The Vampire's Apprentice (Poetry)

KenżaSheep

That's nice. Put it back.
Okay, so, a friend and I were messing around a bit and it got onto the subject of poetry. I, honestly and truly, do not like poetry as much as I ought to. That said, I did my best when it came to writing this.
Some context; this is in no means official or anything as I was experimenting, but I happened to base the poetry off an RP by the same title, and figured I should mention that before Treasure discovers this and I end up in trouble.
((I'm kidding; I'll be fine; don't take me seriously))

The Vampire's Apprentice

You've probably never heard this story
But once there was a girl
Who spent her life in curious wonder
And thought she might create a great sunder
To hear a vampire's word

Now once on a nice lazy afternoon
Sitting in the park
Kitty—the girl—set out a few small stones
To use a myth that was so hardly known
And attract one in the dark

Lo and behold a vampire came, yet
Ceased to reveal himself
Kitty wondered if he was or not
The thing that she had so fervently sought
Though didn't tell him her name

The very next night they met once again
The girl had stayed alive
They both exchanged names that very same night
As Clancy, the man, just figured he might
Humor this one just a tad

The afternoon after, out broke a fight
A garlic bulb this time
He left her alone, reacting to this
Kitty thought she had done something amiss
And back to square one it was

It was late four days she saw him again
The girl, he'd give a chance
Clancy'd give her a chance to prove herself
For though she had little in way of wealth
She was rather amusing

She didn't return the night after that
He was disappointed
Finding her nowhere, it then dawned on him
Her scent was that of a library's whim
So he went in search of her

Finding her sick against library's bricks
There she lay shivering
Three burly men had come for Kitty first
And she had not the strength to make a burst
So of course, Clancy stepped in

One man's brass knuckles, now clamped on his hand
They'd never be removed
The other two ran, and ran quite a ways
Before Clancy caught up; within his gaze
A vampire's scary look

Kitty was out by the time he was done
He picked up the girl then
Going straight to home, as quick as a flash
Before the light came and turned him to ash
And placed her upstairs in bed

The very next morning, Kitty woke up
In a burst of terror
Being in a strange house and a strange bed
No one was there, but her and this cold dread
She crawled back under the sheets

Later that night, Clancy came out again
And went to wake the girl
Her sickness and shivers had not quite ceased
And yet, for him, she was gratefully pleased
A vampire she knew she'd found

Confirmed, maybe not, but she'd a good guess
Nothing else could he be
Something was different, Kitty had noticed
He hadn't revealed his true motives
Or why she was in his home

Some days went by, and he offered the girl
A place that she might stay
Should she do just one simple thing for him
Be his Familiar, bent to his whim
Forever she'd be his slave

With noting but streets to look forward to
Nothing she liked, behind
Kitty accepted his gracious request
Deciding the thought was rather the best
Compared to her other life

The very next night—she'd thought it over
Kitty would stay with him
For what had she sought but the man himself
Vampires, by fangs, not a book on a shelf
This would be her destiny

Now on her collarbone lies such a scar
Marking her as his own
Clancy McCleary was her new master
Forever, until some great disaster
When Kitty's blood is sucked dry

((That's all I've got; if I do make more, I'll be sure to update this.))
