About Valore

Nothing on the planet of Valore needs to make sense or remain consistent with other regions, time lines, or historical events. Things can exist that directly contradict the existence of other things. The reason for this is that at a point in recent history Valore suffered a cataclysmic disaster that fractured it, not just within the current time, but across many different times and verses. Some locations within Valore may be aware of this event, some may not.

One can dive in and enjoy the largely isolated 90's urban fantasy setting of Lutetia with their characters fully perceiving the rest of the world as being in their same time period, while another player can explore the post apocalyptic ruins of Westeria City within a time that Lutetia no longer exists. Someone can set up an area to run with a storyline idea that takes place within a single city without needing to build an entire planet or incorporate a larger setting into their storyline.

Bridging between these various time-lines and locations can happen at any-time (some characters may be aware of it, some may not), but try to be respectful of storylines within specific regions if there is an over-arching theme or an established time period. IE a single cyborg character winding up stumbling into a medieval japan setting? It serves as an oddity that changes the direction of story, but the overall feel of that setting remains intact. Alien invaders flooding the streets of a realistic modern setting and throwing everyone into slave camps? Not so much. Try to keep the really crazy shenanigans to the areas designed with an 'anything goes melting pot' atmosphere in mind.

One thing remains static throughout all of Valore though. The damage done to space and time has resulted in anomalies that can occur without warning. The use of powerful magic and tech capable of generating a great deal of energy can aggravate this instability and result in anomalies. Players may make use of this as a plot point at their discretion and within reason. However excessive use of powerful magic or equivalently powerful tech (IE reality bending magic, nuking cities, etc) may result in GMs interjecting anomalies at their personal discretion.

Regions of Valore

The number of regions within Valore can be as many or as few as players want. People are always welcome to add their own regions and content, and many areas of Valore are only loose descriptive guidelines to give people inspiration and to help guide people to areas with players of matching interests.

When adding a new region though, it is recommended that you include a description in this thread so players can be on the same page. Also include whether a region/location is mostly stable/consistent if you want fewer off-setting disruptions. Example: If you want to do some realistic modern roleplay in a city, you can add that city location. But note in its description that the city inhabitants are unaware of the anomalies that make up Valore, and remains largely unaffected internally. Other players will still be allowed to roleplay in this city (even with characters that don't match the time/setting) but will be expected to be respectful and discreet about it.
