The massive dragon was careening out of control as it plummeted towards the city trailing plumes of miasma in its wake. One wing was mangled beyond use, and it had lost its ability to maintain level or controlled flight. What occurred next was nothing short of devastating. The dragon, over eighty feet in length, collided with a large corporate apartment complex about midway up.

The immense weight and speed of the dragon's impact was only marginally stayed by the building as the beast plowed clean through and into the office building adjacent to it. It was like watching a wrecking ball barrel through as the apartment complex began to crumble in its wake.

The office building fared little better, but had slowed the beasts momentum greatly as it crashed out the far side to slam down atop a research center.

As the buildings crumbled around the dragon, debris filled the streets and blew up a blinding cloud of dust that engulfed Hagan Avenue in its entirety. Those who hadn't been caught in the collapse of the buildings stumbled through the cloud with sleeves over their face to keep from choking on the dust that was so thick it might as well have been turning to mud as it was breathed in.

The dragon itself lay motionless, its chest rising and falling in labored breaths before it finally stirred. The debris fell away from its body as it gave itself a shake, trying to right itself and to assess its injuries. One wing had a hole scorched clean through it, but neither of its wings had survived the impact of landing and both hung useless with one pinned beneath a massive piece of rubble. The scorch mark along its flank had penetrated through the thick scaly hide to reveal charred muscle beneath. Even in the state it was in though, it was still an immensely powerful beast.

Thick wisps of miasma curled outward from its massive maw as a growl rumbled free from its throat. It cast its eyes around for any sign of movement, but it was just as blinded by the dust as those who sought to escape it. Overhead the storm had opened up in a torrential downpour, further marring visibility as the rain fell in thick sheets. The only saving grace of it was that the heavy rain began to thin the dust that clogged the air.

Several Tech Con personnel on the ground watched as the Dragon made it's uncontrolled descent, they cringed when it impacted the first set of corporate apartments, and then the creature landed on the edge of a research facility. The Research facility had managed to break most of the impact from the dragon's fall, but all the Tech Con personnel in the area had gone wide-eyed at the dragon atop what every one of them knew was a nuclear production facility, which purified uranium and other radioactive materials into weapons, mucrofusion cells, and fuel rods.

The building crumbled under the immense dragon's weight, as fires plumed black smoke into the sky.

"Everyone NBC Now! Evacuate the civilians! We need to neutralize that dragon!" The foreman shouted, while a sergeant signalled a T-45 Murmillo tank out from behind concrete jersey barriers.

The Tank came down the street several meters before it came to a stop, bearing it's turret onto the dragon.

"Line of sight established, opening fire."

Mercenaries cleared the immediate area, diving behind jersey barriers and readying their weapons, and then the tank opened fire.

There was a brilliant flash of green light, and then a deafening crack as the turbodisruptor bolt seared towards the Dragon, leaving a wake of superheated asphalt and concrete. Upon impact steel and concrete alike would be liquefied, and an explosion ensued. After the tank fired, the Mercenaries fell back to a second set of Jersey barriers, while they grabbed gas masks and struggled to put on their NBC gear.

"Rynhart," Taima's voice echoed. "I would call upon you once more."

"My debt to you has already been paid when I took Parlina under wing as you asked," Rynhart answered.

"And is that all the child was to you?" Taima asked. "A debt?"

____

The beast was disoriented and blinded as it tried to regain its bearings. The sound of a tank approaching pushed through the fog of its injuries as it gave itself another heave to try and right itself once more. The weight of the wreckage bore down upon its crushed wing causing it to lash out in pain. Its sinuous tail cracked through the air, crashing through a nearby wall yet standing.

With a heave of its shoulder it managed to dislodge the wreckage that was keeping it pinned, but the sound of the tank drew nearer. It could see it now, a shadow through the dust and rain.

The dragon was trapped, unable to fly as it looked for an escape. Piercing eyes searched its surroundings before they fell upon the body of a small child half caught in the collapse that had spilled out into the streets.

Surely it hadn't survived... and yet it stirred.

____

"You know that's not what I meant," Rynhart answered.

"Then why did you leave her?" Taima inquired.

"I am not you, nor my sister," Rynhart replied. "I could not live among them and watch them grow old and die in what amounts to the blink of an eye."

____

The tank's turrets locked onto the dragon, and it had only moments to decide. With its massive form close to the child, even if it evaded whatever the turret was about to unleash, the child would likely be caught in the crossfire.

____

"It is the burden we bear," Taima answered somberly. "So that they might have those lives however fleeting they might be. How many Parlina's will be snuffed out, should you turn your back upon humanity once more?"

Rynhart sighed heavily. "What would you have of me?"

____

The dragon moved swiftly as it shielded the child with the length of its massive body and braced for the impact of the turbodisruptor bolt.

____

"Troubling times lay ahead," Taima answered. "The realms threaten to crumble around us even as old enemies are reborn anew. Take my boon, and return to Westeria City. There, when the time is right, use it upon the soldiers of Krycis so that they might be purged from this world once more."

Her hand upon his chest had carried a warmth that radiated through his scaly hide before the shimmering hand print faded when she withdrew her hand. Overhead a rift was forming within the sky as a storm began to brew.

____

The shot should have felled the beast right then and there as it struck the dragon's shoulder, but upon contact a glowing hand print upon the dragon's chest flared to life in a collision of opposing forces that engulfed the dragon. A nova wave of energy fluctuated outwards from the dragon and swept across the streets, passing through vehicles and buildings with ease. Though no doubt unnerving for the Tech Con mercenaries caught up in its wake, it didn't seem to cause any harm. It was a purifying force meant to purge the fel magics that animated The Butcher. Against humans it simply washed past them.

As the dust of the explosion cleared, the dragon stood strong, its chest heaving heavily. With the boon meant for The Butcher now spent, the hand print upon the dragon's chest faded. There would be nothing to intercept a second shot, but the dragon didn't move from its place as it let out a deafening roar at the tank. As the turret's capacitor recharged for another shot, the ground beneath the dragon's feet lit up with purple glowing runes that began to form and spread across the broken pavement to form a circle of power to bolster the dragon's magic.

The tech con mercenaries remained behind cover, disoriented and confused from the sudden magical shockwave. Though it washed over them unharmed, they were still anticipating something.

"What was that?" A foreman asked, while another mercenary shrugged.

"It doesn't matter we need to neutralize that dragon."

The mercenaries continued to plan their next move until one of them caught sight of the runes.

"Oh shit..." he muttered before he grasped an antimana grenade from his vest.

"Antimana out!" he shouted before he heaved the small metallic sphere as hard as he could towards the dragon. The sphere traveled towards the beast in a wide arc, before detonating in its own powerful white shockwave of anti magic energy.

Shortly after the sphere detonated, the tank opened fire again, sending another brilliant green bolt dowe range towards the hulking beast.

Moments Prior

Within the distance, he could see the massive monolith of Legion Tower that had begun to rise in the past some odd months. No doubt Kazura upon it's uppermost floor looking out upon a city that he was set on subduing. Even further, other cities dotted the horizon. Van Leugen, Asteria, Solinus. He'd seen them all, been to them all, and had succumbed to the weight each carried. Terra was a fantastic world. The likes of which normal men and women from standard, pocket, verses couldn't begin to comprehend. Sometimes, he thought he'd simply gone mad. Locked away and left to rot by some unfortunate individual that had happened upon him. Then he'd wake up in the morning and realize he hadn't gone mad. The rest of existence had.

"It's certainly been an experience. But, I suppose adventure calls. Let's see what Shinzo meant by all of this." The words passed over his lips as softly as the passing breeze that kissed his skin. Making his way toward the outskirts, he found himself lingering over the great protective wall that happened to guard the city. Gingerly, his feet touched down upon the hardened surface as he caught site of the blue tressed individual. "Well. I've got what I need. I've left any unfinished business with Rizukumei. There's nothing more I can really do within the amount of time you alotted me, ha ha ha. So, with that said. Where are we off to? Is it here in The Multi-Verse? Or is it some pocket Universe disconnected?"

It was as he'd ventured forth that Shinzo had fashioned a gateway betwixt realities. Essentially, their journey was to take them to a location known as Praenuntius. A woman by the name of Rayne Penndragon had been recruiting for her sanctuary. Evil lurked on the horizon there and she sought all means of protectors against the ominous threat. Shinzo had happened to recollect Veji and had made it a priority to snag him.

"You could say that. Then again, Veji, nothing is as it seems. You think too narrow-minded. Everything can be connected like dots on a page. Regardless, it's best if I follow behind. You know. To ensure the gate doesn't close on you and leave you tumbling through time and space. It's a good way to get yourself torn to shreds. Seen it happen once. Not a pretty sight." He explained. Before Vegeshin could mention another word, though, Shinzo felt a peculiarity in the air. Something different. Having been an upper cosmos deity of sorts, it piqued his interest. He didn't know how much time he had to investigate the matter and so his gaze fell upon his ally. He had made his decision to investigate this matter, but before he could.

"Have a fun, safe, trip Veji!" He called out as Vegeshin had been glancing around inside the portal. With a swift thrust of his foot, he sent Vegeshin in with a boot to his tush. Hardly a qualm in doing so, either. As the portal closed behind Veji, he sauntered off with a snicker. "As if he'd get torn to pieces. That line always works..."

✪✪✪✪✪✪✪

A flip of the page and he came to briefly pause, rubbing at his temples. As he sat there, a sudden pressure flooded his mind and he found himself light headed, a surrealism swimming in his head. As he stood, stumbling a slight bit, a crescendo of awkwardness ballooned in his head before he tried to shake it away. Something had just become extremely peculiar. As if a reverse out of body experience. It felt as if he'd fallen 'into' himself from somewhere else. Glancing around, he slowly lifted an arm to pull his glasses away. Everything seemed alright. A faint trace of memory lingered, though.

"Shinzo...That little pest..." He mumbled before drawing his brows together in confusion. A sudden lift of one accentuated his perplexed state of mind as he thought on it for a moment. "But if I was. Then how am I..." He thought for a moment, before a rumble quaked his penthouse apartment. What in Kami's name was happening out there? Brushing a hand across his face in an effort to further pull himself from whatever it was that had him so out of his element, he sat his glasses down and began to stride along the floor toward the balcony.

A shrill whistle caught his ears though. It grew louder, and more imminent, the longer he waited, followed by a joined growing roar. Almost as if something from the heavens had been falling earthbound. A few steps more and it became akin to the sound of a freight train. No, even louder. And before he could bat another lash a catastrophic, concussive, blast ripped through his apartment, chewing through the entire building structure. Thrown aside into one of the walls, he was buried in a grand amount of beams, concrete, dry wall, and a host of other debris. An arm, and part of his face, was the only amount of him left exposed. Even for a being of his magnitude and power, the event he'd just been through had left him unstable enough. This estranged disaster was just enough to throw him over the edge and into a swift, unconscious, state.

In that time, numerous disasters were spreading across the city of Westeria. The Butcher continued on his rampage, churning up chaos in the wake of his flight. Victims were numerous, even more so via the coming collateral damage of the retaliating force. Jets screamed through the sky while larger vessels hung aloft in the heavens above. Buildings were shook and torn asunder by raining, molten, slag and all the while, poor Vegeshin was unaware in his unconscious state.

The audible tick-tick-ticking of a clock was what first stirred him back into the land of the conscious. Thunderous explosions rocked the foundation some, the actual sounds hailing from a distance away. Sputtering a few breaths, he began to move only to realize he was pinned. Most mortals would have panicked, but he did not, merely putting forth little effort as he rose from the mess that had piled atop him. Once he'd made it to his feet, he stumbled a slight bit, the floor beneath him a mess and partially missing in places that had fallen through. As he dusted himself, a catastrophic quake shook the foundation of the building yet again, this one far more intense than those prior, save for the slag that had torn it asunder. As he felt the building nearly collapse from the strain put on it, he couldn't help but glide over to a secondary balcony that lead out to the adjacent street; Hagan Avenue. He'd discover the source of all this commotion, even though he was still struggling to figure out how he'd even gotten here.

Thrusting a palm out, he burst through the balcony doors as they flung apart. Though the balcony was hardly safe to stand upon, a chunk of it missing, he found solid footing at managed to glance down the way a few blocks at what had been the epicenter of the quake. A massive Dragon. From the looks of everything around him, this wasn't Praenuntius. No, he was back in Wing City. Or. What appeared to be Wing City. Several buildings were different. The atmosphere itself didn't seem much the same, either. Cleaner. Clearer. Less unsettling, even in the wake of the calamity that lay before him. If it were anyone else who wasn't aware of the nature that was the Multiverse, he'd have been clamoring for answers. But in a scenario like this, much like Kazura, he came to the conclusion that he'd been chewed up, swallowed, and spit out into some variant of where he'd come from...rather than successfully make it to Praenuntius. And the longer he stared and glanced around at both the similarities and the differences, the more concrete his conclusion.

"This is the last thing I had imagined would happen..." He spoke softly, truly contemplating the mess he was now in. Everything he'd known was now gone, save for a few reminiscent buildings. He could only surmise with what little flashes that lingered in his mind that...he must have replaced the consciousness of the one who'd originally been here. If that were even the case. It's the only thing he could concretely understand at the time. Hopefully this variant, if that were the case, still held the capabilities of his originating body, because if not...this situation that lay before him would be rather grim. With a flex of his fingers into fists in repeated gestures, he glanced once again at the Dragon that finally up-righted itself and swiftly turned to shield itself. Narrowing his brows as the soldiers and tank began to open fire, he did what it was that he did best.

Intervene.

With two lurching steps, he began a swift, yet rather short, sprint from the balcony. Leaping into the air, he held his breath momentarily before attempting to fly. He was only twenty some stories up, what's the worst that could happen? It came to him as swiftly as a the grin on his face. This body could fly, which meant it could manipulate Ki. He was roughly the same as he was before, just a bit fuzzy in terms of memory. With a violet sheen pulsing around him, he burst forth at transcendent speeds, shattering most of the windows on either side of the street as he broke the sound barrier. Reeling back his fist, he had one intention; clipping the dragon right upside its jaw. If it wasn't Dragons, it was other terrors. Maleficus. Kazura. Vidious. Not to mention the members of Terminus. Evil never slept.

As he finally closed within the block, the sight of a child being shielded by the creature swiftly changed his mind, though. Coming to an abrupt halt, the sonic boom he'd created swiftly caught up to him, bringing gale force winds with it that would surely disrupt the soldiers below. In the coming irony, though, it was just in that instant that the tank had fired its shot, and the Dragon had unleashed its shock wave of purity, whatever it was. Lifting a hand to shield his face, it washed over him and passed beyond, effortlessly passing through the gale winds he'd stirred up. As his arm lowered, he saw the glowing of the runes upon the ground. The sudden shout of a soldier caught his attention as a grenade was lobbed. In the wake of the blinding explosion, Vegeshin swiftly took up point before the hulking giant. He could only hope they'd treat him as a civilian and hold their fire.

Unfortunately, he was a bit too late. The resounding crack of the canon loosing its green bolt hammered his ears. Unaware of what exactly it was, he summoned forth a rather large Kiai blast. The invisible wall of force promptly speared through the air to collide with, and halt, the green projectile in its place. Subsequent Ki blasts were fired afterword in case the blast had the capability of overwhelming the Kiai technique. Despite the launch of an anti-mana field, Vegeshin was rather fine. No magic. Just natural, Kami-given, energy.

When the noise cleared, he through his arms out to either side and bellowed at the top of his lungs. A stern gaze on his face remained, solemn eyes glancing around at the soldiers who readied themselves behind barriers. Erecting an energy field himself, in the interest of protecting himself, he continued his short tirade as the light sheen of a purple sphere flickered with static.

"This beast shields a child beneath it! Are you so caught up you cannot see this?! If your job is to protect this city, why are you in such haste to throw away the lives of innocent civilians!? You've all forgotten the face of your father, you should find nothing but shame in your actions! Stand down and focus on the real threat at hand." He explained, eyes catching sight of the Butcher as it passed some blocks down along another stretch of adjacent avenue. "You seem to be mistaken in who is friend, and who is foe..." He explained, only to turn his gaze over his shoulder and inspect the giant that was crouched behind him. His wounds looked to be hardly fatal, but from the sight of the beings wings, he could tell flight was far from practical at this point. A curious thought came to mind on whether Senzu beans would work in a universe not his own. If that were the case, he did hold a greenery in his apartment that housed the plants.

And then it dawned on him...his apartment was now a wreck. If they survived, it would be a miracle. Furthermore, he was unaware if this was even the same realm; unaware if they even happened to be there. If they were, he'd certainly have to grab them for the coming moments as they'd surely come in handy to those fighting the good fight. "Tell me I've made the right choice in saving your hide, Dragon. The moment you act to strike me down is the moment I'll be feasting on lizard meat..." He suddenly mentioned, eyes thrown to their corners as he glanced over his shoulder. He wasn't one to mince words on certain occasions, this being one of them. Hardly in prime shape himself, he was ultimately confused but acting on heroic instinct alone. There was nothing more that he wanted to do than figure out what had happened.

"Should they not heed my warning, I expect you to take the child and make your way down the street. Even if your lumbering form doesn't travel too far, you should have enough time to round the block," he began, his voice growing deeper then. "and whatever you do, don't look back if you value your vision."

When Vegeshin glanced over his shoulder, the eyes that looked back at him reflected an intelligence within them - perhaps even gratitude. However, Vegeshin had far more faith than Rynhart in the likelihood of the Tech Con mercenaries ceasing their assault upon him, and he opted to not wait for them to adapt to the situation.

One clawed hand closed around the form of the child before he turned away.

Rather than keep to the street that would drive him deeper into Hagan Avenue and put him at risk of aerial assault, he instead made a beeline for the gap between the two buildings across the street. His bulky form would be hard pressed to fit through, but it was the fastest way to cut across the properties that lined Hagan Avenue to reach the city streets beyond.

Fire-escapes and dumpsters didn't survive his passing and his scaly hide scraped along and damaged the walls on either side.

He knew not if the child remained among the living, but she wouldn't long withstand the radiation levels being put out by the destroyed lab that he and Vegeshin could endure. Never mind the risk of the lab exploding, among other things. From the way the Aschen where clearing back from the vicinity he could only wonder over what might have been contained within it.

"Our Job isn't to protect the city, it's to protect Tech Con properties! And you're trespassing." The Mercenary foreman shouted. "We need additional units, call in Crisis Response and Tactical Command."

The forman made a brief hand gesture into the air, and a group of about four mercenaries broke off down an alleyway. Vejishin found the rest of the Mercenaries training their weapons onto him, one by one.

The fires in the destroyed research facility began to rage, overpowering the torrential downpour that managed to douse the rest of the city, though weapons were trained on Vegeshin, the Mercenaries were quickly falling back until the facility suddenly exploded in a violent plume of plasmic energy, shattering windows and sending out a powerful shockwave. The fire was now a raging inferno.

The Mercenaries that took off, were doing so after the Dragon in hopes they could catch it.

"And just what the hell is going on here?"

A sharp voice cut the tension of the face-off, a battalion of TAF guardians and enforcers marching onto the scene. At its head was Lieutenant Ashlyn MacDuff, gauss rifle slung over her armored shoulder.

"First you fuckers blow a national hero out of the sky, now you're putting guns on civilians?" she 'tsked' mockingly, shaking her head. "Hot damn, you Shens sure know how to fuck shit up." She strode forward, eyeing the mercenaries with an angry grin. Her tongue prodded at the inside of her cheek. "In ten minutes you people've directly shot down two unarmed Terran civilians and've caused the deaths of hundreds more as a result of reckless firepower." She snorted. "And that's just what's been reported." Her green eyes snapped to a mercenary. "You. Shit-for-brain. Tell your commanding officer to patch through to my comms. Now." Her eyes shifted to theothers. "As for the rest of you - call off the tanks. The squads. The jets. You people have single-handedly done more damage trying to protect your assets than that-" She pointed to the sky. "-damn lizard has done trying to destroy them." She chuckled. "If that doesn't take a special kind of stupid, I don't know what does."

Meanwhile, Seraphim carriers were quick to respond the explosion. Already on-scene trying to control the nearby fires, they were quickly re-directed to the site of the Tech Con facility, prioritizing the inferno. Specially-suited firefighters jetted down from the carriers, laying perimeters and setting up Kelvin-shields. Hoses on the Seraphim's underbelly began spouting flame-suppressants.

It seemed he'd been mistaken as those first bellowed words in retort struck his ears. Trespassing? Their behavior alone reminded him of the carelessness that was the Aschen; the blatant disregard for lives and all mannerisms of morals. And if it walked like an Aschen, spoke like an Aschen, and acted like an Aschen...They had to be pain in the ass Aschen. As the flames in the building licked higher with each passing moment, he saw their guns remain steadily fixated on him as he, himself, slowly distanced himself from the raging inferno inside the building. "So, instead of calmly requesting individuals leave this area, you shoot them on sight. Makes about enough sense for your type. Itchy trigger fingers." He spoke, mockingly with a grin.

It was then that he was mildly caught up in the explosion, the concussive force of it blowing about him. As his arm rose to shield his face, he'd listened to the words of the woman who'd began hastily remarking on everything that had been going about. More military presence. This place was reminding him more and more of Wing City by the minute, and as much as he appreciated that fact, the more he loathed it just as equally. It meant convoluted situations all around. And that, in itself, was a rather saddening thought. He cleared himself from the immediate vicinity of the flames as others swiftly set about rectifying the damage and situation and figured whilst they were caught up with one another, he could slip away. Hardly one to simply disappear, though, he spout out a quick line.

"Pleasure dealing with you, but I've lives to save..." He shout out, offering a curt salute of his first two fingers from his forehead in a mild angle. He swiftly set about returning to the remnants of his apartment, treading carefully as to not plummet through the shambled floor. Scouring around, he came upon the greenery, or what was left of it. The plants that lived still held their beans on them, and as he dug through the ruins that had buried others, he plucked several more. It wouldn't be easy to replace the plants. They were difficult to grow and maintain. He'd only had the greenery in Wing City for a short two years, the other three spent properly growing them to fruition. He could only assume it was the same here. As he netted his necessary number, roughly two dozen, he slid them in a pouch at his waist before dashing off in the direction the Dragon from earlier had gone.

In the moments between the Confrontation between the Mercenaries, and Vegeshin, the building continued to rage, and while the TNG began to put out the fire, the building's own fire suppression system finally kicked in, filling the building with a dense fire retardent and radiation blocking foam. The inferno was quelled in almost seconds as foam pushed out the breaches in the walls, and leaked into the street.

The Mercenaries remained largely silent, their weapons trained on the TNG personnel encroaching on Hagan Avenue. They for the most part ignored the insults as a white pickup slowly came to a stop behind a pair of Jersey barriers.

The driver door to the pickup opened up, and a sharply dressed woman in pressed tan fatigues stepped out, and she looked far from happy.

Stepping over a deep mud puddle, she surveyed the damage of the Tech Con Quarter, then she turned to bring her attention down to the Lieutenant.

The woman was none other than security chief Callandra Henderson. As she approached the Lieutenant, the torrential rain began to soak her uniform, and one by one the Mercenaries lowered their weapons.

She stared at the Lieutenant before she took a drag from her fumerello, blowing the smoke in MacDuff's face. "Don't insult my men again, it's very unprofessional for a military officer of your rank and caliber. It reflects poorly on your military and nation as a whole." She commented, letting the thick fumerello hang on the edge of her mouth.

"And before you yammer on about terran citizens and shooting dragons indiscriminately." Callandra rebuked. "We were responding proactively to additional dragon incursions. If we hesitated and the dragon turned out to be malicious, well.. we'd be having this conversation about not caring about Terrans. So it's really damned if you do and damned if you don't." She said, blowing smoke with her breath.

"Specialist!" The Security chief called out, and a Mercenary quickly approached. "Chief?"

"Please escort these fine boys and girls of Terra's finest.... off of company property. I have insurance paperwork to file."

As Callandra turned to head back to her truck, Tech Con's private fire and ambulance corps had already been dispatched to quell the additional fires around the Tech Con quarter, while it's Ambulance corps combed the streets for wounded civilians.

Ashlyn regarded Callandra with a quirked brow, no-less defiant in her mannerisms, though a far bit more relaxed. Had the Tech Con Chief come out in fire and fury, the situation would have certainly spiraled out of control. As it was, she'd kept it cool and played her cards right ... quietly and professionally depriving Ashlyn of the confrontation she had so desperately wanted.

"You've got ten minutes, Callandra," MacDuff called after her, "ten minutes to shut the turrets down and get your guns off the street - or we come in with handcuffs." She suppressed a growl, turning back to her men. "Spread out! I want a perimeter around this facility! If we catch wind of even one more civilian casualty, we're busting in." She looked over shoulder, eyeing the leaving Callandra with poorly-hidden contempt. Though the TAF had ample reason to storm the Tech Con HQ, they had opted to give the mercenaries the chance to shut themselves down first ... mostly because they didn't have the manpower to subdue an entire corporate facility and their various assets scattered around Westeria with all the chaos plaguing the city. Much to Ashlyn's chagrin, she needed to give the Aschen a chance to check their firepower before making a move to stop them with force. If they shut down their turrets and called back their troops, this entire scenario would deescalate considerably.

She hoped they wouldn't.

Meanwhile, a small contingent of Ashlyn's force sprinted into a nearby streetway, drawn by the sound of explosions and gunfire.

Though the TAF had ample reason to storm the Tech Con HQ and wholesale arrest everyone involved, it was likely the political repercussions from the Imperial Government would weigh heavily as Tech Con carried considerable political weight within the United Aschen Empire, including the Emperor's ear. Storming Tech Con would have escalated rapidly into military deployments by the Empire and likely full blown war if certain individuals had their way.

As Callandra took a step away, she turned back to Lieutenant MacDuff, her lips pursed as she held a phone to her ear.

"Get me Minister Chaska." She said, winking at the TAF Officer before she proceeded towards her truck, grabbing a second radio, speaking into it while waiting for the phone.

"All units return to Hagan Avenue, Terrans are on their own. We're only protecting Tech Con assets directly from here on out." She said, putting the radio down and staring at the TAF Commanders.

"It's done, now get off company property before this escalates beyond what it needs too, we were acting in self defense." She said, angrily gesturing to the gates of Hagan Avenue.

As Cally turned towards her truck, a pair of Mercenaries approached the TAF group.

"Please, you're trespassing, leave now so this can de-escalate, we've got a lot of work to do."

As the Mercenaries tried to usher Ashlyn off the property, Cally's words echoed in the distance.

"Yeah... I need a rev..."

The words trailed off as she slid into her truck.

"It's done, now get off company property before this escalates beyond what it needs too, we were acting in self defense..."

Ashlyn smiled like a panther. "Good." She nodded to a nearby enforcer. "In that case, Chief, it's my esteemed pleasure to arrest you for suspected assault and murder of Terran civilians." The enforcer stepped towards her to put her in binders, stating her charges to her once more. "Now that you've called off your troops and asked them to return to base, we can arrest them too, in orderly fashion, without having to hunt them down through the city." She turned. "We're also freezing this facility until we can conduct an investigation as to just what the hell happened during this little clusterfuck. Why don't you save my men the trouble of raiding your headquarters and call all your little Shennies out here in the open?"

She turned to the other mercs. "Rest of you. Guns down. You're suspects of terrorism at this point."

A nearby boom tore through the streets. Ashlyn cackled quietly to herself. "Gotta' lotta paperwork ahead of you, Cally."

The Security chief made an incredulous face at the Terran enforcers as she closed the flip phone in her hands. "You're serious? Arresting me for murder? I don't even know what the hell is going on! You better go in there and notify the Imperial Consulate before you start arresting people with no probable cause. I was trying to get a handle on this!"

As she approached the woman to place the binders onto her, the Security chief simply smirked.

"You frakked up but good." She said, not resisting but turning to her specialist.

"Notify the Consulate, the Ministry of Defense is going to want to know about this." She then turned back to Ashlyn. "You just violated about three treaties with the Aschen Empire, including our right to have the Consulate review our charges. This could be considered an act of war."

"I had nothing to do with this, you'll be hard pressed to make any charges stick." She spat. "I'll look forward to your execution when this city is under Imperial Occupation though." She said, winking.

Inside the Imperial Consulate
Ambassador Dreylock was already appraised of the situation as TNG Officials were surrounding the Tech Con facility, watching as the Security chief was arrested and taken away. Picking up her red telephone, a line was opened up directly to Minister Chaska, who happened to be sound asleep as it was the dead of night in Caprica City.

"Chaska." The Minister said. "Minister Chaska, there's been a situation. Dragon attack on Westeria, Tech Con security forces acted in self defense, and now the TNG is rounding them up, I haven't heard a lick of anyone being charged. TNG's moving against Tech Con though, clear as day." Dreylock reported, and there was a long pause on the other end.

"Ambassador Dreylock, lock down your facility, do not let anyone in. I'm going to notify the Fleet of Glorious Interdiction to head to Valore so they can sort this out and prevent the TNG from overstepping and infringing on Imperial Interests. Your embassy staff are authorized to use force to protect yourselves until the Navy arrives. I'll call a Quorum assembly in the morning."

The Ambassador nodded. "Understood Minister." She said, hanging up the phone, before she dialed the Embassy security team.

"Lock the doors and shoot anyone who tries to gain entry, the Terran National Government has turned hostile against the Empire."

Dreylock then hung up the phone, and leaned back in her chair.

"We've got plenty of cause, Cally-girl," Ashlyn replied, still smiling, "and relax, I just saw you call back your men. Now, if there's anything else you need to do to diffuse this little clusterfuck, just let my friend there know." She nodded to the enforcer. "And I'm sure he'd be glad to let you do whatever it is that needs to happen to clean this shit up." She smirked. "And then. Y'know. Promptly escort you downtown." Enforcers pushed past her towards the facility.

"As for the whole 'Consulate' thing, don't worry about it," MacDuff smoothed back her short-cut rain-soaked hair, "I'll take care of that just as soon as I stop having a fucking city to control." She and her men moved past Callandra into the street.

"I'm not helping you, this is your problem." Cally said, shaking her head. "You unfuck this situation. I'm invoking my right to remain silent, and I demand an Archon."

She took a brief look into the sky, and made a face, before she turned back to Ashlyn with a scowl. "I have nothing further, take me downtown or release me."

"Belay that!" Jogging up was a squad of TAF Guardians, the speaker second in line bearing the markings of a staff sergeant. "Lieutenant Ashlyn Macduff, new orders come down from Prime Minister and Minister of Defense directly. You are relieved of command of this situation and ordered to assist in aiding the TAF forces evacing civilians."

Coming to a halt, the man glanced towards the enforcers approaching the facility, bellowing out with barked orders to do a drill instructor proud. "Check advance! Withdraw soldiers!" His entourage, engineer specialists from their insignia, fanned out and began inspecting the local buildings, as he looked to the lieutenant once more. "Staff Sergeant Curtis Novac, Lieutenant. I'll be taking over here to prepare a cordon around Hagan Avenue."

Glancing to the enforcer and Cassandra, he grimaced under his helm. "Subjects in custody at this location are also being remanded to my authority."

Ashlyn offered the man a nod - not a salute. Though he was technically in command, she still held rank. "Alright then, Staff Sergeant. Best of luck." She didn't seem nearly as irate as she'd been with Cally, and took the orders with seasoned calm. Nodding over two of her own troops, she exited the street.

The troops advancing towards the HQ quickly returned, rifles cradled. The bulk of the Tech Con forces outside had been cuffed and sat down, soldiers watching over them.

"Orders, sir?" one of the guardians spoke up. Novac had nearly a full-battalion of guardians at his disposal armed with special weaponry, plus whatever troops he had brought in his own squad.

"We're diggin' in." The sarge responded, turning and pointing towards the surrounding buildings. "We've got roughly a full battalion of guardians to deploy and a company of enforcers to deploy. So here's how we're going to do it..."

___

Nearly twenty minutes later, the cordon was nearly complete, with just a few soldiers moving to their final positions in the surrounding buildings around Hagan Avenue. The coverage was nowhere near perfect, with so few bodies to place to cover the interior, but it was the next best thing. Nearly evenly spaced, a squad of guardians for every two of enforcers, occasionally skipping in the pattern to alternate one for one.

Only two launchers present, and those were well concealed in upper floors at as close to midpoints of the cordon as possible. Four teams equipped and placed for sniper coverage, while the rest were merely stretched to give as much a ring of fire fields as possible.

Once the Aschen had arrived, and the initial attack from the ship completed, one of the many Gravity lift platforms careened down from the Reverence II above. This one impacted Hagan Avenue, smack dab in the middle.

The Prefabricated base deployed quickly, and Imperial Marines fanned outwards, taking cover behind the prefabricated.

A Marine Sergeant called out, signalling his platoon to one of the surrounding buildings. "Clear the buildings, anyone that's Tech Con is to be taken and processed aboard the Reverence, anyone not Tech Con better throw down their weapons or they're getting lit up!"

"Yes Sir!" The Marines called out, while they split up into Six-Man entry teams. As the initial group left the prefabricated base, another company of sixty men dropped down onto the Platform.

"You heard the sarge! Six man teams! Clear the surrounding buildings and light up anyone that doesn't surrender!"

Immediately following the second company, two Lynx IFVs fell down the Gravity lift onto the platform, fully loaded with Marines and armed to the gills, one by one they drove off the Platform and down Hagan Avenue. Immediately following the deployment of the IFVs, Myrmidon Tanks came next, while the Six man teams moved towards the surrounding buildings, inevitably they would run into the TNG cordon, and a firefight would likely ensue.
