The City and Country

*Ah-po is how I refer to my grandma
* This was some silly poem I thought of while walking home once from school while it was raining -_- it was really muddy

When I visited my Ah-po's house in Ningbo
And
I saw the silver creeks running through the grey clay ground
And
The fish that twitched between the spaces
And
The grassy green hills
And
The blue mist that tickled my nose-I'd sneeze
And
The trees that touched the sky
And
When my cousins bragged about its beauty
I said
We have that too!
We have creeks too!
-our black creeks that slip through the tar roads
And
The ashes that bubble between the spaces
And
The choking smog of morning-I'd sneeze
And the
muddy hills lined with grey blocks and streetlights
And the grey skyscrapers that scratched the grey sky,
I stopped
And knew.
