The Fallen Writer
The newly christened S.S.Gettysburg was locked in a fight with an enemy Imperial cruiser, there fighters in a deadly silent dance, ships suddenly rupturing from kinetic projectiles. the scene was any admirals nightmare, the Gettysburg was outmanned at 2 to 1 with fewer weapons and fighters, though slightly more advanced. to the onlooker, it would seem the ships were at a standstill, while fighter ships just suddenly rupture. the captain of the Gettysburg sat in his chair looking and scanning the screens for any possible advantage over the enemy, he didn't see any. he had a last ditch though if things went too bad, he would ram the enemy taking them down with him. but he was a strangely not worried about that. and his feeling seemed warranted. the Imperial ship was leaving and looked like it was retreating. "navigation! follow that cruiser and arm the traction missiles!" the admiral says to his crew, they looked shocked. navigation and munitions both hesitated. they were lucky to be alive, why now does the captain want to attack with those missiles? especially while following the ship. but none the less they still followed orders. the Gettysburg chased after there foe. the Imperium was a long-standing government for over a hundred years. they were the main rival of the Confederation Of Planets. the Imperium had initiated war against the confederation, capturing and taking over a very mineral rich world. now four years after that they are still at war. with the Gettysburg chasing after the Imperium cruiser, the navigations officer was frantically trying to get the captains attention." sir! we have to turn back! there's a gravitational anomaly! a black hole!" the officer says sweat going down his face, the man looked like he saw death itself and in a way he did. a black hole sucks everything in and doesn't let it out, ever."evasive maneuvers!" the captain shouts. although it's already too late. they're already in the pull of the anomaly. the Imperium ship is gone and the Gettysburg will soon follow them, but the crew of the Gettysburg jobs weren't done. they had more on their plate more than ever now as they pass through the black hole.
