he placed in a trust fund that he could only access after he was eighteen. So, he went to a public high school. Turned rebellious.
When he graduated, he took a gap year. Traveled the world, using his inheritance to experience new things. Broke a few laws but got away with it.
Coming back into America he had a doctors appointment to deal with what he suspected to be some tropical disease he picked up in Bali, but was diagnosed with Cancer.
In hospital many scans were done, until they found the Courser Gene. A bit more research and they found he didn’t actually have cancer, but his cells were changing. Basically threatened by Police, he did what he had to, and enrolled at Arthur Gray.

Name: Cain "Plain Cain" Hughes

Age: 20

Gender: Male

Appearance:

638bfbb1be0585cfbdcb1943f4f92517--manga-boy-manga-anime.jpg

ad698f3ac5af2d2c6f881aeeafc64c30.jpg

Cain is a lean young man with messy brown hair that reaches past his ears, light tanned skin, and brown eyes. He stands at about 5'6". His usual style can be considered "comfy and messy", as he usually wears things he just finds comfortable and doesn't put too much effort into how he looks otherwise. That being said he can almost always be found with a hoodie on him or tied around his waist, and if he has to dress up for anything, can usually be seen in a plaid button up shirt that's more likely a size too big for him with a pair of dark jeans and laceless sneakers.

Power Grade: B

Power Category: Energy

Power:
Astral Projection: While being in a semi-conscious or unconscious state, or nowadays with concentration, Cain can leave his physical body and project his soul. His soul can go through walls to get through connected rooms or most solid objects and if he has a strong connection with someone his soul can pinpoint their location and he can appear where they are so he can relay a message to them through his projection if he is physically unable to reach them. If his body suffers any damage while he's projecting whether conscious or not, or if his concentration is broken, his soul will flicker out and he'd return to his body in a matter of seconds.

"Wall Walking": Cain can make parts of, or even his whole, body intangible to pass through objects like walls. He calls it "phasing/ghosting" and "wall walking" interchangeably. When he activates this power, his eyes become red, actively having to concentrate on which part of his body he wants to phase in or out before he passes it through an object. If his concentration is broken mid-phase could lead to comical or dangerous results.

Disposition:
Cain has always described himself as a "background character" when among other people. Seeing himself as someone who might be hard to spot even if he spoke out. Then again, he doesn't go out of his way to be spotted or picked out in a crowd more often than not. He prefers instead to people watch, see how they interact and see what kind of person they might be, on most days or would otherwise spend more time inside where he can sleep or laze about.

When it comes to school, Cain isn't the best with subjects like math. In fact, if a subject doesn't interest him he'll likely not put much effort into the class in question. At the very least, he'll try to at least pass said class with a C+ at best. His averages are usually C's or B's when it comes to regular classes, really. When it comes to his training, he figured if he were out in the field he'd be best suited for rescuing operations by pinpointing someone's location. Unless they had someone better suited.

History:
Cain is the oldest of two, and once his little brother Abel was born it was like he had temporarily been forgotten. It didn't last long, but growing up he always noticed that Abel had a way with people that he did not. Despite being two years older, he came to realize that his best friend just happened to be Abel, and found it kind of sad that for a time Abel was his only friend.

He was almost jealous of how easily Abel could make friends, until around the age of 9 he made his first friend in class, quickly followed by three more. It all started with a drawing of a superhero, one he did himself with his limited skill, that caught the attention of the boy sitting next to him. Like that they clicked, talking and quickly befriending each other, before he was integrated into the boy's friend group. One of his friends coined the nickname "Plain Cain" teasingly in class and it's stuck ever since.

A year later when him and his friends were fresh out of elementary and on summer break, excited for middle school and being a little closer to being grown ups, it was on one weekend at his friend's house for a sleepover when he first projected. He thought it was a weird dream, being able to walk around and go through walls outside of his body. As such, he thought something along the lines of "It'd be cool to do this with my body". Sometime after turning 11, after some minor and petty argument with his brother, he triggered his second ability, and ended up in the next room without so much as using a door. As such, he found himself being transferred to Aurther Gray's that following school year.

Relationships:

Maia Drake- While not friends just yet, he has no problem being in her company, and honestly enjoys it from time to time. He doesn't quite get why she's interested in being friends though, but he's not complaining.

AJ Garcia- Because Maia hangs out with him almost all the time, Cain knows him by association mostly. He'd have no problem holding a conversation with him, if it was brief. That's more so on Cain's part however.

Other Details:
He's still working on his Astral Projection.

Name: Dakari Merlin
Age: 19
Gender: Male

Appearance:

4da564a4282e9cacdd930bd1dad37785--ensemble-stars-undead-ensemble-stars-kaoru.jpg

Dakari is a young man of lean slightly muscled build that stands at roughly 5'7" with messy blonde hair that stops at his shoulders. He's almost always seen in his signature fur lined jacket when not dressed up for some occasion. A couple graphic band t-shirts and sweaters are his go to outside of plain shirts and jeans.

Power Grade: A

Power Category: Energy

Power:
Sound Manipulation/Echokinesis: Dakari can create, and shape sound to use it as an offensive force by creating sound waves from his mouth, hands, or an instrument he has some knowledge of using, and can fire multiple small sound waves if he keeps his concentration and isn't suddenly interrupted. His sound waves can only go in one direction at a time, so when using this ability it leaves his peripheral and back open or could potentially get him stuck in a corner until help arrives.

Sonic Amplification: can increase the strength and duration of whatever sound he makes, though he needs to actively concentrate to do so and has only been able to do so with an instrument. Another factor is his emotional state. If upset or sad it effects how he plays and his focus and concentration on both playing the instrument and strengthening the duration of the sounds he's emitting. His emotional state also effects his Echokinesis. This ability is the one he struggles with the most.

Sonic Boom/Sonic Clap: Can create sonic booms by clapping his hands together or when his fists come into contact with an object that has enough force to push the targets back at least 3 feet. The sound waves are pushed out around him like an explosion of force in an act of offense. The strength behind one of these booms and the force of it are dependant on the situation Dakari finds himself in. If sparring, he's less likely to focus on how much pushback to put into it out of worry of hurting his sparring partner.

Disposition:
A kind hearted, if slightly slow individual. Dakari is friendly with most and is easy to get along with, as he tries to be nice to others even if they have more unappealing attitudes and personalities. He's always been told to "treat others how you want to be treated, but don't let them walk all over you.", Which he tries to apply for everyone in and out of his life. However, he's very protective of his friends and can't stand bullying. If talking something out won't work, he's willing to use his fists if need be despite not being the most skilled fighter there is.

When it comes to regular classes, he does his best in them, but he struggles with subjects such as history and math and claims to be a bit of a moron with those subjects. If he wanted to learn boring stuff about dead people he might as well just go to the internet, right? Usually when it comes to subjects he struggles with, he's more likely willing to ask for help from friends when it comes to studying for tests and such. When it comes to training he gives his all so he can master them enough so he doesn't accidentally hurt anyone again, but that's about it.

History:
Dakari was the only child to a single parent who, for a time, ran a nursery. Eventually his father found another job as an elementary school teacher, causing the two to move to a sleepy little Michigan town where Dakari quickly made friends once he started school, due to his rather friendly personality. Picking up an interest in music by the time he graduated elementary and was just starting middle school, he met with and befriended a boy named Jasper Blackwell and his cousin Kaede. The three hung out quite often, sharing their tastes in music and the like and even talked about starting their own band one day.

And then he and Jasper got into a fight with a kid who was picking on Kaede once they started high school, which triggered his powers into manifesting after punching the much bigger boy as hard as he could and creating a small sonic boom in the process. After talks between the school and his father, and much finger pointing and apologizing, Aurther Gray's was suggested. So, they moved from their sleepy town to Seattle that summer.

Relationships:

Kassandra "Kasey" Giadaq-TBA

Other Details:
His hero codename would likely be Sonic Wave.

Wanted to be in a band with his old friends, but as you can see that never happened. He not too upset over it, though, and just hopes if they do make the band that they make it big and have fun.

Name: Jack Parker

Age: 20

Gender: Male

Appearance: Jack stands at 6'0'', and has a sturdy and muscular body. He has a heavy body shape, with thick bones giving him a more sturdy shape. He has ivory skin, and short, dark brown hair. His eyes are dark brown, and he has green eyes. He tends to wear comfortable clothes: T-shirts, jeans, jackets, etc. He favors red, white, blue and black in his clothes, as those are his favorite colors to wear.

Power Grade: A

Power Category: Physical

Power:

Jack has an extremely dense and sturdy body structure. His bones are much stronger and heavier than regular bones, and his muscles are also a lot stronger. This allows him to have superhuman strength, and his strong muscles also allow him to run very fast, despite his weight. His power could be mostly defined as being a tank, as his strong body is capable of taking very strong blows without suffering too much damage. physical attacks or hits that could break a regular person's bones will do much less damage to Jack due to his body structure.

His unique body structure also causes him to be a lot heavier than a regular person, enough that simply tossing himself onto an opponent can deal about the same damage as if 3 or 4 regular humans did the same. His strong muscles let him run fast despite his weight, but it's not fast enough to be considered super speed itself, since while he can move faster than someone who doesn't have any physical powers, he's still not nearly as fast as someone who has super speed as a main abilitiy.

The most obvious abilities his power gives him are endurance, as he can shrug off physical attacks much easier than most can, and super strength, as he is capable of lifting things much larger than himself, and with a punch or kick is capable of breaking through stone.

The main weakness is that while his ability makes him a tank when it comes to physical attacks, he doesn't fare too well against energy-type attacks. So while he can easily survive being run over by a car, he's just as vulnerable to ice and electricity as any other person is.

His body structure is also unique in that it burns many more calories per hour than a regular person's body would, so to mantain his body in optimal conditions he needs to eat much more food than the average person would. On average he tends to consume roughly 9,000-10,000 calories per day to keep his body running at full capacity. If he eats less than that, then his body will begin to weaken, to the point where keeping a 2,000 calorie diet would cause his body to become as fragile as a regular person's body. However, even if this happens, he can revert back to normal by returning to his 10,000 calorie diet.

Disposition: Jack is best described as an outgoing and confident individual who doesn't get easily embarassed or worried about things. He's a guy of strong moral values as well. Honest and loyal as can be, Jack is a guy that has a strong moral compass that leads him to do what he believes is right, no matter the situation or context. He's also very friendly and supportive, and willing to help a friend in need whenever he can. He's most noticeable for his optimistic and confident personality, and for being an individual with strong convictions who will never give up in the face of adversity. His confidence and strong convictions, along with his willingness to help others and make friends make him have a positive influence on those around him.

However, his confidence can sometimes prove to be too much, as he sometimes overestimates his own abilities and gets himself in situations he can't solve on his own. He sometimes has trouble recognizing when he needs help, and usually tries to solve his problems on his own. His pride can sometimes lead him to try to do things by himself. He's usually a person who will act upon what he believes is the right thing immediately, and his fast-decision making can sometimes lead him to do things before he can see the whole picture.

Academically, Jack is pretty well-rounded, excelling in most subjects that are taught, but his favorite activities are those that require physical activity, such as hero training and sports. He loves any activity where he can break loose and use his strength and speed for different things. He's also a guy with a huge appetite, as his body strength depends on his diet heavily. His favorite foods are italian foods like spaghetti and lasagna, and mexican foods like tacos and burritos. He loves spicy foods and cheese.

History: Jack grew up in a more rural area out of town. His parents own a farm out in the countryside, and from a young age Jack helped them on the farm. As a child Jack was already a big eater, something that at first his parents didn't think much about, as they reasoned that working hard on the farm would open a big appetite. However, his appetite grew as he become older, and by the time Jack was 10 years old he would already eat more food himself than his two parents combined. His parents also noticed how strong he had grown, and began to wonder what this could all be about.

It wasn't until Jack was around the age of 14 when his family learned that this was all due to his powers. After this, his parents decided it would be best to send him to this academy in order for him to learn how to use his powers. Jack arrived at the academy when he was 14, and so far he has been here for 6 years, learning everything about how to use his powers correctly. At first he had trouble controlling his strength, and even when writing, he would break the pencil due to grasping it too strongly. However, overtime he learned to use his powers in different ways, and has progressed a lot. Over the course of the years he has met several other students and made friends, but he's always sticked to the morals and principles his parents taught him.

Relationships:

-Stacy Patterson:
The two of them met six years ago, when the two of them were new at the academy. Jack really didn't know many people, and was trying to make friends, and Stacy was energetic and bubbly as ever, so the two started talking and became friends. Over the years they've grown to be like siblings. They both share an open and fun-loving personality.

-Kassandra Giadaq: While they don't hang out too often, they've known each other for a few years after Stacy introduced the two of them to each other once. Overall they get along pretty well, and consider each other to be good friends.

-Tommy King: The two know each other and spend time together as both of them are part of the academy's sport team. However, Jack has to admit he doesn't know much about Tommy, as the guy isn't someone who likes to open up to people. Jack does his best to show that he's a supportive friend, but only time will tell whether Tommy will some day open up more about himself.

-AJ Garcia: Much like Tommy, Jack and AJ know each other through their common sports teams- though they don't see each other often outside of this.

(More to be added after OOC chat)

Other Details: His body weight meant that he had to be given a special bed that was strong enough to stand his weight. The first night he was given a regular bed to sleep in, and the bed broke under his weight.

Name: Stacy Patterson

Age: 18

Gender: Female

Appearance: Standing at 5'5'', she has an average body shape. She has wavy light brown hair that reaches about shoulder length, and she has blue eyes. She uses comfortable clothing such as t-shirts, jeans or skirts, and rarely ever uses high-heels, even for formal events.

Power Grade: B

Power Category: Physical

Power:

Stacy's power involves the pace at which her body functions. She perceives everything as if it were moving in slow-motion, because her own body is so accelerated all the time. This, logically, means that she has super speed. In some occasions she moves so fast that it looks as if she were teleporting from one place to another, but in reality she just moves that fast. While her power doesn't actually slow down time, it makes her feel as if everything were in slow motion, and thus gives her unmatched reflexes and reaction times.

Her hyper-acceleration gets even worse when she consumes too much sugar, to the point where a sugar rush can make her lose control and become hyperactive at dizzying speeds. Her hyper-accelerated body isn't something she can just turn off though, or at least it's not something she's learned to do yet. The only time her body switches out of this hyper-accelerated state is when she falls asleep.

Disposition: Energetic and bubbly, Stacy is known for being talkative and energetic. She's rather fidgety, and cannot stay still, so even when she's sitting down she'll generally fidget around or shake her leg. When bored she will pace around. Due to perceiving everything as if it were moving in slow-motion, she struggles a lot when waiting for something, as what feels like waiting for ten or fifteen minutes for someone else can feel like waiting for over an hour for her.

Stacy is rather talkative, and loves to make friends and talk to them. She's very energetic and loves to laugh with friends. She mostly loves to make them smile and laugh along with her, as she feels that there's nothing better than having a great time with a good friend.

Despite the fact that eating too much sugar can lead her to an amplified sugar rush, she has a great sweet tooth and loves everything sweet, from chocolates, to candies, to cakes, to ice cream, and soda. Sometimes she can be a bit childish or immature at times, but overall she's a friend who will always try to cheer up those around her.

She's generally upbeat and cheerful most of the time, but when she gets sad, she gets sad big time. The other half of her personality comes to surface when she becomes depressed, as all the positive and optimistic energy she has gets turned on its head as she becomes depressed, apathetic and gloomy. She loses her cheerful shine and energetic vibe, and becomes apathetic, and depressed. When in this state she can even become a bit crazy, as she begins to have hallucinations and talks to objects or imaginary entities. While she rarely ever does anything to hurt someone while in this state, and she reaches this state very rarely, the few people that have seen her in her depressed and crazy state agree that she becomes very creepy and disturbing when she's like this.

Fortunately, she only gets like that when she hits rock bottom and becomes depressed, such as when she thinks that no one likes her or if she feels like she's made a terrible mistake that won't be forgiven. Her upbeat and energetic personality definitely is the more predominant side of her though, and it's only on rare occasions that she becomes depressed.

History: Stacy grew up in a small town with her parents and her siblings. She is the third of four siblings. Ever since she was a child she had been hyperactive and unable to stay still, which her parents at first didn't think much of as she was a child. However, growing up her hyperactive behavior just got worse and worse, to the point where she would constantly be making a mess around her.

It was around when she was 11 that she first learned that she could move around at super speed, which just got her parents a bit more worried. They decided to go to a specialist, who only helped confirm that Stacy has a unique power that makes her perceive the world in slow-motion, and that's why she moves so fast and is so hyperactive. Her body moves at a faster pace than the rest of the world. He recommended her parents to send her to the academy to help her learn to control her powers, which the did.

Stacy had turned 12 just a few days before being sent to the academy. At first she had an E in control of her powers. She was too hyperactive, didn't pay attention, and made a mess wherever she went. It took two years for her to even reach a D grade. From there she started to improve a bit more quickly though. At 14 she had reached D grade, but then at 16 she reached C grade, and a few days before her 18th birthday she reached a B grade. Now she's trying her hardest so she can obtain an A grade this year, and while she's had to struggle a lot with keeping her hyperactive nature under control, she's made a lot of progress, and is now a much more balanced and behaved person than she was when she started out.

Relationships:

-Jack Parker:
The two of them met six years ago, when the two of them were new at the academy. Jack really didn't know many people, and was trying to make friends, and Stacy was energetic and bubbly as ever, so the two started talking and became friends. Over the years they've grown to be like siblings. They both share an open and fun-loving personality.

-Kassandra Giadaq: Both girls have been friends for year. Both are extroverted, cheerful and optimistic, and since they share a few mutual classes, they quickly became friends and started hanging out all the time.

-Maia Drake: Stacy and Maia have similar demeanors and when they are in common areas get along extremely well

-Samantha Gill: Stacy and Samantha are very good friends with each other, as their personalities go very well together, and they enjoy each other's company. Stacy is one of the students that works with Samantha in her podcast. Her bubbly, cheerful and silly personality gives a very energetic vibe to the podcast.

(More to be added after OOC chat)

Other Details: She sleepwalks at times, and she sometimes eats sweets while she's sleepwalking, which can lead to her getting a sugar rush while asleep. This can be specially problematic as she begins to move at super speed while asleep, thus having even less control than when she's awake.

Character Sheet

Name:
Victor Elroy

Age: 20

Gender: Male

Appearance: Victor possesses a body of an average build and a pale white complexion that appears smooth on areas that aren't heavily scarred. His true hair color is not known, but it is widely agreed that his eyes are red. He prefers wearing a formal suit, covered by a long coat, and hiding a layer of bulletproof armor as partial protection from his own powers. He also wears a personalized and reinforced pilot helmet not only to protect his head from his own abilities but to hide some of the scars previously caused by them during training.

Power Grade: B

Power Category: Reality

Power:
+ Deterministic Chaos Affinity - This power gives Victor the ability to channel the concept of deterministic chaos on himself and any object he touches (including anything inside them) to gain various properties that enable him to have an edge in combat.

+ Butterfly Effect - Victor weaponizes the butterfly effect on an object he has direct skin contact with or into a part of himself to a highly localized but more instantaneous extent (ex. blades, bullets, and punches using the air directly surrounding them as an extension of themselves due to the effect being applied to the air itself; bullets ricocheting off any hard surface at seemingly random angles due to the effect affecting the bullets trajectory and transfer/retaining of kinetic energy). For objects, this alteration of properties only occurs as long as he is in direct skin contact or being part of an object in direct skin contact (ex. loaded ammunition), instantly losing effect after 5 seconds of non-contact, while any properties applied directly onto himself can be deactivated whenever he wants to. (Do note that overuse/misuse of this technique on himself can be fatal to his health).

+ Localized Destabilization - Victor causes an object in his hands to gradually destabilize in molecular or energy levels, inducing effects including but not limited to temperature change, physical property alteration, and even the outright disintegration of the object in question. He can only properly use this technique on objects that he can hold and is still learning on how to properly apply it to objects without needing to hold them (and with as little error as possible). This technique can also be used to alter the property of energy-based weaponry (ex. Giving tasers longer reach and altering the firing trajectory of laser weapons.)

He plans to learn more techniques while improving any currently known techniques.

While his ability is constantly at an 'on' state all the time and cannot be completely 'turned off' at will (though it can be toned down instead), Victor can completely suppress it by wearing gloves and attire that covers up as much skin as possible; and despite its offensive versatility, it demands precision and concentration for him to cause the proper outcomes. A significant error may lead it to backfire in a way that can lead to serious injury on himself and his own allies and/or induce collateral damage.

Disposition: An intelligent and introverted student who does his best to perform greatly in school, specializing in academic knowledge related to maths and sciences, though he does participate in certain sports. He lives life with a semi-analytical approach, taking care to understand the things around him before moving, though he tends to become closer to fully analytical in times of conflict/danger. While he often tends to isolate himself from others, he does not mind conversing with those who approach him and is willing to befriend those who share similar interests with him.

He holds a degree of pragmatism and would not hesitate to take risks and cross boundaries to get his job done if it is the only viable choice he has and/or when he sees that giving up causes disadvantage. He is also motivated by the idea of 'making the best of oneself'. While he usually appears to be a cold and eccentric person, he is willing to lend a hand to those who need his help (assuming that he does not see them as suspicious). He possesses a friendlier and more humorous side, though this side of him is only more visible to those he has an emotional attachment to, having a soft spot for his parents and family friends.

He has an interest in technology, weaponry, and cats, and he also likes to play video games in his spare time. He holds a high opinion towards Coursers, believing that they should serve as an integral part of society.

History: Victor is the first and only child of a retired and reformed hitman (father) and a Courser (mother) who he met when he was protecting her, and several other Coursers from hate crimes. He was raised with compassion while being given enough freedom to enjoy life, eventually developing the dream to follow the path of either of his parents. When he was still a child, he would often play together with his father with toy weapons and listen to his mother's stories about her life as a Courser. Life was pretty normal for him until his teenage days, where his power decided that it is the right time to surface when he accidentally broke a part of his house's wall...

Surprisingly, it was relatively normal compared to many other Coursers. His parents were not surprised about this. In fact, they were expecting this and were at their gladdest in this discovery, with only him being more excited than them. They followed the usual protocol and have him registered as a Courser and have him examined to determine the power he may have, hoping that they may help him gain control over his powers in advance. Unfortunately, it is discovered to be the ability to weaponize a force without order, thus they have no idea how he would ever gain control over this on his own, thus he and his parents agreed to have him enrolled in Arthur Gray's.

Despite the challenges the original nature of the power had provided, seven years of education in Arthur Gray's had greatly helped him, primarily by giving him a deeper understanding of his powers and molding him into who he currently is. Despite the great contrast between his past and current self, his love for his parents and his dream to follow one of their paths remains completely untouched.

Relationships: [TBA. If you want to have any relationships with this character pre-established, feel free to PM me!]

Other Details:
  • He is still unsure of what codename he should use.
  • Despite having a Power Control grade of B, he is set to graduate because of having enough mastery over his own power.
  • He claims to have weaker respiration whenever he takes off his helmet. It is yet to be determined whether this is due to a disorder or a side effect of his powers.
  • Continuous training with his abilities gave him enhanced mental capabilities, allowing him to have faster reaction time and spatial awareness, the ability to perform calculations in the middle of actions, and enhanced analysis and prediction abilities along with a few others. He also tried to develop his own fighting style to back it up.
  • Despite its apparently dangerous nature might say otherwise, he is seen using his powers for more casual reasons, like using it to fully comb a pet's hair in a single motion and forcing a switch to rapidly turn itself on and off continuously for five straight seconds just to spite someone.
  • On the other hand, small accidents and minor inconveniences have also occurred in the past due to him being unable/forgetting to wear his gloves. The wall in his dorm had to be repaired once due to a gloveless bout of frustration-induced gamer rage.
  • Deterministic chaos is NOT related to primordial chaos.
  • Information is subject to change

Name:
AJ Garcia

Age: 23

Gender:

Male

Power Grade:
C

Power Category:
Energy

Power:

Electrokinesis/Electricity Manipulation: AJ has the ability to produce electric energy from his hands, taking form in a yellowish glow with bolts sporadically admitting from it. His power grade has diminished by his lack of control over it if he has intense emotions. Once he loses control, the energy comes out of his entire body and is much more powerful- and much more dangerous.

Disposition:

AJ is a generally introverted young man and is an average student despite his tendency to space out during most lectures. He excels at math, as well as hand-to-hand combat. He competes in some of the school's sports but isn't as bothered as a majority of his teammates.

Despite his carefree demeanor- AJ has gotten in trouble multiple times at Arthur Gray due to defacing of property. This stemming from his hobby of graffiti, he's often tagged walls of dorms and the outside bricks of the academy itself. He also has been caught carving his art into desks.

Around campus, AJ is usually spotted with his headphones in, or alternatively with classmates killing time. In the dorms he's gotten noise complaints due to him playing drums, scratching on his turntables, or shredding on his guitar.

History:

AJ grew up in Agoura Hills, California. He had a rather normal upbringing with his single mother. He took interest in music and technology at an early age, leading him to his musical interests. Being an only child he was often alone, which he didn't mind and adapted to well.

At age 19 he started working at a local music shop as well as starting a band with some local friends, AJ being on turntables. Around this time is when his power manifested. During band practice, the group engaged in an argument- causing AJ to huff and ignore the others, going to scratch on his records to blow off steam. As his hand created the friction energy shot out of it and short-circuited the entire building, as well as blowing up the transformer outside- leaving the block without power for hours.

After that incident, the band left him upon learning he was a Courser- to which he tried to just ignore, repressing his powers before meeting another Courser named Maia at his store. The two became close friends over time and both enrolled in the academy together, and have attended for the last 3 years.

Relationships:

Maia Drake - Maia has been one of AJ's closest friends for years, her being one of the reasons he began attending the academy. Though seemingly opposites due to Maia's hyperactive nature contrasting AJ's laxness, they compliment each other well. The two met at his job when she came in looking for obscure goth music, and they talked until close. Then they learned of each other's abilities, Maia convincing him to attend an academy to better control their powers.

She often hangs off of AJ, being a very touchy person- often leading to others thinking they're romantic (they're not lol).

Roman "Romeski" Yedemsky - Roman is one of AJ's classmates, the two became friends over time- in part to their relaxed nature as well as some of their offbeat hobbies. He often encourages AJ and vice versa- though Romeski knows how to push his buttons for his own amusement. The two are often hanging together outside of class.

They also are very chaotic together, between Roman encouraging AJ to throw knives at him as a game, as well as other mischief they get into.

Tommy King - AJ knows Tommy through their common sports teams as well as classes they're in together. They get along despite Tommy's cockiness and performative nature. They don't often spend time together outside of class besides the occasional bar trip.

Jack Parker - Much like Tommy, Jack and AJ know each other through their common sports teams- though they don't see each other often outside of this.

Ann Dolby - AJ knows Ann through Maia and Rashida, the two mostly speaking as the other women study or do other activities.

(More to be added as more signups and OOC talk occur.)

Other Info:

His possible codename is 'High Voltage'. He also really likes Gundams.

Name: Maia Drake

Age: 22

Gender:

Female

Power Grade:
A

Power Category:
Healing

Power:

Healing/Healing Bite: Maia has the unique ability to heal people by biting them- as long as she can break the skin. It's an incredibly useful skill, though she can't use this on herself. She has a very strong control of it and can heal someone from near death almost completely.

Disposition:

Maia is an energetic gothic young woman. She's a great student with high grades, despite her attention span being short. She tends not to study, due to wanting to just do other things- this being one of her academic flaws.

She enjoys fashion and often wears outlandish things to class, to which people often speak about her in an unkind manner; to which she rarely notices- more due to oblivion than confidence. She also paints in her free time.

Despite her social excel, she only has a few friends. Due to her being a healer and therefore a 'support' Courser, she has gotten good at martial arts to hold her own against potential enemies.

History:

Maia was born and raised in Portland, Oregan before moving to Agoura Hills, California as a teen. She had a rough upbringing with a neglectful only father, she became troubled and often got into fights. She had very low self-esteem and isolation.

As she grew up she became more social and expressed herself through her art, but still struggled to maintain friendships. At age 16 during one of her fights, caused by someone attempting to mug her- during their struggle, they both had been wounded. As things got more intense Maia bit the man in an attempt for him to release her- to her shock it healed his wounds completely. After some testing, she realized she was a Courser prompting her to improve herself for the betterment of others.

She met AJ years later and the two became very good friends, her later convincing him to enroll in an academy with her.

Relationships:

AJ Garcia - Maia struggled to make friends, but in the case of AJ it came naturally. The two became close over time finding solace in each other. She often clings to him, to which he's unbothered by.

Roman "Romeski" Yedemsky - Roman is a mutual classmate of Maia and AJ, the latter good friends with him- causing Maia to see him a lot. They're often together because of AJ and her closeness, a nice guy who makes her laugh. Though it feels as if he mostly tolerates her at time due to her intensity. The two work well in training, their abilities meshing well.

Samantha Gill - Sam is a good friend of Maia's due to their similar demeanors and academic placements. The two often talking in the hallways between classes. Maia admires the woman's ethics and values. She hopes to grow closer as friends as time goes on.

Cain Hughes - A fellow classmate, Cain seems reserved- to which Maia has taken interest in and has made an effort to be his friend thus far.

Rashida Jones - Rashida is one of Maia's esteemed classmates, the two grew close after Rashida offered to tutor Maia- one of the reasons Maia became an above-average student. Due to their extra time together Maia has possible feelings blooming for her.

Stacy Patterson - Stacy and Maia have similar demeanors and when they are in common areas get along extremely well

Walter Heath - Walt and Maia once had a fling a few years ago, but mostly see each other at parties and bars- still friends on good terms.

(More to be added as more signups and OOC talk occur.)

Other Info:

Maia has not chosen a codename yet.

Vanessa Laurent

~Age~

Female

~Power Grade~
A

~Power Category~
Shape

~Power~
Air Manipulation/Aerokinesis: Vanessa is able to control the movement of air, better understood as wind, around her, meaning she uses the air that already exists in her general vicinity. It can be augmented into her fighting style, such as punches that create an incoming rushing gust with focused air pressure on one designated target or kicks that start a wide sweeping gale along the floor. She can also propel herself and others in the air temporarily with her usage of winds. The only issue she runs into when using her aerokinesis is quite literally leaving herself and others "breathless" so to speak, and this is due to manipulating the air currents in ways that leave herself out of breath. A temporary workaround for herself to use her power without taking the air out of her lungs involuntarily is to hold her breath and use her wind currents sparingly, the latter part she is wholefully fine with.

~Disposition~
Vanessa is your textbook example of a know-it-all with a strict code to rules and etiquette. There's never a moment during the day where she takes the first opportunity to correct someone, or to put someone on blast for breaking a rule. As such, she has little to no grip on socializing with her classmates, either from intimidating others from the get-go or never wanting to distance herself from her constant study grind. This trait of hers tends to antagonize others, which feeds into her habit of being the self-proclaimed disciplinary. According to her younger sister who also attends this school with her, Vanessa only wishes the best for everyone to graduate with little to no problems, even if her way of helping is rather aggressive and naggy.

~History~
Being the first in her family to develop a power at the age of 18, Vanessa took that with a great sense of responsibility, considering worldwide changes relating to Coursers. By the time she was enrolled as a student to train her control over her newfound power, she was noted during her first year attending to be constantly studying everything that was in her grasp.

~Relationships~
Natalie Laurent - Her younger sister. Vanessa happens to personally tutor her constantly, often annoyed with how nonchalant and playful the other acts all the time.

~Power Category~
Reality

~Power~
Object Size Manipulation: Natalie can manipulate the size of non-living and inanimate objects, making them bigger or smaller upon physical contact. Her limits range from making an object bigger by triple her height (which is 5'4") to making an object smaller to at least the length of her hand from fingertip to wrist. The special clause to the size reduction limit is an object smaller than her hand, like a set of dice, from which it cannot be any smaller than it is and can only be enlarged by her power. Another special cause regarding the size enlargement limit is that she can only at most making an object double her height any bigger. The modifications to an object's size is not permanent, which can be undone at will or otherwise it gradually returns to its original size over time. Furthermore, she cannot have too many simultaneous objects having their size modified by her power or else she would become fatigued and close to fainting, her limit on how many at a time going to at most four different objects. She tends to slightly change the size of objects she touches by accident when terribly stressed.

~Disposition~
Natalie is well-known to be extremely easygoing, and it's a rarity for her to ever be in a disagreement with anybody. With her light-hearted nature, however, she tends to be overly optimistic and has a hard time seeing things in a more serious manner. When she does grasp any seriousness in a situation (after being nudged by her older sister), Natalie starts to stress out and shy away in response.

~History~
A year after her older sister, Vanessa, develops her own power, Natalie soon follows suit with hers at age 16. It was a no-brainer that she needed to be enrolled at the same school as Vanessa to learn how to control her power, considering that the first few days after obtaining such a power resulted with various household furniture and appliances being modified in size at random.

~Relationships~
Vanessa Laurent - Her older sister. She tries to break past Vanessa's strict personality with playful pranks, and even when they fail most of the time, she's glad to know that Vanessa isn't as ice cold as many would believe her to be.

Name: Melody Luna (Mel ONLY to her brother)

Age: 21

Gender: Female

Power Grade: B

Power Category: Biology

Power: Melody's powers drain energy through touch, causing whoever she had come into contact with to become exhausted or even unconscious. The strength of the draining depends on Melody's own emotional state at the time, as the more strongly she is feeling in any type of way, the more draining her target experiences. This only works if she touches another person or creature's skin with her hands, and she's found that gloves on her person or clothing on theirs negate the draining. As of right now it seems that there is nothing more to her powers than this.

Disposition: Melody keeps to herself more than anything else, even before having awakened her power. She really feels no particular way about Coursers she doesn't know, as it's never been a big deal to her as she'd been focused on getting into art school. She holds a bit of resentment towards herself for being a Courser though, especially since her power only seems to be good for harming others and lacks any beneficial aspects like her brother's healing ability. Her grades at least are excellent, as she wishes to prove to herself and others that she's more than this power of hers. But her absolute favorite thing in the world is art, specifically watercolor painting.

History: Melody is the oldest twin, living with her parents and brother Benny in San Fransisco. She was known to be a bit of a troublemaker in school due to protecting her little brother from bullies, but otherwise was fairly popular at school. One day in her sophomore year, however, everything changed. Benny awakened his powers, and Melody knew that meant she'd be likely to have some, as well. Upset that this could ruin her dream of becoming a professional painter, her attitude worsened until one day, a fight with her father led her to shove him, awakening her power and knocking him out cold. This created a rift between her family and herself, and was at least grateful to be shipped off to Seattle since that meant she could get these awful powers of hers under control.

Relationships:

Benny Luna - Melody's younger twin brother. Melody is closest to him out of anyone else, having looked out for him as kids. He is the one person she goes to for anything, and her biggest fear is harming him in any way.

Name: Benjamin "Benny" Luna, Jr.

Age: 21

Gender: Male

Power Grade: B

Power Category: Healing

Power: Benny's powers can be best described as Pain Recycling. Through touch, Benny is able to treat physical injuries (he is unable to treat illnesses or anything biological/genetic in nature) and make it seem as if they disappear completely on his target. However, the truth is that the injury is turned into a type of energy that fills up in Benny. It will fill more rapidly the more he heals, or the greater the injuries he's healed. For example, healing a scraped knee brings microscopic energy, while saving a life immediately puts him at risk of overloading. This energy of his is some sort of negativity, and will affect his usual demeanor and make him more aggressive and temperamental, and when he has too much of it, he goes into a berserk rage and lashes out until the energy is gone. He's able to let it out through touch (which he can use on anything, not just living beings), and it takes the form of a black energy that causes physical damage. There's an obvious indicator to tell where he's at in that stockpiling of energy: his pupils grow larger and larger, and once he's gone berserk his eyes become completely black until he's brought back down.

Disposition: Benny has always had a fascination with superheroes and Coursers, dating far back from reading comic books from the 20th Century before Coursers were ever a reality. When he found out that he himself was a Courser, he couldn't have been more excited, especially when he found out that his abilities related to healing others. He'd been planning on becoming a doctor originally, but gets a bit squeamish at the thought of surgery (poor guy passed out during the dissection lab in biology). His view of Coursers and of powers is relatively positive, seeing it as a way to help other people in ways that could be considered almost miraculous. As a result, he's completely invested in making sure he uses his powers for good rather than evil, and wants to control his powers as best he can as he knows how dangerous they can be if he gets carried away.

Benny tends to do fairly well in school, and was considered a "gifted kid" growing up. He enjoys reading, both novels and comic books, and enjoys drama and theatre as his extracurricular of choice. He wants to work with an official Hero Group once he graduates, hoping to use his powers to help as many people as he can.

History: Benny is the youngest of a set of fraternal twins, born a few minutes after his older sister, Melody. Their family is nuclear and lower-middle class, living in a small place in San Fransisco. It's due to this that Benny had wanted to become a doctor, so that he could financially support his family. All of that changed in his sophomore year of high school, when one day during PE he healed a concussion his friend had received from a school bully throwing a football right at his head. This discovery was exciting for Benny, but quickly became a problem for his twin Melody, who did not want any forms of powers. A few weeks later a heated discussion with their parents led to her own powers awakening. Due to the need for schooling (and an eagerness to get them out of the house due to the tension), the two were sent away to Seattle (luckily their aunt lives up in a smaller suburb in Washington), and the two have beem there ever since.

Relationships:

Melody Luna - Benny's older twin sister. Though their personalities are quite different, the two are pretty close, Melody in particular having looked out for Benny when he was picked on in school. Benny, in turn, is Melody's confidant and usually helps talk her through issues she has with their parents or her own feelings about having powers.

Power:
Download:
After spending a minute with any piece of tech, Peter is not only able to operate it to its full capacity, but recreate it, given the time and resources. He describes with power as being able to see the 'Blueprints and Manuals' of any tech that comes his way. Despite lacking any 'physical' powers, Peter's 'Download has allowed him to reproduce a variety of advanced weapons and accessories once used by his fellow heroes and foes. By combining the 'designs' of dozens of inventions, Peter has developed a forcefield generator, a jetpack and a series of non-lethal blasters to use at any rage. He claims that his 'Download' is constantly imaging new ways to improve his tech, and elevate it to new heights.

Disposition:
Peter has something to prove. He can't throw thunder. He can't walk through walls. His power is so subtly that he's often mistaken as powerless. As a result, he's made it his duty to excel in every class he takes... and he's not afraid to make it known. A bragger and a showoff, Peter believes that he has already conquered the physical and mental worlds.

He's quick to belittle the his 'flashier' powered peers, and even quicker to elevate his 'under-powered' peers. Despite feeling greater kinship with the C Grade and lower students, Peter believes that its in his best interest to mingle with the most powerful people in any given room. Against his deepest, subconscious wishes, he is something of a social climber.

In his free time, he can be found in his quarters, silently tinkering with his tech.

History:
Peter doesn't like to talk about his life before the school. Why? Because it was horribly uninteresting and unnoteworthy. He wasn't the son of a genius or a tech mogul. He was raised in a small, urban flat. The only technology he grew up with was a flickering black-and-white tv, which he worshiped, and a digital alarm clock. He doesn't quite know when his powers started to develop. The lack of tech in his upbringing made it difficult to tell. One day, he confidently dismantled his television and reassembled it, fixing its flicker in the process. The next, he converted his alarm clock into camera. He was 13 by the time his powers were recognized by the relevant authorities, though he claimed to have experience 'prophetic, prototypic dreams' long before then. He enrolled at the school shortly after that, and hasn't really spoken of his home life since. Despite his silence on the topic, he holds a great deal of respect for his parents for supporting him despite his 'quirks'.

Name: Henry. (No last name, and he is still deciding on a 'superhero name')

Age: (21)

Gender: Male.

Appearance:
(A man with blonde hair, usually wearing a hoodie or jacket. He is 6'4", and towers over almost everyone, but is relatively skinny.)

Power Grade: (A)

Power Category: (Reality)

Power: Henry is able to bring fictional characters, powers, and items to life, whether they be in a tv show, movie, or just exist in his mind. This is usually made easier by Henry drawing a depiction of the thing being brought into the world. Henry is also a Maladaptive Daydreamer, which means he daydreams all the time, and his daydreams tend to be more detailed, being epic stories or fights, all existing in his mind.
When he summons a more powerful entity or object, the barrier in his mind between imagination and reality will tend to blur, Henry thinking what is in his mind is real, and what is real is not.
Also, when he is summoning something, he tends to summon the bad, as well as the good. Especially when coping a fictional character's powers.

Disposition: (Guarded and quiet most of the time, and really, really good at art. Pencil art, to be exact. You often only get a glimpse of what he is really thinking or feeling in his art.)

History: (He has been at the school for four years now, learning to handle his power as well as interact with people more, not just the characters in his head.)

Relationships: (He normally is very guarded, and has tentative relationships with other students. I am extremely open to having more closely established relationships if anyone is interested.)

Other Details: (The reason he does not have a last name is that he erased it when he was little, as he had particularly abusive parents.)

Name: Adore Angel (Nicknames: Angel but she prefers to be called by her first name, Adore. People only use Angel when they've known her for years or want to annoy her. A hero name she has been given over the years has been Angel of Light)

Age: 18 years old, however she has no record of her actual birthday so this is an approximate age she was given. --Secretly she hates the fact that she has never been able to celebrate her birthday with a birthday party.

Gender: Female, Straight

Appearance: Adore has unnaturally bright green eyes, with long brown hair with natural gold highlights that goes down to her waist with long layers, and face framing. Her hair is thick, and has some wave to it. Her skin is sun kissed tan from her time living in Florida as a child and her time spent outside. She is 5’7'' at 120lbs with a perfect hourglass figure and lean muscle from years of working out and training.. She has multiple scars, a large X shaped scar on her chest, and a large scar on her left arm that goes from her elbow and circles down to the top of her hand as well as two identical scars incircling her wrists are the three most noticeable scars. Otherwise she has old scars that have faded over time on her back that are consistent with a whip, and scars on her arms and legs. She typically wears black and purple and will tend to stick to clothes that are easy to move around in. She wears skinny jeans, or leggings, with boots, and a purple turtle neck long sleeve shirt with wrist high gloves with a utility belt. She also will wear a brace on her left wrist to support it from an old injury. When she knows she's going to be in a battle situation, she'll have her hair braided back and if she is in a battle situation, she'll have her twin swords strapped to her back, with hidden knives in her boots, and other hidden weapons and tools like a foldable staff/spear that her younger brother designed for her.

Power Grade: A

Power Category: Energy

Power: Adore has gained a reputation of being known as the Angel of Light. This is due in the fact that her abilities revolve around light, and transformation of energy into light. She is known for having the power of the sun, which a lot of the times will appear in the form of fire even though that wasn't it's original form. She can also use her abilities to absorb an enemies attacks as long as they are of similar energy (light, darkness, etc.) and she will transform the enemies energy into light and will redirect the attack back to her enemy. This is a very dangerous strategy though as the enemies powers will act as a foreign power to Adore's body and, depending on how much energy Adore has absorbed, can potentially threaten her life. She also cannot use this power with elemental powers Ice, earth, etc. (with fire being the exception). The reason why she has gained the Angel in her title is because she can control her light to form Angelic wings and can control them to temporarily take flight but she can not stay airborne long. She can use her light to create barriers, attack, burn down buildings, etc. She is also known to use her abilities to surround her twin swords for a kind of lightsaber effect. She basically has the abilities of the sun.

She has also trained her body in martial arts, which is why she has her twin swords. She would much rather use her martial arts and her swords to fight over her abilities. She very rarely uses her abilities and always prefers hand to hand combat or weapons combat. Although her martial arts is not a superpower, she has developed her martial arts abilities to a masters level including her usage of weapons.

Weaknesses she has include: a genetic defect that if activated, can kill her. Right now, that gene is inactive, but a lot of the children who were modified like her have this gene. No one has figured out how to completely deactivate that gene so Adore lives with the idea that one day she could randomly die. She also has a chip in her neck, at the base of her skull, that doctors have been unable to remove without killing her. This chip, if someone can hack into it, could debilitate Adore, or even kill her by causing massive brain damage, all of the experiments have this chip as well. There is a certain voltage of electricity that when Adore is hit with will temporarily stop her heart, creating a death-like state that will last for a few minutes. This is another thing she shares with the other experiments of the illegal organization. Other than those, her left wrist has never healed right from an injury when she was a kid so she typically has to wear a brace for her wrist, and her left rib cage is a little more sensitive than her right from an old injury as well.

Disposition:
Adore values good morals, and protecting the innocent and fighting for justice above all else. She has a strong sense of morality, and will always fight for what she feels is right or just. She is a very quiet, reserved person and is very calculating in her moves. She has a way of falling into leadership roles in group projects, and always finds a way to take charge when she feels that her leadership is needed. In academics, she strives in linguistics and can speak ten languages fluently. She also can play the piano, but all of the songs she plays are by memory and she can't create her own musical pieces. To her, Piano is just a memory game. She is also a pretty good singer. She's not that great in math, although she is an overachiever and always strives to pass all of her classes with perfect grades. In normal academics, she has managed to keep a 4.1 GPA and has also made sure to excel in her classes that partook to her powers, and learning to control them. She always chooses to concentrate on school work then socialization, and has always felt that she took life more seriously than the other students. Most of her teachers would describe her as a prodigy even though she doesn't accept the praise and will deny public recognition for her achievements whenever offered. If fact, when she is publically rewarded for her achievements, she can become angry and potentially volatile if she is personally addressed. This is mostly due to her PTSD and extreme anxiety. The New Guard has had their eyes on Adore for a while, and now that she is close to graduating at the age of 18, hope that she will join the New Guard. They also hope that her knowledge of the illegal organization who modified her will help them to permanently shut them down. Outside of school though, her hobbies include reading, singing, and dancing (mostly hip hop or poms).

History: Adore didn't grow up as a normal child. She was born into an illegal organization that has been trying to genetically create, and modify, children to either have powers, or to increase their already existing powers. She grew up in this organization until she was seven when she was freed by members of the New Guard who were tasked with freeing as many of the children as possible. This illegal organization still exists today, although the governments, and New Guard have been trying to locate the organization and permanently shut them down. After Adore was freed though, it became evident that the experiments of this organization were not going to fit into normal society. She was raised under special care, where she was closely watched. When Adore realized that she was different from other kids her age, and when she realized that she had been hidden from the real world, she became terrified of her own power, and in order to control it, and her emotions which her abilities seemed to react to, she requested permission to learn martial arts. She was granted that permission and spent the good majority of her childhood learning martial arts. For her, martial arts became a crutch and a way for her to never have to use her powers again. She was angered, and enraged when she was informed of her enrollment in this new school, Arthur Gray's School of Power, and for a while, refused to cooperate with the teachers or staff. Due to her PTSD, she refused to show her powers, even though her powers were known, and she refused to use them due to her terror of what she knew her powers were capable of. It took her a while, but when she finally developed the courage, she started to slowly use her abilities. They were small little displays of power at first, since she was too terrified to use any more than small displays, but eventually she learned that she has had the control for a long time to control her abilities. She has been given the A grade of control with her powers, but deep down, she is still terrified that if she ever loses control of her emotions, she could lose control of her abilities. She describes her powers as a demon living deep inside her, locked away tight to protect those around her. And even though she knows she could lose control, she has only ever lost control of her powers three times in her life and now at the age of 18, her teachers are under the impression that her powers are under her full control. To this day, she still will refuse to use her powers as a first resort and would rather rely on hand to hand combat, or usage of her weapons. And if it is just a battle with her life at stake, she will most likely refuse to use her powers entirely. She will usually only use her powers to protect those she loves.

Relationships: TBD, I’m reading over people’s bios now, but if you wanna talk about creating a connection with my character in the story, message me! There’s a lot of you here so I’m reading as fast as I can.

Other Details: She has a few "siblings", children she grew up with who she considers her family. Devin is a super genius and works for a government agency to help design new technology, mostly in space travel since those are his interests, but he will design new gadgets for Adore whenever he feels the desire. Andrew is the only one of her siblings who grew up and didn't really have any real powers. Even though he grew up in the same organization as Adore, once he was freed and grew up with the close watch of the government, it became very evident very fast that Andrew didn't really have a power other than maybe some superhuman strength but it wasn't anything crazy like picking up a car. It was more along the lines of he could lift as much as a professional powerlifter without having to exercise or have the muscle like they did. Andrew is the only one of her "siblings" to be able to go to a normal high school, with students who don't have powers. And then there is the only biological sibling to Adore. Adore named her Melody since when she was freed from the organization, she didn't have a name. Melody is eleven years younger than Adore and is still under the watchful eyes of the government. Melody is behind in normal development for an 7 year old, and acts more like a five year old and is about the same size as a five year old. She loves to color, and she is almost identical to Adore. But, Melody is another child with powerful abilities like her older sister. Instead of an Energy user like Adore though, Melody is a Mind based power user. Her abilities range from reading peoples thoughts, foretelling future events, seeing peoples auras, and when she is angered or her emotions are high, she can levitate objects and levitate herself. She typically will tell the future with her drawings, and will draw very descriptive pictures of future events that she sees. Adore also has a normal human friend, Samantha Chen, who is the daughter to a rich family but the family does not have any powers. Mr. Chen owns a technology firm in Japan, and Sam’s mother is in the entertainment business. The Chens are the ones who have chosen to financially support all of Adore's, and her "siblings" decisions in life and they are the reason why Adore was enrolled into the Arthur Gray's School of Power.
