Name:
Elanis Nuetari
Age: 39
Gender: Male
Race: Terran Aasimar (celestial-blooded)

Synopsis/Bio: Elanis grew up in a wealthy household in the Eastlands. His father was a wealthy businessman, whilst his mother - a Volarian immigrant who had been his father's secretary - died when he was only three. It was the unusual pigment of his hair that led to the discovery of his aasimar nature, attributed to a celestial dalliance somewhere in his ancestry. It wasn't entirely uncommon given the regularity of celestial entities gracing Terra with their presence due to the planar irregularities of the continent.

Whilst his father had little time for him, instead paying for nannies to care for him, Elan spent much of his time engrossed in books. Though he began with fiction, as he grew, his interests diversified into philosophy, economics and all manner of academic literature - in no small part due to the influence of home tutors and his private school education.

Throughout all of this, his father expected that Elan would follow in his footsteps of business and wealth, but his academic pursuits led him elsewhere. He wanted to make a difference in the world, to leave it in a better state than he found it. Terran society was chaotic and often unequal, and he wanted to change that. After studying at university till his mid twenties, he spent the better part of the next decade teaching. But he wasn't satisfied - influencing the minds of the next generation was a powerful thing, and was the first step towards societal change. But when elections were held for the new Terran government, he decided to stand.

His persuasive arguments, strong morals and liberal values appealed to the citizens of the Eastlands who, much like those in the Midlands, are a diverse and varied people who hold freedom close to their hearts. He was elected in, and has served as their representative since.

Abilities:

  • Telepathy - within a limited range, Elanis can communicate telepathically. This also allows him to read the surface thoughts of unguarded minds, but only those on the very surface.
  • Telekinesis - Elanis has telekinetic power sufficient to toss people around, and lift heavier objects such as vehicles with exertion.
  • Levitation - Elanis can fly at moderate speeds.

Name:
Inarin Nuvellon
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Species: Human, Lutetian

Synopsis/Bio: Inarin is the youngest son of a wealthy family in Lutetia, a quiet and studious young man with a gentle heart and an inquiring mind. At the young age of eight he was entered into the Monastic Order to follow in his elder brother's footsteps, and as a political manoeuvre by his family to curry favour with the church. As a young boy with a significant head start on education (his mother had ensured that he and his elder brother received tutors as soon as they were old enough to understand the lessons) and a well-to-do background, he was accepted with little fuss. His lack of athleticism was something the Order saw relatively easy to improve on - he certainly had an aptitude for the theory of swordplay.

In his time at the monastery he has excelled beyond most of his peers in the academic side of his training, whilst attaining distinctly average scores in his swordplay. He remains a somewhat nervous and shy young man - in part due to his suffering from a condition known as "Panic Disorder" that causes him to suffer occasional and unpredictable panic attacks, usually two to three times a month - a fact which hasn't helped his popularity (already low due to his privileged upbringing biasing many of the order's recruits from more humble origins against him).

The attacks are also concerning for reasons of his aspirations as a paladin - their unpredictability would make him a liability in the field, and so he's desperate to beat them. The attacks are a lot better now than they were when he first joined the monastery, coming two to three times a month rather than the multiple-times weekly they were coming when he was younger.

In recent weeks, Inarin has begun to come out of his shell somewhat. This has been hampered to no small degree, however, by the murder of his parents in their family home. He's all-but certain that the culprit is the Caer that he unknowingly encountered at a rave recently, and somewhat blames himself for drawing the creature's attention.

Rather than letting their deaths crush him, however, Inarin has resolved more firmly than ever to push himself to become stronger as a result. He wants to be able to stand up to the creature that killed them, should it ever become necessary, and not be a liability to his comrades.

Family:

  • Parents (DECEASED) - Lucille and Lothaire Nuvellon, wealthy horse breeders who live on an estate near to Lutetia City.
  • Aunt - Florianne Nuvellon, a wealthy dressmaker who runs an exclusive boutique in Saint Lemeux. Largely considered an outcast by the family due to her necromancy.
  • Elder Brother - Aurelion Nuvellon, Paladin

Name:
Valérie Lachance
Age: 87
Gender: Female
Species: Werewolf, Lutetian

Synopsis/Bio: Valérie was born to pack life, and from a young age learned that survival was about strength - not just physical strength, but also strength of will. If you let anyone put you in the dirt, whether it was literal or figurative, you showed weakness. And that called the vultures. As a result, she strove to become a woman who exuded power in every glance, every step and every word. Looking and acting like you mean business is half the battle - and will avoid as many fights as it causes.

To an outsider looking in, Valérie is convinced of few things more than she's convinced of her own badassery. She's a strutting alpha-bitch, with an image that's part diva, part punk, and all mean. She talks down to people a lot when she sees that they deserve it, but for her packmates - those she cares for - she equally talks them up when she sees that they need it. That said, she takes no shit. She is far from all talk, and is more than willing to throw down to make her points stick.

Valérie deals in drugs in a small-time way, and takes part in illegal street-fights for money, a pair of pass-times that get her in trouble with the law on a reasonably regular basis. She's a woman of vice - drinking, smoking, fucking and more - all to the edge of excess. But beneath her rock'n'roll exterior is a determined and sharp-witted woman who would give anything for her pack.

Abilities:

  • Regeneration - Valérie heals almost instantaneously from most wounds, and has an incredibly high tolerance for alcohol and drugs.
  • Enhanced Strength/Agility
  • Enhanced senses (smell/hearing)
  • Wolf Form - Valérie's wolf form is that of a bulky biped.
  • Lunar Cycle - Valérie is forced to transform during a full moon, but otherwise her abilities are unaffected by its phases.

Name:
Aurelion Nuvellon
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Species: Lutetian Human

Synopsis/Bio: Aurelion is a well renowned and capable paladin of the Evequec church. Born to a moneyed family, he was raised with an excellent education and provided with all he needed to succeed in his youth. However, despite this, it was not a perfectly happy childhood. His parents struggled with him. Their marriage was already more one of convenience than one of passion, and this lack of love meant that neither were entirely comfortable raising a child with the other.

And so Aurelion, and later his brother, spent much of their childhoods being tended by a hired nanny by the name of Christine. Though Lothaire and Lucille weren't entirely distant, neither seemed to want to spare the time to deal with the more 'unpleasant' sides of raising a child. Whenever there was a tantrum or an upset, they would summon Christine to deal with it.

Though neither of his parents really knew how to handle a child, they did try. And so Aurelion was doted on. Almost anything he asked for, he got. Despite Christine's attempts to keep him grounded, he became entitled and at times bratty. He was a good-humoured and good-natured child, but one with a precocious love for causing trouble (because he knew he'd get away with it).

This lasted until he was ten, when his parents decided that the best thing - both for him, and for them - was that he be inducted into the Monastic Order as a proselyte. They were both devout members of the Evequec faith, and they wanted both to curry favour with the church, and for their son to excel in the ways they saw fit. Ways in which their own parenting had not encouraged, despite their efforts.

Aurelion was, to begin with, resentful. He had been torn away from Christine - who he saw as more his mother than Lucille - and from his childhood home, taken from a life of luxury to one of humility. In his first few weeks at the academy, he was a nightmare. He acted out, disrespected his teachers, and generally made a nuisance of himself.

It was only after consistent brushes with the Academy's discipline that he reluctantly accepted his fate. Over the years, muted tolerance turned to contentment, and contentment turned to devotion. Every visit home - to beaming smiles of pride and unprecedented warmth from his parents - encouraged him down the path.

Nurtured by the church's scholars and warriors, he developed into a confident but humble young man, kind and pleasant to be around. His sense of humour endured the training, and he's known as fairly lenient for a paladin, but that isn't to say he lacks devotion to his duty.

He cherishes his younger brother Inarin above all others. Though the two did not grow up together - Inarin was born just before Aurelion left to study at the academy - he grew to adore his sibling's admiration as he grew. Unbeknownst to the younger boy, it has always been a desire to be a good example for Inarin that drove him to become the best he could be, even more so than the pride of their parents. He knew what growing up with his parents' ... less than stellar parenting had done to him, and he wanted to be there for Inarin in a way that they'd never really been there for him.

Name:
Florianne Nuvellon
Age: 41
Gender: Female
Species: Lutetian Human

Synopsis/Bio: Florianne was, from an early age, a wilful girl. Where others in her family were content to remain static - comfortably wealthy, with the freedom to do as they pleased within the realms of their domain and the approval of the rest of the family - Florianne found doing so unfulfilling.

She desired purpose, and a sense of accomplishment that would not come from being a complacent rich lump, as she charmingly phrased it. And so, despairing of her attitude, her parents sent her away from the estate to live with a cousin in the city, who owned a dressmaker's.

There, Florianne learned to apply herself to the design and creation of wonderful and extravagant outfits - a pastime she found pleasure in. Still, her appetite for knowledge and capability were not sated, and so she sought out another avenue - one that her reading had drawn her attention to. Necromancy.

Naturally, her immediate family - devout church-following types - were appalled. Just because the rest of the country accepted necromancy didn't mean they would do anything so sensible. The cousin she was apprenticed under, thankfully, did not share their distaste. Her side of the family had embraced necromancy long past, contributing to the relative estrangement between her and Florianne's parents.

When her guardian died, Florianne inherited the dressmaker's. She continues to practice her necromancy, and does business on the side producing potions and tinctures.

Abilities:

  • Necromancy - the art of raising the dead, cursing, binding, communing, and all that jazz.
  • Alchemy - the use of magic to transmute and alter substances to infuse them with new properties. Useful for potions, but also dresses.

Name:
Noah Lévêque
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Species: Lutetian Human

Bio/Synopsis: Noah is a recently graduated Warden of the Order of the White.

His mother, Diane, was also an animancer of the Order - she died when he was ten, an event that has had a rippling effect across the rest of his life. When he and his mother were walking home, one of her vestiges warned her of imminent danger. She immediately directed Noah to run and take refuge hiding in a nearby skip, and to remain there until she came to fetch him.

He hid in the skip, watching through a crack as a figure lurched into view at the end of the alley, unsteady and feral. Their face was gaunt and their silvery hair knotted. In the ensuing conflict, Diane was killed attempting to defend herself, and what Noah is certain was a vampire tore at her throat in ravenous thirst.

The vampire, when its thirst had been sated, then tore her head from her body and fled the scene. When her body was found, Noah was still quivering in the skip. His story of a vampire was met with skepticism by the paladin who investigated the scene, who pronounced it a werewolf attack and used it as an excuse to raid a nearby minor pack. Case closed, officially.

Despite having been powerless to help, Noah blamed himself for not being able to save her - and the church for ignoring justice in favour of furthering their own agenda. His father Nicolas did his best to raise him, from thereon but he struggled - the amount he had to work to support them left him with little time to spend with his son. They had little other family, and so Noah was forced to spend a great deal of time alone.

Noah adapted. He became quiet - sometimes going days without uttering a word. He turned to his mother's books on animancy, poring over them with almost obsessive fascination and lingering over her hand-written notes in the margin. In part, it was motivated by a desire to speak with her again. It was also motivated by a desire to never be in a position where his lack of knowledge and power caused him to fail someone he cared for again.

This might have continued for much longer, had it not been for Nicolas receiving a visit from one of his wife's former colleagues two months after her passing. Diane had been a member of the Order of the White, though she had long since chosen to leave its halls and make her own path, and word of her death had reached them. They sought to offer their condolences, but during the conversation, the representative observed Noah's obsession with Diane's books.

He offered the young boy a place at the Academy - where he would be cared for full time, taking pressure off of his father to provide for them both. Though he was initially dubious, fearing that he would see even less of his son, Nicolas eventually decided it was in his son's best interests to accept.

Since then, Noah has mostly moved past his grief. His years at the academy have been good, and he has proven to be a talented animancer in his own right. His relationship with his father remains strained, and though Nicolas has been similarly successful, having found a better job, a better home and started a relationship with a young woman named Juliette, there is still a rift between them.

Noah has friends, but few of them close. He struggles with forming connections and exposing his emotions, and does his best to keep them filed away where they can't cause trouble.

Noah seeks to use his animancy to make Lutetia safer, so that he might prevent more children from losing family members to its dangers. Buried within him is also a burning desire to seek out and exact vengeance on the vampire that killed his mother, as well as a lingering resentment towards the paladin that denied him justice.

To those ends, he has taken up the path of the Warden - an animancer specialising in battle. In his time at the academy, he has contacted and befriended the spirit of a long-dead paladin by the name of Aurore, and is able to tap her skill with the sword to support his own training. Aurore remembers little of her life beyond the fact that she served the Monastic Order, and has agreed to aid Noah provided that he helps her discover more about herself, and serves the city she loved despite its flaws.

Despite all his studies, his mother has refused all attempts made by him or anyone else to contact her.

Abilities:

  • Animancy - Noah is a talented animancer, specialising in the manipulation of vestiges and in the physical manifestation of anima, but capable of utilising both raw anima and object animation in battle.
    • Aurore - by channelling Aurore, Noah instantly gains the skill of a swordsman with twice his experience, as well as a second pair of eyes and ears to watch his back and guide his hand in battle.
    • Deliverance - one of Aurore's most solid memories, Deliverance is the masterwork consecrated longsword with which she fought throughout her career. She's fairly certain that the real thing must still be in the church's possession, but Noah is also able to manifest a conjured, spiritual replica. The sizeable blade is light in his grip, allowing him to easily wield it, but strikes with the weight and force that its appearance would suggest. It seems to still possess the consecrated qualities of the original, despite its replica status, so strong is Aurore's memory of it. As a spiritual weapon, it also has the potential to inflict damage that is more than physical.
    • Body and Soul - Noah's aura is strong enough that he can channel it into a quasi-physical form, wreathing himself in protective energy and enhancing his physical capabilities to superhuman levels. The strength of his soul and will is directly transferred to his body, much like the use of 'ki' in other cultures.
  • Soulsight - an aspect of his animancy, Noah is able to see spirits and ghosts, and always sees their true forms.

Names:
Alveré and Valère Castellane
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Species: Lutetian Human

Bio/Synopsis: Alveré and Valère are the identical twin sons of Evangeline and Albert Castellane, a prestigious and wealthy family dwelling in Lutetia City. Evangeline is the CEO of a multinational hospitality corporation, 'Castellane International', which was founded by her grandfather. Alveré and Valère have thusly lived a life of luxury, seldom wanting for any material goods. It has also been an isolated life. Despite attending (prestigious private) schools, they seldom made any friends - instead relying almost solely on one another. They felt that many sought to befriend them solely for their money.

Though almost impossible to distinguish from one another physically, once one knows them better it is often an easy matter to tell them apart. Of the two, Alveré is the elder twin and the more vocal, brash and tends to take the lead. Valère is a touch softer-spoken and gentler, though he is often caught up in his brother's enthusiasm.

The pair are both amateur necromancers by family tradition (though Valère is the more capable), and stay fit through a combination of fencing and dance (in both of which Alveré excels).

Abilities:

  • Necromancy - primarily simple cantrips and tricks, as well as more direct uses suitable for self defense.

oFF3TTW.jpg
Name:
Élisabeth Voclain
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Species: Lutetian Human

Bio/Synopsis: Élisabeth is the only daughter of a high ranking and wealthy cleric in the Evequec Ecclesiarchy (born before his ordaining), and has grown up with the adoration of her parents and the toadying of her peers to impress upon her one thing: the world revolves around her.

The young woman she has become as a result is imperious, manipulative and above all: ambitious. Her faith is superficial, for the only goddess she subscribes to is herself. Money, power and beauty are her vices and she pursues them with ruthlessness.

Of course, as one might expect, at the heart of this persona lies insecurity. She fears losing her beauty, and worries that there is no truth behind the sycophantic compliments she receives from those around her.

Were there a way to ensure that her beauty was never marred, to grasp at more power and ensure that those around her could never betray her. Well, that would be the dream.

Name:
Evangeline Castellane
Age: 44
Gender: Female
Species: Lutetian Human

Bio/Synopsis: Evangeline is the CEO of Castellane International, a multinational hospitality corporation that has hotels and other resorts in locations across Valore. The company was founded by her grandfather, Casimir Castellane, just under a hundred years ago. It was through his shrewd business sense that the venture prospered, and the family's already considerable wealth exploded.

Evangeline is the third Castellane to head the company, after her mother Petrice did the same. She is an only child. Her husband, Damien Castellane (formerly Damien Brodeur, he took her name due to it being the name of the corporation), she met not through work but through her necromantic circles.

The Castellane family has a long tradition of necromancy dating back beyond the founding of the Castellane corporation. They can trace their bloodline back to the old leading necromantic powers in the country's distant past, and have long been proud of that heritage. Though that focus on the past has diminished since the corporation's founding, necromancy remains a prominent tradition.

Evangeline has two sons, twins - Alveré and Valère. She doesn't spend as much time with them as she should, and never has, instead trusting their care to nannies and hired hands whilst she was occupied with the company and her responsibilities to the society. Damien acts as their necromancy tutor, and as such has more of a connection with them. She does care for them deeply, and their relationship is not bad, but is distant.

Evangeline herself is a cool-headed and ambitious woman, and can be both cruel and kind to those she feels deserve it. Her respect is earned, not given. One of her greatest frustrations and resentments lies in her grandfather.

Casimir, as a powerful necromancer, did not wish to let death be his end. He had far too much to do, and there was far too much money to be earned. And so when he began to grow old, he used his power to keep death at bay. And he does so to this day. Though to avoid legal scrutiny he is officially deceased, and he had to pass his corporation over, he continues to pull strings from the background (to Evangeline's discontent).

Her mother was so bitter and resentful with having to put up with him, that by the time she was old enough to consider going through the same process, she pointedly chose not to. As she said: "An eternity with my blasted father breathing down my neck? I'll take death, thanks, if it's all the same to you."

Abilities:

  • Necromancy - Evangeline is a notably capable necromancer.

NxSeCkc.jpg
Name:
Peregrine (Perrin) Lacroix
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Species: Lutetian Human

Bio/Synopsis: Peregrine is the youngest child of Aubert and Josephine Lacroix, members of a wealthy Lutetian family with close ties to the Evequec church. The Lacroix family have long provided the Church with donations and progeny to join their ranks, out of long-standing family tradition, religious devotion and good old fashioned high society politics.

Though Aubert is not the 'patriarch' of the family - being the younger brother of Lucas Lacroix, the man who owns the Lacroix Academy (the fencing school which proliferates the family's reputation as exceptional duellists) - he inherited his fair share of the family's real estate (in which much of the family fortune lies) upon his parents' deaths. Thus, he and Josephine, along with Peregrine's elder sister Serena, live in comfort provided by this vast inheritance.

Despite this, they are not entirely out of touch with the challenges and hardships of the world. His mother, Josephine, was not born to a moneyed family - she met Aubert at art classes whilst working as a teacher at a state school in Merveilleux - and as such made it a point to impress upon both her children the importance of hard work and contributing to society. She still works as a teacher despite the wealth into which she has married, though she now does so at Académie Delacroix, a far more prestigious institution in Luskonios. Aubert, too, did what he could to ensure his children didn't take what they had for granted and keep them disciplined, to uphold the good reputation of the family.

And so despite an extremely comfortable childhood, Peregrine was not spoiled as many wealthy children are. So when at the young age of ten he was sent away to the Monastic Order to train as a paladin (as was tradition for the second-born child of the Lacroix), the transition was not as difficult as it might otherwise have been. Adjusting to the humility of the living conditions was still difficult, but he endured it without too many complaints.

As a boy, Peregrine - or 'Perrin' as he became known amongst his less well-bred classmates - was whilst cocky and self-assured, also a hard worker. He often took it upon himself to try and 'lighten up' his dourer classmates (which could be seen as somewhat insensitive, considering the prevalence of unfortunate backgrounds in the Order), but was respectful to his teachers and disciplined in his study. As he grew older, he developed a suave and charming persona that was endearing to some and annoying to many.

As a recently graduated paladin, Peregrine retains his youthful charm (and arrogance, albeit often in jest). He is viewed by many of his superiors as a rising star, and they forgive his jovial manner in deference to his undeniable talent as a swordsman and marksman, as well as his unquestionable devotion to his beliefs.

Whilst not explicitly prejudiced against werewolves, it is clear that he holds the church's teachings regarding them close to heart, regarding them as inherently dangerous and prone to violence. It's rare that he'll let his guard down around even a werewolf who has proved themselves friendly.

This is in part due to a close scrape his mother had with a Lunentia sufferer at her old school. An older student contracted lycanthropy and tried to hide it, and on the eve of his first transformation ran rampant through the neighbourhood - including his school, where a number of teachers, including Josephine, were still working. There were several casualties before the police and the paladins arrived. Though he was only eight at the time, the image of his mother's pale and terrified face when he saw her after the event has remained with him ever since.

Family:

  • Mother: Josephine Lacroix
  • Father: Aubert Lacroix
  • Elder Sister: Serena Lacroix
  • Uncle: Lucas Lacroix
  • Aunt: Karine Lacroix
  • Cousin: Camille Lacroix

iwdxN3X.jpg
Name:
Jamie Évariste
Age: 24 (physical age, 18)
Gender: Male
Species: Évariste Vampire

Bio/Synopsis: Jamie is the second-youngest 'child' of House Évariste, an influential minor house in Lutetia that owes its allegiance to House Sylvestre. Though he is youthful even by human standards, he was raised from birth by the Évariste vampires - taken from a human thrall, as is their tradition with all those they turn. Thanks to the atmosphere of his childhood, Jamie is - by human standards - incredibly amoral. He has little regard for human life, and scarcely more regard for the lives of his fellow vampires.

Jamie respects power above all else. They cooperate with Sylvestre because Sylvestre is powerful. He follows his sire's orders because his sire is powerful. Whilst this is not the only metric by which he judges a person, it is one of the foremost. He enjoys testing that power in confrontation, and as a result, gets into a lot of fights. He's smart enough to curb this behaviour when interacting with those such as the Sylvestres (and humans, considering the importance of vampiric anonymity), but anyone without something to hold over him, he considers fair game. The adrenaline of a fight is a constant motivator for him.

Despite these violent tendencies, Jamie isn't heartless. He has formed attachments to both vampires and humans in the past, as well as friendships. He values those close to him independently from his concept of the value of life.

Jamie has recently come to Lutetia City (as of a few months ago) to seek out more thrills. Be it playing dangerous games of cat and mouse with the church, or getting into scuffles with houseless vampires, the adrenaline junkie side of him has a habit of overriding his better judgement.

Abilities:

  • Vampiric Powers - House Évariste's bloodline accentuates aspects of vampiric power related to enhancing and altering their physical form.
    • Enhanced Physical Ability - Jamie is physically powerful, capable of going toe to toe with a burly werewolf without trouble. His greatest asset, however, is his speed. Beyond even that of many of his fellow Évariste vampires, his ability to dart around a fight leaves his (numerous) opponents scrambling to keep up. His body is also tougher and more difficult to harm than a human's.
    • Enhanced Senses - Jamie's senses are potent, exceptional by the standards of vampires.
    • Regeneration - Jamie regenerates within seconds from most injuries, though more significant wounds require longer to heal.
    • Form Alteration - Jamie can't fully change shape, such as to a bat or wolf, but he can alter his form. Notable examples would be altering his hands into claws, concealing his fangs, or changing his facial features. He can even adjust his body temperature at will.
    • Unlife - Jamie doesn't need to eat, sleep or breathe, but can do if he wishes (or at least fake it).

Name:
Marianne Rousseau
Age: 63
Gender: Female
Species: Lutetian Human

Bio/Synopsis: Marianne is a paladin of the Evequec church, and one of the Masters of the Monastic Order. Though she is no longer the most formidable fighter in combat due to her age, she remains in good shape and her skill with a blade is great. Marianne was a proselyte during the House Caer skirmishes, and remembers well the state of the order in that time and how easily the monsters batted aside their most capable paladins and most advanced technology. It was in these skirmishes that her tutor, Adelaide Moulin - who had been like a mother to her - was killed, as well as a number of her elder classmates.

She is incredibly devout, and devoted to the church. She despises vampires above all other supernatural creatures, but believes the houses annihilated after the purge. Her specialties as a teacher are in literature and mental fortitude classes. She is known to be a kind and gentle teacher unless she is displeased with you, in which case she hardens to cold steel.

jKX9STO.jpg
Name:
Estelle Dufort
Age: 32
Gender: Female
Species: Lutetian Human

Bio/Synopsis: At thirty-two, Estelle is one of the youngest ever Masters of the Monastic Order. She achieved her position by merit of her iron will, sharp mind and incredible skill. An orphan raised by the order, Estelle is utterly devoted to it and its causes, and does not question the church's doctrine for love nor money. Though sharp and intelligent, Estelle's greatest flaw is likely her pride - she believes in her skill and in the strength of her faith, and has been known not to see failure coming in time to save lives by retreating.

Despite this, in all but a few isolated incidents, her aptitude for tactics and wise leadership mean that even as a master, she spends a lot of time in the field. When not in the field, she sometimes takes sparring classes.

zEz9Gko.jpg
Name:
Eloi Moreau
Age: 213
Gender: Male
Species: Sylvestre Vampire

Bio/Synopsis: Eloi was, in life, a member of the Order of the White - a Warden with considerable talent in the arts of animation and the manipulation of vestiges. His potent Soulsight, however, left many uncomfortable in his presence - he could almost unfailingly tell when someone was lying, what they were feeling and more, all just by looking at them. As such, whilst many respected him, few called him a close friend. He had few attachments, and was driven largely by personal ambition rather than devotion to his order.

So when at the age of twenty-three he was turned by House Sylvestre (after his Soulsight made him a target), he adjusted relatively quickly to his new life. He was far from pleased at first, at having to abandon his goals within the Order of the White, but he quickly realised that the gift had simply opened many more, greater doors for him. He had an eternity to perfect his art and to achieve greatness - with none of the limitations of his previous position.

Abilities:

  • Animancy
  • Vampiric Powers

Name:
Kiruya Ito
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Species: Losenyu Human (Spirit-Touched)

Bio/Synopsis: Kiruya was born on Tianshi's streets, like hundreds of children every year in Losenji. Many of those children die as their parents are unable to support them, or due to the rampant disease in the city's slums. Kiruya was lucky (though at times it doesn't feel like it) enough to have something that set him apart from the other children.

He was born with pure white hair, and striking electric blue eyes - enough to easily identify him as being spirit-touched. Spirit-touched children draw a high price in Tianshi's underworld, and so in a bid to escape her poverty-stricken fate, his mother sold him.

The buyer was one of Tianshi's underworld leaders, a man by the name of Ichirou Ito. Ichirou is a major player in Losenji's criminal world, a collector of skilled warriors, thieves and other gifted individuals - most of whom he raised and trained himself. He refers to these men and women as his children, and uses them as a tool to further his influence in the illegal markets of the drugs and weapons trade that earns him his money.

Kiruya was, thusly, raised as a weapon to serve Ichirou alongside near a dozen other spirit-touched children of varying ages. However, whether it was the influence of his bonded spirit or merely his nature, he did not become as unfeeling and cold as most of his fellows. Though he killed for Ichirou willingly and with little thought, as he grew older, he became increasingly dissatisfied with his situation.

Just shy of two years ago, he decided to walk away from it all. He announced his intention to Ichirou, who naturally was not best pleased. It took him killing two of his 'siblings' before the man caved in - not wishing to see any more of his 'children' die - not even Kiruya.

Since then, Kiruya has been wandering Losenji without purpose, seldom staying long in any one place. Though he's picked up some social graces along the way, his upbringing has left him... difficult to get along with.

Abilities:

  • Lightning Spirit Channelling
    • Lightning Generation/Manipulation
    • Hyper-Enhanced Reflexes
    • Hyper-Enhanced Speed

Name:
Avacyn Lamina Caeruleum
Age: 198
Gender: Female
Species: Caeruleum Vampire

Bio/Synopsis: Towards the end of the Caeruleum skirmishes, Avacyn was captured by the Inquisition. Over the course of the decades since, the institution has tried to put an end to her in innumerable ways, but eventually came to the conclusion that she simply cannot be killed. As such, she has instead been imprisoned in the deepest vaults of their most secure sanctuary, and all knowledge of her erased from official records. Only a select group of the senior-most Inquisitors of the organisation are even aware of her continued existence.

Abilities:

  • Caeruleum Bloodline Powers
    • Mist Form - Avacyn can alter her entire body, or select parts of it, into a mistlike form at will.
    • Hypnotism - Avacyn can dominate the minds of others by making eye contact with them. She is particularly gifted with this power, and it can take as little as a moment of eye contact to create a fully subservient thrall.
    • Dormant Awareness - Avacyn is always aware of her surroundings, even whilst sleeping/dormant.
    • Aura of Undeath - Avacyn can choose to project an aura of fear and cold, tied loosely to her mood but able to be controlled at will. She can project this aura either outwards in all directions, or direct it more precisely.
    • Consumption - Avacyn is able to devour flesh, blood and bone in quantities that seem impossible for her small stature.
    • Illusions - Avacyn can project complex and extensive illusions into the minds of those around her, to the point where they can cause actual harm by sending the body into shock.
    • Enhanced Physical Ability - Avacyn's speed, reflexes, strength and endurance are greatly enhanced.
    • Enhanced Senses - Avacyn's senses, particularly her hearing and eyesight, are greatly enhanced.
    • True Regeneration - Avacyn can regenerate from almost literally any injury, up to and including being incinerated or dissolved into near nothingness. Blessed holy silver, direct sunlight and similar methods can stop her regenerating so long as they are in place, but as soon as they are removed she begins to regenerate once more.

Name:
Charles Devereaux
Age: 83
Gender: Male
Species: Lutetian Human

Bio/Synopsis: Charles is a Master Warden of the Order of the White, and the College Master of Harcourt College - the college of wardens. This places him as the senior-most of the Order's wardens, and the one responsible for any missions or assignments that the Wardens receive.

Despite his age, Charles remains spry and full of vigor. Whilst his body isn't what it used to be, his animancy remains very potent, and through its use he can surpass his normal physical limits.

As a much younger man, Charles fought in the House Caer Skirmishes alongside the Church, and was responsible for the death of Lilas Caeruleum, a feat that he generally does not advertise.

Abilities:

  • Animancy - Charles is a master animancer. If it can be done with animancy, chances are he can do it. His utmost speciality is in spiritual manifestation, and in the use of spiritual aura to enhance his own body and protect himself from harm.

Name:
Elliot Page
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Species: Lutetian Werewolf

Bio/Synopsis: Life for a werewolf is tough in Lutetia, even discounting the prevalence of gang violence between their packs. Since before he was born, Elliot's parents have gone from job to job. His father, Adam, has done work as a delivery driver, a warehouse worker, a window cleaner, a security guard and more. Every time, he lost his job after the fact that he was a werewolf was discovered - be it due explicitly to his species, or due to dubious complaints from colleagues or customers that only began to flood in after the reveal. His mother, Hannah Bellamy, has suffered similar difficulties in her work as a mechanic, plumber and diner waitress.

Elliot wasn't planned, and his arrival only worsened their financial burdens. But the two did their best to roll with the punches, and moved in together into a little apartment in Vargeras. After he was born, his mother stayed home to take care of him whilst his father worked whatever jobs he could find - not all of them wholly legal.

School was the first place Elliot encountered the prejudice that his parents had to deal with. They urged him to keep his nature a secret, and he didn't understand why until a parent who had already worked with his father discovered that he was at the school. He was kicked out on the grounds of having a 'contagious disease' despite having been nothing short of a model pupil before that point.

Despite his parents' best attempts to home-school him, and regular library visits to try and work through textbooks together with his mother, Elliot's education remains somewhat lacking to this day.

When he was fourteen, Elliot's father was jailed for assault after a drunken bar brawl with a human man. Despite being the defender in the fight, he received a six year sentence after breaking the man's arm and his nose in the process of bringing the fight to a swift end.

Elliot has always had a strong creative side, sketching and painting whenever he had the opportunity. He's talented, but lacks the means by which to progress it. He currently works at a tattoo parlor, and has done for the last few years. Diegar, the owner there, has become something of a father figure to him in his real father's absence. He hopes one day to save enough money up to go to college, but frequently has to tap into his savings to help his mother with unexpected expenses (or even just making ends meet). For now, that future is nothing more than a dream.

Abilities:

  • Werewolf Traits
    • Enhanced Strength
    • Enhanced Speed/Reflexes
    • Enhanced Constitution
    • Enhanced Healing - small cuts will heal within minutes, deeper wounds within hours. Broken bones and more severe injuries take days or longer to recover from.
    • Wolf Form - full wolf shape, not hybrid.

Name:
René Hardy
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Species: Lutetian Human

Bio/Synopsis: René is Elliot's neighbour and one of his few friends of his own age. He lives alone with his maternal grandmother, Emilie, after his mother Jeanette was killed by his father when he was only two. In the last few years, Emilie has grown less and less capable of taking care of herself - and so René has taken on responsibility for caring for her. He dropped out of school two years ago in order to do so, and splits his time between working his two jobs at a local convenience store and a local diner (Lutetian welfare is sub-par, to say the least), helping his grandma out at home, and - when he gets the chance - reading.

He has aspirations to go to university to study medicine, but acknowledges that it's unlikely to happen - having dropped out of school. There are times when he's bitter about his situation, but he is careful to maintain a positive attitude outwardly - as much for his own sake as anyone else's.

(you're going to just have to ignore the ears until I can get someone to shop them out >_>)

Name: Luca Charron
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Species: Lutetian Human

Bio/Synopsis: Luca is one of the Monastery's orphans. He was abandoned by his parents when he was born, and grew up in a church-run orphanage. Even when he was young, he was comparatively solemn. He learned quickly that doing as he was told, quietly and without fuss, led to preferential treatment compared to those that rebelled (even in small ways). His calm, considered personality made him a prime candidate for the Monastery's recruitment, and at the young age of six, he was inducted there to begin training as a paladin.

Now, he is in his twelfth year of study. Though not at the top of any of his classes, he ranks highly across the board. He retains his relatively subdued personality, and where he might not compete with Inarin academically, or Izaic physically, there are few proselytes that match him for discipline.

Luca is fairly handsome, though his features are still more youthful than they are chiseled, and he remains slender as opposed to broad. He has a muscular and athletic build, as expected of a proselyte who spends a great deal of time in physical training, but is more lithe than he is bulky. His chocolate-brown hair falls just past his ears and to the nape of his neck in uneven layers, and his eyes are a bright forest green.

Hobbies:

  • Drawing / Painting
  • Archery
  • Guitar
