Adenovirus 423 Pentagon: Headquarters

Description: The current Headquarters for Thanatos Instinct, which is stationed out of what is left of the Pentagon (which is five floors above ground, and two below) and sits on the southern tip of the West's territory. A massive fortress, many of the entrances into the structure remain locked and guarded at all times and a handful of snipers patrol the roofs as well as outlying areas. There are no conventional means of sneaking inside unnoticed that aren’t normally well protected - but there are several underground tunnels that feed into the Headquarters.

It was a twenty-minute leisurely stroll back to Headquarters, which was made even longer once they finally got there. There were perimeters to cross, checkpoints, and an old parking lot full of potholes and cracks where various flora had overgrown as well as aged, rusted automobiles and other obstacles that blocked their path – it was almost like one giant, intricate maze. But it was all by design to some degree in order to slow people down in the case of an attack. If that didn’t do the job, the handful of snipers on the roof scoping out every direction as well as the dozen if not more armed guards patrolling the area would. The building itself, however, was a massive fortress which had formerly been known as the Pentagon.

While the building itself covered a lot of ground, most of the windows had been barred during the war, with entrances fortified and tightly secured. Surrounding the building itself was a chain-link fence with barb wire, and while it was had grown structurally weak over time, it still managed to do its job in keeping people out. There were also always a few people set up at the front entrance, assault rifles drawn and eyes peeled for any suspicious activity. Nobody just walked inside without facing a bit of resistance or being asked a few questions first. And even then, if you were an outsider, you always went with an escort.

Making it through the first few corridors and once he was safely secured inside the building, his security grew lax. Smiling as he was still holding his wife Claudia’s hand, he raised her fingers to his face, kissing her fingertips affectionately as he rubbed her hand against his cheek. “Well, my dear, this is where I leave you. I suspect looking at the time of day that you have some things to attend to. I’ll meet up with you just as soon as I can.” It was painful to release her hand from his, but he turned, stopping only for a moment to collect his thoughts before charging forward, his expression changing a bit dramatically to one of authority that demanded respect.

He noticed plenty of people just wandering around, leaning up against the walls with their rifles loosely set on the floor beside them. Ulric made it a point to stop, looking over to the small groups that had formed in different parts of one corridor or another and flashing a scowl. “Do any of you jerkoffs actually have posts to cover around here, or, are we all just on one big fucking coffee break?” Not much more needed to be said before they broke up and scattered, not so much as a grimace or mumble found in the whole lot. They knew their place in the face of Ulric’s wrath.

As he continued down the corridor, it didn’t take long before he virtually ran into Ishade who almost toppled over him. “What the fuck…” He hadn’t yet finished the sentence.

Ishade was in a rush, coming from the infirmary to find Ulric or someone who handled security, but still, he had to let their leader know!.
He was such in a hurry that he ran into Ulric himself, and since he wasn't paying as much attention as he should he collided with him, yelping in surprise. "O-oh my god!" Ishade interrumpted " I was looking for you, sorry about that... Ulric. " he said, apparently more than a little nervous.
"But you have to know, I was attacked in No mans while looking for ghosts items but I captured my attacker, shes in the infirmary... I dont know where she came from but she pointed a gun at me and wanted me to bring her to your presence or something.. what... what do we do with her??. She's probably awake by now " ishade had spoken at incredibly velocity, almost running out of air and stuttering, stumbling over his own words.

Ghost Saber

Ghost Saber came running down the hallway. She was headed for headquarters but saw Ulric standing in the hallway next to that scout. Oh, yea!!! That scout was supposed to get things for her. She pushed that out of her mind and slid to a stop next to the pair, interrupting them by sticking her notepad in front of Ulric.

"I've cracked it!!! God damn it I've cracked it!!! We could almost power this whole wing!!!" Ghost was speaking so excitedly, holding the plans right in front of Ulric. Not realizing how rude she was being, but she was incredibly excited. This was one of the biggest breakthroughs she had ever made.

As if running into Ishade wasn’t already bad enough, Ghost had to come barreling up behind him, leaving him trapped between the odd pair. “Are you two out of your God damned minds? Here I am, back for not even five fucking minutes, and you two obviously have me on Ulric-dar because we’re in one of the largest buildings arguably anywhere around here, and you two numbnuts just happen to find me! What a fucking coinkydink!” Doing everything in his considerable power to make an example out of the two, he straightened himself out and sidestepped, putting a moderate amount of distance between all of them. “Now, if you two take even one fucking step towards me, I swear to holy hell, I’m going to order Elijah and Isaiah to shoot both of you. Then, I’m going to go take a nap, and I guarantee I’ll sleep better than I had if I hadn’t ordered them to do it in the first place.”

“Let’s see if I can get this straight, obviously with no added help from you two who are about as useless to me right now as tits on a bull.” Obviously, Ulric was being nothing more than crudely sarcastic, but his sense of humor had a way of rubbing some people the wrong way even though very few, if anyone at all, ever said anything to his face. Regardless, he knew how to lead, and make the kinds of decisions that would keep most up at night. “So, Ishade, thank you for capturing someone. I’d love to think maybe it was just a rogue, but I’m sure with my luck, it wasn’t. Let me guess. North? South? You may have started a war, but hey, don’t worry about it, because Ulric will just take care of it like he takes care of everything else!”

Changing his focus, he turned and eyed Ghost, preparing to rip into her. “As for you. I wish you really were a ghost so at least then, you wouldn’t be here right now, irritating the shit out of me. Worse than a fucking poltergeist. You could have been half way done with those plans right about now, but nope; instead, what are you doing? You’re standing in front of me wasting everyone’s time, namely my own.” Grimacing, he took Ishade by the shoulder and took a few steps forward, guiding him down the corridor where he would start towards the infirmary. Stopping briefly, Ulric looked over his shoulder at Ghost. “Well, get a fucking move on. You might find something of use back at the shop too. She is pretty fine if I must say so. I told her to drop by right around now, and you might have originally been there before she did. It’s what you get for pestering me. Told her if you weren’t around, to just try again tomorrow. So, you might want to hurry. Could even score if you're lucky.

Ishade blinked, still... processing Ulrics words as they walked towards the infirmary. He swallowed, now feeling a little embarrassed...

The young man scratched the back of his head, looking at ulric like a kicked dog... " jeeze... Ulric I'm so sorry, I just thought you should be informed." He apologised, looking away next and sighing, shifting and putting his hands inside his pockets.

He knew Ulric had a... particular way of expressing himself and it could come out roughed than it was meant, sometimes. Still... maybe he shouldn't have brought her?, still, leaving her free could have been worse, they wouldn't know who was trying to capture them and why.

Ghost Saber

Her smile soon became an angry scowl as she looked at Ulric with a death glare. If eyes could shoot bullets, Ulric would be riddled with them. Of course, she could see right through the facade of being a hardass. Second, Ulric needed her too much to actually do anything to her. She knew that. Third, if Ulric didn't need her, she would probably just go somewhere else if he stayed this way. Though Ulric had just triggered her anger, and the only thing saving him from looking down the barrel of one of her 1911's was the fact that he was the commander.

"Oi! Gramps! Don't you fuckin walk away from me!! I don't care if you woke up on the wrong side of the nursing home bed and forgot to put on your orthopedic shoes! If you would fucking pay attention, you would have figured out that I NEED PARTS to do this. So no, I couldn't have been halfway done. But you.. since you seem to leave everything to me. Don't be surprised when half your fucking guards have just disappeared with me to go cut some trees down and farm parts. And watch your fucking tone with me, you dickhead! I can see right through that hardass facade, and you should know that given the chance, I would beat that facade right out of you!!"

At this point, Ghost was fucking furious. She threw the pad of paper with the plans at Ulric then turned and walked briskly back towards the workshop. She was supposed to have some hot piece of ass there waiting for her. She wasn't going to complain. She had some anger to work out, and if this person could help, she wouldn't complain. The parts for the electricity farm were now all on Ulric's plate. If he wanted them built, and didn't want all the electricity to go to Ghost's workshop, he would find the parts listed, or come apologize and work it out with her. Regardless of rank, Ghost doesn't take shit from anyone.

If someone saw Ghost walking down the hall, they avoided her because they could see how angry she was. She got to the workshop and surprisingly didn't throw the door open, but just gingerly opened it and walked in. Looking for her hot piece of stress relief.

Ulric had to muster up every considerable effort to hide a grin as he heard Ghost voice her dissatisfaction behind him. He knew her worth, and how valuable she was to everything he was trying so hard to accomplish in the West. While he didn’t hesitate in giving her a hard time just like he did to everyone else, you could still say she was important to him, albeit a bit feisty. Fortunately, he knew he would more than make up for that with the offering he’d sent her way. The pad tossed on the ground wouldn’t have gone unnoticed, however, with either Elijah or Isaiah scooping it up as they followed loyally behind Ulric on their way to the infirmary. Eventually, the plans would land in the hands of Ishade, who would hopefully make the necessary arrangements to procure everything Ghost required in order to complete the proposed project.

“You know, Ishade, you really should learn to take a joke… or it could have been that I was being serious. I guess you'll just never know.” Whatever he meant by that. Opening the door to the infirmary, Ulric stepped inside the room which smelled of rotting flesh and putrid decay. How long before it was him that was in one of these beds, with everyone crowding around him as he took his last breaths?

Useing his sniper to check his surroundings he sees a heavily gaurded building where the blood leads up to. Not knowing the intention of these people he decides to wait on the outskirts for a patrol or someone he can talk to. Tyler decides to take a nap where he hopes he will be safe.

Caius Septimius Leonius, as played by Meliodas

It was already beginning to be a long morning as Caius took his normal stroll through the compound, visiting with several of the men who were just now starting to finally call it a night. Just as their patrols were ending, others would step in to take their place, and the cycle would continue as it always had. Thanatos Instinct was never short on men, or even women for that matter, willing to serve the gang's best interest. While he had been on his way to visit with Adem who waited for him in the courtyard, his attention was drawn elsewhere briefly from mention of someone found sleeping along the borders of the Pentagon. They had been there since late last night and it seemed they hadn’t quite moved on yet. Caius couldn’t say he blamed them considering it was as safe a spot as any if you didn’t mind a trained sniper on you all night ready to put one between your eyes.

The trek towards the edge of their border was a long one, especially as you had to cut through the landmine of cars and various obstacles – including checkpoints, fences, and armed guards at every turn. He went mostly unarmed, with nothing more than a sniper following his every step from the roof behind him. But standing at six foot eight, he was a marvel in itself, one that would have put some of the greatest generals to shame. Though, he was an odd one, to say the least, especially with a mask resembling a skull covering his face and no shirt on outside of a red scarf and armor plating that had been stitched together from one piece of equipment or another to outfit his arms. At least he had a look you could easily consider unique, and not something many attempted to sport.

Casting a shadow over the intruder, which Caius had now made out as a man, he nudged him, even as he slept, with his foot. With a hand on his hip and the other sitting over the hilt of his blade, Caius towered over him, staring down with an obviously blank expression in light of the fact his face was hidden. “What business do you have with Thanatos Instinct?”

Tyler the medic

When he was awoken by a man he was not scared until he saw the man's mask. Who is this guy? Is he from the big building? More importantly, why does he wear such weird clothing? "Hey, I was just sleeping" He laughed trying to lighten the mood. Seeing the man's hand on the sword he got a feeling of anxiety. "You won't need that weapon sir. I was just making a supply run for medical equipment. I saw a man carrying a wounded woman. I also saw a pool of blood that could have been hers. I went to follow the trail of blood and saw that building over there. I scouted the area and saw many snipers on your roofs. I was just waiting here until I was able to talk to somebody. Can you take me to your leader so I can ask a few questions? "

A wounded woman? He must have been referring to the lost pup that followed Ishade home. Great. Just another good Samaritan. Caius was always skeptical of the strays they caught in their net from time to time. They always seemed to have one story or another, but they never lasted. The West was arguably one of the most armed territories throughout the region, with immense manpower and capability to not only defend itself but launch a sizeable offensive as well. Very few people ever bothered to taunt the reaper, especially if they valued their lives.

“As far as you are concerned, I make the decisions around here.” Caius didn’t mean anything by it other than just stating the facts. Motioning his head towards the Pentagon as if to suggest the man follow him, he began making his way back towards their Headquarters. As they reached the front steps of the Pentagon, the man would have been stopped and frisked prior to entering – relieved of anything they would have perceived as a potential threat. Of course, he would get it back… if he were to ever get out of there alive.

By the time they reached the infirmary, it was clear that everyone was awake, so Caius said very little as he left the man there. Thanatos Instinct wasn’t as heartless as their leader Ulric led on, but nonetheless, the man would be watched just as everyone was until he took his leave. Any sort of hostility wouldn’t be tolerated.
