Prologue

The Realm of magic and the Realm of humans combined many millennia ago. Everyone in the land of lon ayraith'sz shaekr knew of the story of the Realms combining… However, the truth has been buried under lies and deception. Only the shifters and Oceanids knowing the truth

The combining of realms did not come through an accident of magic like the false prophecies foretold. They were combined by the mother of magic... a woman buried and hidden by the elders. The woman who created magic itself and blessed the humans and many different creatures with their abilities. However, there is a prophecy carved into the tomb of the mother of magic…

In the year of the mother’s blind
A daughter of life will come to the eyes of the beast
Of hard trials and bold blood will she find the truth of her descendancy.
She will bring forth a new age of magic
Bringing forth a unity of forces yet to be foreseen
May she gain allies
Blessed Be

This is where our story will be starting, Blessed by weary travelers

A young girl with ivory skin and deep auburn hair lay in a crumbling cabin, the remnants of a village surrounding her. There were char marks snaking up and down the roads as well as the homes of the families she grew up with. Slowly she would pull herself from the ground onto her knees as she leaned forward and sat on her calves.

A dull throbbing rang through her head. She winced as she ran her hand across a wet patch near her temple. Bringing her fingers in front of her she would shiver seeing blood. She noted more pain in her legs and chest as her dim violet eyes would meander over her surroundings, the pain seeming to vanish as panic took hold of her fatigued mind.

“Mother!”Her voice croaked, stumbling to her feet she would trip over herself as she scampered through the pieces of singed wood and blackened stones. A glint of light caught her attention. A feeling of despondency welling in her chest as she looked closer.

Just barely poking out from a pile of rubble would be the upper body of a middle-aged woman with fair skin and bright scarlet hair, the color slightly muted by the debris of dirt. She would rush over falling to her knees in defeat as her fears were confirmed. A choked sob broke from her chapped lips, reaching out with shaking hands she would cup the face of the woman. Tears sliding down her dirt-ridden face left cleared trails in their wake.

“No...no..” she would grit out through harsh sobs. Sliding her fingers over her mother's face she would close the open eyes. Slowly she took in her mother's features in adoration. The woman she looked up to for so long...The intrepid warrior who along with the men and women of her village had fought many battles against monsters who would assail their village, Always acquiring victory and returning home with a smile.

With great effort, she did her best to make her mother’s features permanently engraved in her memories. The woman's milky virtually translucent skin contrasted well against the once life-filled emerald orbs framed by thick ocular lashes. Her mother's face had healthy plumpness to it, with well-defined cheekbones bringing attention to the freckles that covered her face. A memory would flicker throughout the girl's mind.

“Nara! Nara dear comes down” Her mother called from below. A young Nara was perched on a thick branch of a healthy Dragon tree. She had shimmied her way up the tree, grasping onto the knots and indentions in the sturdy trunk. As a child Nara’s auburn hair had a few golden blond streaks to it, The hair color coming from her father she had never known.. Nara sat on the branch her plum-colored tunic torn, the dark violet pants smudged with dirt. A pout would form on Nara’s rosebud-colored lips, her rosy cheeks puffing out as she inhaled and let out a deep groan.”But mommy! The flower garden looks so pretty from up here!” A lively giggle would spill from her mother’s plump lips” I know darling... But the view is much better together is it not?” Thinking of her mother's words Nara would slowly make her way down running and jumping into her mother's awaiting arms, giggling as she felt the strong arms wrap around her small body” Okay mommy! Let's enjoy the flowers together!” She would laugh happily as she was spun around before being hugged close before closing her eyes, the serenity of the moment making her calm and sleepy.

Nara would sigh softly as she came to the present time, tears once more welling in her violet eyes. With great effort, she unburied her mother’s body from the rubble. Picking her up she would carry her to the flower garden. Finding a patch of flowers that were mostly untouched she would set her hand on the ground” Please part” She would whisper faintly, the ground crumbling in response.

Laying her mother's body below she would gather some flowers and place them on her mother's chest and reach down, unclasping the necklace around her mother's neck she would lift it before clapping it around her own.

Placing her hands on the ground and softly speaking” Bury her please, and let her favorite flowers bloom every spring” Bowing her head she would mutter a soft prayer as the ground closed itself over her mother's body.

Stumbling her way to the ruins of her house she would pick through the rubble. A sigh of relief came from her as she was able to gather quite a bit of her and her mother's belongings. Finding a worn leather bag she would slip the clothes and dried foods she had found inside. She would now take time to look over herself. She had multiple scrapes and bruises littering her legs. Lifting her shirt to her ribs she checked for any more bruises, wincing at what she had seen, a large bruise on the left of her stomach.

With renewed vigor, she would sloppily wrap her wounds after changing into different clothes and pulling herself to her feet once more. She made her mind at that moment...She would leave... And try to find a place to call home..or maybe go on that adventure her mother had wished to go on... Only time would tell.
