The Royal Winter Ball will be taking place approximately 2 weeks before the Mage Tournament. As an Academy tradition, the 2 balls that take place throughout the school year are planned around a theme and Celebration of the arrivals of the new students as well as departures in the later event; These are to be planned by the Event Committee closely working with the Student Body Council and the Division of Discipline as to ensure the place, date and events are safe and fun for the whole school to partake in them.
The Event for the Winter Ball this particular year will be planned around a “Winter Wonderland” like theme called "Everwinter". Experienced Cryomancers from faculty as well as 3rd year students, have been asked to help and make it so there is a believable amount of snow within the walls of the events hall whilst ensuring that the ice won’t be a hazard for the students involved.

Guidelines:

  • The apparel worn must be both formal attire as well as suited for the rather cold environment the students will be in during the ball.
  • NO WEAPONS OR OFFENSIVE MAGIC IS PERMITTED WHILE AT THE BALL. Per the DD, their selected members will be the only ones with the capability to bring weapons with them in case any difficulty may arise, which even in previous years, this has not yet been the case and it's intended for it to remain that way.
  • Students above the age of 21 will be allowed to consume a moderate amount of alcohol on the second floor of the building at a bar setup for the 3rd year students and faculty. Again, the alcohol served will be limited, meaning there will be no over drinking of any kind as to ensure keeping a safe environment for everyone.
  • P.D.A Will be monitored, no inappropriate touching will be permitted, though the occasional hand holding, hugging and kissing (of the mild kind) will be allowed throughout the event; We ask that students use their best judgement as to avoid having the embarrassment of being called out by Faculty or a member of the Student Body.

UPDATES
So here is the deadlines we have set!

You have only until the 21st to sign up all your participating characters! Everyone in the Division, Council and Event Committee are already expected to be at the event so if your characters are in any of those, you don't need to sign them up (but you can if you want)!

The event will be up and running from the 27th of January until the 10th of February, so keep an eye on the posting areas as people will be notifying as they come in and leave (We don't want to miss a beat!)

REMINDERS
The event is for our characters to mingle, have fun and meet up with potential allies or friends.

Because the event will be one of the first big events we will be having, at the end the GMs would love some feedback we can take into consideration for future events. So do keep your eyes open for improvements :)

Updates
The sign ups are now CLOSED. If for some reason you were unable to sign up before or what have you, contact one of the GMs (including myself) so we can take you into account when we create post-initiative.

As always, we will keep you updated on Discord as well as here. Our team is super excited to see our group participate!!
 
⎾ Time Frames ⏋

  • The event is scheduled to be going from the 31st until the 13th of February.
  • The sign up period has been closed - one can now only join per special request and approval.


⎾ Participants ⏋

  • As mentioned in the info sheet all members of the Council, Division and Events Committee are required to be there. Meaning that by Default all GMs and Admin will be present with 1+ characters.
  • Omega will have Ruby, Aife, Atlas [3]
  • Kierri will have Iris, Rosa, Esme and Karen [4]
  • Jessie will have Sabra and Yuhime [2]
  • Eren will have Eren and Dmitri [2]

  • Post Initiative should be determined as the event is started.

⎾ Event Threads ⏋

  1. Main Hall
    1. Will include the fancy announcements from our President (Vikki) - Or if Katie is unavailable at that time, we can have Amatsu (the Vice President)
    2. Any character hanging out in the Main Hall will basically be hanging out on the dance floor.
    3. In the event page I attached reference pictures on what I envision the Events Building looking like. The first picture is the main hall.
  2. Banquet/Dining Tables
    1. Food, snacks and drinks will be on the 2nd floor near a kitchen with waiters and waitresses hired from one of the local restaurants in the Island. Tables are separated by years, 3rd years (which consist of mostly 20+ Year olds) are seated closer to a bar, drinking IS allowed but in moderation and the bartender will cut off someone after a number of drinks. Students can sit wherever, the table arrangement is only important when trying to drink alcohol.
    2. Because of the Alcohol, we would need a member or a couple D.D Members chilling here as to keep the peace.
  3. Balcony
    1. The balcony is on the second floor near the banquet. It is an open door that leads to an outer patio for people that need to take a breath or wish to take pictures with the beautiful scenery.
    2. I don’t expect someone to be GMing here, but because it is so close to the dining area, it would be easy for a GM to jump in here to keep the Balcony alive if needed.
  4. Lobby
    1. The lobby, much like the Balcony is set for picture taking and just an overall hang out spot. Having a someone here would ensure students knowing where to go and avoid random people from trying to infiltrate the ball.
 
Update
As the last update, the threads have been created and the Ball has officially started!!!

The way this will work will be, all attendees will be participating in the main hall for the first post or so, after that, your characters will be able to move between the 4 threads accordingly. If you have four characters you can have them spread throughout the threads or all in one. It's up to you!
