War: The First Crusade// Battle: The Battle for Minas Morgul
Mercy.
By the grace of the Matati, you and your people were rescued from oblivion.
He came you as your world crumbled. He offered you a second chance. A second home.
You took it.
With his support, your city thrived. Soon, your city grew into a nation. Your nation grew into a Kingdom.
The Matati isn't just your King.
He is your mentor. He is your mediator. He is your protector. He is your friend.
But in the eyes of some, he is an oppressor.
The idea of an undying, unchanging King unnerves the Kingdom of Mordor.
It's ruler, King Talion of Mordor, has denounced the Matati. He blames him for the troubles that plague the 25 Realms.
What started out as a exchange of harsh words has escalated into an open war.
Mordor does not fight alone. Some of its allies share Talion's dream of a 'Free' Patchworld. Others are fighting for their own self-interest.
Collectively known as the Dark Rebellion, Talion's army attempted to march on the Capital Kingdom three nights ago.
An Alliance of the Matati's Loyalists was formed to repel Talion's invasion. After a bloody battle at the Capital's Gates, the First Great Alliance successfully forced Mordor's armies to retreat.
Seeking retribution for the lives lost at the Capital's Gates, the Great Alliance now marches on Mordor's capital city- Minas Morgul- to stamp out the Dark Rebellion once and for all.
The Matati has called for a Crusade. The 25 Nations are each required to commit a fraction of their forces to the coming conflict, lest they be counted among the legions of the Matati's foes...

Pledging Units
Once a war is declared, the parties involved are presented with an opportunity to pledge troops to the coming conflicts.
In simpler terms, each player 'donates' some of their stats in order to boost the strength of their alliance. The more stat points you donate, the greater your reward will be in the event your Alliance wins the war. The more stat points you donate, the more powerful your alliance will become.

Remember:
-
If you are involved in a war, you must donate at least 1 (one) stat point.
- If you are participating in a war, you must send at least one of your generals into battle.
- You can donate units to fight in areas where your generals are not present. For example, you can donate Naval units, even if you generals are only fighting on Land. These units will still increase the strength of your alliance, but they will be fighting off-screen. You will only 'play' as the troops accompanying your generals, for simplicity's sake.
- If you wish, you can send your Ruler off to war too. If you do so, you will greatly boost your Ruler's reputation and allow you to personally control more soldiers.
- Anybody on the battlefield can die.
- You do not want your Ruler to die. Keep this in mind when you're choosing which of your leaders to send off to war.
- If the war is going poorly, you can retreat with your generals and any remaining units. You can do this at any time. Sometimes it's better to cut your losses and live to fight another day. Doing so will weaken your Alliance, however.
- You can donate as many Stat Points as you like, but remember to leave some points in the bank. You don't want to leave your Kingdom undefended while you're off fighting overseas.
-There will be a chance to regain/ boost your stats later on. Don't worry.
First Great Alliance:
Land: 8 Naval: 16 Air: 14
Dark Rebellion:
Land: 17 Naval: 10 Air: 20

The First Great Alliance Dominates the Seas.
The Dark Rebellion Dominates the Skies.
The Dark Rebellion
has the advantage on Land.
Advantages
Advantages play a big role in deciding who is going to win a battle. Simply put, an advantage is earned when one alliance's stats are larger than their opponents in a given field. For example, the First Great Alliance has a stronger Navy than the Dark Rebellion. Thus it will be easier for the First Great Alliance to win a battle at sea. It's more difficult to win a battle without an advantage, but there are always ways to turn the tide IC. Fighting effectively with your generals is a great way to do this!

Remember
  • If one Alliance's stats are larger than another, the stronger Alliance will be able to 'dominate' a certain part of the battlefield.
  • If an Alliance dominates a part of the battlefield for too long, the weaker nation will stat to lose stat points.
- When a Nation runs out of stat points, their army will be defeated. The victorious army will control that part of the battlefield, and will be able to drive back other army types.
- It is up to an Alliance's Generals to turn the tide. By defeating enemy soldiers, an Alliance is able to decrease the enemy's stats and turn the tide.
  • You won't always need to annihilate an enemy army. You only need to defeat enough troops and generals to force an enemy Kingdom to cut their losses and retreat.
  • Even if alliance is at a disadvantage, the right strategy can help to even the odds.
  • Use your heads. Divide an conquer. Distract, cheat and fight dirty to keep your allies alive.
- If a General dies, their troops will become demoralized, and their Alliance's stats will drop greatly. Target enemy Generals to turn the tides in your favor!

LAND- The Battle of the Black Earth
The Forces of Mordor engage the Forces of Hyrule
The Dark Rebellion has an advantage.

The corpse of another mighty orc- a foot soldier of Mordor -falls to the ground, having been slain by a Hylian arrow. Even in death, the creature continues to suffer humiliation at the hands of the forces of Minas Morgul. It's beaten flesh is pounded to pulp by the feet of a thousand wailing orcs. They care not for their fallen ally. They care for nothing but the hunt. They care for nothing but the thrill of war. Their rusted weapons and stained teeth shine with every flash of distant thunder. The Orcs march forth like sickening, stinking wave. They bring death whether they go. Hylian soldiers are falling left right and center. They don't just bring death. They have become death.

"FOR THE BRIGHT LORD!"
An orc screams over the groan clattering of steel and the wails of the wounded. His mace meets skull of one of a Wind Tribe Diviner. The Orc bathes himself in the blood of man-filth.
"DEATH TO THE MATATI! DEATH TO THE BASTARD KI--"
A Hylian blade divorces the Orc's head from his shoulders. The Creature of Mordor's lips continue to tremor and twitch even though his fate has been sealed. The Hylian takes a moment to breathe. It's his last mistake. He is crushed beneath the fist of Wretched Graug- a brutish Mordian Giant- a moment later.
View attachment 8236
"GGHHHAHAAAAGGGHHH!!!!"
The Beasts of War are marching today. Pity all the men who stand in their path.
The Graug swings its great arms at the heart of a Hylian battalion. A dozen soldiers are set flying like drops of water from a crashing wave. The Captain of the Battalion scurries across the battlefield on his back. He lost his sword an hour ago. His are lost to him too. He is helpless. Afraid. All he can do is crawl. All he can do is pray that some divine hand spares him from the weight of the charging Graug.
He closes his eyes and waits for the inevitable. It never comes. He opens his eyes to see the shadow of the Graug's foot hovering above him. He opens his eyes to see the shadow of a woman and her great sword standing between him and death's embrace.

"Rise. The battle is not yet won!"
Impa, the last of the Sheikah and the final, triumphant General of Hyrule, pushes against her great blade. She tips the lumbering beast onto its back as if it were weightless.
"Rise! For you Queen fights for you today!"
In a flash of gold, the Graug's float is slit. Queen Zelda lands at the beast's side. Her thin blade is stained with black, Mordorian blood.
View attachment 8238
"We aren't... we aren't beaten yet..." She hums, hiding her fading strength the best she can. She offers the soldier a bloody hand. "Our allies in the west will be here soon." She spins her sword around in her hand. She offer the Captain its hilt. He takes her blade. "We just need to hold out until then. Just another few minutes. Do you think you can do that, soldier?"
The Captain nods.
"Good. More soldiers will be upon us any minute now. We'll need every man on his feet when they arrive. Go. Join up with the others."
The Captain nods again. A glimmer of hope shines in his tired eyes. He sprints over a ridge and vanishes in the evening fog.
"Are you certain, your highness?" Impa squints, approaching her queen. "Do you truly believe that we can do this?"
"I don't know what I believe in, dear Impa..." The Queen smiles softly. "But I have hope."
"What good will hope do when we're all being roasted over an orc dinner-fire?"
"It won't do us much good then, no..." She chuckles. "But for every moment until then? Hope shall sustain us. Our allies will arrive in time. They must."
The cries of a hundred more orcs screech over the horizon, their armor glowing in the light of distant fires. Impa lowers her stance once again. She raises her weapon. She stares Mordor's reinforcements.
"And if they do not come?"
"Then we will fall... but we will fall gloriously knowing that we bought our people even a few more moments of freedom."
Impa stares death in the face. She smiles.
"I can't think of a better end to our story, your highness."

"There she is, boys!" Bruz, the leader of the reinforcements cheers. "Focus on the Queen! Bring me 'er spine! I've been meaning to buy a new backscratcher!"
The wall of Orcs charges towards the scattered forces of Hyrule. With a valiant cry, the forces of Hyrule march towards their foes.
They're outnumbered 2 to 1. Without assistance, they won't last long

The Forces of Mordor and Kingdom Cold engage the Forces of Sparda.
The Dark Rebellion has an advantage.

The Jaws of a Nazgul's Fellbeast open wide, spraying a wave of emerald flames over the forces of the First Great Alliance. The charred steel bodies of a dozen Alto Angels fall from the skies like silver meteors. The Nazgul doesn't pay the screaming Angels a moment of thought. His attention is fixed upon their still-breathing brothers. He feels a wave of fear wash over them. It burns twice as bright and three times as fiercely as any fire. Yes. The Nazgul can taste it. He raises his sword. His brothers charge forth. Flames roar and more Angels fall.

The Nazgul are silent. They have no words for the forces of Fortuna. Men rarely exchange words with their meals.

[BOOM]

The wall of flames is shattered by a dark sword and shield. The Dark Knight of Fortune pieces the Nazgul's chest with his blade. In a flash of smoke, the Ringwraith vanishes, fleeing to safe shores. Credo knows he'll be back. He can sensing plotting his return, even now. But his charge secured his men another inch of sky. He doesn't take the time to enjoy his victory. His mind is already turning to the next battle.

Cannon fire shakes Mordor's Eastern Coast. The Brotherhood's finest led cannon balls bounce harmlessly off of the armored hull of the Plasma Frigate. The Brotherhood Captain trembles. All he has succeeded in doing is attracting the mighty ship's attention. The Frigate slowly turns to face it's 'attacker'. It engines roar and groan. It's large, front-mounted canon is line up with the Brotherhood's vessel's wooden hull. Decades of impossible scientific discover stares the Brotherhood Captain in the face. His crew abandon ship.
"Sacre Deus..."
A blast of pressurized, cold air blasts the Man o' War into splinters.
"Adéwalé!" An assassin calls out to his king. "We cannot sink that devil-machine! We don't stand a chance!"
The Grim General of the Brotherhood falls silent for a heartbeat. He tightens his grip around his ships's wheel. His eyes meet those of the Plasma General that stands upon the Frigate's deck, taunting him.
"Let all the fathers of children flee. Let them return home to their families."

"The rest of us... all who wish to remain... prepare to ram Her."
"Captain?" His first mate protests. "You surely don't intend to--"
"My ship has seen better days. We all have. I'd rather see her sunk off Mordor's coast than rotting in some Caribbean Shipyard. The same goes for me. But I won't force you to share my fate, friend. You have served me as well as the Experto Crede herself. Go, if you wish. We'll board the Frigate if we can... drag her down with us..."
Adéwalé's first mate bestows one final salute upon him. His captain rewards him with a final slap on the back.
The Frigate's canon fires again. Another explosion rocks the seas. A dozen more ships are sent to Davy Jones' locker. But Adéwalé steers true. The Experto Crede soars from wave to wave. The General raises his hand high.

Before

Nynaeve was sitting in the throne room of Caemlyn, next to the lion’s throne. It had felt wrong of her to sit where her friend had once stood. She wasn’t even their queen, not in the way that mattered. Even though through her marriage to Lan Mandragora she herself had become the queen that didn’t mean anything. She was Aes Sedai of the Yellow Ajah, and that is what she would have been for the rest of her long life.

Fate however had other plans. Now she ruled over a patchwork of citizens from every corner of her world. They had thought this was for the best. While Mat no doubt had as many titles and the support to take the throne he had a different idea. Not bloody likely. Was the first thing that escaped from his mouth when the question was asked. Birgitte’s words echoed his statement with some more added vulgarity. So the task had fallen to her. The queen without a country. Nynaeve subconsciously tugged at her braid before the opening of the throne room door made her let go in a shock. A habit Nynaeve thought she had already discarded but managed to creep back in times of stress like this. War was brewing, and that means ordering a war council.

Matrim Cauthon and Birgitte Silverbow almost stepped in unison through the doors before they closed behind them. Mat and Nynaeve had grown up in the same village and she knew him well. A scoundrel and a cad, but somehow he had risen to the second in the lead of the Seanchan empire. Though it probably was because of those same attributes she had already mentioned. Birgitte was a friend, a legend. One that would endlessly be born again as the Pattern willed it. Nynaeve expected not to see her again after the final battle but here she was. In the flash again. No one was sure how this had happened, but she was willing to fight again with her bow and arrows. She was also the first to speak.

“The room is so…empty.” She was right of course. Nynaeve had decided that when questions of war arose that only she and her trusted generals would take part. Right now the throne room was empty except for the three.

“The Last Battle,” Mat scoffed as he took a seat at the war table. “Blood and bloody ashes, they should’ve called it the second to Last Battle.”

“I really don’t have time for your japes,” Nynaeve replied annoyed to Mat. “The situation is already delicate and now we’re off to war.”

“But on whose side?” Brigitte asked.

“That’s what we’re here to try and figure out,” Nynaeve asked before the trio fell into silence. No one didn’t seem to be keen to say a word. “Oh please, don’t let me interrupt.”

“You’re our queen,” Mat snapped back. “You’re supposed to give us lowly generals orders and we’ll follow them.”

Nynaeve glared daggers at Mat. If he hadn’t been wearing that medallion of his he’d be feeling a swift slap of air across his bottom. He probably knew that too. “I asked for your opinion, you wool headed sheepherder, because, Light preserve us, I trust your judgment.”

“Well in that case,” Mat exclaimed with a smug smirk on his lips. “I suggest we throw our lot in with Mordor.”

Nynaeve didn’t seem to like that answer. “To throw ourselves with the forces of darkness?”

“Not darkness, though I will admit some of them has some…monstrous aids on their side. That doesn’t mean that they are in the wrong in this fight.” Mat had thought about it for a while now and this was the only thing that made sense to him.

“But Matati rescued as many as he could from our world when the calamity hit,” Nynaeve replied. “How can we stand against him now? We’ve had peace here. It’s the forces of Mordor that started this.”

Brigitte spoke up. “Rescued us from the calamity. Or caused it?”

The queen groaned in annoyance. “Don’t start with this again.” They had had this conversation so many times right now that there really was no point to continue on it. “Does that mean that you think we should side with Mordor and those…things as well?”

“I didn’t say that,” Birgitte remarked. “But I will say that this is not as cut and dry as it seems. Yes, we were rescued from certain doom, allowed to grow in peace, but we aren't the same. There’s an invisible leash around our neck, and I don’t think we can be fully in peace before it’s broken.”

Peace was something they would never get, Nynaeve thought to herself. All of them had lost someone when the calamity hit. Loved ones, friends, country. Everything. Some times it felt like it would have been better for all of them to perish. This wasn’t mercy in the way that Matati probably thought. A gilded cage was still just that. A cage. “Even so…” Nynaeve was eager to administer advice, but she was having a difficulty to adjust as her role as queen. “Alright, then what we should do next is…”

Now

Land

The battle was in full force as the land units found an explosion erupting in the middle of the field as a new force made their presence felt. On horseback in the front was Mat pointed his spear towards the battlefield. “Men…for Mordor!” Mat's plan was to cut off any reinforcements ready to join with the Hyrule forces. The fewer enemy forces the easier it would be for Mat's plan to succeed.

Air

Meanwhile, the Nazgul's fell beasts were joined by a group of soldiers riding on what seemed to be their smaller and nicer cousins. "For Mordor!" Birgitte shouted from atop one of the raken as she readied her bow. Their target was the main commander but for the time being they would do their best to harass battalion of Alto Angels coming up before them.

VESUVIA
Vesuvia was, in cruder terms, a shithole in it's past. There was almost no chance that, when the world began to end, Vesuvia would survive long.
Then... the Matati came. They offered the Countess a chance to reform the city, and so she did.
The nation now thrives with its famous canals and aqueducts. The people are happy, as is the Countess.
All of this was thanks to the Matati.
This is why Vesuvia has joined the First Great Alliance, as thanks for their modern prosperity.

They readied their ax, Vesuvia's army whooped and cheered as the soldiers readied their weapons.

They raised their ax and released a mighty bellow.
"THEN WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR? LET'S PAINT THE GROUND RED WITH MORDOR’S BLOOD! FOR HYRULE!!!"

The warmonger's cry caused the troops to charge. Their weapons at the ready as they intended to perform the best defense, a great offense.

And standing in the middle of it all, a smile spread inhumanly across their face, reveling in the chaos

THE BATTLE OF THE BLACK COAST
A boy stood on the bow of a warship that was cutting through the sea, his puffy white hair blowing in the breeze.

The crew of said warship was bustling around them, preparing their battle stations. The boats were guided by magic, the magic of the boy on the bow.

Footsteps approached the boy, and without even seeing her he knew who it was.
He didn't even turn when he began to speak.
"The waters are calm today,"
An amused chuckle came from the woman behind him.

"Yes, almost too calm for what we're sailing into..."

The boy turned to the woman, a mischievous grin on his face.

"I hope General Ghetsis doesn't mind our late entrance,"
The woman smiled at the boy and responded.

"I wonder what Mordor's local delicacy is like..."
"Since when did you become Volta?"
"I'm just curious is all,"
"Well, I heard it was pumpkin bread and Golden Goose,"
"Hey! That's our delicacy! Now they have it coming!"
The two let out genuine laughter.

The Countess, Nadia Satrinava, was someone who was loved by the people, and with good reason. She was considered just by the people, always giving them a say in public politics. Support for her was high purely because she always did what the people wanted even if it was against her own "will". Even if it meant releasing Vulgora from the dungeon.

The boy turned back to the water before standing up.
"We're approaching! EVERYONE! GET INTO POSITIONS!"
The crew began to scramble, and Vesuvia's flag was raised high. The other ships followed suit, and the ship soon entered the warzone.

Cannons began to fire at the enemy warships, and Nadia's commanding voice took hold.
"Those are Brotherhood ships! Remember! Only attack the warships! We need to prevent civilian casualties!"
The boy began to shout as well.

"Position your warships around the Plasma Frigate! Make sure no Brotherhood ships get even close to General Ghetsis! For Plasma!"
The ships followed the orders to a tee. They positioned themselves around the Plasma Frigate, and fired upon the Brotherhood warships. Nadia's ship took the rear, and standing on the bow of the ship, once again...

Britannia - Before the battle...

❝ Your departure for this new war is soon, right? ❞ C.C. commented in a matter-of-fact tone. It had been a few hours after the military debriefing regarding the situation at hand.

❝ Correct. I reckon that this is a good opportunity to make ourselves known for possible alliances in the long run. ❞ Lelouch answered with a clear sense of determination on what he was going to do from this point onward. A dry laugh soon followed that. ❝ How ironic can this be? All this work toward claiming the emperor's throne, and we're left with more to deal with than expected. ❞

The code bearer could only reply to that. ❝ Silencing a rebellion only adds to that irony, Lelouch. I also take it that you only made this decision because it's the most convenient for the future? ❞

❝ Correct again. You already know me so well. Making our place in the First Great Alliance will give us great mileage for later on. What lies beyond that? Well... you'll see for yourself. ❞ The young emperor chuckled at how she was able to pinpoint where he was going with this, glancing over to see the immortal "witch" getting herself comfortable on the bed.

❝ That, I shall. Just don't forget about our contract. ❞

❝ I won't. ❞ With that, Lelouch left the room, leaving C.C. by herself.

Air - The Battle of the Black Heavens
[Forces pledged: 3]

An incoming flash of vibrant green steadily advanced toward the scene, a sudden beam fired off into the general direction of the Nazgul battalion. The source of the beam traced back to what was once that speeding green flash, revealed to be a white mech. Otherwise known as the Knightmare Frame, the Lancelot Albion.

81f05006cb69af2291e853f562b8ae5e.png

❝ This is Britannia's Knight of Zero, Suzaku Kururugi, reporting in! ❞ A voice echoed from the Lancelot Albion's intercom, soon followed with accompanied by Britannia's aerial forces arriving with the mass-produced Vincent Ward units. For the sole purpose of being in the air, the Knightmares were fitted with a Float System attachment on the back, much like a jetpack. It wasn't much due to needing to keep their most valuable air units back at the empire's capital, but it would do.

❝ Ready yourselves to provide supporting fire, but don't advance too far from our allies. Protect General Credo at all costs. Understood? ❞

❝❝❝ YES, MY LORD! ❞❞❞

With the unified response from the Britannian aerial Knightmares announced, Suzaku began to assess the situation to determine what to do, based off on what he was told by Lelouch. Despite telling his forces to mainly defend and support, Suzaku had himself in the Lancelot Albion slowly advance, readying the blue VARIS rifle wielded in one hand and unsheathing a sword with the other.

Land - The Battle of the Black Earth
[Forces pledged: 4]

Arriving to the battlefield in the Shinkiro's fortress mode, Lelouch landed himself near the Hylian forces, transitioning his Knightmare from fortress mode to battle mech mode. Like it was a visual cue the moment that the Britannian emperor made himself known, the Britannian infantry soldiers and ground Knightmares came into view.

❝ Assume the proposed square formation. Follow the advancement route according to your place in the formation. Until I give further instruction, we will only advance as planned. That is an order from your emperor. ❞ Lelouch commanded via the intercoms to his forces.

❝❝❝ YES, YOUR MAJESTY! ALL HAIL LELOUCH! ❞❞❞

A resounding chant came from the Britannian forces, and then they did as the young emperor commanded. They slowly advanced. Their square formation soon didn't look like a square at all, the left and right wings of the formation soon breaking away to spread out and advancing at a slightly faster pace than the heart and center of the Britannian forces, where Lelouch piloting the Shinkiro was located. That square formation would eventually become like a crescent moon shape, aiming to surround the enemy forces from Mordor to cut off reinforcements and possible escape routes. With this, he planned to remain near the commanding forces of the Hylian army, Zelda and Impa. It wouldn't do them any good if they were to fall in battle, including himself. Yet he was firm in his decision to be active in battle.

❝ Preparations are in order to provide support from here on out. ❞ Lelouch announced from the Shinkiro's intercom to allied participants of this battle, already inputting calculations into the Knightmare's console. ❝ Let our cooperation open up the chance for a striking checkmate, shall we? ❞

"It is imperative that the Ironblood forces stay to guard our front. The Sakura forces will provide strength to The First Great Alliance. It's important that as Masters of the Seas, we should coexist with other masters of the seas. Granted, we cannot fully trust them yet, so we need to be wary."

1.png

"Understood, Commander," Bismarck replies.

changmen.png

"Expect no less than perfect performance from me," Nagato declares as she prepares to head off.

"Lady Nagato," the Commander walks towards Nagato and pats her on the head.

"Please do not treat me like a child."

"Nein, nein, I will not. But I will tell you not to push yourself. Perfection is ideal, but one who gets lost in seeking it will never achieve it. I will prepare various mass-production units to aid our allies. The Zerstorers are the most neccessary, but it is imperative that the Flugzeugtragers and the Schlachtschiffs are deployed as part of the backbone as well."

"What?" Nagato tilts her head in confusion."

"Sorry, force of habit," Commander scratches his head, "Destroyers, Aircraft Carriers, Battleships."

"Your help is well appreciated. I will use it well."

"Hail Ironblood, Glory to the Sakura Empire and Long Live the Crimson Axis," Commander saluted.

NAVAL- The Battle of the Black Coast

(5 points for naval forces have been pledged to The First Great Alliance)

In this battle, the Crimson Axis, the faction that called the Sakura Empire Kingdom its home, had arrived. Most of its forces were mass-produced ships - which in a traditional sense, were the seafaring steel beasts used in World Wars, except unmanned. Warships of different hull types - Destroyers and Cruisers moving forward to attack, Aircraft Carriers and Battleships staying behind to serve as a backbone - they were all here to partake in this fierce battle. Submarines lurked below the waters, slowly but surely homing in to the key target.

The Destroyers and Cruisers were already opening fire at the enemy fleets.

These mass-productions were each emblazoned with a golden logo resembling a flower.

A youthful-looking animal-eared girl danced atop the ridges of the Plasma Frigate in a graceful manner, displaying perfect balance, through and through. She looks towards the Plasma Grunts that patrolled its decks.

0.png

"I despise war very much, so I will use my power to end it. Coexistence... that is your desire as well, is it not?"

A pinkish circle appeared below the Plasma Frigate, and its properties would serve to boost the power of the Plasma Frigate and other units within a 200 metre radius of it. Whatever it was, it was specifically bound to the Plasma Frigate and would move with it as long as it stayed on water.

The girl jumped off the ridges and back onto the wooden boards of the Plasma Frigate, observing the battle from a perspective. Her hands moved from time to time, motioning for some of the mass-produced ships to shift from their autopilot modes to allow for her to control them, and back when she deemed appropriate.

jiangfeng_2.png

"Lady Nagato," the youthful girl's Vanguard appeared from the shadows, "how may I be of use to you?"

"Control the Vanguard fleet for me, Kawakaze. That is all I request until we are ready to be properly deployed for battle," the youthful girl, Nagato, responds.

As they puppeteer the fleet, Nagato gazes into the distance, analysing every aspect of the battle to determine her next move.

"Now then, whatever shall we do next?"

PROLOGUE: The Shadow of War

View attachment 8235

The wall of flames is shattered by a dark sword and shield. The Dark Knight of Fortune pieces the Nazgul's chest with his blade. In a flash of smoke, the Ringwraith vanishes, fleeing to safe shores.

You have served me as well as the Experto Crede herself. Go, if you wish. We'll board the Frigate if we can... drag her down with us..."
Adéwalé's first mate bestows one final salute upon him. His captain rewards him with a final slap on the back.

Before

Zuko stared down at the map of the 'old world' as one could call it; the four nations staring back at him. The Watertribes and the Earth Kingdom. His gaze remained on the Fire Nation specifically. After the trouble caused by the New Ozai Society, the 'Safe Nation Society', and the scare of what the people thought were the Kemurikage of legend, having a war so soon after regaining some semblance of peace seemed like nothing more than a bad omen.

"Fire Lord, Avatar Aang and Lady Suki have arrived." A guard spoke as he entered the room, bowing as he did so.

"Let them in, we have quite a bit to discuss." He spoke up, not looking up from the map for a moment before straightening. Once the guard left, both Aang and Suki entered the room.

"Please, sit. We're gonna be here a while." The Fire Lord sighed, and once they were all seated he couldn't help but show his worry.

"Mordor and their forces are going to be some...formidable oppenents, but if you lead some troops on the air front Aang, as well as you leading ground troops Suki, I have no doubt about us putting up a fight. However, you'll only have so many tanks among your forces Suki, since a good number of them will remain here for defense." Zuko outlined. Both Suki and Aang shared a look, before Aang glanced to the Fire Lord and scratched his head.

"What about the navy?" He asked, earning a smile from his friend.

"I'll be helping them." He replied, and before the two could voice any protests held up his hand.

"I thought it over, I've been active in the last stages of the hundred year war, and I've been at sea for three years of it. I won't sit by while this threatens my people, at the very least, if things get bad I'll call a retreat." He reasoned.

"And if...if you fall?" Suki asked, a frown on her features. Silence followed, as Zuko thought it over.

"I put something in place in case." He muttered, not necessarily happy about it, but knowing it was for the best if the worst were to happen.

"You did?" Aang asked with a raised brow, earning a nod from the Fire Lord.

"Yeah, I did. If it'll keep Ozai off the throne, then it's likely for the best." Zuko replied, before moving on to the rest of the plan they'd need to go over.

Being at sea was familiar, even if it wasn't too long since he was on a Fire Nation ship. He let the sun warm him and gave a small prayer to Agni as his fleet advanced.

"Get in position and assist the Vesuvian and Sakura fleets in assisting the Plasma Frigate! Ready the catapults, but don't fire them until I say so!" Zuko called, keeping his eye on the enemy ships as his men scrambled to get the catapults into position.

Once the catapults were at the ready, each had at least two Firebenders at the ready to light them.

"Sisters! Make formation and help with defending the Queen! Captain, you and your men provide cover fire for our allies and help stop that advance! For Hyrule!!" Came Suki's command followed by a rallying cry as she led a small number of her Kiyoshi Warriors and Fire Nation soldiers into battle atop Komodo Rhinos among a few tanks trailing behind. Some of the Kiyoshi Warriors followed their leader as they broke from the formation to aid Lelouch, Zelda, and Impa while the tanks moved in to aid with the defensive, the Firebenders ready to releaae hot streams on any advancing Orcs.

A batallion of red airships came into view, with the Fire Nation insignia along their sides. In the one leading the fleet was one Avatar Aang.

"Oh Monkeyfeathers, that's not good." Aang muttered at the sight of what looked like a dragon or bird on fire. The man beside him turned his head and seemed a bit nervous at the reaction from the Avatar, and the Airbender met his gaze.

Clearing his throat, Aang's expression became determined.

"Alright, let's aid the First Great Alliance! Get me closer Captain, I want most of the fleet to stay on the defensive, while a few advance like we discussed earlier! Once there's an opening, we try and separate the enemy forces." He spoke.

"Understood." The man bowed, before turning to the intercom system to relay the message.

Converge on me!" Zelda commands. Her back strikes Impa's. Her fleeting force does its best to fight its way through the bodies of a seemingly endless supply of orcs. A thinly-spread army was orc fodder. Compact and secure, the Hylians would be strong enough to endure at least a few more moments in Mordor's stinking flesh-sea. "Protect yourselves, brothers! [ B O O M ]

The sudden arrival of the Rebellion's Caemlyn Calvary shakes the fading resolve of the Hylian army.
"They're flanking us!" Impa cries in fury and despair. "They're cutting off our roots! Our supply lines! We need to divide our focus!"
"We lack the strength!" Zelda's sword pierces the chest of another zealous orc. She withdraws her blade from the wailing creature and pushes it onto its back. "We can't afford to split up!"
"We have to do something!" Impa's great-sword turns one orc into two. "We can't just huddle here and wait to fall! Your highness! What do we do!?"
"Pray."
The Hylians huddle together as the forces of the Dark Rebellion rushed their flanks. They struck down any Orc that got too close... but for every orc they felled, two more seemed to rise to take its place.

V E S U V I A
The Vesuvians weren't met with cheers or praise. They were instead greeted with audible sighs of relief. Perhaps the Hylians would live to see the days end after all.
"It was just as I said, Impa..." Zelda blew a wet ribbon of hair from her face. "We still have some allies in the North. Welcome to the front lines, General--" The Queen ran her sword along another Uruk's throat. "Tragically, we cannot give you a typical Hylian welcome. We'll have to save our pleasantries until after the day is won!"
With a cry of excursion, Zelda grabs the shoulders of one of her advancing foes and pushes him into his brothers.
"Hylians! Vesuvians! On me!"
The Queen takes a step forward. She secures her people another inch of ground.
"Push! Push!"

The arrival of Britannia forces was nothing short of a Godsend.
Discipline. It is a word few Orcs are familiar with. Britannia's crescent-front curled around Mordor's forces, holding them in place. The forces of Britannia slowly crept around their flanks and closed in like noose.

"Globs!" Brûz curses as his forces scramble over one and other in the hopes of getting a step closer towards enemy lines. "Shrankin' Globs!"

Stunned by the sudden diversification of the First Great Alliance's forces, the Orcs are placed on their back feet. But they still have numbers on their side. Even with the support of two additional kingdoms, the land army of the First Great Alliance is still dwarfed by the Dark Rebellion. But the gap between the two is slowly closing. The Orcs are slowly adapting to Britannia's new formation, but they aren't adapting fast enough.
The Land Forces of the Kingdom of Mordor:

"Get 'em!" Brûz snorts, signaling with his gauntlet. "Dinner time!"
Brûz's snarling is drowned by a louder, hungrier snarl. 6 Caragors- the apex predators of the Kingdom of Morodr- leap over the Mordorian Line.

Their savage minds were conquered by the Bright Lord long ago. Enacting his will, the pack breaks into two. Half of the Caragors scramble up the Knightmare's armored hull, scratching its steel with their claws and fangs all the white. The second pack turns towards the Alliance's front line. "You enslave nature in your quest for flight! Despicable! The Heavens are not for you to claim, woman!"

Another Ringwraith breathes in deeply. Yes. A boy is approaching the battlefield from the East. He senses his fear and confusion. He tastes that of his crew.
Yes. That is what he shall do...
What better way to shatter the will of a foe that with a flaming airship? Such a burning beacon would be seen for miles around. It would stain the skies, glowing as a final reminder of the futility of the Alliance's quest.
Soaring towards the Fire Nation's, the Wraith commanded his mount with the swing of his hammer. On his command, the Fellbeast unleashed a stream of flames towards the airship's canvas balloon, seeking to ignite whatever gases hid inside of it.

Before Vesuvia’s forces could reach the front line, Britannian and Firebender troops arrived. Both of them whittled away at Mordor’s troops.

Nadia placed a hand on Asra's shoulder, their powers now shared. Soon, soldiers who have magical knowledge each place their hands on Asra and Nadia, and later each other. Their powers amplified, Asra points a staff towards the Experto Crede.

The gap between the two air-forces is closing. The two armies are approaching a stalemate.

What the bloody hell was those big metallic things?! Mat thought to himself as the saw the mechs joining the battle, and then another, and another. Nynaeve would box his ears so bad they'd probably fall off. Well, he had won tougher battles than. The dice in his head were still rattling as he moved forward. Seeing the firebenders caused him to smirk.

It was time for their own fireworks.

Suddenly portals emerged out of thin air from where men in black clothes emerged. "Asha'man!" Mat shouted. "By my signal! Light them up!" With a raised spear the command came into effect. For the others watching it seemed like they were only doing some intricate movement with their hands but the effect was almost instantaneous. The First Great Alliances frontlines was suddenly engulfed with explosions and the ground under them starting to shift and split like an avalanche of dirt.

As this was happening a number of Deathwatch guard broke off to flank Mat on either side. Two Asha'man were behind two of the guardsmen. The large frame of Ogier deathwatch guard took the flank and who despite the heavy armor and size held his speed with the horses. This little contingent was going to use the chaos that the Asha'man had created to try and get closer to the ruler of Hyrule. Mat has surmised that if they took her out of commission the rest would quickly lose heart. Now they just had to get close enough to enact the plan.

Birgitte knew that one of them would have to learn to fly one of the rakens, and somehow Birgitte knew it would fall on her. As Credo swung it looks like the Caemlyn general begins to fall when her saddle starts to slide as the raken turns. Instead of falling however she grabs another arrow and fires it right towards Credo's head as the raken twirls to the side away from any oncoming attacks. She had nothing to say to this man, and Brigitte suspected that she would not care to have this man with her during a pub crawl either.

Once upon a time... In a nameless realm, a powerfull entity existed.

But for all its power, complete and absolute, it had nothing to stake its claim upon.

For there was nothing else that would ever exist, aside from it.

Ultimately, this entity became lonely.

It yearned for something... Anything, other than itself.

And so, one day... It gathered all of its strength in its body, and decided to change this.

An explosion of light filled the empty void, and soon, the being was no more.

In its place, was a great galaxy.

And its soul would soon seed life throughout it.

The entity had lost all physical form.

But yet, its soul was happy, shattered as it was.

For finally, it was not alone.

Whatever may happen next, would be up to its childen now...

...

Before The Battle

The Starchild nation had grown quite formideable over its years in Patchworld. Though they were far from the space faring race they once had been, their cities were still a sight to behold.

A strange fusion of technology and nature, they were each developed with both the comfort, and the security of its inhabitants in mind.

But as much as Elysia Rivas wished otherwise, peace was but a fleeting hope. A pipe dream that may never come to be, so long as there are disagreements throughout these lands.

Though the Dark Rebellion had reasons Elysia could understand to take up arms... She felt it was only the right thing to doto support the Alliance, and protect the very peace she so yearned for.

After all, she and Matati had much in common. Though she could not remember what terrible she and her people had been rescued from, she knew for a fact that she too had ruled for a very long time.

On the other hand, she did wonder if perhaps some reform must be made, once the Dark Rebellion has been quelled?

Nonetheless, as news came flooding in of the current events unfolding amongst the battlefront, Elysia would soon begin to plan her own countermeasures.

Calling forth her generals, she prepared for yet another battle.

...

They gathered in a secluded room in their capital city, bathing in the radiation of one of Star Artifact powering this sector.

It was inconspicuous, and easy enough of a location to change. So should any part of the city be damaged, Elysia could easily arrange another place to meet.

And this way, should there one day be spies amongst their ranks, it would become difficult to find where Elysia truly was.

"Zayne! You are to join the front lines. We will commit the bulk of our land forces to aid the Alliance! The Dark Rebellion must be stopped, no matter the cost. But please... Take are not to go too... Overboard this time, got that?"

Concern creased Elysia's brow as she peered closely at her loyal general. It seemed his attitude towards battle did not always align with her views. But, there must be a reason why he was one of her most trusted generals, right?

"As you wish, my queen. Mordor won't stand a chance this time!"

Zayne offered a rather stiff salute, as if Elysia's words were ignored, only seeming to worry the ruler further.

"... Please don't call me that. I'm a leader, nothing more. I beg of you to think for yourself."

This made him pause for a moment, his stature faltering as he monetarily struggled to form a sentence.

"I-..."

He lost his composure, just for a moment, but even as he appeared to be a little more... Genuine with Elysia, a sudden shout from behind them made him stiffen up again, returning to that rigid, attentive posture from earlier.

"Fiora Torres, reporting in! Air force is ready for battle!"

At last, both generals have gathered here... But Fiora seemed to immediately freeze, on the spot, having just realized what she had accidentally walked in on the midst of.

As if she already knew what Zayne was going to say, she elbowed him gently.

"Hey. You'll be fine, alright? It's not the number of people you kill in that matters. It's how many people we can protect. Now that's a number to be proud of!" She said.

There was a slow nod from Zayne, and a smile slowly spread across his face as he locked eyes with Fiora for a moment, as if coming to a kind of mutual understanding before he turned back to Elysia.

"Not to worry! I live to fight for our people! But... Don't think I've forgotten about your dream of peace! I'll be glad, the day I no longer have to use my strength in battle!" He said, beginning to shout again with renewed vigor.

It brought out a smile from Elysia herself, as she breathed a sigh of relief.

"Then you two have no time to waste. Alright? But rememember. You aren't just fighting for us. You too, are my people too."

There was that frown again, for the briefest of moments as Elysia thought about what she had said, then let out a laugh.

"Oh silly me! What I meant was; come home in one peace. Both of you!"
She said.

Though it was just a rumor, both Fiora and Zayne tilted their heads, and couldn't help but wonder if it was really true. That Elysia could practically feel her fellow starchildren's thoughts, should she choose to.

Regardless, they both nodded, said their parting words, and went their seperate ways.

Elysia herself would return to her quarters, watching over not just the battle, but her nation itself.

Should the enemy choose to attack her on her home turf, she would be ready.

Zayne Ellis - Land
Forces Committed: +6

Though Elysia hesitated at first, Zayne had consulted with her, and ultimately... Been granted the express permission to command a large bulk of the Starchild nation's ground forces.

And so, as the battle against the Alliance's forces continued, a gleaming army of armored soldiers and weapons platforms slowly descended upon the battlefield.

Air dropped by transport craft, the Starchild nation's infamous Nova Tanks would soon take strategic positions amidst the Alliance forces, beginning to gather brilliant, golden light in their lenses, preparing to concentrate their fire on enemy positions.

"Defensive formations! We have enemies behind the front lines!" Zayne shouted, his armor's interface transmitting the message throughout his army.

There was a pause as he surveyed the battlefield, remembering his conversation with Fiora and Elysia from earlier.

"Their leader can wait... We must protect our own!" He declared.

And with that, his mind was set.

Carefully, he directed a few Squadrons of Nova tanks to form defensive lines around the Alliance forces, seeming to prioritize protecting Queen Zelda, whilst slowly whittling away at the Caragors that have jumped the front lines.

Zayne himself had already drawn his sword, which was emitting a golden glow as he aimed to slash through the Caragors that threatened to break the Alliance defenses around him. The very surface of his blade was searing hot, evidently he was using his powers, although sparingly at the moment.

Swarms of Starchild soldiers, clad in power armor and some glowing with strange auras began to join the front lines, forming an additional layer of defense, aiming to prevent enemy forces from reaching their artillery in the back.

Fiora Torres - Air
Forces Committed: +4

Multiple booming sounds could be heard from the air as half of the Starchild air fleet arrived on the scene. Fiora chose to play it safe and keep half of the Starchild air forces stationed around their cities. The other half... Would be personally overseen by her in battle.

Leading the charge against the Dark Rebellion's air forces, Fiora initially was to propose a defensive formation, but then... She saw the risk Credo was taking.

Realizing how disastrous the loss of a general would be, and perhaps remembering the similarly rash actions Zayne had taken, Fiora inhaled sharply, then opened a communications link to her own forces.

"Clear a way to Credo! We'll join his efforts, then regroup! Commence operation; Spearhead!"

Almost in unison, the Nebula cruisers, amongst other, smaller air units began to form into a triangular shape, gathering energy from the tips of their cannons.

As soon as Fiora gave the order, they would fire in unison, as Fiora piloted the front most cruiser into the fray, aiming to break through the Nazgul lines, or failing that, at least help carve a path to Credo and extract him should the situation be dire.

"Fire at will!"

And so, the skies were bathed in a wave of greenish light, as Fiora prepared to make a push through the front lines.

The tricky part was keeping tabs on the situation, to make sure there was minimal friendly fire.

"
Converge on me!" Zelda commands. Her back strikes Impa's. Her fleeting force does its best to fight its way through the bodies of a seemingly endless supply of orcs. A thinly-spread army was orc fodder. Compact and secure, the Hylians would be strong enough to endure at least a few more moments in Mordor's stinking flesh-sea. "Protect yourselves, brothers! Stay strong! Stay foc--"

"Push! Push!"

B R I T A N N I A
The arrival of Britannia forces was nothing short of a Godsend.

5-->4

"Get 'em!" Brûz snorts, signaling with his gauntlet. "Dinner time!"
Brûz's snarling is drowned by a louder, hungrier snarl. 6 Caragors- the apex predators of the Kingdom of Morodr- leap over the Mordorian Line.
View attachment 8257
"RRRRROOOOOOWWW!"
Their savage minds were conquered by the Bright Lord long ago. Enacting his will, the pack breaks into two. Half of the Caragors scramble up the Knightmare's armored hull, scratching its steel with their claws and fangs all the white. The second pack turns towards the Alliance's front line. With another scream, the beasts lunge towards the forces of Britannia and Vesuvia. Limbs fly. Bloody sprays. Soldiers fall.

F I R E N A T I O N
The sight of the Fire-Benders spreads terror across the Orc lines.
"Witch-Kind!" "Ghâshgôrs! Ghâshgôrs!
The front-line fighters hesitate. Fear consumes their resolve. That single moment of terror- that single moment as twitching second- was all it took for the forces of the First Great Alliance to secure a few more inches of land. Trembling orcs fall to cold, emotionless iron.
"Stupid ku-pushs!" Brûz howls. "When was the last time you saw a wizard in Mordor, eh? Get you fat asses back in line before rip you new ones! Stinking Drongos!"
The Land Forces of the Kingdom of Mordor:
4-->3

Brûz hedges his bets. It pays off. The fear the orcs feel for their master overwrites their fear for their foes. They have seen Brûz make true on his promises. If it meant choosing between a firey death at the hands of a foe or having their head popped off by Brûz, well... the Orcs knew made decisions like this every day.
The Orcs redouble their efforts. They push back against the Alliance's reinforced line. A mighty Gruag lumbers towards the Fire Nation Tank, it's jaws swinging wide and tall.

First Great Alliance Land Army (17) Goal:
Protect Queen Zelda, the Ruler of the Kingdom of Hyrule.

A Nazgul dips out of the path of Albion's blast. His flickers in an out of sight, as if he is being projected by a faulty bulb. In a flash of green, he vanishes...

Only to return to sight behind Albion, his morgul-sword raised high. Even with his prey in his grasp, he remains as silent as the grave.

He doesn't hesitate. He doesn't stop. A swings his dark-blade towards the archer, seeking to separate her from her mount.
"You enslave nature in your quest for flight! Despicable! The Heavens are not for you to claim, woman!"
A shimmering, indigo blur flashes over head. A blast from a Covenant Phantom forces the Dark Angel to yield a few more inches of sky.
"It's only a matter of time before your advantage become ours! Scurry home before your bones become one with Mordor's black soil!"

F I R E N A T I O N
The arrival of the Fire Nation's forces strengthens the resolve of the valiant Alliance's forces even further. Their hearts hardening, they redouble their efforts. The combined push of the Angels and the Altos forces another Nazgul to retreat in a puff of gray smoke.

"Sir?" The Captain asked once he saw the attack conducted by the Vesuvian ships at their enemy that was reminiscent of waterbending, but Zuko kept his gaze on the enemy ships.

"Fire at the ships that remain, don't waste ammo on those retreating. As for the Enemy Captain's ship? Adjust your aim and fire at it's side and have someone else aim for the mast as best as you can, then reload." The Fire Lord commanded, somewhat reminded of the Siege of the North as he watched the ships retreat.

"Yes, My Lord." The man bowed before turning to relay the order.

Those who rode with their Captain towards the Fire Nation and Vesuvian ships would find large flaming boulders headed their way, black streaks of gas from the gross smelling oil coming from them like a comet.

The Graug would find a stream of flames at it's front, and the horns of a charging komodo rhino in it's side before the soldier sitting atop it would attempt to drive her spear into it's neck with a war cry.

"Sisters, keep formation! Chi block any that get too close! Shields up!" Suki ordered, taking out her katana at her hip and opening a circular shield on her left arm as she watched Mat's forces. The Kyoshi Warriors tightened their formation around Zelda, creating an almost curved wall around her front and flank as a few followed their leader's orders, summoning their own shields and weapons.

"Take out the fans and take on an offensive." The Earth Kingdom native added, causing at least two Warriors to instead open their fans and quickly leave formation to lash out to strike any that tried to pass the rest of the warriors' defense.

Some of the tanks tops turned, hookshots shooting out to latch onto a few of the Caragors and attempt to pull them off course and into the line of fire. Other tanks kept their focus on the Orcs, keeping up steady streams of fire.

"Ah, you are Ghetsis, are you not? I have come to aid your fight, naturally-"

That was when the frigate shook.

"Submarines," Nagato says, "or a substitute with similar function. By your side, they are trusty allies. As opponents, they can be the key to defeat. We must deal with them immediately."

Nagato speaks through her communicators.

"Destroyer Division 6. Report to the top deck and prepare your anti-submarine equipment. I-56, I-168, stand by for battle."

Four KAN-SEN rushed forth and reported immediately, as if they were hanging around the Plasma Frigate's lower decks this whole time.

"Akatsuki!"
"Inazuma. Ikazuchi."
"Hibiki!"
"Destroyer Division 6, reporting!"

"Enemy units are attacking this vessel from below. Clear them out."

"Yes ma'am!"

The four KAN-SEN would jump off the ridge of the Plasma Frigate, free-falling.

"Engage!"

The four would shout in unison as mechanical riggings were generated on their backs, their shoes landing on the water as the started to skid on it. They would use their sonars to detect the underwater enemies, or at least, the source of the attacks, and the moment they did, their riggings would aim and release depth charges towards that location.

A strong pulse was released right at the source, and the moment that stopped was when two more KAN-SEN rushed to the top deck in a similar manner to the initial four and hopped off the ridges.

"ENGAGE!"

I56.png

Submarine hull-type KAN-SEN <I-56> deployed

Submarine hull-type KAN-SEN <I-186> deployed

Instead of their riggings being formed on their backs, rides were materialized on the water for these submarine KAN-SEN to ride on, their butts conveniently landing on the seats as they began to dive underwater to patrol the remains of the enemy forces and clean up what Destroyer Division 6 had started.

"I-56 and I-186 are some of the Sakura Empire's finest warriors. You can be confident in their ability to defend the depths, Ghetsis."

Meanwhile, the Experto Credo was tasting the medicine that the Plasma Frigate had just swallowed, and it was unfortunate too, since it had to eat a strike to the bow thanks to the efforts of Asra's attack before that. The Sakura mass-production model submarines that were previously deployed were repeatedly firing torpedoes onto its undersides.

"If I had foreseen that submarines would be a more crucial part in this battle, I would have suggested to the Commander for Bismarck to come in my stead. The Ironbloods are far better at submarine warfare than we are. Not to say that we are lacking - because we are not."

Nagato continues to look forward.

"It appears that my direct deployment will be unneccessary for the time being. Granted, the sooner we finish this battle, the sooner we can assist other fronts."

"Abandon ship!" Its Captain commands, his mind already writing his next battle plan. "She's Neptune's now!"
Some of his men leap for the freezing waves below. Some cling to the ship's chains, not knowing what to do. The Assassin takes a moment to think.
Yes. That's what he'll do.
He whistles over the crackling flames. He points two fingers towards as the nearest Vesuvian ship. He closes his fist and beats his chest. His men cheer and wave their swords, their spirits restored.

"A trump card? The Depth Charges didn't even scratch it?" Nagato's was curious. "I think it is only appropriate that I show you the might of the Fourth Combined Fleet's flagship! Engage!"

Mechanical riggings began to materialize, surrounding Nagato. Metal and wood began to unfold into an array that decorated her newfound overcoat that exceeded herself in size.

Nagato's deployment would cause her to exude an aura throughout the battlefield that boosted the power of all Sakura units. This aura would also boost their reloading and accuracy. With Nagato occupied in battle, her mass-production units would autopilot themselves as they fired their guns and cannons at the rebellion.

"Kawakaze, aid me in battle!"
"Understood, Lady Nagato!"

Nagato starts off by aiming and firing twin cannon shells at RAY's 'head', while Kawakaze would go in for a ranged attack, using her blinding speed and her mighty sword to slash at its 'legs'.

Vulgora was knocked back by Bruz's attack, a concussion burning in their skull.
But then he widened his arms and spoke.
"Come on, then," he said, "Show me ya mettle."
Vulgora only smiled at this offer.

Vulgora is a demon. Demons have... natures.
A demon's nature can be "always hungry", "obsessed with worms", "sadist" etc. etc.
Vulgora's nature is "never turns down a fight"
And so... of course they accepted.
"WELL NOW... I TAKE THIS CHALLENGE... I'LL SHOW YOU THE MISTAKE OF MESSING WITH ME!"
Their face began to split. A plume of smoke came out from where they once were, engulfing Bruz entirely.
Except it wasn't smoke... it was beetles.

The beetles crawled all over Bruz's body. They got into his eyes, his nose, his mouth, his ears.
To outsiders, it looked like a red cloud of smoke had enveloped his entire being.
However, outside, a small portion of them turned back into the pontifex.
They grabbed their ax from the dirt, raised it high, and slashed it across the general's neck.

"The Nazali has been taken!"
"What? Are you sure?"
"Adewale tossed Captain Ludovico overboard!"
"Holy shit!"

The voices rang out from the deck of Nadia's ship. Nadia looked at the Nazali, and back at Asra, still reeling from the ice attack that sunk the Experto Crede.
Nadia readied her sword and prepared to board the Nazali to take it back from the Brotherhood, but was stopped by Asra.
"Don't do this, Nadia... please..."
"If I don't do it, then who will? You? You need to rest. Vulgora? They're probably challenging some gigantic monster to a fight!"
"Nadia... I can do this... Mazelinka gave us potions for our journey..."
"Are yo-"
"Yes..."
"..."
"Someone grab Asra a drink from the stash, the one labeled 'for emergency use only',"

The crew scrambled to fulfill this order, and soon the potion was given to Nadia.
"Alright, Asra, drink up..."
Asra drank the potion, and soon had regained his strength, although not enough to perform huge magic moves as he did before.
Asra turned and looked at the crew and began directing.
"Pilot the ship close enough for me to get onto the Nazali. I need several people to join me on our expedition, and magicians should head to the back to boost the ship's speed so that we can make our escape. We're reclaiming the Nazali,"

The soldiers obeyed, and soon the Nazali was in jumping distance.
The group on the expedition hopped aboard the Nazali, engaging the Brotherhood's troops in combat.
The Nasmira, Nadia's ship, sped away, making sure no attacks from Adewale can hit the boat, and potentially kill Nadia.
Asra, in the meanwhile, made his way towards Adewale.

"So... we finally meet... Adewale..."
He entered a combative stance, wisps of pure magic curling around him, his staff pointed towards Adewale.
"I believe that you have something of mine, but you killed my friend, Ludovico, so..."
A bit of water formed on the tip of Asra's staff, fashioning itself into a point.

"Prepare to die,"

A veil of smoke hides the Brotherhood's crew from view. Their movements are impossible to track until its too late. Two dozen men leap through the gray haze, propelled through the air by the Exeperto Crede's snapping ropes. A boarding party touches down upon the nearest Vesuvian vessel. The ship hands- caught unawares- are unable to cry out to help. Their throats are slit by the Assassin's blades before their can wail for support. Guns are fired and tossed aside. Swords are tossed through chests. A Vesuvian Captain is tossed overboard. Adewale takes the helm of 'his' new ship.
"Man he guns, men!" He roars, his heart pounding. "Clear out the floors below! Keep as many of Her crew alive! Those who don't turn coat will be taken as hostage!"
Perhaps there was a little pirate in the Old Captain after all.
"Make yourselves at home, men! She's ours now!"

The depth charges shake the seas. A moment of silence passes.
Another blast makes the waves themselves tremble. Two Sakuran submarines are sent rocketing back up to the surface. Steam rises from the water around them. Bubbles swarm them. The seas glow.

The surface of the water breaks. Pale ocean spray splutters across the deck of the Plasma Frigate. Ghetsis hobbles away from the desk's edge and shields his face. With a clatter and a crunch, the 'submarine' that felled two Sakuran vessels leaps from the water like a dolphin and lands upon the Frigate's deck.

A siren sounds. Colorado's finest 'ship' howls.

World Marshall sends its regards.
The recoil of the blast rocks the Plasma Frigate from side to side. General Ghetsis falls onto his back. A grunt rushes to assist him, only to be waved away.

Zelda's shouting was met by something else. A rumbling from clear skies and then...

The lightning.

BOOM

The Asha'man weren't done yet as lightning dropped from clear skies sending devastating bolts to the flank of the Hyrule forces and the rest of the allies taking up the back.

As this was going on, Mat spotted his prey. He had never seen her in person but every regal queen had that poise around them, even when covered in dirt and soot. They only had one shot at this, success or failure the others would be wise with this plan either way.

Mat nodded to the two horsemen carrying the Asha'man who proceeded to break formation away from Mat and headed towards Zelda. The Queen of Hyrule suddenly found herself unable to move as if invisible chains had wrapped around her. In fact, one of the Asha'man used a weave of Air to trap her in place. The other meanwhile formed a small portal behind the queen and held it open long enough before the other used the same air to push her through and if successful...she'd be gone as the portal closed behind her.

Birgitte definitely did not like this man, but he was talking some sense. "You're right!" She shouted as she flew back. "Allow Birgitte Silverbow to leave you with this final gift!"

Behind her, a contingent of raken had mustered bows ready with flaming arrows. "Until next time!" With a motion of her hand she fell back behind her forces as the arrows flew with most of them being aimed at Credo himself.

Ripped from its home, cut off from the net, and forced to lose too many of its citizens, Mainframe faced many challenges adjusting to its new reality. The city had known countless tragedies, so the binomes and sprites that inhabited Mainframe had not necessarily lost to despair over the latest incident to hurt the, though it was still a hard adjustment nonetheless. The people of Mainframe had been forced to grapple with the idea that other being existed who were an entirely different makeup from them. These beings were not from systems nor were they made of energy or data. Whether this made them the "users" the people of Mainframe had lived in awe of or beings similar to those unknown deities, no one could be sure... and no one was particularly interested in finding out.

The Matati had kindly "suggested" who was to lead Mainframe now, though it was obvious there was only one person who could lead its people now. Dot Matrix had only lead in times of war, though truthfully Mainframe was not exactly a daunting task to lead during peace. One look at Phong would have made that obvious really. She had maintained a careful, friendly coexistence with the other nations of this new world, though her ultimate goal was always get Mainframe back where it belonged.

The Matati said they were saved from destruction? Dot didn't think so.

It was a sentiment shared by her "generals" who both were not exactly the trusting types. Her brother had somehow grown even more full of rage ever since it was clear his lover, AndrAIa, had not come with them and was on the brink of causing trouble, much to Dot's dismay. She had kept Matrix at bay by promising him they would figure things out in time.

Unfortunately, now with war on the horizon, Dot was not exactly eager to fight for either side. She secretly agreed with what Mordor fought for but it seemed foolhardy to her to show their hand against the alliance's many allies. She had convened her elite in the war room, though had not moved to issue any orders. She was still surveying the reports her people were sending her from their observations when a VidWindow popped up in front of her, giving her a view of Enzo Matrix's scowl.

"I'm taking some men out to join Mordor," he said in a tone that indicated it was not up for debate.

Dot let out a heavy sigh. "No, Matrix, I am not interested in sending my people out to die a doomed fight. Now's not the time for this... rebellion."

"Then when is the time, Dot!?" he snapped back, glaring through the view screen. "I know you agree with Mouse and I. Our friends and family are still out there, I know they are. We need to end this nonsense and go back home!"

"Matrix, you're not thinking straight--"

A second window popped up, this one of Mouse. Judging by what Dot could see, the woman was in her aircraft. "Sugar, you're not going to be able to talk him down."

Dot felt like she could scream. How could they both do this now of all times? "I think at this point we should just send a few small forces to the alliance. Show some level of support but hold them back so that we don't lose them in the fighting."

"I didn't take you for a coward, sis." Matrix closed his window without another word.

"Frankly, Dot, I gotta agree with him for once," Mouse said. "I got some good people with me now. I don't think this is quite the losing battle you think it is, sug'. We need things to change around here and now's probably the best time for it. Besides... we got friends on both sides. We gotta stand for something."

It was clear that Mouse and Matrix were going to force her hand. Dot could only hope that Mainframe would survive the fallout.

"All right then, Mouse. I'll keep a watch on you guys."

Land - Matrix

The ground shook as a new force unlike the rest appeared on the field of battle. Tanks were rolling in, letting off blasts of explosive fire that disrupted the enemy forces. Matrix stood perched on one of the front-line tanks, his eye scanning to lock on to any target he could find. The tanks came in to assist Bruz the Chopper, using their bulk to protect him from any incoming threats. Though they could do little for the cloud of beetles, Matrix was able to take aim on the few that turned back into Vulgora. He fired a couple of bullets toward the axe-wielder.

Air - Mouse

A squad of armored air tanks flew quickly into the battlefield, providing bulk and protection for the raken and Birgitte.

Mouse, in her own personal aircraft let out a holler as she and a couple of her people fired on Credo, adding to the flaming arrow assault.

The Demonic Kingdom of Shinjuku
Prologue: The Valley of Fear

Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, places and incidents either are products of the author’s imagination or are used fictitiously. Any resemblance to actual events or locales or persons, living or dead, is entirely coincidental.

---

Once upon a time, there was a city that shouldn't exist. A city built on twisted desires, on dreams that anyone with a moral compass would think a nightmare. This city was ruled by a Demon and a Phantom, a wicked alliance that hinged on their own purposes. Their own reasons for existence. One succeeded, and one failed. One perished, and one survived, thanks to the aid of Matati. The Archer of Shinjuku was given a second chance to do more with what he's already accomplished. His allies who had perished had returned to him, and Shinjuku was no longer in its own world. A fictional land come to life, right next door.

Archer owed it all to Matati. A savior who found him worthy of a second chance. The hero who granted this Shinjuku a longer existence. The god who resurrected his loyal Generals. So when a war broke out, a barbaric rebellion against the merciful Matati, the obvious decision was to aid Him, yes? To take his side, vanquish this opposition, and stand in the light of glory. A hero's choice. But there was only one problem.

The Archer of Shinjuku was no hero.

This was a man created to kill. His entire reason for living was to destroy, to scheme, to ruin one life after the next from the shadows of his ebony tower. The frog had knowingly allowed the scorpion on its back. And now it was time for nature to come back to sting.

---

The Kingdom of Shinjuku has sided with Mordor.

"Sing once again with me, our strange duet..."

In the midst of all the fighting, a haunting melody echoed out over the battlefield. Insignificant, inconsequential even, to the soldiers on either side, but to one woman, it was all she would hear.

"My power over you grows stronger yet..."

Porcelain skin, moonstone eyes, golden hair. The beautiful Princess Zelda was every bit the spitting image of her. Because it was her. His beloved who was taken from him, and not returned when he came back. His darling who he did everything for, but who only burned inside and out. His queen, his jewel...his Angel of Music.

"And though you turn from me to glance behind..."

Tearing through the edges of the battlefield came the metallic horde. The Coloratura, his gifts to his Angel, surged forth, hacking and slashing at the Allied forces wherever they could. Anyone who raised a hand to aid the Princess would find a killing machine at their throats. But all Zelda would hear was the music. All she would know was one thing:

"The Phantom of the Opera is there..."

"I N S I D E Y O U R M I N D."

The singer could not be seen, but he could be heard. Zelda would know where to find him. All she had to do was follow the Nightingale's song.

And he would be there to take her home.

The red-carapaced demon that Vulgora summoned earlier intercepted Matrix, blocking a couple of the bullets

Two had already hit Vulgora though, which distracted them for a hot second before returning to their attempt at killing Bruz.

The demon knocked the gun out of Matrix’s hand before grabbing him, lifting him up, and attempting to slam him into the ground

It is said that by gnawing through a dike, even a rat may drown a nation.

At the beginning of time, In all of His grace and wisdom, the Matati endowed Patchworld with the gift of civilization. With great power, He delivered the tired and weary from perdition and oblivion - in the fires of the old worlds, something new would come unto the blank, vast canvas that He has built for us all. Something pure, and righteous - a perfect world of order and prosperity held aloft by the children of calamity. A world where the children could do no harm to the spaces beyond... and, in turn, where no harm could come to them

Of course, no beautiful thing comes without struggle. The perfect diamond is not formed without great pressure applied to the rugged coal.

There would be blood. There would be fire. There would be death. But in the wake of these 'rough patches'... those destined to carry on the torch of the civilized would be victorious. At the end of a great and terrible calamity, the ones who survived are surely the chosen children. Such is the idea that the Matati has so gracefully blessed Patchworld with.

But no acts of great kindness could make the children of Patchworld forgive Him for His Greatest Mistake.

In the fires of an old, dying world torn asunder by Ruin and Chaos, He found remnants of a people who He believed to be survivors of a horrible war. Blessed His name, even God could never hope to realize that the creatures he saved were not the victims of a world destroyed.

They were the ones who destroyed it. And the Matati has brought them here. They fester. They chitter. They feast on the innards of our perfect world like a pus-filled tumor.

And they would bring unto us only ruin.

There was nothing quite like the ripe scent of information. Information is the lifeblood of a thriving and honest community. It is the pulsating heart of that decrepit hovel from which the ratlings feast and feed the cycle of eat-or-be-eaten. Masters call for servants in the night, not knowing when the time comes for the servant to become the master - and for the master to become mulch for the slaves. Information is the tool of the wise master—the wisest ruler.

Sickly green witch-light manifested itself across the chamber. A vast blackness stretched across the room from one end to the other, disturbed by wisps of candlelight and glimmering warp-tokens that jangled loosely from their bearers spindly, furry necks. There was an unreal, grotesque quality about the Council's chamber, as though it were a place detached from the boundaries of matter. The air held the chill of baleful magic, the frosty glare of the Thirteenth Seat.

An anxious, chattering voice called out from one of the many slave-rats scurrying towards the council chamber. "We-we gets signal from Clan Skurvy scout-fleet, y-your most magnificent Seelord Thanquol."

The Grey Seer grinned, lips pulling away from his fangs. A swarm of beady red eyes surrounding him, looming in the darkness of the council chamber. A clawed paw rests atop a pile of shattered warpstone lumps on the table in front of him, fishing a sizeable chunk from the collection. The sound of hushed sniffing and chittering, and the pitter-patter of cautious feet, filled the darkest corners of the chamber. Crimson eyes stared deep into the sickly green glow of the crystal that now presided between his clawed fingers.

The voice called out again to him—a steady stream of information falling upon the lap of the wisest ruler. "The Headtaker's army moves beneath Mordor now-now, my Seer. The Claw scurry-swims across the sea to b-black coast. We-we send signal to move-move n-now?"

"Yes. The first scheme begins... now-now."

Thanquol pressed his claw into the crystal. It shatters into two pieces. He lifts his horned head to the slave-servant. "Toll the Screaming Bell."

L A N D- The Battle of the Black Earth - Queek Headtaker

The horrors of war knew no rest.

The blackened earth was burnished beneath the stomping feet of a thousand soldiers. Ribbons of flame danced across hot air from twirling fingers. Hulking monstrosities of advanced machinery churned the ground beneath their treads, soldiers of the future descending on the heads of the Alliance. A terrible melody gripped the hearts of men slashed apart by iron hordes.

Boiling mud and booming sound. Flashing lights and sundered bodies. The beauty and grace of the Matati's children couldn't be any more tarnished. But for those who heralded the end of a dark and dying world, hope was the first step onto the road of disappointment. And wishes came to a bitter end... beneath the tireless scurrying of a thousand feet, and the gnashing maws of a thousand hungry mouths.

R U M B L E

The ground surrounding the Allied forces not already being engaged by other Rebellion armies began to shudder and writhe like a dying animal. Was there an earthquake happening? No one knew. Soldiers on both sides stumbled and fell, clutching their weapons and struggling to rise amid the unending quakes. Then, the crust of the Black Earth began to crack.

B O O M

A towering plume of dirt and rocky debris exploded from the center of the battlefield. Something akin to a chorus of gargling shrieks and chitters drowned out the sounds of war as soon as it happened, nearby soldiers stumbling back from the source of the noise and chaos, and a few of them have only a moment to scream before the shadows lurking in the dark began to move. A chaotic whirlwind of rusted blades sank into the bodies of those few Alliance soldiers nearest to the point of the whole.

The men screamed and howled as clawed hands greedily snapped at their bodies, dragging them into the center of the horde, the sounds of shrieking animals gnawing away at supple meat soon replacing the human howls of pain. Then, when the dust had finally cleared, the shadows surged forward into the center of the Hylian army.

It was a nightmare vision.

View attachment 8273

They weren't human. They weren't just rats. Shrieking, gargling, red-eyed monsters flooded from the hole in the earth, swarming across the battlefield like a tidal wave of screaming vermin and scything blades. What they appeared to lack in armor and technology, they made up in numbers. Those who were able to spectate the event away from the center of the chaos could only see more and more ratmen spill out from the ground like pus draining from a popped zit.

Though there was no indication as to whose side they were on just by the way they flooded the battlefield, they seemed to avoid attacking the forces of Mordor, instead swarming in and around the alliance forces who had no hope to anticipate an enemy coming from beneath their very feet.

A crimson blur suddenly leaped from the darkness of the hole, still gushing with skaven. A crooked maul crashed into the face of one Hylian sergeant, splitting his skull in two. A second sword cleaved apart a nearby fire-bender of the Fire Nation, flames futile spilling off the side of the blur's armor.

Queen Zelda found herself staring at one of her other sergeants. He stared back at her. He had no choice, as his eyes were frozen in an expression of shock, his severed head spitted on a rusty spike. Other decapitated heads grinned at the Queen of Hyrule from the trophy rack lashed to the crimson armor of the army's leader.

"KILL-SLAY THE ELF-THINGS! SLAUGHTER THE MAN-THINGS! QUEEK TAKES NO SLAVE-SCUM! EAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" the black-furred general roared an order out to his swarm, raising his pair of bloodstained weapons to the sky. A couple of hungry red eyes fell upon Zelda. "But no one will kill-slaughter the Queen."

"No one but Queek. She is mine. HNnNRRAAAAAAGH!"

A gargling shriek escaped the rat-man, his crimson eyes flooded with what could only be described as unbridled bloodlust. And due to the chains that she found herself bound by, all she could do was watch. Watch as the scrawny creature, moving faster than any man could ever do, lunged across the battered earth in a whirlwind of blades, bringing death to whomever he hit.

And he pounced forward, over and above the tide of bodies, to plunge his blade into her abdomen.
