EXPERIMENT AWAKENING

In the corner sits a man in a white coat,
smoking at a cigarette.
He sees me enter through this odd
door in his wall.

He smiles a welcoming smile
for he seems to know…
I’ve never seen this place.
His raven black hair falls, loose
around pointed ear, and small fangs
protrude against his pearled smile.

Icy yet kind blue eyes sparkle
in the city lights below.
Putting out his cigarette
in an ashtray of bone
he stands, his lab coat drifting to rest
by his knees as he embraces me.
He smells of faint, fruity smoke
and years of research.
But no wrinkles damper his face.

The room is quiet, save for the soft
hum behind me.
The large window standing before
me glares as I hog the attention.
The man sighs, his warm breath
tickling my neck.

"Good Morning."
