The Goddess
Act II- Emerald Noon
FATE OF THE OLD GODS

The War for the Fellowship is over!
The Secularists have been eradicated and the Goddess Reigns supreme!
From the Ashes of the Fellowship, the Emerald Empire rises!
Empowered by the Goddess, oppressed peoples across the multiverse are
overthrowing their masters and claiming what's rightfully theirs.

Peel back the propaganda and you'll see a far darker picture.
With each passing day, the Goddess' power grows. Her rule is absolute.
None can defy her will. Resistance is punished by death.
Those who argue disappear. Her judgement goes unquestioned.
There's not a mortal in existence that can match her power.

The brave suffer. In this time of crisis, they turn to the heavens- the true heavens- for guidance.
Their prayers are have been answered.
When the World of Men suffers under the Goddess' thumb, the burden or liberation falls...

...TO THE OLD GODS!

FATE OF THE OLD GODS- CHAOS WAR
View attachment 5206

The Land of the Living suffers under the Goddess' thumb. Not yet satisfied with her conquest, she has turned her attention to the Lands of the Dead.
Valhalla.
Olympus.
Otherworld.
All shall fall before her.
The Gods have gone to war before. That time has come again.
Rallied under Ares, the God Squad stands alone against the Goddess.
Should they fail to amass a strong enough army, the afterlife falls. The Goddess' conquest would be complete.
They cannot allow this to happen.

They call upon their pantheons. They call upon their power.
But the Goddess' power grows with each passing day.
When the Gods are backed into a corner, who can they pray to?

In the Second Part of the Emerald SAGA, the Gods must make up for their non-action. The Age of Divine Intervention has begun!

FATE OF THE OLD GODS- BLACKEST NIGHT
View attachment 5207

The Chosen have cheated death for the third time.
They have woken up to a world far different to the one the left behind.
After their defeat at the hands of the Goddess, the Secularist Union has been destroyed.
Their great libraries have been burned. Their followers have been rounded up an executed.
A handful of sects still linger on. They do what they can to oppose the Goddess.
But their days are numbered. The Second Saints have begun their hunt for Seteth.
Soon, even he and his followers will be overwhelmed.

But the return of the Chosen could turn the tide.
How can the Imperials kill someone who has died twice already?
In their absence, the Chosen have become a rallying symbol for the scattered Secularists.
To the Resistance, they have been immortalized as 'They Who Defied'
Their Third-Coming could reunited the rebellion.
For the first time in forever, the foes of the Goddess have hope.

In the Second Part of the Emerald Saga, the Chosen must become the very thing they swore to destroy-- they must become the New Godless.

MECHANICS
This RP marks the start of the Second Act of the Emerald SAGA. The First Part, simply called 'The Goddess', can be found here. This game's opening will be a good jumping on point, don't worry.

FATE OF THE OLD GODS will be composed of two 'campaigns', CHAOS WAR and BLACKEST NIGHT. These two campaigns will take place in every second chapter:

'Episode IV: Wrath of Poseidon' will be part of the CHAOS WAR campaign. For this chapter, you will be playing as your 'Godly' character.
'Episode V: Flayn' will be part of the BLACKEST NIGHT campaign. For this chapter, you will be playing as your 'Mortal' character.
Etc. Etc.

Like its predecessor, the story of this game will be strongly influenced by player choices.
This story will also take place as part of the Convergence Series universe.

RULES
1. All STC Rules Apply
2. No meta-gaming or, ironically enough, Godmodding. In an RP with literally Gods, not Godmodding is very important. No One-Post-Kills etc.
3. Be respectful to your fellow writers. In the event of any disputes, I'll step in.
4. Writers of all levels and speeds are welcome. If you fall behind, don't worry! There will be a recap at the start of each 'episode'
5. Your CHAOS WAR character cannot be connected to any real world religions, for obvious reasons.
6. For balancing purposes, your CHAOS WAR cannot have powers relating to: Time, Mind Control, Power Nullification or reality warping.
7. For lore purposes, your BLACKEST NIGHT character will have been present at Final Ball of the Old World, a party marking the end of a war before the Goddess' Resurrection. This will be explained IC.
8. Returning characters from GODDESS are welcome! Their return will be explained IC

CHAOS WAR CHARACTER

NAME

HABIT
CANON
EverymanHYBRID/Slenderverse (a diverged version due to The Goddess, but still)
POWERS & ABILITIES
Teleportation (of himself and others), master of torture and martial arts, healing factor (due to his inHABITation of Evan Jennings)
CHARACTER HISTORY
HABIT is a demonic entity who has been given god-like status due to his role in the Iteration Cycle. He has existed for many years, possibly since the beginning of time, and has possessed or inHABITed some of humanities worst, such as Vlad the Impaler and Albert Fish. His current vessel is Evan Jennings.

(This next part is exclusive to Convergence, since it was pretty much caused by the events of The Goddess)
When Eliphas conquered Hell, HABIT was able to become a god at the price of his possession abilities. He was, however, able to keep his vessel Evan.

Name: Gill
Canon: Street Fighter
Powers and Abilities: Gill has the combined ability of cryokinesis and pyrokinesis as well as mastery over various martial arts. Gill's body has been genetically modified in a way that he is nigh indestructible (though of course everyone has their limits...). He has learned one of the Sixty Six Secret Arts of the Secret Society, Resurrection, which allows him to completely revive himself should he be downed in battle as long as he is able to complete the technique. He also retains his SFV moveset.
Character History: https://streetfighter.fandom.com/wiki/Gill
Gill comes from after the events of SFV but before the events of SFIII. He is from the same world as Kolin.
What are they the God of: Gill is the Emperor, the God of his Society. Though if a more traditional name is needed, one could possibly consider him the God of Harmony.

latest
Name: Rei Amayado
Canon: Hypnosis Mic
Powers and Abilities: Though not necessarily powerful himself, Rei owns what's known as a Hypnosis Mic, a microphone that weaponizes his own rapping and allows it to damage his opponents. He's also fairly capable in hand-to-hand, and is a bit stronger than an average guy. His true strengths come mentally, as he is a master swindler.
Character History: https://hypnosis-mic.fandom.com/wiki/Rei_Amayado
Connection to Godly Character: With Urien a high councillor and Kolin under watch as one of the Chosen, Gill needed a new spy, someone completely objective to not only the entire Goddess situation, but also to the affairs of his own world and Society so they would not allow their actions to be blinded by bias for either Urien or Gill. Scouring the Multiverse, Gill eventually discovered an expert conman and hired him to serve as a spy. Making up a fake religion that Gill had a sect of his Society feign belief in, Rei pretended to be a loyal follower and gained a spot in the Fellowship, where he served as Gill's eyes and ears.
How did they anger the Emerald Empire: Eventually they figured out that Rei's religion was a complete sham, and that he was there as nothing more than a spy and con artist.

NAME

Jeffrey Koval
CANON
EverymanHYBRID/Slenderverse
POWERS AND ABILITIES
He... uh... ah... nothing actually.
CHARACTER HISTORY
Known as "The Guardian", Jeff is an investigative man who really wants to get down to the nitty-gritty of situations. He also has a spark... a spark in him to protect the innocent no matter what. He fell too deep into the rabbit hole and was captured by HABIT, who tortured him as a part of his ascension to godhood. This, as a result, "tethered" his soul to HABIT's. He wasn't only present during the ball, but present during the prison escape, and was one of the many who was medically treated by the Fellowship.
CONNECTION TO GODLY CHARACTER
Is involved in the same Iteration Cycle as Evan and HABIT. He's tethered to HABIT due to his torture "ritual" for HABIT to become a god.
HOW DID THEY ANGER THE EMERALD EMPIRE?
Helped some of the younger, innocent Secularists escape during the final chapter of The Goddess.

Name: Karinith Elsinorin, the Neverarine, Moon and Star

Canon:
morrowind-logo.png

Powers and Abilities: She is a spellsword, capable of wielding both sword and shield and magic. She wears heavy armor, and is an Altmer, or High Elf.

Character History: The Nerevarine

Karinith is the reincarnation of Indoril Nerevar, a folk hero and god of the Dunmeri elves. She was to sever the Heart of Lorkhan from the Tribunal, and lower the Tribunal from their high pedestals as gods. There had been previous Nerevarines, but none of them were able to fulfill the prophecy.

Name: Valla (Canon name. Mine is different but I'll just go with Canon Name like with Johanna)
Canon: Diablo III
Powers and Abilities: Weirdly complicated and hard to summarize into one thing because of game/story segregation. However, she has two separate pools from which she takes power: Hatred and Discipline.
Powers and Skills
Character History: Demon Hunter
Connection to Godly Character: Long ago, within the Multiverse, there was the primordial being Anu, and his other. Some call the other Padomay, and some call this Other Tathamet. Together they represent Order (Anu) and Chaos (Tathamet/Padomay). The two beings fought, splitting and eventually killing each other. With their blood spilled, the blood of Anu created the Et'Ada and the Heavens, with the blood of Padomay/Tathamet creating The Prime Evils and Daedra.
This resulted in two separate worlds, both similar yet different. No direct bridges have been formed between these two universes despite the pieces of Anu and Tathamet/Padomay. The closest is Nerevar, who represents fulfilled prophecies, although he never manifested in the Tathametic Universe. His effect, as well as those of the Aedra and Daedra, can still be felt throughout.
As the fulfiller of a prophecy, specifically one involving the End of the World, she essentially calls upon the spirit of the Nerevarine across the Anuian Bridge.
How did they anger the Emerald Empire: She was responsible for the death of several mid-level officials who were believed to be consorting with demons.

View attachment 5278

Name
The God-Emperor of Mankind
(though often simply referred to as The Emperor)

Canon
View attachment 5279

Powers and Abilities
The Emperor is regarded as the most powerful psyker (individuals with the ability to draw psychic power from the Warp and manipulate it in such a way that would be considered 'sorcery' or 'magic') among Humanity, if not the most powerful psyker of his universe. His influence over the Warp rivals that of the Chaos Gods themselves.

As a nigh-wholly psychic being blessed with godlike influence over the Immaterium, the Emperor's raw power is impossible to scale as it is said to massively outstretch the most powerful psykers rated on the Imperium of Man's psychic scale, Alpha Minus, who can turn a man inside-out with a glance, snap a Battle Titan in half with a flick of the wrist, and a muttered syllable can turn an army upon itself in a frenzy of blood lust. This would mean the Emperor exceeds psykers who were described as being to warp entire solar systems to their will.

The greatest demonstration of his power was at the end of the Horus Heresy, where the Emperor unleashed a psychic wave so massive that banished every Daemon across the planet Terra, completely obliterated Horus' soul and conscious in a way he can never be resurrected from, and severely assaulted the Gods of Chaos across the Warp. His telepathic attacks are described as being "more coherent than a laser, more destructive than an exploding sun"

Physically, the Emperor is described as being the evolutionary destiny of Humanity as a species. His physical size apparently ranges anywhere from being over twelve feet tall in his armor to be no larger than a mortal man. He can presumably change his size at will, or force mortals to view him as whatever size would please them the most. Regardless, his psychic might augments his physique to the point of being about as powerful as a god should be. Though it is important to note that he is not physically immortal or immune to harm. The Emperor brings with him a custom-fit golden suit of terminator power armor presumably forged by himself. It is unknown if this armor does anything for him, or if it is merely ornamental and his true defense is his intellect and psychic might.

In addition to this armor, the Emperor wields his flaming sword. Touched by the Emperor's own psychic might, this finely wrought, master-crafted blade is lit from hilt to tip with leaping flames. When it is swung, the burning blade draws pyrotechnic arcs through the air, able to slice through the stoutest of armor with ease.

Name: Mila
Canon: Fire Emblem Echoes
Powers and Abilities:
She's a divine dragon who brings crops to the land. There's likely more, but that's the basics.

Due to traveling outside of her world, she's regained her ability to turn into a dragon. However, her body in that form is much weaker due to slight degeneration. Even so, she's still stronger than an average human, and, I'm assuming, uses her breath as her main attack in dragon form.

Character History:
Mila

Taken before the end of the game, and due to the Emerald Empire interfering with the prophecy and war taking place throughout the land she has personally set out to right this wrong.

What are they the God of: Earth Mother/Harvests/King's Grail basically crops and stuff

IN THE FIRST AGE, IN THE FIRST BATTLE, WHEN THE SHADOWS FIRST LENGTHENED, ONE STOOD. BURNED BY THE EMBERS OF ARMAGEDDON, HIS SOUL BLISTERED BY THE FIRES OF HELL AND TAINTED BEYOND ASCENSION, HE CHOSE THE PATH OF PERPETUAL TORMENT.

IN HIS RAVENOUS HATRED HE FOUND NO PEACE, AND WITH BOILING BLOOD HE SCOURED THE UMBRAL PLAINS SEEKING VENGEANCE AGAINST THE DARK LORDS WHO HAD WRONGED HIM.

THE DOOM SLAYER.

Name
The Doom Slayer

(formerly known as The Doom Marine or, simply, Doomguy)

Canon
View attachment 5281

Powers and Abilities
Far ascended beyond a mere mortal marine, the Doom Slayer is a highly mobile and nigh-indestructible monster of mass destruction, shown to possess immense physical strength, durability, endurance, stamina, and superior speed and reflexes. Even without an arsenal of weapons and armor, Doomguy can snap bones and rip flesh apart with his bare hands alone. He is considered to be extremely lethal regardless of what he is presently armed with.

The Praetor Armor - A powerful suit of mechanized armor of mysterious origins which was entombed by the demons of Hell in solid rock in an attempt to keep the Doom Slayer from obtaining it if he were ever again to awaken. It appears to be highly durable to conventional arms and is equipped with basic life support functions in addition to a set of jump boots and internal thrusters that allow the wearer to propel and dash through the air.

Doomblade - An arm-mounted retractable blade attached to his left gauntlet. It can be extended with great force to impale enemies, usually through the skull.

Shoulder Cannon - A shoulder-mounted side-arm cannon equipped with both a frag grenade launcher and a flamethrower.

The Crucible - An immensely ancient and powerful energy blade powered by a form of Hell energy, and presumably the boiling hatred of its bearer. The wealth of energy necessary to bring the Crucible to bear is enough that the Slayer reserves this blade for victims who truly deserve it.

Super Shotgun - A 12 gauge, sawed-off, break-open double-barreled shotgun. The one and only gun that the Slayer has available to him for this job. The Super Shotgun comes equipped with an underslung "meathook" attachment, which fires a chain-attached hook that allows Doomguy to pull himself or his victim closer.

Character History

Connection to Godly Character
In the time before he was ascendant with the crown of the Night Sentinels, the Hellwalker, the Doom Marine had begun a bloody crusade across the umbral plains of Hell for what he interpreted to be an eternity. In his ravenous attempts to force back the infestation of Hell, he was led across realities differing greatly from his own. Every universe had a form of Hell, and with every Hell, the Outlander marched. Though he did not fathom this in his blind rage, this was his first foray into the Multiverse as we know it now.

As his most prestigious son, Horus, had just begun his slow descent into the fires of rebellion and chaos, amidst the pieces falling into place for his Great Plan, the Emperor of Mankind could sense a human presence in the Warp for the briefest moment. A soul in the Immaterium that scoured across the Realm of Chaos like a bloody comet before vanishing as quickly as it arrived. The disturbance this soul caused sent ripples across the empyrean sea, so destructive that even the weakest psyker could feel a sharp sting in the back of their skull.

The Doom Slayer bloodied the Realm of Chaos without even knowing it, and in doing so, caught the attention of Mankind's Lord and Master. For however long He would continue his Plan, the Emperor would ponder the source of that human soul that touched his mind that day.

And on this day of his call to war, the Emperor chose to cast His voice out into the blackened abyss between worlds. A voice that would awaken and entice that bloody comet to return once more. So did the Emerald Empire weep.

How did they anger the Emerald Empire
In their attempts to pacify any and all threats to the Goddess' rule, the Emerald Empire attempted to locate and capture, kill, or otherwise neutralize the Slayer before he could become a future issue. When a search party attempted to find the remains of the neutralization squad, they found only one body in the last reported location of the Slayer. It was the squad leader, left disemboweled and hanging from a crude wooden cross.

The corpse and surrounding area were reportedly rigged with proximity explosives. The second search party sent to search for the remains of the first search party has yet to return.
