Adenovirus 423 Pentagon: Infirmary

Sanjay Kau, as played by Meliodas

He had done nothing but sleep over the last week thanks to being unconscious, so it was a hard pill to swallow once night had rolled its ugly head around. Sanjay couldn’t stomach sleeping, so instead spent most of it rolling around in bed, tormented by dreams of what had occurred on that rooftop. Something ached inside of him, screaming to know what had become of things. Only a few hours of rest found him in the early hours of the morning before he was awoken by a strange girl hovering over him. This seemed to be a theme in whatever life he had picked up since being in the East. What were they all waiting for, or expecting for that matter?

It took a few seconds for her words to register, so politely, and briefly, he spoke. “Sanjay.” Eyeing the room covertly, he was looking for a way out. Although he was welcome in the West, he doubted their leader, Ulric, would just let him walk out freely. Surely the man had questions. Hell, even Sanjay had questions burning at his soul. But he needed to find a way to go underground. There was a tunnel that ran just underneath the Pentagon, cutting a path right towards Capitol Hill and Obsidian Knight territory. If he could just get there, maybe, he could get home and find out what the hell was going on. Although, there was that chance that everything he had known was already gone and that he would be too late.

It was difficult to keep focus and not just run out of the infirmary again. She didn't like greeting new people, and it was even worse when they were nice. Not that it made much sense, but the friendly girl was difficult to communicate with.

Her eyes followed the movements of the tall girl, and at first she was a little unsettled by the mask, but it wasn't at all uncommon. But what could she possibly need from a mask? Her question was answered as soon as the girl with the bright orange hair managed to pull out gauze and... A chapstick? She hadn't seen one of them in a long time. Her expression automatically changed to be curious rather than scared.

Then the girl grabbed her chin, and Odessa wanted to close her eyes for a moment. No, that's rude, she told herself and found a spot in the ceiling to focus on. Afterwards, the pretty girl introduced herself. She was a lot less scary with a name, strangely enough. Lola. The thought of saying her name with the current state of her lip, she couldn't help but welcome a shiver down her spine. It was always the pretty words that were the hardest to say, with or without an injury. "I like your name," she confessed and swung her legs back and forth slightly. "I'm Odessa." She accepted the chapstick, gently padding the balm onto her lips. "Thank you for helping. I don't fall... Fall often."

Tyler Monroe Medic
While being led through the building he could not help but noticing the sheer massiveness of the base Wow! This place is so big! No wonder they have so many guards are posted. It would be hard to get into here unnoticed. He shivered as a thought wandered into his mind. How hard would it be if you wanted to leave without being noticed? Deciding to suppress the thought he continued to follow the man who has not even told his name. He felt vulnerable without his weapons to use if a fight broke out.

Upon entering what he could only assume was the hospital of sorts he realized that the man had left him there with a few guards he looked around and spotted the woman he saw being carried away by the man. She is not hard to spot. Look at the bright orange hair. She was talking to another woman. He wanted to go talk to her but quickly dismissed that idea. Best not have people angry at me if I want to leave in one piece.

Chuckled happily as the girl accepted the chapstick and didn't push away her attempts to be friendly. Her cheeks glowed softly as she picked at her bandages on her right arm. Unable to really use her dominant arm she felt like a crippled parrot without a wing. Just a pretty bird unable to do what she enjoyed most.

"Oh why thank you Odessa.~" she memorized the name connecting it to the girl easily."It happens to the best of us, just get back up, adapt and survive" she suggested as she looked at her bandaged arm before she felt someones eyes on her. Looking up she spotted the newcomer, her bright blue eyes seemed to glow. Fantastic. A rogue? In western territory? What for? Either way she decided she would make another friend today and waved to him with her good hand. "Hello there sweetie, how can I help you?" She tilted her head as she asked. Taking a moment to thoroughly observe the young rogue.

Gently rubbing Odessa's shoulder as she stood up and stretched. Clearly not at all ashamed for how much skin she showed. Her bikini top seemed to magically cling to what modesty she had left. A wrinkly long sleeve shirt used the camo pants she wore to stay around her waist, used when it got too cold for comfort or during the night. Tossing her gas mask back onto her bed in the corner she saw the guard jolt and smirked before returning her attention back to the rogue, waiting for an answer patiently.

It was quite nice to have someone to talk to, although Odessa did mostly prefer being by herself. The thought of getting to know somebody and caring for them as much as she had done her other friends, only to see them die in the end, wasn't exactly her cup of tea. If only they were to find this damned key soon enough, whatever it was, whomever it was.

The girl seemed to spot something after having exchanged words with Odessa, and she felt a warm hand rubbing against her shoulder before the owner of it stood up, stretching, looking in the direction of a newcomer. Almost as if on command, Odessa followed her glance, narrowing her eyes. She didn't trust rogues one bit, especially ones she hadn't come across before, but it wasn't like it was her job to trust anybody. She just had to scout for things.

"Thank you for the help, but I'm leaving. Please be careful," she said to her new acquaintance as she got up with a sigh, eyeing the person in front of them, not giving them a friendly look. Then she walked past them both, only to leave the infirmary.

Looking around him to see who the lady with the orange hair had talked to. The woman next to her left with a glare towards him. Noticing that he was still guarded but besides those watching his every move he was alone. Glancing back at his observers he walked up to the lady. "Hey! my name is Tyler. I saw you being carried by a man while you were bleeding. I was coming to check to see if you were being cared for or if this place had enough experience and enough supplies." He looked around. "But I did not know how much this place had so many people." He looks at her body noticing her bandaged arm. There is no way she fell unconscious from a hurt arm and there was nobody else on the road at the time as far as I could see.

Realizing that he did not answer her question he quickly looked up to her. "I am a medic and was making sure your people could take care of you." I really want to make sure her wound is healed."Do you mind if I look?"

Waved to Odessa, pouting softly as the girl left. Looking to this new person she chuckled at how eager he was to help. Rubbing her head and playing with her bangs to show a gash on the edge of her scalp from being hit with a rock. "I am Lola.. Nice to meet ya!" She calmly turned before walking back to her corner and the bed that was there.

"I don't mind, although for a rogue. Especially for a medic you shouldn't be following strangers" she smirked. "What if you had been killed? Captured? Worse?" She asked watching how he behaved carefully as she raised her right arm to him. "I don't mind.. If ya kill me either make it pleasurable or quick" she teased confidently before crossing her legs.

Seeing the gash made him realize why she was unconscious. "How would you know if I am a rogue or not? Plus, why would these people not release if I was helping one of their own?" Taking and studying her arm he found that the wound had been dug into and blood had seeped out of it. He paused to think. Is she just inflicting pain on herself or is she being hurt? "There is no infection luckily. Your people know how to clean a wound" he. He cleaned up her wound again and stitched it shut and gave her some antibotics on the surface of her skin. He rewrapped it and made a makeshift sling out of an old tank top and gave her some antibiotics he had found after he had dug into his bag. "Be easy on your arm and it might heal before too long. Although you may have a nasty scar."

Turning his attention to her head and seeing the gashes on it. There is no way she could have done that to herself on accident. "So how did you hurt you head? Did you trip and hit your head?" He asked with a chuckle trying to lighten the mood and keep his mind off of the fact that he was having his every move watched.

Chuckled and shrugged, "when you are a scout for long enough it is easy to tell who is allied or not allied to who. I am just a good people person" Lola offered a mischievous smile before she clenched her teeth and looked away as he treated her arm. Breathing heavily and barely holding back tears as her arm was stitched together. Wiping her eyes with her left arm once he finished. Sniffling as her arm burned with pain.

"I highly doubt I'll be able to for very long." She paused as he asked how she hurt her head before smirking. Taking a deep breath, "Because I am not from the West, I am a Southern gal. These people are not mine, if anything I am their... Guest.. Until their big guy decides what to do with me" she chuckles before laying down, her severe headache returning. "The guy you saw carrying me, stabbed my arm when I threatened to shoot him point blank and then knocked me out with a rock. And now unless my luck makes a turn for the better I will become a public slut for the West!" She laughed half heartedly before shading her eyes from the light in the room.

West? South? What was this woman going on about? She must not realize I am not from this area. With his suspicions confirmed he took a long pause, So people are not allowed to leave on their own free will? I wonder if the tall guy will let me leave, or if he knows anything about the people who had killed his family. Realising he had just been sitting there doing nothing he quickly stood up. "I have finished, but I will be back soon to check your arm and head again." To see if the wound is forced open again. He almost wanted to add but thought better of it since his watcher's eyes were boring into his back and every move.

Turning to leave he paused, "If you need anything just ask for me." Then he walked up to the guards and asked to be escorted to the leader of the gang. Letting his mind wander to who else they have kept here aginst their will.

Chuckled as he wore a clueless expression before shaking her head, "Best ya run as soon as you can.." she muttered quietly before laying down on her bed. Grabbing the gas mask at her side and placing it over her nose and mouth. Taking in the familiar and comforting scent it cared.

Her bright blue eyes staring blankly up at the cieling contempting what she could, should and would do next. The burning pain in her arm keeping her awake however dark circles were becoming evident on the otherwise healthy woman. Not to mention hunger grew in her stomach with each moment she laid there. The initial rush of adrenaline when she fought with Shade and then woke up to go through the lovely treatment Ulric had put on her. To put simply she had crashed hard and now was tired, hungry, and anxious.

"What do you mean he is not seeing anyone?" He pinches the skin between his eyes in frustration. "Is there anybody I can see?" Ishade? Who is he? "Yes. That will be fine. Can you take me to him or do I have to wait here?" Getting the answer he did not want he releases a long sigh. "How long will it take for one of you to go get him?" Sits on a bed and looks around. Will I ever talk to someone about these people? I wanted to help that lady a lot... Now all I want is to leave... Maybe even be granted passage through the territory when needed...

Ulric Zion Driscol, as played by Meliodas

Something was off about Ulric as he wandered through the corridors, his security not far behind. In an almost unusual fashion, he didn’t make a scene as he normally did, and almost went completely unnoticed as he made his way to the infirmary. Rumors had already begun to spread that Ulric simply had the stomach flu. Although he never asked about what exactly she was giving him, Claudia’s remedy seemed to have done the trick, and after a good night’s rest, he felt back to his usual self. Although, he didn’t maintain his usual rancor, and instead decided to say very little to anyone. Ulric didn’t even bother really looking at anyone as he passed them by, nor did anyone have the gall to approach him.

He refused to step into the infirmary for fear of embarrassing himself a second time, so he stood outside, sending a few of his men inside in order to coax out the woman whose name he still had not requested. It was about time he had a word with them and discerned what sort of "connection" they were really looking for. Little did he know about the rogue Caius had trapped in his net just earlier.

It was hard to discern how much time had elapsed, but Sanjay was lost in thought and seemed to stare into the void as he continued to consider his options. Sanjay hardly even noticed that the girl he had been talking to was gone, and he didn't even pay much attention to what her reply may have been - or whether she had even made one in the first place. Everything that had transpired still seemed like a blur, and it was difficult for him to accept that it hadn’t been just yesterday that he was on that roof with his eyes on Asha. He knew nothing of what had happened, whether his comrades were alive or dead, and it ate at his very soul just thinking about it. Sanjay had overheard someone mentioning it had been a week since he was brought in, but the events were still freshly burned into his mind.

Finding the strength to sit up, he found his clothes neatly folded in the dresser beside the bed, still stained with his blood. Ironically, Sanjay had a room held for him in the West in light of his travels regularly bringing him there. In a way, he was an envoy, an unofficial ambassador that bridged the divide between the two gangs. However, he had secret intentions for why he took that role when he wasn’t protecting Asha. Kato.

Five years ago, him and Asha, while brief, consummated whatever odd relationship existed between them. No one knew it outside of a select few, but the kid they claimed died was very much alive. He was about four now, and in the strict care of the West, albeit secretly and under Claudia's care. Not a soul in the West or East knew the truth outside of a select few. No one had even the slightest suspicion. While Kato did not know his parents, Sanjay felt that for the benefit of himself and Asha, he should check in on the boy when he could. This was something Asha would never do herself, but it seemed as if that didn’t even matter anymore considering the chances were high that she was gone.

Lola had remained within the infirmary, humming softly to herself. Songs which she had heard being sung around campfires and among the thrill of a celebration. Her injured arm still up in a sling making her chest more modestly covered. Spending her days meditating and thinking of various outcomes. Her bright red hair stood out against the dull grey space. Her gas mask had been put back on her face covering the majority of her expressions. Her bright blue hues all that could be read.

Hearing the door open she sat facing the wall she heard more than the usual footsteps enter. Chuckling she undid her mask, letting it hang around her neck. Flopping backwards she looked across the room watching the upside down body guards walk towards her in oh so formal fashion. "Ohh! I have guests? How can I help you darlings?" She cooed playfully, protecting her injured arm with her left she stood up.

Listening to their orders she nodded eagerly at the idea of progress. Even if it meant she was being thrown away, anything was better than being in a strange, boring, and utterly lonely place. Skipping past the guards she want to the infirmary door, not a care whether she would be greeted by heaven or hell. Opening the door to be greeted by the oh so familiar face. "Hello handsome! We meet again!" She smiled ear to ear. Glancing back at the guards behind her.

Far from amused, Ulric’s gaze narrowed as he adjusted to the fact he was talking to an outsider. “Don’t think I have not forgotten how our last little encounter went. I think it is about time we connect.” Whether the wink was flirtatious, one of malicious intent, or even sarcasm was unknown, but he winked subtly as he started down the corridor towards his den. Ulric expected the woman to follow him, but Elijah and Isaiah would be following close behind in order to make sure she complied. As they walked, Ulric tried his best to keep the chitchat to a minimum but still wanted to at least get the pleasantries out of the way. “I am sure by now you know who I am. The question is, who are you?” The last time he asked that question, it didn’t quite end well, so he was changing tactics. He would make every attempt to be civil with the woman if only to get her name and figure out exactly where she came from.

Sanjay paid little attention to the petty politics but waited for things to simmer down before struggling to the door. His legs were weak after being immobile for several days, and his belly ached with hunger. Running his tongue over his lips, he realized they were cracked and dry - throat parched. It would take every bit of his strength to make it to the living quarters where a fresh set of clothes waited for him.

Once he felt assured that no one had their eyes trained on him, he crept out of the infirmary, wearing nothing more than a loose-fitting hospital gown as he feebly headed towards his destination. The place was a maze, and he had almost forgotten just how big it was but was instantly reminded once he reached the living quarters.

The woman became bubbly as Ulric spoke, his hostile intentions were subdued. The words he spoke could go many ways but she simply smiled ear to ear. "Now we are talking!" She snapped and pointed to him with her left hand. Her sunburned back had become tanned, even though it was cold out the sun was still relentless when all you did was lie on your stomach for hours on end.

Tagging close to his right sides she enjoyed the soft thump of their footsteps along the concrete floor. Looking over Ulric curiously, "I believe you are Ulric leader of the west. However with such a change in mood I wonder if you are his secret twin or something.." she commented on his change of tactics. Smiling warmly her bright blue eyes mischievously watched the side of his face. "I am Lola, from the south. Hence my past comment I am from where the sun don't shine... It is a reference to the insult to shove it where the sun don't shine.." She chuckled, hoping that she could keep on this good side of his. Collect some brownie points, get new connects, not get killed, etc.

Caius Septimius Leonius, as played by Meliodas

With Caius having wrapped up his inquiry with Adem, word quickly reached him that their new guest which he had picked up this morning was asking questions. They wanted to speak with Ulric, which was ordinarily out of the question. The West operated under a chain of command, and customarily you had to go through Caius or Ishade depending on the grievance before speaking to Ulric directly. Ulric was busy enough and made it clear that he was to be removed from anything that wasn’t pressing.

Arriving in the infirmary, he found his man and came up behind him, tapping him on his shoulder. What a sight he must have been, towering over him with his six foot eight frame. “I am hearing you wish to speak with Ulric. His time is valuable, and he doesn’t take time out of his day to address rogues. Fortunately for me, that job falls squarely on my shoulders.” His words left an invitation to hear out the mans concerns.

As he had just gotten comfortable someone had tapped his shoulder. Turning around he sees a man who had a tired and busy look on his face. Finally having someone who he could talk to Tyler's thoughts and concerns had begun to race in his mind letting only short and awkward sentences sputter out of his mouth. "I was um... I wanted to... If you might..." Pausing to take a breath, Calm down Tyler letting his mind calm down he collected his thoughts. "I was wanting to know when I would be free to come and go as I please as to offer my assistance as well as given the ability to travel through the territory as a shorter way than around the whole outskirts..." Realizing that he was asking a lot he quickly added "I would also be glad to help if you needed emergency healing for any wounds if I am not available there is a shack on the outside of the city... I will be there with my wolf, don't worry he is usually kind." He rests his sentence there not wanting to give the man too much at once after all he was still here not freed yet.
