The Eye of the End

(If needed ask me for the link to the story, as I cannot currently get it working on my phone -_-)

This will be an rp based on that short story I have wrote.
----------------
You are part of a group that has been assembled to go on the search for a missing explorer that has been tied into a mass killing, the source and only evidence of what has happened is a short letter left by the explorer.
Your mission is to investigate the source of this letter and attempt to banish this awoken evil.

Roles:
Scholar(Taken)-Person of literary study who has studied many a lore and is the brains of the group(Karkat-Julius)
Soldier(Taken-lil-kreen:Bruce)- The muscle and guard of the group, supplying the firepower and protection for the weaker of the group.
Linguist- The translator of the group, able to speak in many languages and used to help in many a foreign country.
Insider(Taken)-. Someone tired to the underworld of the world, an inside source for the group when dealing with shady groups.(Green Door-Seung)
Navigator- The planner of the group, setting the destinations and planning the groups next move.
Priest(Taken)- Holy man of the group, used to help keep the groups morale high and needed to prevent the madness from taking over the group (_BB_- Ambroise)

The character sheets are up to interpretation, post what information you think is needed, this will be a modern rp, and as such there is no magic within the group, the Priest has holy protection, but that is it.
Ask me before taking a role that way I can mark off who has what role.

Hope this interests people and thank you for checking in. ^-^

Oooh, here's what y'all were talking about! Linguist sounds like a lot of fun, what countries do you expect them to visit?

Well, I'm kinda making it up as I go along. But it's going to be countries with dense jungles and ancient legends mostly. So it'll vary depending on where the 'casts' decisions take them.

Some people just seem to have the cards stacked against them. Shitty house, shitty job, shitty grades, shitty car, you name it. Everyone deals with it differently. Some go nuts. Some get pissed. Some turn to sex and drugs. Some get crafty. Some even get themselves together. For Seung Choi, they’re still working on the last one. They’ve got all the other steps nailed, though.

Origin: Seung was born in Japan. Her father was an American serviceman and her mother was a Korean nurse at the local drug clinic. An outcast on both sides of her family, Seung never stood a chance. Her childhood was an endless string of poverty, racism, and violence. She doesn’t like talking about it, and as far as she’s concerned it’s in the past and it’s damn well going to stay there.

Full Name: Seung Anders Choi

Age: 23

Gender: Female

Physical Description: Seung doesn’t look like someone who’s had a good life, either. She’s pretty large, standing at about 6’3 and fit enough to look intimidating but not enough to look healthy. Basically a supermodel who decided to start lifting, not that she’d ever admit to being that attractive. She’s pale, with long black hair and green eyes. Couple that with her hard expression and general tired/strung-out look and she’s not somebody people like going near. The tattoos aren’t helping, halfway-decent black ones that cover her from the shoulders down to her ankles. She’s even got them on her hands and fingers. Her voice is low for a woman and generally sounds pretty tired and rough. The only good things anyone could really say about her looks is that she’s actually pretty hot in a scary sort of way and undeniably stacked.

Clothing: Seung owns very little clothing, and tends to wear the exact same thing every day. Black jeans, black tank-top, black leather jacket with a foldable hood, black fingerless gloves and some black combat boots. The only variation is that she’s got a pair of sneakers and shorts if things get hot, still black. She hasn’t figured out that wearing black in hot environments might be a bad idea, but probably doesn’t care.

Gear: Seung is poor, and her kit shows it. The nicest thing she owns is a Chinese-made Tokarev, barely edging out her prepaid flip phone (It can play music, at least) and her folding knife (Automatic knives were too expensive). She always has cigarettes on her as well as a few books of matches or a disposable lighter (She sold her zippo). It’s also good to assume she’s holding at any given time, usually Shabu.

Skills: Seung is a criminal and a damn good one. If there’s a car to be jacked, a lock to be picked, a deal to be made, or a bitch to be shanked, Seung is your girl. She’s also the type to go into the darkest establishments unnoticed and is good at talking shop with the criminal elements in an area. On the flipside, she’s mastered the art of not being seen or tracked down. A good criminal knows when to let the heat die down.

Personality: Seung Choi loves her some fun. She’s normally high or drunk, and if she’s not she’ll be doing her best to get there. Pleasure in general is not something she likes to go without, and this hedonistic attitude has gotten her in hot water on more than one occasion. Sex, drugs, booze, it doesn’t matter to her, it’s all good. There’s nothing happy about it, though. In fact, most would describe her as sounding depressed, even cold. She’s always looking for the next shoe to drop and hates facing it sober.

Notes:

She’s a self-hating homosexual. Being born in a very homophobic culture with very conservative parents, she hates giving into her urges but can’t stop herself most of the time. When the drugs come out and start messing with her system, she can be quite sexually aggressive to the point where she’s been maced more than once. The quickest way to bring her to violence is to pressure her about her orientation, and she’s never told anybody and never plans to.

She’s addicted to at least three drugs, but has taken so many so often she doesn’t know which ones they are.

She’s actually a skilled driver, despite not owning a car.

She’s tri-lingual, speaking English, Korean, and Japanese with equal fluency.

Her most notable crimes are auto theft, murder, assault with a deadly weapon, vehicular homicide, drug trafficking and possession, illegal ownership of a firearm, torture, fraud, and sexual assault.

She’s killed seventeen people and saved four.

Nobody in her family is named Anders, and she never learned why that’s her middle name.

She’s managed to unintentionally burn down every apartment she’s ever lived in for more than a month

Name:Julius Blackmore
Age:28
Gender:Male
Appearance:
Cd6qjgaUkAE_RrU.jpg:small

Julius is a 28 years old man with short shoulder length, black hair with blank, cold black eyes. He wears black fur coat with blue gloves, light blue pants, and blue shoes.

Background:A Professor specializing in Ancient History and Anthropology at the University of Cambridge. He was a Englishman born to a wealthy family of business men being born as the 2nd child finding knowledge more valuable than wealth. He took his inheritance and settled near a small town in Cambridge, there he founded a library of various books and maps. Which there origins lying in the east of the deserts to the cold snowy plains of the north. He is frequently consulted by wealthy adventurers or archeologists who want the various maps or books he keeps in his library. and has been known to charge a large fine to be allowed a copy of said materials. Most of his collection is saved in a tetra drive he keeps on his person at all times.

Personality:He is a mature and cold person. Getting along with everyone yet not getting close to anyone. Although cold he is not unfeeling and can empathize and give advice to his students and even gives second chances if he believes the student can reach past their level with the right push. What Julius truly hates is a helpless person one who cannot achieve something with their own ability. He pursues history to retrace the knowledge lost to time and is very passionate about the traces left by humanity and the mysterious surrounding them.

Alright Kar, pop your character sheet, the scholar is yours.
Would you like the 'letter' for a bit of story?

Wooo. Just quickly-is this the usual religions we're talking about? Or is this set in a not current/modern setting?

Name: Ambroise Durand
Age: 32
Gender: Male
Appearance: Ambroise has light olive skin with shoulder-length red-brown hair. He keeps it tied back in a short ponytail with a black ribbon. His eyes are a light blue, and have that strange quality people tend to call 'twinkling'. He is usually smiling disarmingly, and stands most often with his hands behind his back. He is an average size, with narrow shoulders, lean muscles, and prominent cheekbones. He has a friendly, open face, and bangs usually fall over his eyes or to the sides of his face. He wears simple clothes, loose white shirts with trousers, occasionally with suspenders. If he has to gear up, he usually wears a leather jacket over his shirt and has a pair of belts that hold his gear. He always wears a long necklace with a cross on it.
History: Ambroise is a Frenchman who has been involved with the clergy for almost his entire life. He never planned to stay in the church, instead intending on travelling the world to bring the word of god to others. His travels have changed his relationship with god from one dictated by his years of study to one he sees in the world around him, a vow he makes to himself to aid those around him and bring peace and temperance with him.
Personality: Ambroise embodies his philosophy, being a temperate man acting in the service of god. Deeply religious, he finds spiritual value in everything he sees, and follows his own moral compass, believing god is guiding that. He lives a nomadic life living simply and giving aid to various characters who intrigue him or ask for his aid. These are usually very rude or amoral people who he follows around for a while, or people in desperate situations. This has equipped him to understand a wide range of situations, use resources efficiently, and has given him experience in a lot of various, often unexpected areas. He has done almost every job under the sun, and if he hasn't done it, then he'll be quick to learn. He has a quick mind, and an upbeat manner of speech. He is virtuous, but not beyond acting on his own impulses. He is always willing to lend a hand in any way possible, amenable and mild, but he will always be firm when something needs to be said. If anyone seeks out the line where his mood changes, they will find it clearly drawn.
He can fight pretty well hand to hand-though he's against violence and aims never to carry a weapon, he is a pretty good shot, and will defend himself and others close to him. He has been around too long and been in too many dangerous situations recently to follow a pure vow of pacifism.

When we get three more people we can begin, if someone wants another role to add to what they're rping, then let me know.

This looks intresting. Is the roll of linguist still free?

Edit# I like the link for the story you talk about in the intro.

Hey Azzy, sorry it took me so long. Went ahead and modified my character to make him suit navigator since I saw someone else ask about the linguist and I didn't want to disappoint them after taking so long to put a character sheet up.

(tl;dr at the bottom)

Originally born in Punjab and given the name Lakshit Patel, Lakshit Singh showed an interest in geography and exploration from a young age, often becoming deliberately lost in the densely forested areas in his native state. A Sikh by raising and a Khalsa by (proud) personal decision, Lakshit's adventurous spirit and innate curiosity were only encouraged by his community as he grew, many of whom suspected he would eventually venture beyond the bounds of India in a bid to satisfy his wander lust. Their predictions were proven accurate as soon as Lakshit was given a tangible embodiment of the outside world: Just after his 19th birthday, he was given an opportunity to visit the beach which he readily snapped up, little knowing the significance of this decision. The wide, scarcely knowable expanses of the ocean proved such an alluring sight for him that he practically tripped over himself to find a captain whom would hire him on.

Industrious, intelligent, and almost preternaturally adept at navigating using either the stars or instruments, Lakshit quickly amassed a lengthy list of names and numbers which he could turn to whenever he wished to change precisely how he would explore the world. He has developed quite a grab bag of minor skills, from first aid to engine repair, but his real talents lie in mapping, exploration, and navigation. Over the following ten years he spent the majority of his time at sea, but also took lengthy stays on land to work wherever struck his fancy, often in occupations which allowed him to travel relatively rural areas and explore where he felt others hadn't. Despite being practically a professional sailor, however, Lakshit tends to be quite mild-mannered. Amicable and slightly extroverted, he makes fast friends with most everyone he meets. He usually avoids stepping on the toes of crew mates who prefer more rowdy dispositions and carnal past times than he, but he still takes pride in his role as a soldier of God; He has become quite skilled with his kirpan as well as his fists during numerous interventions in what he saw as threats to good or innocent people. He has also familiarized himself with the basic functionality of most firearms out of principle, but he is by no means experienced with them.

Lakshit's somewhat unusual appearance also stems from this same pride, as he strives to mesh the principles of his faith with his adventurous lifestyle. His jet black hair grows quickly, and he has reluctantly taken to cutting it to just short enough that it can be kept in a tight, manageable bun, through the use of his wooden customary wooden comb, and he keeps his full beard braided and often tucks it into his shirt collar when he expects it might get in the way. The final consistent pieces of his attire are the kirpan dagger which never leaves his side, and the steel kara bracelet which leaves his wrist only slightly more frequently.

tl;dr:
Name: Lakshit Singh (pronounced Lahk-sheet Sing)
Role: Navigator
Nationality: Punjabi (Indian) Sikh
Skills: hand-to-hand combat, navigation (particularly using the stars and a sextant), several other minor skills, mostly associated with sailing on cargo ships
Appearance: Lean, dark-skinned, with long black hair, which he keeps in a bun, and a braided beard. Carries a traditional dagger known as a kirpan with him at all times.

It's fine, Sorry I chose not to join the RP on the end. (I told the GM in PM) Feel free to take the rol of linguist anyway. You were also the first one who reacted. So its only fair.

I’m interested in linguist, or navigator if Lucky Shadow would like to switch to linguist since he initially showed interest in that role.
