"Back to our regularly-scheduled programme!"

Purified Pummelgum laughs as he rushes forward to exchange stretchy, elastic punches and kicks with Pomada. While the evil personality was resting, he still had his aggression and urge to fight, since he still held the Purified body.

"Now that's more like it! Ohohoho!"

Pomada did the same, flinging punches and kicks at similar speeds to have them locked in a punching clash. "You're really strong, and yet you only recently became this form. You really do have as much potential as me..." She exclaimed.

The kick connected sending Barda sliding over the ground. Sloppy, she had let her guard down against him. She got back up to face her opponent wiping away the dirt from her face. "Speed isn't everything you know." This time Barda went on the offensive trying to get two punches into Gohan's stomach before slamming her elbow down on his neck.

Gohan responded by blocking the two punches but was unable to counteract the Elbow to the neck attack and was sent back again. "Not bad... Seems I still have a lot still to learn. Guess I should consider this more training, but with the fate of the world at stake!"

"This is a fight, not training, boy!"
Barda once again went on the offensive firing off another punch combo as she tried to get around Gohan and get him into a choke hold to try and try to cut the oxygen flow to his brain and knock him out.

"I really appreciate the compliment!"

During this barrage, Purified Pummelgum creates a hand on his belly to blast Pomada away with a close-range ki blast. This caused them both to be knocked away from each other.

As he rolled away, Purified Pummelgum regained momentum, unleashing a Candy Ray upon Pomada to turn her into a meat sub sandwich! If successfully, he would stretch his limb to grab it, take a couple big bites, then toss the sandwich to the side, before it turns back into Pomada, still in one piece, in a puff of pink smoke.

Purified Pummelgum assumes a fighting stance once more, ready to take Pomada's next move.

"...Heh."

Shiori smirked as her punch was caught, stopped dead in its tracks as the younger girl found the right timing with the strength to back it up. The other girls that she knew tended to be the types that meddled with spells or non-combat specialties. It wasn't often that she met a girl who was the brute force type, much less one so young. Electing not to move, she took Gully's return fire head on.

And didn't budge an inch.

No matter the amount of power in the young girl's fist, it was meaningless against Shiori. Attacks that flattened entire mountain ranges couldn't bypass a Gudou God's defenses. But even still, as a martial artist it generally made much more sense to dodge attacks rather than take them head on, if for nothing else than pride. So then why had she chosen to take that punch? The answer was simple, to punish her own hypocrisy. Forcing her caught arm back, Shiori returned fire with a punch of her own.

"As you wish."

Finally deviating from such basic methods, she unleashed a bit more of her power. Though she struck forward with only one fist, multiple possibilities gathered at her target's location. A fist attacked from behind. Above. Below. Left. Right. A single punch surrounded Gully from all sides, aiming to get around her guard through sheer numbers!

@Hahli Nuva

Gully shoved Shioro back, reacting with speed that was clearly supernatural. She managed to block the first few punches, but some of the blows from behind and to her left struck home. Gully was sent sprawling to the ground, but picked herself up anyway, none the worse for wear.

The adorable girl decided to launch her own offensive, the magic power of Aramus coursing through her veins. Even if she went down, she'd be damn sure to go down fighting. That being said, she was sure Shiori herself had limits ofher own. Nobody was invincible, after all.

Gully charged frowards, closing the gap between them and threw jabs and hooks that would make a champion boxer blush.

She wasn't done. Not by a long shot.

Cerin Cornine

Cerin knew that just because everything was going his way, that did not mean that things were going to continue to go his way. He would be a fool to let his guard down in a battle. Yes, he had caught his opponent off-guard, but that was only for now. It was a temporary thing. He had temporarily made the match harder for Cole, but he doubted that the meta was done with his tricks. Yes, he may have died from that, but he had battled phoenixes and people who could regenerate. Just because you knocked someone down did not mean that they couldn't get back up. If he was playing chess, he had gotten Cole into check, but there were still moves left before he hit checkmate.

There was one step and then there was another one.

He took a deep breath and he had learned that sometimes you had to make sure that things were done before you let go. Even in the world was perfect and Cole had died when he had shot him first, he would not count his blessings. He knew that murder was wrong and he also knew what he was. He knew that he was a sociopath. He had taken every internet quiz things and watched all the lists. He knew he exhibited all the symptoms.

It was funny that he knew what he was, but that didn't mean he wanted to get better. He was fine just as he was and he had killed people who had disagreed. He hadn't been above getting rid of people who dared to question him. But the question remained. If he knew he what he was, then was there anything to stop him? Probably not. He had been playing with others emotions for so long that he hadn't even thought what it meant to do it. He stopped thinking of the consequences of what he did. It was only when you were dying that you truly lived and living life on the edge was always his motive. He knew that killing Cole couldn't be this easy. Nothing was this easy. The easier a task the seem, the more it seemed to turn sideways. It wasn't that the world was out to get it because he was bad. The world was out to get out because he was someone who knew to be caught. What was the name that the heroes had used for him in circles about making people do what he wanted? Shadow Manipulator... it was a fitting name because they couldn't see the bigger picture of how he wasn't always the bad guy. Maybe he had a god complex, he couldn't tell.

Sometimes the path to glory was paved in blood or something like that.

He just had to wait for him to die. Each second that had ticked by made the situation worse. Each one had a moment of doubt that made him wonder if he had made the rest choice. Everyone would see him as a killer, a murderer, a traitor. Of course, maybe he could lie, but then again, why should he bother? Lying was beneath him and sometimes the raw truth was better. He looked over to see that there was some fog that was gathering and he knew that meant something was coming, Cerin Cornine was no idiotic moron.

There was a flicker. He knew that it was over, no matter how much he wanted it to be.

One illusion was not something he had expected, but he doubted that it stopped at one. If it was stopping at one, then it was a godsend, but he doubted that it was just one.

Another followed by more and more. It just kept coming and it didn't stop coming. He hadn't expected them to stop coming. He knew that his battle wasn't over and he knew that he would need to be quick about what he did next. He needed to be efficient and he needed to be smart. If he was stupid then things could end poorly.\

There it was, there was his next battle.

There it was. He had expected something stupid, so an illusion of a man was something that he had expected. It was true that he had hoped that the battle was over, but as said before, Cerin Cornine was no fool. He could pretend to be one, like he could pretend to be good, but neither of those two things were true. He was not a good man and he was not a fool. He knew that a new heart just meant a new thing to kill. He had been broken a long time ago.

If you asked him for a moment where he had broken, he would probably site multiple incidents, but it also stemmed back to one key moment. The moment he had found that Daniel Cornine had did the thing he wanted to do. The minute that he found out that the oldest brother had killed the woman who had abandoned him. Do you know what made it worse? His other brothers had each other, but he was alone.

" You know, I have heard many men that it would take a lot more to kill them and I had killed them each and every time, sometimes you think you are immortal, but you are anything but that though."

Cerin was not a fool and he had noticed that there was fog. The fact that he had used fog against someone who could manipulate the elements was dumb to him, but he would let him play his trick. He would let him believe that he was fooled, but he had been anything but. There was a reason he had spoken, it was to give the illusion of Cole knowing where he was. He had his doppelganger in the area away from the air, but he had been there, holding his breath and baiting his time. He knew that the fog mostly hide a broken boy and if he had to guess, he would be in the exact spot where he left him. He knew this and also knew that he liked to play his game and make him think he was being cocky and smug.

It was funny, but he had already chosen two ways as Cerin did something insane. He did a flip in mid air and in the same style that an action movie star would do the shot, he shot twice, but it was how he positioned the bullets that had been ingenious. He shot one towards where Cole might be, well more particularly where his head might be and the other was for the glowing form, a head shot as well. He also did one full emotional manipulation poking and prodding thoughts of death. It was the best time to poke weakness and to get him to not think. If he realized what he was doing, he would be out, but he had done a second thing with the flip. He had made it look like his doppelganger was going in for a shot to the head with just a punch. It was funny, but it would have to do as a distraction.
The commotion along the other side of the battlefield sent tremors across the battlefield, shaking Cole to his fragile core. He wasn't ready. He had hoped that the disorientation of the fog and lights would keep Cerin at bay a little longer - maybe even force him to rethink a strategy or two- but the man had a sharp mind, far sharper than he had anticipated. Will bullets flying across the battlefield and burrowing into his deeper into his hollow shells. The first shot would undoubtedly reveal the lightning titan to be a phantom. Every shot after that was a threat to his very mortal life; with the fleeting sparks of charge he had left, he could barely sustain the fog, let alone fire any counter shots. Hell, even summoning a shield would push him over the edge. He had to play it smart. He had to lay low. Throwing his over the edge of the arena, Cole crawled along the perimeter of the ring, suspended above the grass by a knee and an elbow. Any aerial shots should have been lost over the edge of the area, the very earth acting as a shield and veIl. Luck be a lady, the strategy should buy him some more time to heal, and every shot he wasted was a shot closer to Cerin having to reload, and the perfect time for a counter attack.

He dared not reply and he dared not speak. Silence would be his sword... for now...
Void Stiles

The Nogitsune had to admit that he hadn't expect a life from the senator, but he knew that it was best to not underestimate your opponent. Who was to tell what he was truly up too and he was smart enough to know that he wasn't going to be stupid about everything that was happening. He was happy that he had managed to do something that rarely happened. But he also knew that he was getting stronger with each second. It was funny that unknown that between Cole and Cerin, both were feeding his super speed and strength. The more chaos, strife and pain that was going on around him, the more he could feed on them. It was a treasure trove for him of misery and he was loving every minute of it. He was silently laughing to himself that none of them had considered that he fed off of more then just pain. The Mason kid assumed that pain was the only thing that fueled him, but the more crazy he made things, the more everything was going to get for him. It was funny, but everyone was helping him, be them knowing or not.

The Nogitsune could get angry, but he had been manipulating people for a thousand years, he wasn't going to fall for the same tricks that he had used for the whole time. It would be stupid of him to think of him as anything more than a kid and for once, he had thought about the face under the bandage form. He thought of the fact that underneath the monster's face laid the face of a man who he had taken everything from. He had to grin and he also had to prove Steven Armstrong wrong. It was a matter of principle after all and he hadn't thought about the fact before he slowly let the bandages fall. The Nogitsunes rarely chose the face underneath, he knew that he had seen him once and he hadn't expected what he saw, but then again, why not show the man underneath the bandages? He did have nothing to lose.

View attachment 3155

"Lemme start a round of applause for Harry Hou-fucking-dini. You're one step away from Harry Who-fucking-cares, son, but you're little magic tricks amusing at least. You gonna try pulling a bandage out of that mask o' yours?" He made a slow round of applause, each shoe tapping the concrete in a metronomic fashion. He let his nanomachines even out his pulse and lower his adrenaline levels, almost fully leaving his offensive mode and restoring the facade of the friendly State Representative. He needed to his opponent into a false sense of security to fully draw out what he was capable off; he had underestimated him once and let himself be made a fool of. He had no intention of repeating such a mistake. Letting his nanomachines stir and pace beneath his skin like soldiers in a barrack, ready for war. Should they need to, they could rush to arms in a heartbeat, turning his skin to steel again the moment they preempted an attack. His own early warning system was in play. Now all he had to do what wait and see what Nuke the Monster deployed...

The Nogitsune didn't respond, deciding instead to change the illusion around them to a forest full of trees. It seemed that he sat in the center of it when he finished leaning on a tree stump. It was weird to recreate the nexus of all the power in Beacon Hills, the place where all of the evil was kept at bay, the place where the first Stiles Stilinski and his friends opened a door to a world full of creatures that would be attracted to a beacon. Little did they know what they had done until it was much too late for them to change their course of action. He could easily punch him again, but instead, he decided to do what he did best when it came to everything. Give riddles to which the answers were true to the situation and that would surely drive the man a little bit nuts. Drag out the time until it was nothing but one punch to kill him. He doubted it would take too long with everything that everyone else was fighting. It would just take one death to let the pain change his powers and make them better. What could possibly be taking so long? He took a deep breath for a moment.

" Oh, you see, that was just a game for me. Actually, this is all just a game for me to be honest. You see, I love messing with people, but I'm not much of a fighter. Have you ever heard a good riddle? Well, I'll let you get a punch if you can answer the riddle and then maybe I'll attack back. I haven't decided yet. As for the riddle, It's shorter than the rest, but when you're happy, you raise it up like it's the best. What is it?"
He asked, leaning against the tree as he waited for him to answer. He could dodge him all night long while he waited for the answer.

The sounds of wood crunching under steel filled Armstrong's ear, stripping the smile from his lips. What a disappointment. He had wanted so desperately to hear the sounds so shattering bones, not shattering oak. To put it simply, Stiles was fast. Too fast. Even with his depleting stock of supernovas, the freak seemed to someone have the edge on him without trying. One moment he simply sat there, body propped up against a stump. The next he was behind him. He tried to counter with a spinning clothesline. The kid dodged again. No, he was no kid... he was...

"An animal! You're a fucking animal" The Senator growled, futilely clawing at the air behind the monster. It was thrilling to be on the front lines again, dragging victory from the twisted mandible of defeat with a level of effort he had not had to deploy in years. Beneath the fire and fury, perhaps Armstrong was even having fun if such a thing were still possible for the only man to have. The man who has everything- ultimate power, wealth, esteem, and soon, the greatest job in the country- in many ways, he is poorer than the worst of man. He had no struggle. No challenges. No need to improve.

And Stiles was giving him something he had been searching for for far too long.

"Alright! Ya like games? I'll play! It may not look like it, but you're looking at a Texas-U distinguished graduate" Slowing what had since been reduced to shadow boxing, Armstrong retightened his tie. It was no longer some forsaken noose dangling at his chest, but instead, a thin black hand caressing his throat. Even with the dust and ash from his previous fights clinging to his face like a clown's grin, an air of decency had returned to the Senator's form; the situation called for tact and class. It called for the art of the spin. "Let's seal the deal, pal. I get three guesses. If fuck it up that many times, and I'll let you hit back. By the looks of things, you don't seem like the best slugger on the team- even if ya have...forgotten to moisturize in a few years... old man or young, y''ll get a free clap-back for every guess that doesn't land" Another palm was outstretched "This 'Cell' fella would have us monkeys smacking each other with rocks to get 'im hard. But people like us? Men like us? We can settle things like ol' homosapiens, right? What do ya say? Shake an old sinner's hand?" He rolled his eyes upwards in thought. He might as well test the kids strength and take a surface levek guess "And my first guess is... that you're talking about a smile, right?"

As Maria notice the weapon of Mason, she quickly brought her other arm up, somewhat at eye height. What Mason more than likely wasn't aware of, was that Maria activated the Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System and targetted her. Silently praying that the Mysterious Stranger would somehow appear to her aid as he has before. She notices that Mason's chest had a lower chance of being hit than her limbs. This shouldn't be like that. She placed three shots towards his right arm, one to his left and two to his right leg. Once accepted, she opened fire. But because she wasn't able to dodge his attacks, some did hit her but didn't disarm her. Though for Mason, it seemed that Maria had an increased rate of fire.

Maria's shots tore through Mason's body, just as before. He collapsed to the ground mid-swing. Both of his weapons clattered against the floor of the arena as his body hit the floor with a thud. Pain surged through his body. No mysterious stranger came to assist Maria, yet she wouldn't need one.

Mason struggled against the pain. Any movement from his limbs brought a grunt of pain. He tried to stand up, but his right arm wasn't strong enough to lift him off the ground. The best he could do was rise to his knees and look up at his adversary.

True to Mason's words, the glowing aura that surrounded him lowered in intensity. Mason held his left hand out to Maria.

"Mind helping me up? I can't very well step out of the arena with my leg like this."

Lumine knew that, and quickly tried to twist his body away so that any damage done by Mordred's sword wouldn't be too bad. His shirt got ripped in the process, and there was a shock from the minor cut. Flinching, Lumine quickly hopped back once he landed on his feet and took a second to recover while there was some distance between them.

He would have to improvise, since Mordred was in armor and her sword would pose a bit of a problem.

@Gummi Bunnies
❝ I guess you're giving me the space to go next, huh? ❞ Mordred mused as she repositioned herself after that sword swing. In her head, she was sure that this wouldn't be so much of a match after all, she felt far more aggressive in a fight than Lumine appeared to be. Without much warning, the knight kicked herself off the ground, launching herself towards Lumine with her sword ready to be swung at him again. This time, she charged in more of that malevolent aura into the blade, making her sword radiate with a bright red light.

Once there, she attempts to get her sit on a bench, should any lacking, the ground. She then takes another stimpack and tries to inject it into Mason. Mason hopped up off the ground and moved into the stands. He sat down next to the trio of girls whose uniforms matched Asuha's.

"So, you're Asuha's seniors? I'm glad we finally found her senpais. Any notes on how the other fights are going?"

@Raynar Saassin @Crow

It occurred to Cole that this girl had no idea who she was up against. Her familiar might have been powerful, but he knew that a simple action on his part would render it completely useless. Not that he needed to bring out the big guns yet like she seemed to have.

Once again, Cole read the familiar's moves as if he had seen this attack a thousand times before, but this time chose not to try and dodge out of the way. It was not a bad idea to see what exactly this creature was capable of and whether it was worth any ounce of Cole's respect. The first blow sent a shockwave through him, Cole gasping in pain as he realized it was probably one of the most powerful physical blows he had received in his life. The second sent him flying, though Cole had enough wits about him to align himself in the air and fly back down to land on his feet. His body was already feeling sore, which made him smile.

"Wow, that's impressive," he said evenly. "If I was just some guy, that might have just gone and killed me. 'Course, I'm a Conduit, so I can take a little more pain than most. I can take even more pain than the average Conduit too actually, but no need to get busy with the details."

Cole then raised an arm into the air and conjured lightning to crash down around him. "Little known fact about me, electricity fuels me. Runs through my veins like blood. It heals me, you know. I'm not just a battery, I'm a goddamn lightning demon. But here's the thing I noticed... electricity I control doesn't have the same effect. Couldn't tell you why, but it just means I can't heal myself... or can't I?"

Cole could feel his pain fade away as he drew the lightning into himself. He started walking toward Aigis, electricity rippling out from him like he was a lightning storm contained int he form of man. "See, I got a lotta' powers you may not realize. Managed to get myself a way of producing electricity that has nothing to do with my Conduit powers, meaning I can heal myself pretty easily. What do you think of that, huh?"

Cole stopped and raised a hand to Aigis. Electricity pooled around his arm, glowing intensely. "I can end this whenever I want. I just hope you show me all you got before I do."

The older woman grinned as Gully got back up. She didn't say anything this time, but the girl was pretty strong. Not just for her age, but she was pretty seriously tough.

Falling back into her original pace as Gully rushed her, Shiori weaved her body and blocked Gully's strikes with her own techniques. A quick step back got out of range of a hook. A raised hand batted away a jab that got too close for comfort. However, within Gully's barrage of blows, one made it through Shiori's technical defense. Gully's fist crashed into Shiori...

And the image faded away like a mirage.

The Goddess of Possibility materialized behind her opponent. It was almost as if she'd teleported, but somehow that just didn't seem quite right. The world itself had almost seemed to distort, the very air around Shiori twisting and refracting like light through water. Shiori lashed out at Gully's back leg with a low kick without a word, threatening to completely knock out her footing.

"I'm observing all kinds of matches before my next one!" Asuha exclaims. "I'm thinking of how I can beat my next opponent, no matter how strong or smart."

"Currently, we don't seem to be able to figure out how to deal with Saitama, I believe he was called. His strength and skill is massive enough to hold a lance off with a finger. That is a huge problem for Asuha to overcome, but I have faith in her."

Mari points to Void Stiles' & Armstrong's fight. "Some people really love veiling their battles in illusions, so they can fight in partial privacy! The Audience can't see as much as the fighters."

"Woah woah, did you just see that? That's all kinds of cool!" Fuuran points to Gully & Shiori's fight.

"The very distortion of time and space itself. Perhaps such a power is an extension and improvisation of a greater, more potent main power."

"I thought it was just her being really fast."

"With no sonicboom?"

"That applies to literally every other fight here. "

"Noted. Noted."

Turning behind, she sees Asuha.

"Hey, Asuha, how long have you been here?"

"Just, Fuuran-senpai. Itsuki-senpai & Mari-senpai were wondering where you went. Did you just switch the channels?"

"Nah, I've been watching Great Saiyaman this whole time! Ahaha..."

"Mari-senpai suggested checking the news just now. Maybe we should."

"Yeah, guess a few minutes off Great Saiyaman wouldn't hurt. It really wouldn't."

And so Fuuran switches to the news to check the updates.

Chapter 3 - The Cell Games!

Several days have now passed since the intervention of Towa and her ways of altering history. Everyone was fully rested and recovered, and trained up for the inevitable tournament to decide the fate of Earth. Once everyone was fully rested and ready, after having breakfast provided by Bulma, Future Trunks and Co led everyone to the immaculate Cell Games Arena:

PHz9z6f.png

"Ah, they've arrived." Cell exclaimed as he greeted the party.

zRps1Uq.png

"Greetings my fellow Fighters. In case you hadn't heard me on the news, I am Perfect Cell. It's such a privilege to meet you all here today. For you see, these sets of battles will not only decide your lives, but the fate of this boring pile of dirt and water. So you'd best bring your A-Games, because the stakes have never been higher. Now then. Hmhm. It's time to begin the first brackets of the Cell Games! Jimmy, if you would." "Right away, Perfect Cell."

"Ahem. Now then. I'll need your names first. Can anyone provide me them?" "I can. I kept tabs on them in case your tournament required a bracket list. Here. After finding out who was who, I thought it'd be acceptable." Piccolo exclaimed as he had Gohan write down their names after conversing with themselves, and handed Jimmy Firecracker the list, who then proceeded to hand it to Cell. "Hm hm. Hmhmm. Interesting. Alright then! Here's the first bracket of competitors. Fighting will commence once both sides are ready. I will be watching and judging intensely. Now, go all out, I'd be disappointed if you came here only to let each other win just for a shot at yours truly."

"Alright. First competitors are:

Aigis Vs Unknown
Mason Moretti Vs Maria
Cole MacGrath Vs Cerin Corine
Stiles Stilinski Vs Steven Armstrong
Jak Vs Sandalphon
Ben Tennyson Vs Pomada
Kratos Vs Sakata Kintoki
Asuha Kusunoki Vs Kid Trunks
Gully Vs Shiori Kujou
Big Barda Vs Gohan
Lukas Vs Saitama
Annie Leonhardt Vs Piccolo
Specter Knight Vs Eliza
Wilhelmina Vandom Vs Beowulf
Lumine Vs Mordred
Android 18 Vs Krillin."

"Interesting line-ups here. Impress me. Oh wait, we have an Unknown Fighter here. I wonder who that'd be? Whoever is Aigis of the group, looks like you'll be facing a late arrival. Oh where could they be?"

"Looks like we'll be sparing together in this Tournament, Krillin." "I figured this might happen... I won't be holding back, 18. Come at me with everything you've got!" "That's fine. Neither am I."

"Well Ben, I guess I'll be finding out just how strong you really are. I won't hold back, not for one second. Come at me with everything you got, as I won't hesitate to unleash my full power!"

"Hmm. Figured as much. Alright. I don't plan on holding back, and I expect you do the same."

"Really? I'm going to be fighting this loser? Fine. Don't expect me to hold back just because you're a girl."

"So you're my opponent... I guess we'll find out each other's true strengths, huh? I'm ready when you are."

Jak eyed the arena and turned toward Daxter and frowned "Stay out of this, Dax. I don't want you to get hurt."

Daxter frowned, "Come on, Jak.. I can fight too."

Jak turned "Dax you know you'd have to fight alone, right?"

Daxter looked at the other matches "Them? *gulps* Fine. I'll stay out here, GO JAK!"

Jak frowned, looking for his opponent in the arena "So I guess they are ... late?"

@York
Sandalphon
@Crow @Gummi Bunnies

Sandalphon narrowed his eyes; the closest he could relate to these 'Servants' were the summons he saw Lyria, and in fact... The singularity himself use. Except, unlike summons, these Servants seemed to stick around much longer, and from what he witnessed, could most certainly compete with a Primarch, perhaps even a Supreme Primarch like himself.

With that in mind, he turned to Morded, eager to get back into their sparring match....

...

Unfortunately, the two never got to spar, which frankly made the Primarch quite mad. For one reason or another, they kept getting denied the opportunity, either because they were called to do something else, or simply could not meet up with each other in time.

When the tournament finally began, Sandalphon was itching for a fight, though... He did take note of the opponent in front of him; evidently, the initial duo decided to split up, for the safety of "Daxter", as the one who was sticking behind was called.

Eyeing his opponent, Jak, Sandalphon spread his wings, poising for a fight, but yet... Chose not to make the first strike, instead, seeming to be waiting for Jak to make the first move.

"Prepare to experience the full power of a Primarch!" He roared, a divine aura flaring around him.

Sandalphon was certainly powering up, preparing to give it his all, but on the other hand, he had taken up a defensive position for than an offensive position. This was the first time in quite a while he had fought an opponent that had some degree of compassion for others, after all..

@dark

Annie Leonhart
@Alex Azure

Annie just nodded, a distant look in her eyes before she headed into Capsule Corp.

...

For the days leading up to the tournament, Annie was realtively silent, keeping to herself... And only really showing her face to eat, and maybe sleep. The rest of the time, she spent alone... Training for the upcoming battle, it was after all, her mission now... Her purpose, right here, and right now.

Once the tournament began, Annie seemed to cringe a little, realizing her name had been mis-pronounced, but eventually shrugged it off, looking towards the green, humanoid creature she was facing off against, a native to this world. Perhaps this was a good battle to guage just how powerfull the locals here are; there were many things about this world she didn't understand, after all.

zU1aVPg.png

"Give me your best shot." She said indifferently, in response to Piccolo.

Assuming a combat stance, she seemed like she was preparing to land the first hit, but... The more experienced fighter might notice that she was in fact waiting for her opponent to make their first move.

Mason winced at the pain of the stimpak injecting into his leg, but it quickly began to heal, and within a few minutes he could move around again just fine.

"Thanks for the healing. I'm glad to get out of here alive and free of radiation poisoning. Though I'm a little disappointed I couldn't win, you are a pretty strong opponent."

"Guess I should be glad I have a desk job instead of a job that requires danger all the time. As fun as adventuring is, it can be tough to fight for your life. And in an infinite multiverse, there's bound to be a lot of things that can kill me."

"It's nice to have something peaceful to come back to. Day to day work may get dull, but at least it's safe and familiar."

"Anyway, Maria, make it to the finals for me, will ya? If I can't make it there myself, maybe I can say I lost to the champion!"

@Donder172

Mason hopped up off the ground and moved into the stands. He sat down next to the trio of girls whose uniforms matched Asuha's.

"So, you're Asuha's seniors? I'm glad we finally found her senpais. Any notes on how the other fights are going?"

@Raynar Saassin @Crow
"It's not just a job. It's about survival. I did not choose the world I live in. That was done for all of us when the nukes cames. In some waus, I'd wish I had a life like that. What we do is not an adventure. We fight for the good of the people that are still alive. Those are plagued by scum. I suppose you can call us police and military force at once. Be glad the world you life in and hope you will never witness that of destruction. Because I doubt there will be vaults to protect you." Maria said towards Mason as she took off her helmet. "Also, we lack a lot back home. For example, before I came here, I haven't had a shower since I left Vault 101. That was years ago."
"I will do what I can. I do not know if I will be fighting Cell, but I am more than certain I will try my damn best. Hmm... just missing GNR with Three Dog right now."

She followed Mason and joined the rest.

"Mason, meet my seniors," Asuha says, "Mari-senpai, Itsuki-senpai, Fuuran-senpai, this here is Mason."

"Yo! You doing good? Mitsurugi Fuuran here!"

"Mason, that was an impressive match. I just hope you're free from the Radiation poisoning," Itsuki adds as she tips her glasses. "It seems that every other fight presented here is on a whole different scale."

"Noted. Noted."

"I think the robot lady's preparing to lose," Fuuran points to the fight between Gruff-Cole & Aigis.

"I doubt it. Surely like he does, she has more in her arsenal than she lets on."

jHUaqdn.png

"That Gruff Sparky man seems really intimidating. What if I face him? He has a lot more feats than I do..."

"I'm sure you'll win if you're composite!"

"Did you say anything, Fuuran-senpai?"

"Nothing."

Maria nods towards the girls. "Maria, Brotherhood of Steel." She answered as they were joined by the rest of the squad, who saluted to Maria. "At ease." She said as the group took a seat.
Maria looks towards Itsuki "My advice, don't let your fear get to you. Try to enter the fight with a calm jead. I know it can be difficult, but if you let your fear control you, you will lose. Unless you have powers run on fear, then I say keep fearing." She said half joking.

@Hahli Nuva

Gully was familiar with mirages, and swiftly thwarted Shiori's attack by rolling forwards where her clone used to be. If there was ever a time she was grateful Knolan taught her how to anticipate her opponent. Now that they had some breathing room between them, Gully felt that it wouldn't hurt to have a conversation. After all, what was a good battle without witty banter? Red Monika lived by that trope, or so she said.

"You're not that bad, for an old lady..."

The two were now spread apart, both seemingly as equals. Yet, in the pit of her stomach, Gully felt something wasn't right. What it was, however, she couldn't tell.

"Mari... Itsuki... Fuuran..." Mason said, pointing to each girl in turn, "I think I have those names down. It's nice to meet all of you! I don't know much about honorifics, but I'd like to try. Does '-chan' work? You're all high school students, which means you're younger."

"Mason Moretti. I work for the United Universes. We're the closest thing the multiverse has to an overall governing body. Of course, most universes aren't aware of the overall multiverse, and that's okay. We just let them be. For those at are, we try to keep the peace and provide aid where we can. If your world is that desperate for resources, Maria, then I wish I could help it. This sounds like the kind of situation that the UU would get involved in. I can't make any promises though. Right now, we need to survive the Cell Games and get back to our home worlds. And multiverse travel is tricky. I can't just 'set a course for Maria's Earth' and arrive there. All I can do is let my boss know about your world. If it happens to be stumbled upon in the future, then maybe we can work on repairing a broken world."

"You three must be top of your class. You all seem pretty observant. If you don't mind a little rambling, I'd like to piggyback off what you've noticed."

"I've found myself in more than a few scrapes in other universes, and I always thought my powers were able to adapt to the world I was in. In most of my travels, I was the only outsider present. I didn't exactly have a point of reference. In other events that have brought people together like this, there's always been some sort of 'equalizing force' that eliminates superhuman traits and neutralizes outside technology. However, this universe has taken a different approach."

"Rather than powers adapting to the setting, it seems that any given universe either adapts to accept an outside power or outright negates it. Powers that normally shouldn't meet are allowed to, and paradoxically all function. A device that assimilates DNA, two conduits of the force of lightning, an undead specter, and a robot that can summon a familiar all coexist. Maria's stimpacks managed to heal me, and Macy's aura... er, my locket's magic managed to heal Maria. Rather than equalize by negating powers, this universe has brought powers to an even playing field."

"Usually, I don't have as much aura to spare in a fight as I did with Maria. Somewhere, I was able to dig up a fighting spirit to keep on going. Everyone here seems capable of fighting at full strength. That's what is most surprising. Asuha-chan, I don't think you need to worry about strength."

"Fuuran-chan is right. You'll win if you pull out everything you can. I don't think fights in this world are won by how strong you are. Fights are just as much a mental battle as a physical one. I lost because I slipped up. I let emotions take too much control. What I gained in power, I lost in defense. To beat Maria, I would have to outlast her arsenal. Her level of skill with her weaponry meant that my best bet would be letting her run out of ammo. Though that wouldn't guarantee my victory. Maria, you did jut as well in that fight as I did. You deserve a little praise."

"I think there might even be a way to beat Saitama. He's pretty strong. It would take an all out attack to scratch him, and good luck dodging those punches. However, there's one thing he lacks: the drive. He doesn't have the same will to fight as people like Armstrong and the Coles. Look at 'Stiles' and Cerin's tactics. They're wearing down opponents leagues stronger than them mentally. The same could be done for Saitama, though he's far too calm to be shaken by illusions or tough words. I don't know what could weaken him emotionally, but there has to be something."

"I'm kinda glad I got kicked out early. Now I get to sit back, analyze these fights, and maybe pick up a few new tricks. Maybe the next fight life throws at me, I should use a lance. Eh, Asuha-chan?"

Mason reached into his coat pocket, discovering that there was a hole torn in it by the blast of a certain lady's laser rifle. The contents remained in the pocket, but not without damage. Mason retrieved a red box of candy with a char-black hole straight through the middle. He sighed deeply and opened the box anyway. He took a piece of the candy out, finding it broken halfway down its length and glued by chocolate to three other half-broken pieces. He offered the box to the girls sitting beside him.

Aigis looked bruised, covered in dirt, and wounded. Well, wounded for a robot. Athena stood behind her, ready to fight. Aigis looked up. "Diarahan!" She shouted. Suddenly, she would appear to be fixed. However, there was a clear change in how she carried herself.

"You want to see my full power, Cole-San?!" She laughed. Her eyes turned a jaundiced yellow. Her Shadow now revealed itself. "Are you really sure now?"

"Atone with your death! This form itself is an embodiment of your sins!" She stepped forward. Her Persona morphed into a different one. "Palladion, let's finish this. Ready, Final Strike!"

Upon seeing Aigis' new form, Cole couldn't help but feel let down. He let out a sigh of disappointment. "Not really into the whole shadow thing," he said, shaking his head. "It's not even something I could use anyway. It's over, girl, 'cause..."

Cole discharged the electricity he had been building at Aigis, then turned his attention to her familiar, which was barreling down upon him. Final strike, huh? Cole could see it for what it truly was and felt there was no reason to let this attack make contact. It was time to make clear how futile this had been from the very beginning.

Cole raised his right hand and balled it into a fist. He threw out a wide punch, one that would make contact with Aigis' familiar as it attacked him. When the two forces collided, a distinct noise rang out and Palladion disappeared, leaving Cole unharmed.

Many courses of action ran through Saitama's head like electric impulses in his brain as he simply stood there, completely vulnerable to Lukas's charge for all intents and purposes. And then...

Tink.

When Lukas's lance made contact with... something, it wasn't fragile, squishy flesh that he had hit. No, it felt more like a metal or brick wall, unable to even make a dent. It was then that one could see what had happened; Saitama had only lifted his index finger, as though having caught the entire blade in his finger. From here, the yellow-clad hero had a myriad of options, the simplest being to deal with him the same way he would any other villain, but... Well, honestly, he'd feel pretty bad. He didn't want to actually hurt this guy that much, even if that defeated the whole purpose of being in a tournament, but...

Well, whatever. May as well give a show while he was here.

With just his index finger, Saitama pushed Lukas back with enough power to knock him several feet, not moving a step from his previous position.

@Takumi

C-1ChOZUIAAJbcr.png

"Hm?" was all Lukas could think to say as Saitama stopped his attack with one finger. Blinking in his mild surprise. Digging his heels into the ground once pushed back, the knight grunted as he was sent back quite a ways. He nearly toppled too, but kept calm regardless.

"Well, not what I had expected, but intriguing nonetheless." he commented.

@Ver

@Takumi

Lumine would let Mordred get close, and once she swung her sword, he would attempt to move out of the way to grab her by the arm and throw her over his shoulder into the floor with a grunt.

Mason almost choked on his Pocky as he watched the fight between Aigis and Gruff-Cole. He used his aura to check what his eyes and ears old him.

"Aigis, did she just... Did Aigis just... What is that? That was a giant spike of power. I feel darkness rising in her soul. It feels like it isn't even Aigis anymore. I can imagine a lot of people powering up through dark emotions. Maybe her opponent, but not Aigis herself."

"And Gruff-Cole... He has some mad power of his own. I can't place where his powers come from. Like Ben and I, I think he's picked up a few tricks of his own from other worlds. He shrugged off Aigis's final strke and managed to kill her apparition. If she doesn't stop now..."

Mason stood up in the stands and called out,

"AIGIS! This isn't you! This fight isn't worth giving up your self, and it's definitely not worth giving up your life!"

"What would Minato think?"
