A hum of machinery could be heard from some far off place, accompanied by a ringing in one's ears. A numb tingling erupted across one's body before a pervasive cold took hold. A feeling of falling followed, though it lasted for only a moment. The air felt stale and smelled of faint disinfectant.

Next thing anyone knew, they were in a dark place. A very dark place. A shivering voice arose from the darkness.

"Hello?"

Who was it that spoke? It sounded undeniably familiar. There was a low breathing from multiple sources nearby, which could only mean that this dark space was inhabited by a number of others.

"Who's there?" spoke another voice, distinctly female.

Darkness.

As for Luca, he was in a very similar situation. However, things were slightly different. The foreboding darkness was pierced by the light coming off a cell phone sitting on the ground nearby. Not a sound could be heard.

@Capri

"You answer first," The voice of the Mandalorian echoed into the darkness. He was disoriented and out of his depth. The darkness felt thick enough to be cut with a knife. For the time being he stayed perfectly motionless, just in case he wouldn't fall into a large hole or something. Considering how the mission had gone so far that was a very likely possibility.

Annoyed by the creature no longer paying attention, he lurched forward once more but stopped in his tracks as it flickered. Before he could react, the world collapsed before him, the metal shrill churning causing him to let out a scream as he promptly covered his ears. The sudden feeling of falling causing him to curl into himself, a brisk chill now invading his body.

Shigaraki soon realized, he wasn't falling at all, he was curled up on the ground- but his surroundings were cloaked in darkness. After hearing two voices, he stood to his feet.

He stared blankly into the darkness, unsure what his next move was.

"I-I'm..."

Then-- a flood of luminescence. Everyone was bathed in blinding light that cascaded from above. All within the room could be seen for who they were. Not all faces would be recognizable to some, though they all undoubtedly shared the experience of having just been on the chaotic city streets.

The surrounding room was tall and rather nondescript, only really large enough to contain those within it. The ceiling was comprised of metal grating, though the lights above obscured if anything lie further above. The walls were stainless steel while the floor was basic white tile.

Emily Pope slowly got to her feet. Her eyes were wide as she slowly turned around to take in the room.

"Does anyone remember how we got here?" she asked. She began to unconsciously wring her hands? "A shift of some sort? Possibly... however--"

"Shut up."

Arya Stark spoke quietly with a deathly serious look on her face. She was fixated on a point in the wall where there seemed to be a small hole. Staring at the hole for a length of time gave the impression it was the right size for a camera.

"No, it's not." Clare agreed with Arya's statement as she got to her feet, surveying the room and the others in it.

This room seemed to be keeping them contained, to be watched or studied, or simply ending up in an unfamiliar location with no way out gave the impression that it was about as bad as it was when they were fighting. It was eerie, in a sense.

Her eyes landed on the hole in the wall, before landing on Arya and the rest stuck there with her to see if anyone was potentially hurt.

As for Luca, he was in a very similar situation. However, things were slightly different. The foreboding darkness was pierced by the light coming off a cell phone sitting on the ground nearby. Not a sound could be heard.

Luca approached the phone. A strange device he’s only seen around four or five times during his time at ODMA. It’s a device he would love to pick apart one day but not now.

He tried to look at what was on the screen.

Nothing happened for what felt like a long moment, though eventually something shifted behind the hole. A voice then came out of some unseen speaker.

"Welcome all to the next phase of our trial," a male voice said. "We are conducting an experiment. Our first phase required subjects to be unaware of certain matters, but upcoming phases require some level of informed engagement."

Arya stood silently with fury behind her eyes. Despite the look she was giving, she seemed calm, as if this was hardly a strange development for her. Emily Pope let out a small gasp, looking far more distressed.

"As some of you may be aware, individuals across the multiverse project certain resonances that are generally unique to them. However, certain other individuals project resonances so nearly alike that they may as well be identical. We refer to them as twins. Of course, this phenomenon is hardly limited to pairs but higher numbers are outside the scope of this current trial."

"Trial?!" Pope burst out. "Who are you people?"

She was ignored.

"In trying to determine how these twins interact, we have reached the phase where we must directly force conflict between them. In another room, just like yours, exist the same number of people listening to the same message. These other individuals are your multiversal twins. Chances are they are rather different from you, but we are interested in finding out just how alike these twins are beyond just their resonances."

A section of the wall pulled aside to reveal a single button.

"A button will have been revealed in both rooms. Pressing the button will cause the other room to collapse, killing all inside. Pressing it will also deactivate the button in the other room, ensuring all of you will live. In other words, whichever group presses the button first will survive."

The voice paused.

"... You have five minutes."

@Chaos Sphere @York @Gummi Bunnies @Space_Candy @Jeremi @Lucky @Yun Lee @Takumi

The phone did not seem particularly special. Its functions did not appear to work and the only thing on the screen was an arrow button pointing to the right. Depending on ones familiarity with technology, they would recognize it as the symbol for playing sound or video.

@Capri

An audio message began to play.

"You have five minutes," a robotic voice spoke. "If you can not escape in time, you will lose your life."

The lights of the room flashed on, revealing the room Luca was in.

"You are not alone. Your fate is tied to someone you can not see. However, if you refuse this connection and are willing to betray them, you can leave safely. Follow the voice in your heart."

Before Luca, one of the lockers lit up with a green light. A voice receiver lay on a shelf below the locker. Behind, a door opened to a dark hallway.

@Capri

Wanda Maximoff

Trauma does a lot to a person. So, waking up in a dark room away from where she was wasn't exactly her favorite thing to do. She listened to what the voice had to say. " Well, I guess there is only one thing left to do." It didn't take Wanda much or even any hesitation to quicky ( with some help from her powers if they worked in here) go over to the button and press it.

The first thing Luca did was try to open the locker door, then he grabbed the voice receiver not knowing what it was but assuming it was important.

Unaware about the eventual collapse of reality, Gundham kept firing at the Tank, confident from the belief that the bullets are causing it to decohere into an astral plane. As the Tank slammed it's fists unto the ground, he leapt to avoid the tremors and landed closer to what used to be a car before aiming at it's forehead and p

Gundham woke up in complete darkness, slightly pained and significantly disoriented from the spontaneous shift of environment. Noticing how he is now in what might be a world of darkness, the first thing he did was to check for his hamsters.
"San-D, Jum-P, Cham-P, Maga-Z," he counted the Dark Devas within his scarf. Though the bird may no longer be present, at least his faithful companions are.

Now that the questions of whether or not his hamsters are still with him has been answered, a new question came into light: What is this dark void? It could be Limbo, it could be purgatory, or maybe even Hell itself. "Either of the three is fitting for a Dark Lord of Ice," he thought to himself, ready to accept such a fate as he ignores the unfamiliar murmurs in the darkness. Then the lights turned on...

He realized that he is stuck in what appears to be a laboratory with people whose names he have yet to know, though he has a feeling that they had experienced an ordeal just like the one that he remembered being involved in most recently. He spent the rest of his time making a guess on what might happen next, until a male voice from a speaker made itself known.

"Another one of these..." Gundham sighed in irritation. Just by the fact that he is standing in a room with numerous strangers gave him the guess that he is put in yet another Killing Game, with a different Mastermind who works for an apparently different reason: The search for knowledge. All that is lacking is an annoying animal that explains the rules. He listened to the voice for a while...

The talk about 'twins' and 'resonances' strike completely knew to him, just like how the babbles of 'hope' and 'despair' sounded esoteric when he witnessed he last participated in such violent events, simulated or not.

"Straightforward with your goals, disembodied voice," Gundham commented as the button showed itself. He noticed a woman (Wanda Maximoff) advance towards the button with the intent to press it, he began to make his own advance towards it, beginning to finalize his stance towards such actions.

"No!"

Arya shot across the room at a great speed, intercepting Wanda and Gundham before she could press the button. Arya glowed as she did so, Wanda's magic seemed momentarily ineffective on the girl.

"You would doom all these others just so that you may live?!" she spat. "You don't even know if what they say is even true!"

"It could be... part of the experiment," Pope said. "Our reactions, I mean. The button could do nothing at all. Though I... don't see any sort of equipment that could properly record us." Pope trailed off, speaking under her breath for a moment.

Arya shook her head. "Regardless, killing because someone allows us to, that's just..."

"However, to assume what we were told was fake could mean the worst for us all," Pope said, seeming to come back to her senses. "We can't deny the chance we may die."

"I just can't... believe this is happening." Arya looked away from the others. Judging from her expression, she was conflicted about stopping Wanda.

As for the Mandalorian, he could see a section of the wall that showed a single black line. It was a small indent that run up the wall eight inches.

The locker went to open suddenly slammed open with extreme force, almost knocking Luca right off his feet. More lockers in the room turned on in turn and the walls seemed to shift in some indiscernible way. Inside the open locker was a small alarm clock.

The exit to the room was slowly beginning to close. It seemed it would close completely in just a few seconds.

The voice transceiver came to life, emitting static.

"... is this nonsense?" said a male voice. He sounded familiar, though he was hard to hear over the static. "If you do not... this instant, I... but to leave."

@Capri

Then suddenly a blinding light broke through the darkness, flooding the area and assaulting Shigaraki's senses. He made a low groan as he closed his eyes tightly and scrunched his nose. After blinking to adjust to his now lit surroundings, he was confused. He ignored the muttering of the crowd, crossing his arms and curling into himself. He noted what looked like a camera peaking at them in the wall, his initial thought was to just disintegrate it- or the whole room.

kzzrt.

He whipped his head around as a speaker powered up, glaring in the general direction.

None of it made sense. He didn't want to be here, let alone work with others.

"This is stupid," he groaned- taking his hood off to scratch his neck intensely until he felt blood bead on his fingertips; a habit he'd developed in childhood due to trauma.

He walked to the one person who was alone, choosing to observe him.

The knockback only disoriented Luca slightly, but he regained himself when the receiver came to life.

“Can you hear me?” Luca spoke into the voice reciever, “Hello?”

Luca picked up the alarm clock before trying to open up another locker.

"An entire city just imploded on itself," Jose said, finally speaking up as he collected himself after all thst had happened. "And your immediate instinct is to try and kill a room full of strangers without bothering to consult with the rest of us, first?" He gave Wanda and Gundham a stern glare, rather disgusted. "Do the lives of others mean nothing to you? We don't know anything about these 'twins,' for all we know they're more innocent than us!" And they hadn't pressed any buttons yet, so clearly they had more of a moral hangup over this situation.

Perhaps this was just his own experience as a sailor speaking, but the mere thought of such instinctive selfishness when multiple lives were at stake was just...wrong to him. Of course, he was no saint, either, as his own selfishness had led to his being absent from that fateful voyage...but that's why he was still here, searching for them. And he would continue to search as he joined the two men off to the side. "Take in your surroundings before doing anything rash. There has to be a way to leave both rooms without any casualties..."

@Chaos Sphere @York @Gummi Bunnies @Space_Candy @Jeremi @Lucky @Yun Lee @Takumi

"But then why are we here?!" Arya exclaimed, thinking on what Jose said. "Together, like this?"

"We can't have more than four minutes now..." Pope said quietly.

As for what the Mandalorian was looking at, the gap in the wall seemed to suggest a panel could be removed.

@Chaos Sphere @York @Gummi Bunnies @Space_Candy @Jeremi @Lucky @Yun Lee @Takumi

There was static for a moment.

"... You are lucky," said the voice. "I was just about to walk out the door!" It sounded almost like the guy Luca and the others had rescued earlier, Alice.

"What are these infernal lockers? They seem like nonsense to me... Most are just empty!"

The next locker Luca opened was empty... though inside the letter C was engraved on the bottom

“I think…” Luca said to the other, looking at the engraved C, “they might just be our way out, but only if we work together,”

He peered back into the locker the alarm clock was in to see if there was any engraving.

“Look into those empty lockers once again. Are there any engravings? And were you able to find any other items? I found an alarm clock. On the bottom of one of the lockers is engraved the letter C. Is there anything similar on your end?”
