Secondary & Third Rings

Speaking of her knives, Schuyler snatched the backpack that not only housed them, but her whip and harness as well and slid it over her shoulder. She grasped the one knife that was loose and just held onto it in case it was needed. Snarling, she kept the Capsi going, trying to get the collared to turn on their handlers so that she and Robin could get the hell out. The sound of crashing caught some of her attention and she turned just in time to see one of the colllared being thrown through her wall. Damn.It. She definitely was kissing her deposit goodbye. Like she could even return her again. That pained her, but thankfully almost everything was disposable and her important things were kept elsewhere. She wasn’t completely naive after all.

Yelping in surprise when she was suddenly grabbed and flung onto the back of the female werewolf, Schuyler held on tight, not needing to be told twice. Glancing over her shoulder as her ride took off out of the hole, she took note of the handler with the tranq gun. Eyes narrowing, she concentrated and manipulated the tranq so that it nailed the wall inches from their location. Thankfully her skill worked that time and didn’t blip out or they would have potentially been screwed. She wasn’t sure what a tranquilizer would have done to Robin and was fairly certain it would have knocked her out.

“We gotta get somewhere and hide. The bastards are calling in backup.” Schuyler spat out what she was certain Robin already knew, but she tended to be Captain Obvious when under a great deal of stress.

Robin growled out at response that was mostly just a jumble of barely understood profanities. She rounded the corner, only to notice two more groups coming their direction. She dodged two more tranqs heading her way before turning the other direction. Out. She needed out. Traffic was in the way. So she did the next logical bit. She leaped on top of the cars and the buses and started running for the outer rings. With a straight-ish path, it was easier than anticipated-- Until one of the collared tossed a mailbox at her in the attempts to slow her down. It did as it was intended, but with unexpected results. The werewolf growled and grabbed it, claws sinking deep into the metal. With all the strength she could muster, she spun around and tossed it back at the collared, missing him, and crashing into a store front window. People who hadn't noticed the commotion before started screaming and running the opposite side as Robin took to the sidewalks again.

Another collared came running up, morphing as he did into what looked to be a replica of Robin herself, attempting to catch her by the foot if able.

Robin lifted her large head and let out a very loud, booming howl. After a moment or two, it was met with sounds from other parts of the city.

“Yeah, yeah, I know you know.” Schuyler grumbled at Robin as she turned the corner. Eyes widened at the incoming forces and she let out a string of swear words, holding tightly onto Robin with one hand while raising up her other hand just a little. Whatever she had planned on doing was quickly sidetracked when her bud was suddenly taking an unexpected path. Grunting, she shifted herself just a little on top of the werewolf, making sure to hold on when the mailbox was suddenly chucked at their direction.

“Fucking hell this is getting messy.” Snarling when one of the other collared suddenly because what she was riding upon, Schuyler decided enough was enough. Concentrating, the telepath used her abilities to send a variety of objects flying towards the handlers and those that were collared. She wasn’t lifting up any vehicles at the moment, but if shit didn’t change, she was going to move onto bigger things. She hoped the rest of Robin’s pack got to them soon before they both were captured.

Robin was panting heavily at this point, the stress and the run getting to her. The one who had shifted to her clone backed off with Schuyler's attacks. The items went flying into buildings as people scrambled to get out of the way. A gun fired in the distance and Robin let out a yelp as a tranq dart hit her flank. The handler's had taken to both the roof tops for a vantage, and to mobile transport to try to keep up.

Still she kept running. It was a desperate need now. The clone was slowly catching back up, getting better at dodging Schuyler's attacks. He was close enough to take her down if he took the leap-- That is until a very large black wolf pounced out of no where on top of him first. With a loud yelp, the clone was gone in an instant. Two smaller grey werewolves appeared by the bike the two handlers were on and attempted to take it down, but failed. They did succeed in getting them away from Robin.

What seemed like a small eternity, they finally reached the edge of the city and escaped towards the ruins of the fourth ring. Robin stumbled quite a bit, she wouldn't keep up long now. The three from before showed up and started nipping at her heels to keep her going. Just a bit longer. Just... A.. bit..

“Damn it!” Schuyler snarled when Robin was nailed with a tranquilizer dart. She snapped her head up towards the roof tops and cursed, hating that she hadn’t noticed the movement. Returning her attention back to the clone, the redhead let out yet another curse when he started to dodge her flying objects. What the hell were they supposed to do now? She took note of how close he was and prepared herself to stab one of her knives into his face and hoped she didn’t miss. Thankfully, Robin’s packmates appeared and one easily took down the bastard.

“Keep going, Robin. You got this.” Encouraging her bestie, Schuyler turned her attention towards the bike, but when two other wolves got to it first, she let out a deep breath. Now hopefully she didn’t get nailed by a tranquilizer. Thankfully they soon got to the edge of the city, heading towards the ruins of the fourth ring.

“Just about there, Robin and then you can sleep for a while.” Once again sending encouraging words towards Robin, Schuyler hoped that with her as well as the three wolves motivating her, Robin would get to wherever they were going to be safe before she collapsed.

The werewolf kept slowing down, despite the best attempts to keep her going further. The terrain had gotten rougher here as well. Finally, Robin lost her footing and went tumbling, head over tin cup until she rolled to a stop. She didn't get back up.

The three others came to a stop, the big black one trotting over to where Schuyler landed to make sure she was alright. The twins went to Robin and between the pair or them, lifted her between them.

Despite their breast efforts at keeping Robin moving, the dart was clearly winning the battle. Schuyler kept her attempts up in hopes that it would give the werewolf enough encouragement to keep going. Unfortunately this time luck wasn't on her side and before she knew what was happening, her friend misstepped and the world was suddenly swirling for the redhead.

"Ugh...!" Grumbling when she ended up on her back after being tossed off her rude, Schuyler rubbed her forehead and laid still a moment. Spotting the larger wolf approaching her, she glanced over to see the twins picking up Robin.

"I'm okay..." Came a lightly muttered response as she shakily slid to her feet, unsure if she was really hurt or not. "I assume we keep going...?" She inquired, starting to move forward.

The black werewolf nodded and kept by her side. They seemed to know where they were heading. About twenty minutes passed before they were surrounded by what seemed normal looking people with an odd assortment of weapons. The wolves stood still as a device was passed over them, but nothing seemed to be worthy of notice. Eventually they passed it over Schuyler as well, but nothing sounded the alarm.

They then were escorted further into the ruins of the fourth circle. And down.

Orion would find himself assigned to another handler while Darius was still on desk duty. The woman barely looked adult. She was about average height, but with how scrawny she looked, she looked about 15. She was, however 26.

She brushed a strand of blonde hair out of her face. "Pet #1, dear. Can you please explain the rules to our new pion while I get us to where we're going?" She said in a sickly, sweet way that made you want to punch her.

Zade made a silent sigh. "Yes madam Lilith." He turned to Orion, his hair turning a bright shade of violent red, his eyes blood red to match. Apparently his hair and eyes changed depending on thought or emotion on occasion. "You must refer to Madam Lilith as your highness or Madam Lilith. You must do what you are ordered to do without question. If you question anything, you will be punished." He gave Orion a look that spoke volumes at that. "You must not talk back to our lady. You're only under her control for a short time, but if you do not follow her rules, your punishment will last well after you do not belong to her. Do you understand, pion?" He asked.

To say he was unimpressed that he once again was with another trainer was putting it lightly. He was peeved and seriously felt like punching something or drowning someone. This was especially the case since she was incredibly infuriating with her disgustingly sweet voice. Unfortunately, he promised Darius he would be more responsible when pissed. To make matters worse, he was also stuck with Zade. He was still irked that he was thumped by the hair coloring collared, and wanted to beat on him but knew it was pointless. Snorting when called a pion, Orion rolled his red eyes.

Vaguely listening to Zade, Orion managed to keep from flipping off both him and the handler. His jaw clenched while fingers on his right hand curled into a tight fist. He barely made it through his time with Morrigan. Lilith seemed way worse. Teeth ground hard to keep from saying anything, it clear to anyone looking at him just how hard he was restraining himself. When called a pion a second time, this time by Zade, he snapped.

"Fuck you, Zade. Don't you ever call me that again. You're not above me and never will be." He went as far as to flip off Zade before crossing his arms against his chest, refusing to answer. There was no way in hell he was referring to Lilith in that manner.

Zade gave Orion a flat stare, the tops of his hair turning a brighter red. "That language is not to be used around Madame Lilith. Refrain from speaking in that manner, Pion, or have your mouth washed out." He stated flatly, with a look giving him a warning. Not from him, but from Lilith.

"This one has quite the temper." Lilith tut'ed. "We'll get it out of him. I expect a temper from a pyromancer, but a hydromancer is unusual. Regardless, we're going to the boarder to help escort some guests into our lovely city. Isn't it wonderful?! They're bringing their own collared this time. I heard they are all quite exquisite!"

"Fascinating, Madam Lilith." Zade commented. He finally turned his gaze away from Orion to stare outside as the city passed. It was a longing expression as they passed the shopping district. Lilith looked in her rear view mirror towards Orion. "You've been given the privileged of escorting beautiful pets, even though you failed so horridly last time. You should be honored."

Amaryu Setter was never one for nonsense. And this show of force that the upper government was doing, she felt, was utter nonsense. She and her ward, Seren Castell, were sent with a few others to help escort some of their neighboring countries' officials to the main city, but they had brought their own wards. This was nothing but a show of force, a gamble to try and not lose face with their rivals especially since there were rumors circling around.

Amaryu stared out the window as their driver turned down another street.

"Seren, I will expect the utmost excellence out of you today, in both behavior and performance. I'm sure we'll be picked at the dinner tonight to help entertain our.. guests." She had to refrain what had originally had been about to spill out. "I hope you don't disappoint me. Do you have any questions?"

Across from Amaryu, Seren gazed out the window on his side of the vehicle, watching the city blur by. There was a strange feeling in the air, like the uneasy sense of calm before the storm. It had been building for several weeks now. It had built up in the way the handlers brows were furrowed more often now than not, in the way that orders and information from their superiors came without context or explanation. Something was coming. What it was, Seren did not know. But whatever it was, he had a feeling that the world was going to change when it came.

Until then, however, he was content to wait and see where the cards fell.

He turned to look across at Amaryu as she spoke, golden eyes regarding her in contemplation. "What do we know of these ... guests?" he inquired, hesitating a moment over the term given Amaryu's own pause. "And are we expecting any trouble?"

Amaryu was silent as she thought of how to answer him. She was never particularly cruel to her wards, unless they were unfortunate to fail her. The dark skinned woman sighed and leaned her chin on the palm of her hand. "Our guests are our next door neighbors, so to speak. They value beauty over anything else, and exotic things are beautiful to them. They are also insufferable liars with a scheme always at hand. This arrival was actually our idea, but I wouldn't put it past them that they've got something up their sleeve to screw us some how." She muttered.

"Always expect trouble from a Gaborian." She told Seren. "But there is also the little issue with things in the fourth ring too. The rats might be hungry enough to come out then too."

Orion rolled his eyes at Zade and raised a single finger up towards him, flipping him off a second time. He did refrain from saying anything however, but it was a very difficult task for him. His gaze slowly shifted towards Lilith and his red eyes narrowed dangerously towards her. He almost dared her to try and break him. There was no way this handler was going to get his temper out of him. There was something brewing deep inside of him causing the temper and while he knew he should explore, he wasn’t willing to do that yet.

“I dare you,” Orion whispered to Zade, daring him to wash his mouth out with soap. His gaze shifted once again to Lillith and he just glared at her, pissed at how she was speaking to him. Maybe he had an issue with female handlers. He did note the longing look Zade gave the shopping district, but he didn’t say anything concerning it. Exhaling deeply, Orion tuned into the mission and found himself growling low at her words.

“I didn’t fail last time. We got screwed and lied to. Don’t speak about things you don’t know about. You weren’t there. You have no idea what happened.” He snarled out his words, jaw clenching tightly. “Furthermore, I have a temper because of things you’ll never understand because you are privileged.” With that said, he shifted his gaze out of the window, glaring angrily at the scenery. Why were they bringing guests into the city? It didn’t make sense and he just realized that stupid things were continuing to happen without any rhyme or reason.

"Then I will make sure to be on watch for either rats or trickery," Seren answered with a nod of acknowledgement.

That was all he said, before settling back in to watch the scenery roll by in silence. It mattered little to him, beyond the requirements of his role, what these guests thought of them. He would do as was needed, and no more. Hopefully, the rebels would not choose now to make a move. He had no desire to raise his hand against them, but neither would he hesitate to do his duty.

He was curious as to what these foreigners wanted with their city. If the visit had been their idea, then clearly they had some plan or goal in mind. Perhaps it was simply a diplomatic affair, or perhaps it was something else. Such things were, most likely, not for them to know. Whether or not it was connected to the sense of building tension in the air, he did not know.

So many questions, with so few answers. No matter. All would become clearer in time. They had waited for this long - a little longer wouldn't hurt.

Zade's attention snapped back to Orion with a glare. As Orion was speaking back to Lilith, a small portal opened just in front of the boy's mouth, shooting water and soap suds into the kid's mouth full blast. Who knows where the other side of the portal was to grab it, though they did just pass a restaurant and it would taste of grease and food bits as well.

Lilith smirked at the sight. "Oh, but you did fail. Your mission was to catch a fugitive female werewolf and her little friend. I didn't see a female werewolf in the brig this morning~" She chuckled softly. "Its funny, though. That little friend of hers is a model, rather beautiful one. At least, that was who owned the apartment. She's suspected to have powers too, though its hard to say.. She had lovely red hair too. Much like yours, I think." Her grin widened.

"Yes, I'm privileged. I know, I know. I've been given an honorable position to make sure you pets keep in line and don't hurt anymore people. In which I'm terribly grateful for the opportunity. But I do know tempers. I'm ashamed to admit that on occasion.. I may let out a teensy-weensy bit of it out on occasion. A couple of my pets have ended up in a bad way.. Just a couple. The healers are sure they'll be able to walk again eventually~"

Yeah, he should have seen that coming. While Orion knew he shouldn’t egg on Zade, he couldn’t help himself. It wasn’t that he was flirting because while he wasn’t sure what way he truly swang, he knew Zade had a boyfriend. No, there was something else that was causing this kind of reaction and he really needed to figure it out quickly. Spitting out the soapy water that tasted like the food he hadn’t had since he was a kid, Orion didn’t care who he got wet, if anyone. Returning his gaze back to Lilith, he snorted at her, though that snort quickly died out as his face portrayed a plethora of other emotions at her words. It wasn’t that he was being dissed, or the fact that the had been sent to capture a female werewolf and got a male instead. No, it was the fact that she mentioned Schuyler. He was completely sure her description was of his twin and he clenched his fists tightly. Snarling low in his throat, he leaned forward, ignoring the threats.

“You can go fuck yourself, bitch. I would never bring my sister in, even if it meant my death. She doesn’t have powers and was probably just in the wrong place at the wrong time. You know NOTHING of her and if you even try to touch her, I will take extreme pleasure in ripping your fucking pretty head off your fucking shoulders.” Snarling again, he narrowed his eyes dangerously.

Silence followed. Zade turned rather pale, almost translucent and looked at Orion in horror. If only the kid knew what he had done. Slowly the car turned out of the city in the very tense and uncomfortable silence and the other boy looked as if he'd rather be anywhere but where he was. Finally the car came to a stop and Zade whimpered.

"So she's your sister, is she? I wasn't aware of the fact. Thank you for that tid bit of information." The woman said, an eerie calm in her voice. "I'm sure now, the high ups would rather you alive as they use you as bait to lure her out.. But I'm sure you'll be even more of a temptation to rescue if you looked a bit more.. Pitiful."

The doors locked on either side of Zade and Orion's side of the car. "Stay put boys~"

"No no no, my lady! Please don't punish me! I didn't say anything!! I did tell him not to! Please no no!" Zade begged, tears rolling down his cheeks.

Lilith stepped out of the car and slowly walked around to the trunk. She popped it open and began rummaging around in the back, looking for something. All the while Zade remained where he was, but continue to weep, both his eyes and hair going white in fear.

Amaryu had remained silent all the while during the car ride, staring out of the window in a rather bored fashion. It was because of this, she noticed the stopped government car with Lilith in the trunk. The woman made a disgusted sound. "Of course they'd send Lilith." She grumbled. "And it looks like she's about to punish her wards again. I just hope that she leaves marks that can't be seen by our guests.."

Amaryu was a higher up in the command. Although Lilith wasn't her equal, it would seem Lilith was untouchable because the head of their chain liked being between her legs too much. It was known that she had killed at least two other wards with her own bare hands and made it look like accident. It was all swept under the rug.

"Count your blessings I'm not that cruel, kid." She muttered to Seren.
