Interest Check The Scarlet Five

I have a question for the Double-Agent take: Could they be both Opposition and a part of the Scarlet Five? Or would it not work? :emoji_thinking:
Yes. Naturally, they would have a reason or something they would be working towards. I would doubt that a member of the actual Five could be a Double-Agent for long BUT you can still try!

Name: Tharin Mynex

Alias: Parasite/Leech

Age: 37

Height: 5’6

Weight 142 lbs

Bio: Tharin grew up an orphan. His mother died in child birth. His father not being able to look at him, due to him being the reason she died in his eyes, gave him up to the orphanage. He’s known about his power his entire life, as he’s had to take special precautions, such as wearing gloves and making sure not to touch people if he could help it, to make sure that he didn’t hurt those he held close. It wasn’t long though before people began to cast him out as being to dangerous to be around. Tharin left the orphanage around the age of 16. He fell into a life of crime in order to survive.

He started to crave power as time passed. With power he could rule the city and he wouldn’t have to merely survive anymore. During his time on the streets, around the age of 27, he met four other people with similar interests that would one day form The Scarlet Five with him. Now in the present, after the organization was formed, he’s chilled out a little but the thirst for power still remains.

Affiliations: He helped form The Scarlet Five. Back in the day four others and him had met (not necessarily at the same time) and after a few years together formed the organization in order to gain the power that they would need to rule the city. He contributed by making it a place that accepted people from all walks of life and making it a close knit group. He would try to make sure to meet every member that joined (feel free to use this to have your character know mine if you want). He wanted to provide what he lacked while growing up here.

Powers: Tharin has the power to drain people of their life force, but he has to be touching them in order to do so. Draining someone of their life force also works to heal his own wounds. This is not a power he can control, it’s always active in fact. The victim doesn’t die as soon as they are touched, it’s more like their life is slowly suctioned out until they break contact with him. Touching someone doesn’t physically alter the victims appearance.

Equipment and non-powered abilities: Tharin carries around a pistol, strapped to his chest under his vest/coat, and a knife strapped to his shoulder under whatever article of clothing he’s wearing. He is experienced in street fighting and picked up a little teakwondo from a fellow member of the organization.

Relations: Tharin is closest to the other four members that formed the organization. Everyone that is part of the organization is dear to him. He dislikes mainly the people that get in the way of his goal.
I like this. Approved!

Moonstar
Iht-tAMSrtOHuE62QEAerG9Y0JNmK2vXbZZDrDf4Lx8.jpg

Name/ Title / Alias:
His real name is unknown. Known only as Moonstar.

Biography:
Moonstar was once a young boy living in the streets of Newport. He had a loving family compromised of him, his mother, his father, and his younger brother. Moonstar was always special and not like the others. He was interested in occultism, magic, tarot cards, and would get picked on in school. His father was the one who introduced Moonstar to Mysticism as he had a large library with many books on the topic. There was one book that he had locked away behind a metal gate. Moonstar was especially curious about this one and would often stare at it from outside the gate. It called to him, in strange tones and voices. "Touch us", "Read me" "Our power is beyond this world...". This scared the young child and he would never go to close to it again.

One day in the playground at school some bullies were standing around in a circle talking down to him. He thought back to the books he was reading with his father. In the corner of his eye, he could spot it. It was a large black mass with no real form. It had no legs, arms, or eyes. It was just... darkness. Complete and utter darkness. In the following seconds, the sky would darken and invisible tentacles would drag the bullies down into the Earth. Far, far below the surface. The smell of burnt flesh filled the air, blood flowed into the streets and he could hear them. The screams. They were no more.

A few days later his family was sitting around the fireplace when a small blaze jumped onto the carpet in front of them. His father and mother had dozed off and his brother was occupied with a game console. Moonstar observed the blaze taking form in front of him capturing the whole carpet and setting it ablaze. Moments later the house was a fiery hell. Something occurred. His family was gone. Navigating through the burning wreckage which once was his house was no easy task. Searching the burnt down logs recovered nothing. The firefighters told the young child that it would seem he had lived on his own for many years and that no corpses were found in the wreckage. The only thing left was a heavy, reinforced book.

Affiliation:
Following the destruction of his family and home he ended up in the child-care system. He was kicked out of various institutions for "Violent behavior". This lead to him ending up on the streets. alone, poor and weak he was often approached by strangers. He learned the ins and outs of the street. Eventually, he forgot his real name and only went by Moonstar. He was a petty thief, stealing only to make by. One day someone approached him. They called to him with his real name and promised him the explanation of the house fire. There was one condition though. He had to join The Scarlet Five and track down other members that have according to the cloaked man "Overwhelming power much like your own."

-
Powers:
Moonstar is a foe to be reckoned with. His powers are mysterious and unknown to us at the Opposition but what we know is that he fears Ultra-violet light. This disables most of his powers and puts him in a neutralized state. Moonstar's powers as far as we know are the control of an entity from beyond this dimension and use their powers to his will. This entity is currently unnamed and gathering information on it is crucial to neutralizing the Scarlet Five.

The powers of this "entity" seem to be magical in nature. Almost all manmade weapons have little to no effect on the entity and even hitting the target is hard because of its speed. Much of the reason Moonstar isn't the biggest threat of the Five is his reluctance to take part in large-scale battles. Though this seems to be changing.

- Agent Pine

Equipment & Non-powered abilities:

Moonstar was raised by the streets and knows how to get what he wants. The influence and power that being in the Scarlet Five gives you are also given to Moonstar so his respect on the street is not to be denied. Moonstar is special in the sense that most gangsters and underlings do not recognize him but only the sound of his power. Moonstar himself is weak and can't fight but has picked up the crossbow as a way to take out targets that are rather far away.

-

Relations:
Moonstar's family was his closest friends but since they are now gone he lacks what he refers to as friends. Not much more is known.

Yes! This is great! You can count this as approved! I have a few questions though:

What rank would you say she is? If we order the Scarlet Five in say S to F Tier with S being naturally the Five and F being a jaywalker or a petty thief.

Can you edit the document to make the relations tab outside of the spoiler? Thanks!
I would prefer her to be rank S if that's okay?

Alright, I'm interested to do the Double-Agent take. Obviously, they'll eventually be found out and whatever happens to them, happens. It's fine if I post my CS here? I'll have a different take on the form you provided, if that's alright with you :emoji_thinking: (Most of it will remain the same, however)

I would prefer her to be rank S if that's okay?
Of course. This means that 3/5 slots of the Scarlet Five are taken. I want to make it clear that even if the five slots are taken we can still have other members of the Scarlet Five just not THE FIVE

I encourage you to get creative. If you give us enough information then do it by any means necessary.

I would also like more Opposition characters as most of who we have now are part of The Scarlet Five.

Name: Aspen V. Monluc
Alias(es):
  • Marin Von Weiss (used when in TSF)
  • S (used by TO)
Age: 24
Gender: Non-Binary (biologically born female)
Pronouns: They/Them
Height: 5’7" (170cm)
Weight: N/A (fluctuates depending on usage of ability)
Occupation:
  • Double Agent (for The Opposition)
  • Gang Leader (for The Scarlet Five)
Rank: B

(Note: Aspen is blind in their right eye, the cause behind it is unknown—it’s presumed to result from unknowingly using their ability beyond their control at a young age.)

Biography:
Aspen Viburnum Monluc was born in Newport City to a Lawyer Mother and General Surgeon Father. Both of whom would raise their child under the illusion of Newport City being safe, despite what they saw on a day-to-day basis. Aspen, however, was not as naïve as they thought and knew the city wasn’t safe. In the tragic event of their Mother’s passing, Aspen’s suspicions were reaffirmed and would ultimately cause a rift between their Father and themselves. Aspen’s hidden clairvoyance emerged through grasping their Father’s hand one night. It showed a flurry of blurred, unclear images to the eighteen-year-old Aspen. Two things were constant; a bottle of alcohol and a rope. Unfortunately, Aspen was far too late to understand what happened to them when the emergence of powered individuals was making headlines across the city. When they returned to their Father’s residence, they found… an image of their Father’s passing by suicide. At present, Aspen works as a Double Agent for The Opposition and an underling (Gang Leader) for The Scarlet Five.

Affiliation(s):
  • The Opposition
  • The Scarlet Five
After the emergence of their ability, Aspen took careful steps to always wear gloves when out in public. They found that grasping hands, while gloved, helped them move about society undetected and able to continue their studies at the University of Newport (UN). Eventually, the mistake of forgetting their gloves one evening, to be pulled away from their studies by other roommates, would cause them to experience two other sub-sets (past and present) of their ability when accidentally brushing the hands of a male. What showed them were unclear images of the male taking orders from another blurred individual, then the intense crash of two cars hitting together with the other car becoming mangled after being thrown from the cliff side and tumbling to the bottom of the hill. Aspen could see their Mother’s face in the broken driver’s window, blood pouring from her head, and eyes slowly dimming of life. An explosion erupted and engulfed their Mother in flames. The feeling of being burned alive and anger overwhelmed Aspen, sending the student to turn into a statue on sight.

What happened after that was something Aspen could never recall. They awoke in the headquarters of The Opposition and under the guard of a woman who revealed themselves as, “Madame Sea.” After examinations and tests, [TO] found that Aspen could no longer recall the time before waking up. If it weren’t for records on Newport’s Citizens (deceased or alive) [TO] never would’ve known their parents were both dead and Aspen was studying to become a Criminal Investigator. Which would ultimately benefit them after revealing themselves as The Opposition and to groom Aspen in becoming another Agent within their rankings. Although it was difficult for an amnesiac powered individual to adjust to live with regular civilians, Aspen broke through the barriers of regarded [TO] agents after befriending Madame Sea.

Madame Sea is an influential council member, who would take Aspen under her wing to train and tutor them in fighting, manoeuvring, and control over their ability – ultimately, mastering it within three year’s time. Except for sending them out in the field to collect intel, Aspen was proving to be a worthy asset to The Opposition. Once entering their twenties, Aspen was chosen to become a Double Agent, their primary goal: to learn the faces of [TSF]. Although they weren’t the only Double Agent [TO] had, they chose Aspen for their unique ability to collect information from the past, present, and future. Once Aspen successfully infiltrated their ranks as a petty criminal, [TO] gave them a new identity; Marin Von Weiss. As Marin, they would slowly climb the ranks of [TSF] and eventually become a lower-tier Leader within their set hierarchy. As Marin Von Weiss, they were the Leader of the Intelligence Division and were hardly incorrect when predicting the outcome of future events and/or collecting intel from the past or present of an individual [TSF] wanted information on.

Power(s): Clairvoyance

S's clairvoyance first emerged at seventeen. Whilst a University student, S was recruited into The Opposition after being saved by MS. Throughout S’s training and extended control of their ability, it was found that the Clairvoyant can:
  • See into an individual’s mind – past, present, and future’s that could/can happen.
  • Can influence an individual’s choices – depending on the individual’s level of trust or clear conscience (Note: S can force their way into one’s mind and influence them anyway.)
  • Make an individual’s possible future come true in exchange for notable memories.
  • Can obtain intelligence and key information within an individual’s past, presence, or future.

While S is a valuable asset, their ability also has major flaws which could prove to be a good or bad result as a Double Agent for [TO]. Those flaws include (but not limited to):
  • Weight Loss. Can lose between 1~100 lbs/kgs on duration of ability.
  • Memory Loss. Pending on how long S uses their ability, an (in)significant amount of their memories become loss. There is no known method or cure to retrieve their memories back. (Note: S does not recall much of their childhood, which is why it's advised for the Agent to not use their ability for long periods of time unless it's absolutely necessary.)
  • Life Span Loss. The span of S’s life is (in)significantly lost (i.e. seconds, mins, hrs etc) and can amount up to days, months, and (presumably) years.
  • Energy Loss. S immediately loses all energy, no matter how short or long at the use of their ability. In notable extended (i.e. an hour to several hours etc) use of their ability, it was found that their body turns into a statue for a small and/or undetermined amount of time.
When S uses their ability, they become paralysed and rigid in stature. Their eyes haze over and become milky white. (Note: Do not worry in extended usage of their ability when they ultimately become a statue.)

Equipment & Non-Powered Abilities:
  • S’s Father used to use Acupuncture Needles when their body became too stressed to study. Through hand-to-hand combat, it was an exceptional ability to use when able to get close within an individual’s proximity. S could pinpoint weak spots of the human body and render them paralysed through blocking their “chi” as they called it.
  • S is not physically strong, but they are a force to reckon with when realising their agility to slip from their opponent’s grasp and/or usage of acupuncture needles which (may or may not) contain poison laced in its pricking point.
  • S is provided with the essentials by [TO] when going on missions/going into [TSF].
Other:
  • S changed their name to Marin Von Weiss after positively joining [TSF] and securing an essential spot as an under boss to the key [criminals] that [TO] is after and ultimate goal is to bring down.
  • Updated Notes: Refer to Marin as “S” here on out - MS
  • Updated Notes #2: S does not retrieve orders directly from the key pillars running [TSF]. Is advised to continue in their mission until ultimately discovered or death occurs.
  • [IMPORTANT] Updated Notes #3: S can and will go without reporting back to base for extended periods of time. Do not contact them unless it is absolutely necessary. [TSF] are very sharp individuals to lower-tier "Leaders" within their set hierarchy.

Relations:
  • Madame Sea – A Mother figure and ultimately the person who Aspen looks to for advice.
  • The Opposition – Friendly/Trusted. Thanks to them, Aspen could control their ability and learn about the cause of their Mother’s death.
  • [REDACTED] – A figure from [TSF] they secretly admire, despite being enemies on the surface.
  • The Scarlet Five – Distrusted/Enemy. Were responsible for their Mother's death.
  • Deceased Parents – Aspen loved them both dearly and like others in [TO] hopes to bring [TSF] to justice.

Other:
  • Aspen is blinded in their right eye and can usually be seen an eye-patch while in [TSF] or a pair of sunglasses.
  • Madame Sea was their trainer/teacher when they first appeared in [TO]. In which, they ultimately look to MS for advice and sees her as a Mother figure.

Name/Title/Alias: "Bluebird"

Biography: "Bluebird" is obviously a pseudonym. His life started as an innocent lad who was the son of two parents, both possessing dangerous powers. His father had the ability to create and masterfully create and manipulate inorganic materials like metals, plastic, and glass, while his mother had the ability to use mysterious symbols to warp reality and an innate immunity to these very symbols. They first met coincidentally in an abandoned bunker whilst trying to hide from politicians that seeked to abuse their powers, and this very meeting led to a love story that led to "Bluebird's" birth. Eventually, they began to settle in a village where they could not be found.

As he grew, his parents discovered that he had inherited both of his parents' abilities, albeit in a weaker form. Grateful that they have a child which had the combined potential of both parents, they appreciated his powers and trained him to enrich them; while finding ways to work around the fact that he only half the power of each parents (though frankly, they found it very difficult). During this period of enrichment, his father found out that he had developed an interest with technology, tinkering around with the machinery within the remodeled bunker. He took this interest as an opportunity to turn the normally destructive and forceful power into one that creates. Meanwhile, his mother did not succeed much, only managing to teach the art of using symbols that only work when viewed in certain manners (the simplest ones she could use). He lived a life he sees as perfectly normal, having used his abilities wisely and having an excellent academic life (though his parents have warned him not to trust anyone easily).

At school, he is often seen as the smart guy, receiving both admiration and ridicule from different students. He only has an extremely tight group of friends during his school life due to his habit of being suspicious towards othersand his eccentricities resulting to his father's intense support on his interests. Eventually, he took a technology-based course in college to further hone is abilities.

Fast forward to the days when he had finished college.... One of the people in the village became very envious of the seemingly-perfect life of his family and began to spread a rumor that his parents were wanted criminals and that they are teaching him how to be like them; then claiming that the only way to stop then is to put them to death, and that he is simply an advocate of good. He easily convinced the dim-witted villagers and this quickly lead to them teaming up and hiring another superpowered person to destroy them. When they suddenly began to charge into the household with destructive intent, his parents sacrificed themselves for the safety of their son, who managed to flee from the scene as he slowly became an aged orphan. This event not only gave him a worsened distrust towards people, but also developed a strong hatred towards the mainstream society in general.

Affiliation: Scarlet Five (S-Rank)
+ Recruitment Story: Prior to his recruitment, he survived by taking over an abandoned factory, tinkering with its mechanisms to produce consumables and counterfeit products and brainwashing homeless people with symbols to serve as resource-gatherers, laborers, and as backup in combat. Eventually, he slowly began picking on criminals and began to reverse-engineer their weapons and experiment on them, to the point that he had mastered the ability to swiftly create guns, blades and explosives. He also learned how to set traps and engage in armed combat from slaughtering countless dangerous intruders his underlings cannot overcome at that time.

Eventually, a member of the Scarlet Five in its early stages heard of rumors of a phantom factory with a vague government (any of you could fill this place) and ventured into it. This very member managed to get through all improvised security measures set and gained his attention. This is the first time in years when "Bluebird" have seen an intruder that survived all the measures that he had set. Much to his surprise, this stranger gave him the offer to "one of the High Chairs" in the criminal organization and proving that the group could be trusted by appealing to every interests and having every concern of him covered up with a concrete answer.

"Bluebird" eventually knew that they are truly on the same side of the coin and joined the Scarlet Five with all hesitation wiped out, giving them free access to the factory too. Right now, he is a member of the original Scarlet Five, all while retaining his dictator-like authority over whoever he converts.

+ Opinion on the Opposition - He views them as hypocrites, only asking the help of superpowered people because he and the rest of The Scarlet Five exists. He believes that if The Scarlet Five ever dissolved, or even pretended to be, those very people they call as "heroes" will eventually be outcast by normals who always want to be better than them. He seeks to form a meritocracy to eradicate the stagnatory mindset of the mindless.

+ Opinion on the Police Force - Although he does have a slight admiration on their previously demonstrated ability to track him down once and their rationality compared to the more impulsive and radical opposition, he ultimately views them as a free source of personnel.

Powers:

+ Technomancy - "Bluebird" is highly capable of creating technology from absolutely nothing, specializing in weapons. The time spent in creating objects strongly vary depending on his familiarity towards them and the complexity of the object itself. For example, it would take a few seconds for him to create a glass landmine or a pressure plate, and he can produce objects like knives, wires, and bullets near-instantly.

His ability is limited when it comes to producing unfamiliar objects or extemely complex ones, like a computer or a cellphone. He also cannot continuously produce objects without getting exhausted, due to the precision and mental effort required for each object.

There is no hard counter for this.

+ Cognitohazard Creation - Another dangerous property of "Bluebird" is that he is capable of creating cognitohazardous symbols to directly alter affect those who percieve it. Certain symbols have requirements for activation.

Here are the symbols that are confirmed to be associated with him so far:
1. "Third Eye" - Cognitohazard nicknamed for its hallucinogenic properties. It requires to be drawn, painted, or printed unto a physical medium to be effective. Its effect is said to only occur when multiple smaller objects are partially concealing it from the viewer's line of sight. One notable sighting is during [REDACTED] when multiple instances of the symbol was installed behind several small bushes as graffiti overnight, partially and then displayed to a crowd. The resulting confusion resulted to a massive brawl that cause around 60 injuries and 20 deaths. The entire wall had to be demolished via rockets deployed from several feet away, due to closer exposure affecting personnel.

Due to its nature and the way it is commonly deployed, it is impossible to know its true nature.

2. "Supernova" - Cognitohazard named for its spontaneous nature. It requires its victims to be in a state of shock for its effects to take place. Its effect only occurs when it is displayed in a manner that it will constantly be a flashing image. Viewing a flashhing image involving this symbol while in a state of shock results to full body pain and seizures of varying lengths, with weaker victims suffering worsened conditions. One notable sighting occurred in a moviehouse. Halfway throughout the movie, the symbol was abruptly shown as a flashing image with a scare chord, causing its effects to occur on almost every viewer involved. The team sent to escort the people and disable the film were also affected, severely delaying operations. Power had to be cut off for the operation to properly proceed. One fifths of the recovered victims suffered from severe brain damage. All unaffected people admitted to be not paying attention to the movie at all prior to the event.

Due to everyone who saw any released instances being unable to recall its appearance clearly, it is currently impossible to record the symbol.

3. Unnamed Symbol - Its effects only occur when an complete instance of the symbol remains within eyesight for a varying degree of time depending on the mental fortitude of the viewer (ex. weak-willed, dim-witted, and desperate individuals take at least 20-30 minutes while strong-minded and powerful individuals like Agent Joe would need hours to be fully affected.) At least a minute of broken visual contact is required to reset the timer of its effects.

[REDACTED]

This symbol is regarded as completely safe, with no known negative effects. Positive effects include enhanced combat efficiency, inability to feel pain and unwavering loyalty to authorities. This symbol is highly recommended to be tested on less competent officers.

Report submitted by Agent Brandon

[Date Classified] - We were fooled. He fooled us all. We attempted to weaponize this sigil in hopes that we could take down The Scarlet Five. The entire squad dedicated to exposing it to our forces ended up marching into our office and slaughtering every officer in present. We stood no match. They all disappeared without a trace, and same goes for Agent Joe and the other Agents directly linked to him. That motherfucker turned an entire squad into moles with that goddamn sigil. We're looking for ways to get them back. For now, we have to cope with this massive disaster that will definitely ruin our PR. I doubt that I would fully recover from this jarring event

[Date Classified] - We captured on of our lost Agents after we pursued him after a mass shooting. We are now finding ways to see if we can cure our Agents from this curse. Medication and amnestics are currently ineffective, so we are resorting to checking if abilities that can tap on the mind are effective in reversing its effects.

[Date Classified] - We were fucking stupid. All studies on treating the condition should be halted RIGHT NOW. I repeat, RIGHT NOW.

[Date Classified] - We lost our hired telepath, and several key officers. It appears that trying to communicate, let alone touch the mind of affected personnel results to being infected within ONE MINUTE. We had to kill him after he had used his powers to infect them, probably by forcing the symbol into their brain. The only solution for this is death.

[Date Classified] - We had a public exposure event involving the damn symbol. A member was sent to blast the wall with a rocket it without hesitation. Luckily, no one seemed to have turned into killers.

[Date Classified] - We had to deliver that guy amnestics. And we had to amnesticize everyone present in the event. We saw him trying to draw the symbol and studying it. We're glad that we found about this on time. Soon enough, we would amnesticize ourselves too.

[Date Classified] - We managed to cure ourselves of this more benign stage of infection, but we are not truly safe. They are coming back in larger numbers and we haven't even fully recovered. If you should ever discover this hidden document, tell my family that I loved them.

Update: Any person fully infected become fully loyal to The Scarlet Five, specifically to Bluebird. Anyone who breaks visual contact from the symbol would suffer from a compulsion of a varying degree (depending on mental fortitude) to recreate it and study its properties with the intention to "find a solution". The compulsion stage is easily cured by memory loss via any means, but amnestics are highly recommended for their efficiency and to prevent infection. Meanwhile, a fully infected individual is completely irrecoverable regardless of any measure and must be killed on sight. A protocol that carefully deals with this symbol is officially spread throughout all offices and should be strictly followed at all costs. As tedious as it may be, we are not pulling any gambles in case Agent Brandon is telling the truth. Prevention is better than the cure. Remember that he is immune to these very symbols due to his mother's genes, so any suggestion to weaponize these against him shall be considered as completely suicidal and thus completely invalid.

Ultimately, these symbols require their respective criteria to be effective, thus active action in preventing their appearance to the public and to important people greatly helped mitigate their appearance.
(Updates provided by Agent Krueger)

Equipment and Non-Powered Abilities:

+ Bluebird is highly intelligent and creative due to his high-standard education. His intelligence is focused into the creation and modification of technology.
+ Bluebird also has a degree of strategic knowledge, proven by his ability to prepare deadly set-ups and execute complex attacks with his underlings. Always be on guard should you sense even the slightest hint of danger.
+ Although he does not have the strength or martial arts skills required in direct combat, his life spent in defending the factory with his weapons have resulted to his proficiency in armed combat. He is also notable for being a combat pragmatist, which means that he will not hesitate to play foul to ensure that any opposition he meets remains dead.
+ Due to his abilities, it is a guarantee that he will have military-grade equipment and a large amount of skilled personnel. It is also yet to be known if he is capable of creating money.
+ Finally, he has some experience in psychological manipulation, focusing on deception, set-ups, and demoralization. If he sees a flaw, a loophole, or a weakness that he can exploit, he will be more than happy to find ways to abuse it.

Relations: Bluebird is close friends with The Scarlet Five, specifically the eponymous heads of the group. He only truly opens up to the other four primary members. He also has a degree of trust towards his more private division of underlings. Anyone else is met with a degree of distrust. He always holds the memories of his more peaceful days in his heart, using these as a primary driving force.

Update: We have considered Agent Krueger's hypothesis about mental fortitude affecting its duration. This update has been underlined.

Note: All information is subject to change. If there is anything to modify, notify me.

Name: Selene Delmore

Alias: Siren

Age: 24

Height: 6’1

Weight: 164 lbs

View attachment 8031

Bio: Selene grew up in a peaceful and stable home. She had a great childhood and had many friends. As she grew up though many of her friends would exit her life. Music would, in her times of sorrow, be her crutch as most of her friends had either moved away or gotten out of touch with her. She was so enthralled by music that she dreamed of being either a singer or musician. She would find out later, as she was listening to music, that she could create literal music from thin air as she imagined herself playing the piano and was startled when the sound came out of nowhere. Magic wasn’t unheard of so she figured that to be it. It was also the only explanation she could think of.

Then one day it happened. She turned on the TV and saw one of the few friends she had had left headlining as a victim for a murder committed by an organization called The Scarlet Five( feel free to have your character be the one to have committed the murder). Unable to believe it she picked up the phone and called her friends number and after a full day of trying to get in touch with her she was forced to come to terms that her friend was no more. This undoubtedly was what drove her to join The Opposition.

Affiliation: Selene is a member of The Opposition. She became a member by going to the police and having them introduce her to the group. After meeting her and seeing her power they decided to let her join but warned her about revenge and that she should not seek it.

Powers: Selene can create and manipulate sound. She can tune sounds to a relaxing tone that will put most people to sleep or tune sounds to tone that will make your ears bleed. If she makes the sound frequency low enough she can potentially cause fatal internal damage. If she makes the sound frequency high enough it won’t be heard by the human ear but it can be used for echolocation. She can mute sounds or amplify sounds. After using her power she becomes nauseous and exhausted at a ratio depending on the intensity and amount of time her power was used. The longer she uses her power the more nauseous and tired she gets.

Equipment and non-powered abilities: Selene knows that at times her power may not be enough and carries daggers strapped to her lower legs

Relations: She holds everyone in The Opposition in high respect and sees them all as family. She highly dislikes The Scarlet Five for what they did to her friend.

Note: Aspen is blind in their right eye, the cause behind it is unknown—it’s presumed to result from unkowingly using their ability beyond their control at a young age.

Biography:
Aspen V. Monluc was born to native residents (Lawyer Mother and General Surgeon Father) of Newport City, being raised in a loving home, they shielded Aspen from the danger and crime that constantly plagued the city of Newport. However, the illusion of Newport being a great city would shatter the moment of their Mother’s sudden death caused by a tragic car accident when they were seventeen – just a month short of seeing them graduate from high school. Whether through this tragic event or through their father’s sudden change of image in the world, Aspen’s hidden ability of clairvoyance emerged when they grasped their sleeping father’s hand. Although it was hazy and mostly blurred images, the most notable part of the flashing images was either a rope or a bottle of alcohol always being present. In time, Aspen would come to learn that both would come true through the choices of her father’s ultimate suicide.

Affiliation(s):
  • The Opposition
  • The Scarlet Five
After learning of their clairvoyance, Aspen would always wear gloves wherever they went. However, upon forgetting their gloves one Autumn evening, they ventured away from their dormitory to the “party avenue” they had heard so much about while at Uni. Unknowingly, Aspen brushed the fingers of a petty criminal that was apart of the newly formed organisation of The Scarlet Five. An intense blur of images became clear when the criminal took Aspen’s hands further into their own. Aspen didn’t know they were looking into the past of this criminal’s memory, and what they found must’ve been a coincidence. Because, ironically, this was the same criminal ordered to kill off their Mother from orders of a blurred individual. When all was finished, Aspen was suddenly ripped from the criminal’s mind and they blacked out. Aspen awoke in a strange place, it wasn’t the finest of rooms, but they were being watched by an older woman who would reveal themselves as “Madame Sea” and to be another powered individual and knew that Aspen was clairvoyant. From there on, Aspen would learn of The Opposition and its goal to bring Justice to The Scarlet Five. When Madame Sea revealed the criminal to be a member of TSF, that the images Aspen saw were true.

Through rigorous years of training and learning, Aspen could control their ability of Clairvoyance. Giving them the ultimate ability to see into an individual’s past, present, and future. They sent Aspen on missions of sorts to take out lower tier members of TSF, gathering intel and influencing their enemy’s lackeys was proving to be fruitful, but it was barely a dent in their unlimited number of lackeys they [TSF] had. A different plan was given out. Through other collective members of [TO], they chose Aspen to infiltrate their forces. It didn’t take long to be recruited into TSF as a lower tier before they were ultimately climbing the hierarchy – albeit, slowly. Aspen soon found themselves as one of the “Big Names/Gang Leaders” aka an essential part of their hierarchy they had going for them. If TSF needed intel or key future intel for plans, Aspen would be the one to go to – and they were never wrong in their predictions.

Power(s): Clairvoyance

Aspen’s clairvoyance first emerged at seventeen. Whilst a University student, Aspen was recruited into The Opposition after being saved by Madame Sea. Throughout Aspen’s training and extended control of their ability, it was found that the Clairvoyant can:
  • See into an individual’s mind – past, present, and future’s that are/could happen.
  • Can influence an individual’s choices - depending on the individual’s level of trust or clear conscience (Note: Aspen can force their way into one’s mind and influence them anyway.)
  • Make an individual’s possible future come true in exchange for notable memories.
  • Can obtain intelligence and key information within an individual’s past, presence, or future.

While Aspen is a valuable asset, their ability also has major flaws which could prove to be a good or result in a bad conclusion as a Double Agent for [TO]. Those flaws include (not limited to):
  • Weight Loss. Can lose between 1~100 lbs/kgs on duration of usage of ability.
  • Memory Loss. Depending on the duration of their ability, Aspen can lose memory – small or large, it’s advised for them to only use when necessary.
  • Life Span Loss. The span of Aspen’s life is in/significantly lost (i.e. seconds, mins, hrs etc) and can amount up to days, months, and years.
  • Energy Loss. Aspen immediately loses all energy, no matter how short or long at the use of their ability. In notable extended (i.e. an hour to several hours etc) use of their ability, it was found that their body turns into a statue for a small and/or undetermined amount of time.
When Aspen uses their ability, they become paralysed and rigid in stature. Their eyes haze over and become milky white. (Note: Do not worry in extended usage of their ability when they ultimately become a statue.)

Equipment & Non-Powered Abilities:
  • Aspen’s Father used to use Acupuncture Needles when their body became too stressed to study. Through hand-to-hand combat, it was an exceptional ability to use when able to get close within an individual’s proximity. Aspen could pinpoint weak spots of the human body and render them paralysed through blocking their “chi” as they called it.
  • Aspen is not physically strong, but they are a force to reckon with when realising their agility to slip from their opponent’s grasp and/or usage of acupuncture needles which (may or may not) contain poison laced in its pricking point.
  • Aspen is provided with the essentials by [TO] when going on missions/going into [TSF].
Other:
  • Aspen changed their name to Marin Von Weiss after positively joining [TSF] and securing an essential spot as an under boss to the key [criminals] that [TO] is after and ultimate goal is to bring down.
  • Updated Notes: Refer to Marin as “S” here on out - MS
  • Updated Notes #2: "S" does not retrieve orders directly from the key pillars running [TSF]. Is advised to continue in their mission until ultimately discovered or death occurs.

This is fantastic! I really like this character! I would LOVE to see more bold world-building like you did here! Madame Sea is a very interesting character! Please, to all of you, do more like this!

Its effect only occurs when it is displayed in a manner that it will constantly be a flashing image. Viewing a flashing image containing this symbol initially results to a piercing migraine that would last for a week, with prolonged visual exposure resulting to worsening of conditions to the point of breaking of visual contact or death. One notable sighting occurred in a moviehouse. Halfway throughout the movie, the symbol was abruptly shown as a flashing image, causing piercing migraines on every viewer involved. The team sent to escort the people and disable the film were also affected, severely delaying operations. Power had to be cut off for the operation to properly proceed. One thirds of the recovered victims suffered from severe brain damage.

Due to everyone who saw any released instances being unable to recall its appearance clearly, it is currently impossible to record the symbol.

3. Unnamed Symbol - Its effects only occur when an complete intance of the symbol remains within eyesight for an hour. At least a minute of broken visual contact is required to reset the timer of its effects.

Anyone who breaks visual contact from the symbol would suffer from a compulsion to recreate it and study its properties with the intention to "find a solution".

Ultimately, these symbols require their respective criteria to be effective, thus active action in preventing their appearance to the public and to imporant people greatly helped mitigate their appearance.
(Updates provided by Agent Krueger)

Equipment and Non-Powered Abilities:

+ Bluebird is highly intelligent and creative due to his high-standard education. His intelligence is focused into the creation and modification of tehnology.

Note: All information is subject to change. If there is anything to modify, notify me.

I really like the effort and depth put into this! You are indeed a creative writer, with the use of log files and such to enrich a story. Brilliant. Now onto my questions, notes and just general thoughts:

Who can really stop this guy? Let's be honest some of these powers are very strong. I like that. They are versatile and can be used in many ways. I wanna know what you think stops this guy from waltzing into the strongest TO powerhouse's base and just wrecking the place?

These symbols are very good. I believe you should introduce some way to add difficulty to it. Let's say you need a specific number of people to use it on or the names of the people. This could make it more of an assassination type of power than a just "Kill everyone who sees this" type power. Although I LOVE the "control the homeless" side of the power, keep that.

Is there any limit to who can see the symbols? Say if a TFS member sees it, will they also be affected.

Don't worry this character is fine, I just want to clear a few things up!

I like this and I'm excited to see what you'll be doing with her! I encourage more TO characters! Especially ones like Madame Sea and founding figures, not just newbies :)

Also! Please do not fear worldbuilding. Worldbuilding I want to see more of:

Specific origin stories of powers (alien, dimensional, scientific, accidental etc)

Founding figures, secondary characters

Locations!!

Is it okay if I go back to my CS and add world-building things and other "step-up" details? (Things that really form the character in a fuller way)
