Equinox The High Palace

She looked at all three men and nodded. This would do. The fact was she thought the King was being a bit over doing it sending a Knight to investigate the reports in the south, but he insisted on her and as many guards as she could gather for it. If three was all that volunteered, three would be all she would take.

"Follow me." She ordered, turning to leave without looking to see if the others had done her bidding. Titanna was like that. If a command was given, it would be followed to the 'T', or she herself would release the punishment deemed necessary fitting for those orders to have been disobeyed. Despite having only been Knighted a short time, she had already gained the nickname "Flame-Haired Demon".

As she walked, she gave them the information on the mission. "There 'ave been reports in the South of some murders." She said. "There 'ave been way too many people goin' missin' and showin' up dead to be just one. The South's military cannot find an answer, and 'ave asked assistance from 'igh King Victor's men to seek the culprits responsible. Our order is to simply observe and gather information as best we can, and if we can bring them in ourselves, to do so." She looked over her shoulder at them. "I'm guessin' a group of bandits. Most people seem to have all their items taken when they're found.." She kept the other details to herself. The less they had to know and think their was any magic involved the better. Titanna may not necessarily believed in the folk lore of her people, but it didn't mean everyone took her side of the argument.

She led them to the stables and order the stable boy to bring four horses for her and the men. He rushed off without hesitation, but it could be heard the frantic tone in the boy's voice as he told the others. It was then she turned to the three men. "You are to be eyes and ears. We are goin' to try to keep the general population oblivious of our existence as best we can." She paused. "Any questions before I set you to get your supplies?"

Liam had given into his observational duties a long time ago. Boredom and monotony had a tendency to do that to a person, especially when that person had to suffer those things almost every day. He wasn't an expert, but he could hear when a person's holding something secret. He would've pointed it out too, if not for a few facts.

The first was that secrets are meant to be that. Secrets. Mostly gossipers and tattletales reveal them every now and then. Secondly, the person hiding the secrets is Tittanna.

Liam didn't really have any questions. At least, none that were important enough to matter. If anything he just forgot to keep something in his thoughts.

"Their own military couldn't figure it out? Geez, this bloke must be covering all their tracks. It better not be some sort of ploy."

Gattrand nodded as Tittanna went over the briefing, and then once she was done he replied "So basically we're on recon? Or investigate? Isn't that, frankly speaking, a waste of our resources? Shouldn't we be spear heading a hunt for this man, actively be tracking him down?". Though when Liam offered his own piece Gattrand simply shrug and chimed in "Maybe they're just lazy. A lot of the Military tends to get too relaxed when little happens in their area for so long". Regardless of the reasoning though, if this criminal found a way to allude the military enough to require back-up, it would likely be wise to step up their game in methods of finding them. Looking back to Tittana he then asked "Should we get a hound? It might be able to sniff up something the rest of us would miss".

"Actually wouldn't it be wise not to bring a hound?" Ron replied back.

"If we bring a hound metal armor and weapons we would be found out and most likely killed by bandits if we are outnumbered," he continued.

"We can't risk the chance of being found out," he said.

"We especially can't lose you," he said pointing toward Titania, "You are one of the best Knights. If war broke out our chances of coming out victorious would lower."

The knight leaned against the wooden frame with a sigh, folding her arms across her chest. "We are investigating due to conflicting reports. We could send the whole damned military, only to find out that the few reports of there is only one person causin' this mess is true." She muttered. "And if 'e caught wind of us? Assumin's 'e's 'alf a brain, 'e'd be on the way to Bliania by the time the army rolled in to search for 'im. We're takin' a small force to investigate. If we can deal with the situation just the four of us, then we'll deal with it. Otherwise, I'll send the report back that we need more men, and keep our eyes on the problem." She murmured.

"The militia there 'as apparently lost a few men to whoever is doin' this, and apparently the scouts they've sent 'aven't returned. People are sayin' that dark magic is involved, and that someone is cursin' the towns down there, and it's caused a lot of the militia down there to become too frightened. Instead of sending 'alf their men into jail, they requested the High King to help. In which our lord has graciously accepted." She gave Ron a look. "I am not one of the best knights, and flattery will get you no where."

"Bring a 'ound if you so desire. But we're leavin' in a few 'ours. Be prompt."

Liam sighed as he went off to get his equipment. There wasn't much to go off of, and it seems that whatever is going on, it won't be a walk in the park. With any luck, things will go their way, but with how things seem now, it's not likely they'll fund anything without a bit of difficulty, be it the search itself or something getting in the way. Still, he had agreed to join in on this mission, so he would have to do his best to help. He reached the barracks and asked another to fill in for him for some of his posts. This was going to take a while, so he needed someone to substitute for him. Then he he went to retrieve his sword and shield. Yes, having the two was a bit stereotypical for a person like Liam to have, but he always liked the basics.
