The Heart of The Party
9 years after the War against the Sacred Blood Cult...
8 years after the Witch - Wizard Dispute....
The population of this society has been weakened by the recent war......
The society divided by a great dispute against it's own......

Time heals all wounds..... But there will forever be a scar..... However, when magic is involved: what happens to the scar is a mystery.

It's been ages since he joined the inner circle. So many days of lonesome study, All for the sake of becoming one of the most well renown mages in the world. That was the description of the inner circle, the very goal of every mage. It was all they ever knew, It was tradition over modernization. This was the mage world now and the mage world forever. In these traditions held respect and honor for the whole society. So in a way the society was already modern. It is also in this society that he found these beliefs were worth following.

In the alleyway near the Mitch N' Witch shop Mr. Eisenrose sat there. He would come here regularly to just hangout before a match, And even to just chill out. The wall in front of him had plenty of graffiti. The one word in particular he was looking at said 'Warlock'. It was funny really - Did warlocks exist or was it just a punk gang name. When he would come here it was to just wonder off and think of such silly concepts. Though when he came here it was almost always alone. It made him think about the old man he once knew. He taught him how to use his chains better. When he learned of his magical affinity, he worried about himself. But the wise old man would always say something cheesy. The one thing that he remembered was when the old man said that one particular quote.

"A white sheep who lives in the shadows is not an evil sheep" The old man said.

"Ah. Come to see me off old man?" Eisenrose said...

But no one was there. The old man had long passed. The last thing he had left after his family died. It was about time to forget the old man. But he just couldn't, The name was easy to forget, But he could never forget a face. It was about time to snap out of it and focus. He started to prep.

He was sorting his vials for the combat to come, and swiftly sharping his mage dagger (The only non-magic created weapon allowed other than a mastercraft weapon). His favorite vials were elemental ones. They could be used to enchant his magical chains and save mana.

The time for preparation was over. It was finally time for his duel.

The story so far...

The verheerung family's estate was one of the oldest buildings in the area. There is a small garden surrounding the large 3 story brick building. It looked like some old church. Its dark exterior fit in well with the family line of work. They were the largest group of exorcists in the circle. Siegward just happen to be apart of that family. Exorcising ghosts was a difficult job and often dangerous but someone has to do it.

He was on his way to a farm that needed an exorcist. Siegward got an alert from the mage society that there was a possible ghost sighting there that needed to be removed. The farm is located just outside of the main walls of the mages society. It was terrorizing the cattle and had pushed someone out a second story window. He hoped it was not going to be a very tough ghost. He was not awake enough to want to fight for his life today. If its weak enough it should be easy enough to deal with.

With his hands in his pockets he walked into the arena. It was Inner Circle Rose's most popular duel ground: The Downtown Joint. It consisted of a long stretch of road that went down a street, and had four buildings long abandoned. Their were two buildings on the right, An old apartment building, It is the tallest of all the buildings and has a huge light up sign; And the pawn shop, a very small building that they left when opportunity arose. Then there was two buildings to the left, The Market, it use to be very popular among people who liked their food freshly picked; And the bike shop, A place that wasn't visited much even when it was open. They were currently vacant and left to rot. The perfect place to have duels. In the event a building did collapse, they were easy to repair, Though very costly as dueling areas are.

Their match today was a public one. Anyone could come and watch it, And many did. Today also was a special event for the entirety of the whole Inner Circle, Headmaster Galfrey said that there was a big announcement to be made today. All the Mages who came to watch were scattered along the tops of the four antique buildings.

Galfrey had emerged from the crowd, they all split like the red sea to let him get through. There he was, the legend himself: Glafrey. He was a very old man, no one really knew how old he was for a fact, though his appearance gave hints. He had a long white beard and long white hair, he looked like any legendary Mage should. He wore a blue robe that had yellow stars spread all over it, the universe on his robe, and his long wizards hat matched it. He was the Headmaster of the Cast Arts, There's legends that he has detached magic from his body for over an hour, most people can't even manage a minuted without some magical connection. The old man had really made a name for himself in the society, and the rumors showed that.

"First, I'd like to welcome everyone here today for this friendly duel! Today we have two great Mages here for a duel, Mr. Eisenrose, A well known mage who has spent hours upon hours of studying to master his magical abilities, A conduit type mage, who uses specialization type magic as his major; And Ross Firan, A student very new to our Inner Circle, who is young and has plenty of talent, He is a channeling type mage, and uses enhancement type magic as his major-" His voice quivered.

The entire crowd had started to cheer. They were always pumped to be able to see a magic fight in action. In this society there isn't anything like it.

"Ross! Ross! Ross"
"No name! No name! No name!"

The crowd had cheered for them.

"Quiet!"

But Galfrey had used his fragile, yet powerful voice to stop all the racket.

"-Yes I know! We all want to see these promising young lads duke it out. But first I have one of the biggest announcements to date in recent years. I'd like to introduce Valery Firestalk-"

A young girl around her mid-twenties had stepped fourth from the shadows. She had mysterious blue hair that no normal person could possibly have, Her hair was also long and touched her waist, which wasn't saying much, she was short. Her eyes were a light green, and she had an innocent looking smile. She was very attractive looking.

"-She is the first witch to work within the Inner Circle since the great Witch-Wizard Dispute. And I'm honored to tell you all she will be a secretary working directly under the Headmasters. She will be helping all mages find any jobs in the circle that they may seek. And may I say it is good to see our society to start to come together again after such a long time!-"

The whole crowd had clapped for Miss Valery giving her a very warm welcome. It was nice to have a little more variety in the circle. They haven't seen a witch work directly under the circle in 8 years, they all knew exactly the gravity this held in the Inner Circles community. It was a step forward in a society that has been stopped in place by all the recent conflicts. This announcement had probably helped everyone feel better about the future of the Mage society.

"Now, For what all you have came here for. The duel!"

The whole crowd had started to let out there cheers again.

"Now I can proudly say today's judges will be, Miss Valery and I, Now......Let the duel begin!"

Eisenrose stared across the roofs to see all those Mages. One in particular had caught his eye, he was wearing a helmet all the headless horsemen Mages wore, and he was wearing a dark blue robe. He slowly walked away from the crowd. Eisenrose quickly adjusted his eye around the battlefield. Yesterday when he got his 'custody' of the Downtown Joint, he placed all his magic runes, basically magical traps he could activate at will. Every Mage got time to place these before a match. His were all set and ready to go.

"Ra-Ah-So-Da-Mi"

Eisenrose had channeled his magic to his runes, He activated them all right away, all the runes had activated releasing magical chains all over the battlefield, causing some rubble to fall of the buildings and straight into the street. This caused Ross to raise his eyebrow, giving a look of curiosity. Eisenrose has used all his traps, straight from the beginning. Ross raised his hand and it started to glow, from his elbow to his wrist were glowing blue, his finger tips also started to glow blue, and last a blue circle had started to glow from the palm of his hand.

The battle finally began....

As siegward got closer to his destination he saw a very large red tower like structure off in the distance. He wasnt really sure what a building like that was used for but he knew alot of farms had them. As he got closer he was able to make out the rest of the farmland. It was a fairly large area with plants growing in one field and some cows in another. They were seperated by barbed wire fencing, probably to keep the cows from eating the plants. There was also a shed with tools in the area.

Next to the shed was the farmers house. It was a white two story house with a decent sized porch. On the porch was a man who looked to be in his mid forties. He was wearing blue overalls and a white shirt. His beard was trimmed close to his face and his hair was short with a mix of gray and brown. Siegward walked up towards the gentleman to ask him about this ghost problem. The farmer gave him a startled look. Its a reaction he gets a lot in his line of work. His outfit is a long black cassock with his family crest keeping his cloak in place. The crest is an image of a purple bat wing and an angelic wing on the other with there family name being held by them.

“Good morning sir, i am here on behalf of the blut veerherung exorcists. My name is Siegward and you are?”

“Ah alas i was wondering when someone was going to come. Its nice to meet you siegward, my name is Kyle Flynn. We have been having weird things happen around the property. Things have been moved to strange spots and the noises at night are very eerie. Can you help us?”

“I will need to take a look around the property to find it. It probably has a prefered spot, is there anywhere these odd occurrences take place the most?”

“They happen by the shed mostly. A few times around the outside of the house as well.”

“thank you kyle, i will start my investigation immediately. I will come find you when i am finished.”

“Thank you sir.”

Let the ghost hunt begin...

Battles - Such a simple word fueled with much meaning. This very concept that paved the way for Mages to establish themselves and show off their skills aswell as their families magical ability. While it held true it was a place to show off talent, it was also a place of respect and honor.

To win a duel it only required a knock out or until one called forfiet. In rare cases the situation would be more complex.
The rubble on the ground had become opportunity. Ross kicked the rock up with finesses and gripped it with his glowing hand. He winded up his arm and threw the projectile, his arm function much like a rail gun: the rock moved at a dangerously high velocity. Eisenrose had dodged the rock, it wizzed past his right ear, which lightly disoriented it.

When he turned back Ross was running straight at him. Eisenrose had grabbed one of the chains adjacent to Ross - swinging it towards him.

Ross leaped over the chain, his head was aimed towards the ground, he used his hand to land safely. But a glimer had caught the attention of his eye. An invisable chain was coming his way. When his hand touched the ground he propelled up into the air. The sun had reflected off the barely visable chains. Ross had gathered up energy into his hand and casted a simple spell into the sky, it was a spell that created magical energy, it was a big round sphere of pure light. All the seemingly invisable chains were glimmering.

Eisenrose gathered all the chains to line up all among the ground. He grabbed a vial that had lightning surging around the interior glass. The fragile glass shattered into a billion peoces as he crushed it in his hand. The electricty was now surging in the palm of his hand, which transferred to his chains as he touched one.

Meanwhile Ross was free falling towards his doom. He put his arm out and started to chant.

"De-En"

The energy surrounding his arm had formed two magic circles, one in front of his hand and the other around his elbow.

The circle that accompanied his elbow slowly rised up to the other circle, as it rose his arm created new energy, it was red, four lines formed at the base of his elbow spiraled around and through each other up to his wrist, then a line for each finger shot up from the wrist to their tips.

When he got to the chains he swung at them. The magic circle above his hand made contact with the chains, which had absorbed the electricty into his enchanted arm, the electricty surged down each line.

Then his fist hit the bundle of chains and they shattered.

The electricty started to intensify and swirl around him, then is all absorbed into his arm and the electricty turned into a pure yellow energy that engolfed his entire right arm. He converted the lightning back into magic which enhanced his arm further. Ross flexed his arm and his right arm had revealed huge muscles made of pure magic.

It was hercules blessing, No small feet for a new mage. The spell was impossible, but not unstoppable.

Eisenrose had clapped his hands together, blue sparks had flickered from his hands. His palms glowed blue. He aimed at Ross and shot chains from his hands. He countered by grabbing the chain and pulling Eisenrose towards him. The air brushed against him from the high velocity. When he got close he touched Ross, but soon after a big fist strick his gut and sent him flying towards the old motel. He used magic to land against the building, his feet were glued the wall.
Ross jumped after him, he stuck his hand in the wall, bits and peices crumbled. Next he flipped onto the wall and started to run up it.

The moment of truth was upon them. The action that would set in stone multiple, critical events.

"
This isn't really my style, so sorry in advance" Ross said.

The yellow energy split into 3 streams that slowly disbandes the wnergy around his arm, the three streams of energy formed together in his hand - to create energy in the shape of a handgun. The energy slowly faded, it was a real gun with blue energy, in stripes throughout all the gun.

By the time Valery had noticed it was too late.

The bullet emerged from the gun. Though not quick enough for Eisenrose to intervien. An invisable force pushed the bullet towards the left, it punctured his left shoulder. The blood sprayed from his wound. The pain wasn't anything he hasn't handled before.

Miss Valery had interviened, she walked in front of Eisenrose with blue flames ablazed on her hands.

"Foul play, you are here by-"

"No, miss Valery with all do respect. I want to finish this duel, no death, just a plain o'l regular duel"

Eisebrose walked in front of her and into the light.

This peaked Galfreys attention. Eisenrose was an interesting character when it came to duels. His life revolved around fights to prove himself. There was something intriguing about him to Galfrey.

Ross looked at the entire crowd, that had went dead silent. They all stared in disgust or morbid interest. This was an unordinary conflict that no Mage had dared attempt. There society was based on respect and honor, but this stranger from out of no where used illegal play in a duel.

"Oh don't look at me that way, we all know his affinty, its about time we acted. - Ugh, its like talking to stones, no disrespect. Fine, you all like duels. Them I'll finish this"

Miss Valery had returned to atop the buildings.

As the wind blew over them, their hair blew to the side, the clothes stuck to one side and loosened on the other. And then there was a brief silence of serenity.
Ross ran at Eisenrose, he reinforced his hand with the familar blue energy. To compinsate Eisenrose grabbed a two mana vials, he poured one into the other, with complete concentration he focused the mana in the vial, he poured some of his own magic into them, it changed to a yellow vial that glowed and had a strange dust.

The Aroma of Magic. "Magic is controlled, Not owned, It has no intelligence, Yet personification can be applied, Legend says there's an aroma even magic can't ignore, And allures it close to your heart"

Eisenrose chugged the vial. The invisable force was effected by his attuned magic. To fight back against his opponent. He shot a chain at Ross that wrapped around his arm. To counter, his armed changed to the red enchantment - absorbtion lines. The chains sucked into the red lines. He altered his arm again, hercules blessing. Eisenrose grabbed his Mage's Knife, Ross swung at him, they clashed - magical knife against mystic arm, they parried each other's attacks blow-for-blow. Until they both hit with equal strength which caused them to fall to the ground.
Both were breathing heavy from over exaighstion. They both got up, taking their time from pain. Eisenrose snapped, the invisable force had surrounded Ross preventing movement. Ross could feel a cold metal against him.

The glittering chains were a decoy for the real invisable threat.

The hidden force was getting tighter, he was trapped, so he reverted back to absorption lines. The chains had revealed themself, as they were infusing into Ross' arm. Afterwards he released them, they spinned all around him.

But there was a move up Nobody's sleeve. As he snapped the chains stopped, then he reached his arm out to take back control. The aroma called out to the chains, they changed sides and re-wrapped around Ross. The chains sprung out and attached to the walls around them.

"Checkmate"

Eisenrose watched as Ross struggled. He made the final blow, the electric vial on his utility belt was taken. He fiddled with it in his hands a bit before busting it, then he let the electricity surge through his hand, lastly he touched the chain allowing the magic to conduct all the way to his opponent.

"Impressive" Ross gasped.

His consiousness faded as all turned to black.

The Final Blow, He won, but there would be more to it then one last hit. There was more to this situation that needed to be explained. After the battle Eisenrose would be called to the Grand masters office.

Let the talk begin....

Siegward waited until kyle had left the area before he began his work. To get started, he chanted in the language of his ancestors. “Öffne meinen persönlichen Safe von Realität zu Realität.” As Siegward chanted, he stretched his arm out away form his body and arced his arm in a circular clockwise motion. Purple sparks began to waft from his fingertips as his magic took form in the air in front of him. The air began to churn with a whirl of greens and blues ans the normal landscape disappeared from view and in its place was what looked like another world.

In Front of siegward was a hole that led to another space, created by siegward to hold the tools he needed for a special ritual. He was going to summon a ghost he had made a pact with when he was young. It was something all blut verheerung were required to perform when they came of age and had proven themselves worthy to be called an exorcist. Siegward reached inside the space and from it produced some chalk and a black candle. Using the chalk, he created a circle that was 5 feet in diameter. Inside the circle he drew a 5 star pentagram with strange drawings of grotesque creatures near the tip of each end. When he finished, he stepped into the middle of the magic circle and began to chant.

The words that came out of his mouth sounded like an distant echo to the family inside the house. They watched with apprehension as his words increased in pitch and his voice started become easier to make out. What the family heard was “Ich beschwöre deine Erscheinung aus dem Jenseits der Sterblichkeit. Beschütze mich vor meinen Feinden und tue mein Gebot.” Underneath the exorcist the circle he drew began to glow an eerie glow and the winds began to howl. The windows began to rattle and there courage began to waver. The first to run and hide was there youngest son. He went to his parents room and hide under the covers of the bed. Soon after his parents and older siblings followed, not wanting to be close to what was about to happen.

“Ich beschwöre deine Erscheinung aus dem Jenseits der Sterblichkeit. Beschütze mich vor meinen Feinden und tue mein Gebot” Howled Siegward. He could feel the magic building as the ghostly world began to open up around him. As soon as it did, a whisper of ghosts came out in a rush so powerful most would have thought a tornado was blowing in. Siegward was always amazed when he performed this type of summoning. He liked to hear the voices of the spirits, sometimes he could make out what they were saying before the whispers died away to almost nothing. As it did he could make out the voice a single spirit, “Why have you summoned me to this nothing of a place.” “I have a job for you” replied Siegward.
