Monster the Vamelfaer

Sells all the Shubi
I see you've picked up a copy of The Eclipse! Allow me to show you around!

This here is the newspaper, where you'll find all important IC news including plot-related events, current weather, and anything else that will affect the city at large. When this is updated, make sure you read it as soon as you can and take the news into account in your posts. Whether your character reads the paper or not is irrelevant, as everything included here will most likely effect them in some way or another.

Day 1 - Dawn

It's a beautiful day in Auroris; the sky is clear, (dyed a pale orange and pink marking it as dawn) the sun is bright, and the mood is even brighter. The Sun Level is preparing for the annual Sun Festival, which will take place in Radiance Park later in the day. Meanwhile in the Moon Level, business goes on as usual, though some have chosen to join the festivities up above for one reason or another.

Day 1 - Midday

The sun has since vanished, plunging the Sun Level into darkness. Reports say that Mors, the God of Death, appeared in Radiance Park soon after the event, and has stated that Sol is dead and Luna is suspected of his murder. Word is that he's collecting a group to help hunt down the rogue goddess, who could be hiding anywhere in the city.

In the Moon Level, people have begun to flock up the Dawn Staircase, eager to catch wind of this new development and see the sky for themselves. This is the first time in a millennia anyone has seen the stars; something many had thought to be a myth by now. But traffic is bad, and the streets are crowded, making it nearly impossible to get anywhere if you're not on foot. At the Docks, airships have been grounded until it's safe for them to fly. Many are beginning to install lights on their ships, something which was previously never required.

The air has grown cold, and steam has been rising from the ground non-stop. Both the Sun and Moon Levels have been filled with a thin layer of fog. The moon (now a waxing crescent) provides poor lighting on its own.

Day - Unkown

Darkness reigns over Auroris. Not even the moon remains. The stars have gone too, leaving the sky barren. The temperatures have dropped below freezing. The city is dead. Those who still remain are the sick and the elderly; huddled around tiny fires fueled by what little is left to burn.

Everything is silent. Then, somewhere in the distance, a cry of a newborn baby pierces the night air. A soft, yellow light appears in a window in one of the apartments. And a single, tiny, star appears in the sky.

A flicker of hope at last.
