For those who are unaware, there's a petition going around to shut down the popular website PornHub due to them having videos of certain activities and their mistreatment of the victims involved. There's way, way more that goes into this (and the GirlsDoPorn controversy) but for the sake of time, I won't go into too much detail.
While I definitely don't support the organization behind this because I disagree with their beliefs, I definitely support this campaign. Any site that is complicit in having illegal (and stolen) content and treats the victims like garbage when they speak out or try to get the videos taken down definitely shouldn't exist. There are far better sites to watch porn on anyways and another site will easily take its place. Say whatever you want about other social media sites but the difference is that these other sites don’t monetize, lie about removing & lie about fingerprinting, & then publicly gaslight & slander the victims by name.
I follow one of the victims on Twitter (won't say which one) and the amount of hell she's had to go through for being an advocate and speaking out is just unfathomable. No one should have to impersonate a lawyer to get videos of their assault removed.
For those who have been made aware of this campaign and petition, what are your overall thoughts on it and do you agree with it or not? Have any of you had any issues with PornHub?
