This is Sebientir, A Land vibrant with many wondrous creatures and peoples (Well get to those in a bit). They live alongside one another, practicing and worshiping the various deities that have lived and thrived alongside their believers since before modern times. To those attempting to read the map, The lime green represents the various plains and grasslands that spread across the world, while the olive drab represents heavy forests and steppes. The green that is neither dark nor light is a mixture of the two, while the tan represents the great deserts that cover Sebientir in the West and East. The Gray triangles represent the mountains that form natural barriers for some countries while finally the light blue stand for the lakes, rivers and of course the Great Ocean that surrounds Sebientir. Believe it or not this continent is not the only one in this vast world, but that my friends is a tale for another time. For now let us move onto the political climate of the world...

We will get to the state upon which our tale will begin, but first let us state off the observers of our story shall we?
Light Blue: The Kingdom of Aldan, a rife and rustic culture where they are most famously known for their Bowmen, who are said to even pierce the mightiest of Armatus with a small arrow. They have been for the most part living in a period of peace since the War of the Crowns Twenty years ago, where House Pendragon, above all others, claimed the throne from their Rivals after a five year long and bloody civil war. (Culture is mostly based on the British Isles. Welsh mostly in the West part of the country, Irish in the East, Scottish in the North, and English in the Southern Coasts)

Blood Red: The Iberian Imperium, a vast empire that covers most of Sebientir with the Kingdom's of Franca and Aldan to their north and south repectively, and the Confederacy to its West. They are a xenophobic culture, priding themselves on their "superior" arts and poetry and architecture while finding anything non-Iberian Savage. The majority of Iberia is Human, with a very low population of Weres, Dwarves, Vampires, Orks, Cabys, Elves, and so on. Those non-human will find themselves either as second class citizens or outright slaves...sometimes some of them are one and the same. Slavery is common practice forced labor is used from building their grandiose architecture to the Caby's case as cannon fodder in their wars and civil wars that spark up from time to time due to violent Iberian Politics. (Basically they are a mixture of Roman Empire and Spanish works, the farther west you go, the more spanish it becomes while its more Romanesque in the East)

Bright Orange: The Confederacy of Independent City-States. Collectively, they are arguably the equal to the Iberian Imperium. However they are united only should a common threat come to their collective doorsteps. In reality, each City is a Sovereign State unto itself, each vying for Territory, Resources, Power and Prestige. It is here that Mercenaries like The Hawkwood Company thrive in, with various City-States employing very skilled and professional Soldiers-For-Hire to do their fighting for them, while the more skilled diplomats perform both figuratively and literally cloak and daggery. However, while they would not hesitate to fight one another for something as petty as a cow (and it's been known to happen) should a threat to all of them appear, they will set aside their differences to deal with this threat before going back to killing each other. (Based on the City-States of Greece and Italy, with some elements of German)

Green: The Principality of Thorin. Once part of the Confederacy, they were a group of City-States that united under a sort of Council of Princes, forming a Principality that while have a weak army, are considered lethal in both the Sea and with their revolutionary Sky-Ships (something they invented after centuries of development). They are in some ways the most democratic of the nations of Sebientir, with the Council voting on everything from taxes to going to war to what is to be grown where. Their Thorin Knights, a unit of Armatai Armsmen, are considered Arguably the best of their craft...even by Jon Hawkwood himself. (Based on some Northern Italian with German and surprisingly Welsh Influences in there as well)

Purple...ish: The Kingdom of Franca, now we get to the main stage upon which this story comes to pass. For now I'll have to seperate them due to the fact they are for now divided and will have to explain. But due to the fact their culture is identical I will be collective before explaining the situation of each seperately. Franca is one of beauty and poetry, with a rustic flare to add to its charm. They are a proud people, rivaling Iberia in claims that they are heirs to the Old Empire. They are known for their prized Knights, and ironically were the last country to utilize Armatai due to seeing them at first as crude pieces of equipment. However, as Armatai became more sophisticated and therefore more dangerous, Franca was forced to adopt the weapons of war in order to survive, which in turn formed a rivalry between Knights and Armsmen. For the Last Twenty years, since the death of King Charlamage, The kingdom was divided up between his Three Sons. Corvomos Le Pugeau the Eldest, Carlos Santiago the Middle, and Charles Laroque the youngest, have all been living in relative peace till Carlos suddenly assaulted Corvomos' Kingdom without warning. Before any could be said, Carlos decapitated Corvomos and slaughtered his rival's House. With no one left Carlos took his dead brother's Territory and seized it for his own. Charles, fearing for his own power, began building up arms and calling forth his armies. The Drums of War have begun to thunder once again. (Obviously, Franca is based on France and its parishes)
-Dark Purple- Charles Laroque, their sigil a Griffin, holds the Western Half of Franca.
-Light Purple- Carlos Santiago, their sigil a Dragon, holds the Eastern Half of Franca.

*Assuming you are incredibly healthy but those numbers are the max life expectancy of each race. However those numbers vary if your character is of mixed race heritage.

Note: Just assume that they all have their Standard Traits except for two exceptions: Elves are not as long lived as normal High Fantasy and Vampires don't have access to powers like turning into mist or bats or wolves. other abilities for both (be it super strength for both, able to walk on walls for vampires or expert hearing for Elves) are still there

Before I get to the Armatus, I must explain how Magic works in War of the Beasts...
As for magic itself. Don't be surprised that its seen as a technology no different than like modern science. Magic is shall we say very practical in terms of how its used. Basically magic is energy found in the gelatinous substance known as mana, which in turn can be found in natrual wells or can be made via a long and tenuous process of a device called a Mana Harvester. This device slowly distils mana from the world around it (To any Star Wars Fans out there, think of it like a moisture Vaporators but instead of water its Mana). To use it requires runes that work as a fantasy version of computer programing on how a certain magical item works. For example, you write what you want an item to do in ancient Runes then you dip it in mana. The Mana will in turn power the runes which will in turn perform the task inscribed on the device. Example, lets say that I had a sword that hand the runes to expand and contract the blade (for portability's sake) inscribed on the sword. All I would do is channel mana somehow into the sword (either through a cable or through a vial of mana stored inside the sword's handle, or in an Armatia's case just channel Mana energy through the machine itself into the weapon) and then the sword would either expand or contract depending on the command given (either verbally or through another set of programmings done to the weapon)

Armatus, there are many weapons of war many know, but none invoke fear or awe than the Armatus or Armatai for plural. Standing over 30 feet in height, these humanoid war machines are powered via Mana Reactor (Which can vary from design but the basic principle is that the runes for "Energy" are inscribed onto the vessel and then dipped in mana. This in turn provides the electricity to power this hulking machine). They have been a dominant weapon on the battlefield for the last four hundred years, and their evolution has come quite a long way since their invention as a way to fight dragons and giants. They come in all shapes and sizes, but again the standard is humanoid 30 feet tall and normally in the shape of a Knight.

Technology and Weapons of War. As stated, most if not all technology is powered by mana, but some like the plow, catapults, and other devices work very well without them. Items like the Healing stone (which is imbued with runes and mana designed for healing. They work by using mana excite the cells and tissues in a body to speed up the healing process. What would take days or months could take hours and ensure infection can't happen in time) and Skyships (Sea-ships converted to carry levitation stones for flight) are common place. Weapons of war are the same as seen between the High Middle Ages and the Renaissance with one exception: Fire arms are not invented...yet.

Hawkwood Company
hawkwood-coat-of-arms-jpg.1592

Founded Ten Years ago by Sir Jon Hawkwood after earning a license from the Thorin Principality to command a Company, it is a mixture of new recruits and the inherited remnants of the Sunguard Company from the Late Vortigern. The Hawkwood Company takes residence in a city located on mouth of a river near the Northeastern corner of the Confederacy, aptly named the Hawks Nest or Hawksnest depending on who says it. They are one of the Largest Companies in in the Confederacy, boasting a military force of 15 Thousand Strong. The structuring of the Company is as follows:

Captain Hawkwood
4 Lieutenants, each commanding one of the 4 branches of his Army
Various Sergeants who are in Charge of a small Platoon of Troops
Corporals who answer to the Sergeants and sometimes command a Squad for him
Troopers or Recruits who are at the bottom of the command structure.

The Branches in question are: Infantry (4900 Infantrymen), Cavalry (4900 Knights and their mounts), Armatai (300 Armsmen and their Armatai), and Supply (4900 Supply Clerks, Medical Officers, Communications Officers, Artillerymen, and other duties) (Note: Will restructure that once I figure if they are the right amount for each branch). The Lieutenants, can also be addressed by the following:
Infantry: First Soldier
Cavalry: First Knight
Armatai: First Armsman
Supply: First Quartermaster

Hawkwood, while strictly a land based Army, also has in a way his own Sky and Sea Navy, though they are hire-outs from the various ships that happen to call Hawksnest their home. Not a bad deal for them seeing they get tax free trade and a free berth in exchange for their transportation services during The Company's Campaigns.

Speaking of Skyships...
View attachment 1611
...As stated the Thorin Principality were the first to figure out the formula or Runic coding for Levitation and applied them to the first skyships. They provided a great boon for transporting goods and people from one corner of Sebientir to another and for the more militarily inclined found them to give their navies a greater advantage. However, they are just as slow as their sea-bound brethren which makes them easy targets for ground to air artillery if their captains are not careful, on top of that they are useless at night (unless its a fully moon) or if its overcast and if its both you can forget air support.

That's pretty much all I have for now Folks, I'll update the info repository as new stuff and species come online. As for rules standard Site rules apply and pretty much have fun :).

Update: Just wanted to tell all in the RP you don't have to wait on me to do bits and pieces of your story. So long as you don't do anything crazy like prematurely attack the walls you are free to do small scenes by yourselves and with other players...so long as they don't pop into those scenes unrealistically lol. That is all :)

Update ladies and gentlemen: We at this point in the RP are preparing to begin the Battle proper! To all who have not replied now is the time to mobilize your characters and prepare for RP combat! Good luck and see you on the battlefield!!!!
