The civilization was flourishing; we had entered an era of prosperity unheard of. The Sylvan people had always been strong but with our new allegiance to the Raelian Empire we were untouchable. Trade with the Ayocan was prosperous, the Kotal had not been angered in years, and the Anakim were keeping quiet other than when the odd stray wandered into their territory. Things were great, and then it happened. No one knows what caused it or why it occurred but the burst of magic that changed the world as we know it happened, an event that has come to be known as, The Awakening.


After, this Awakening the land warped and changed. Our lands became more fertile and magical forests grew out of dead plains. However our people were also affected. Those of us who were lucky stayed pure however, those in our coastal cities changed into creatures that excel in hunting and have the ability to breathe underwater. The inhabitants of Enderus got hit even worse as the giants we incorporated into our empire become monstrous in appearance but have proven themselves good for labor so we still tolerate them. The sudden change in this world and our people caused a great strain within our lands so we became more reclusive and shut off from the other territories around us.


As we became more isolated we began to hear strange rumors of the lands surrounding our great nation. We have seen the Stygian Swamp continuously grow in size for no explainable reason, the volcano on the island to the west has erupted warping it, and even the mysterious isle of Sithis becoming a frozen wasteland. There were a rise in reports of monstrous beasts inhabiting the land, mutations of our once human neighbors, and some with the ability to warp the elements in their favor. How much of this is true we do not know. It has been several years since the Awakening and it is time for us to see what has changed. We have commissioned an expedition, with backing from the Raelian Empire, into these lands to document the changes. We will send one of our brightest scholars out along with the Raelian Empire’s envoy into these lands. Hopefully they can get us some answers… and come back alive.​
 
This forum is for our discussions and general questions or lore you may have for me or others. As this world is completely from my own creation I advise asking anything you require as to not conflict with the world. We are also accepting inquiries into being characters either for joining the party, joining at a later part in the story, or just being one time character for a part of it. Finally, this is where we shall keep our character sheets for reference.

Name: Adilyne Storme (Adi for short)

Skills: A skilled warrior, Adi has been chosen for the mission due her stealth and critical thinking in combat situations

Flaws: Adi has very little emotion towards anything. It makes her a skilled killer but pretty much terrible at everything else.

Background: Adi was orphaned at a young age when her parents were brutually murdered by an Anakim giant. Ever since she has been drawn to death and destruction. She was sent away as most Raelians find it an unpleasant topic, though a necessary one. She was trained to be spy on the other nations. In the midst of the current changes, her training is more important than ever...

Appearance: Austen stands roughly 6'0" tall. He is of a skinny yet slightly athletic build. He has curly, medium length, chestnut brown hair, and some chin scruff. He has a light complexion and green eyes.

Skills: A scholar through and through, great navigation and knowledge of the land and culture.

Flaws: Extremely Naive, limited combat knowledge

Background: Austen is a young scholar from the Raelian Territory of Sylvania. He grew up in the Sylvanian city of Enderus, one of the two most prosperous cities in the territory. Austen was raised in a low noble family until the age of 13. At that age of 13 he was expected to learn the sword but showed little promise with it. His family knew this would be an issue so they sent him to the capital city of Lioxes to allow him to focus on studies to make him more palatable for marriage. Austen thrived in his studies being noted as a natural scholar with most areas of study. However, growing up in the capital and being sheltered in the university he has never truly been exposed to society and has become very naivety as he views the outside world in a more fantastical way. This also had him develop a sense of wanderlust. This made him a perfect candidate for the Sylvan/Raelian expedition into the new lands following the Awakening and he was the first to volunteer.
 
@wickedlovely11 I was wondering would the chancellors know of your history or due to your status would they have a fake history. The Raelian representative Chancellor would already know of you but the Sylvanian Chancellor, would he have a false history for you?

To be clear they have background information on all the candidates.
