I think I have to hop on the both train. It's quite fun to see magitech in stories and even separate, they both have their charm. I love both Sci-fi and Fantasy. I'd say I care more about the story than the mechanisms behind the characters abilities.

That's a hard choice. Miles Vorkosigan from the Vorkosigan Saga is definitely up there. Ender is an interesting character, and I really like Amdiranifani from A Fire Upon the Deep. Murderbot is wonderful, and should only have good things happen to them. I of course love Shadow from my own story...
