I used to write poetry a lot and post it on Wattpad, but after moving I've located some post-it notes with a poem I wrote at work. Please enjoy! And I'm always open to feedback!
Little Blue Bird
Little Blue Bird, with broken wings.
I see your heart's injured,
So why do you sing?
The world has betrayed you,
It's oh so cruel.
Why do you sing?
Even though they hurt you.
Why do you try to fly?
When they clipped your wings.
They stripped your feathers
Now your hearts out in the open
Barren, Scarred, Naked, and Broken.
So, why still sing?
Even when your soft voice is taken,
You still try to sing.
Why can't you hate them?
Why try to fly?
Even in your grave your song still rings.
But, they won't remember anything.
And one day once your song disappears,
That's when it stays ringing in their ears.
....
That one was a bit dark, but I sometimes get inspired by the littlest bit of emotion, I let it take me away. First I start with a phrase or a word and go from there. Please give me lots of feedback!!
