Looking at the date on your PDA, you can see it's 1962... 40 years ago, most of Earth had succumbed to death by nuclear fallout from mutually assured destruction. All that remains are several major cities, countless military outposts, irradiated abominations, and Gaz inc.
Gaz is a massive, inter-continental dictating company that had used the nuclear war as leverage to take control of what human life was left. When cities needed air, Gaz was there for them. When food was growing short, Gaz synthesized supplement packs for artificial sustenance. If there was unrest in the streets, Gaz was there to subdue.
A heavily armored Gaz mobile base, followed by a small patrol of infantry.
With so much power and nothing to stop them, Gaz began to grow mad with power. The cities began to be less and less hospitable to the inhabitants. Forcing all to wear the same bleak uniforms, keeping peace through violence, and killing those who could not work. These are only some examples of the horrors of Gaz cities, and thinking back, you don't even want to try and remember any more.
However, when City 6 erupted in a mass of flames and radiation due to two mysterious subjects, massive panic fell upon the surrounding area. Many died, some fled, and some chose to stay. Those who fled equipped themselves with whatever they could salvage from dead Gaz officers, and sprinted off, passing the now shattered gates of the city. Those lucky enough to slip through, unnoticed by patrols, had another face to spit in - death himself.
City 6 on the horizon, churning with flames and radioactivity.
They were doomed either way, but there are always chances. Looking down at the flickering screen of your electronic device, you can see a set of distant coordinates. The sender is as unknown as the location itself, but it is quite far from any other cities marked on your GPS. After countless trials of survival, you reach the coordinates to find a small outpost housing several other people having a similar story to you- and the same goal.
The leader, or whatever he claims to be, is Pyotr. He's the one who sent out the coordinates to all subjects willing to receive, but this also includes the Gaz themselves. That means they are coming, and that you need to move. Where? Well, there's a bit of faith that plays into our destination. Old rumors of the last remaining safe place emerge from the depths of your memory: The Tower.
It is a massive, creaking metal structure that used to be a metropolis somewhere in southern Asia. It likely houses a myriad of supplies, and quite possibly even the ingredients for agriculture - one believes. This legend is your only hope, and all you have to follow is Pyotr, who claims to know the location. Will you follow him?
TL;DR: Post apocalyptic nuclear wasteland Asia. Gaz = evil company/military force that wants to rule what's left of humanity. You've escaped from a Gaz city that was bombed. After following mysterious coordinates, you find a group of other escapees, and decide to travel together to a legendary tower that is said to hold lots of supplies. The good news? The tower has no Gaz. The bad news? Gaz is hot on your trail. Good luck.
I haven't seen many Sci-fi roleplays here, so I thought I'd contribute with one of my own old creations. I'm looking for experienced roleplayers that can effectively "play to lose".
Characters would be a bit limited, and must be wearing some sort of protective suit - unless they are machines. The atmosphere has very little oxygen, lots of deadly radiation, unstable temperatures, and dust storms. All characters are, at this point, experienced fighters if they've managed to get as far as this. Whether your character specializes in engineering, medical work, or anything else you might want, is up to you.
Weapons will be mostly ballistic. Nothing too crazy, but there will be two specialized characters that carry a sniper rifle, and an LMG (respectively), the others will be limited to rifles and pistols.
It will be easy to die. Signing up for the roleplay means you're signing up for the possibility for your character to die. Just a couple bullets, and your suit is punctured, your skin is infected, and you will go into shock. Unless you get serious medical attention fast, your character will soon be buried under the dust.
It's late, sorry if this is badly written, I'm just curious to see if anyone wants to try this out with me. No limit on players as of right now.
