Name: Maybelinna Char Lincon

Appearance: For her age, Maybelinna is an elf of a character. She hits just about 6', and has the physique of a ballerina. She's barely 145 pounds, and has very little fat. She tends to dress warmly, since the lack of fat and her poor circulation causes her to be cold. She has vitiligo, and heterochromia because of it. [I'll upload a picture of her colorings on a later date] One eye is a dark brown. The other, where the discoloration begins at her cheekbone on the left and spreads like a wide scar on her eye, is hazel. She has no piercings, tattoos, or any personal changes to her body. Her hair is dark brown and ends at her waist in frizzy waves. She keeps it long to protect her scalp and skin.
Weapons: A machete she grabbed from a shed before running. She is very versatile in what she beats people up with though.
Personality: Maybelinna has various layers. At first glance, she's sweet and caring, and a little bit naive. She trusts very easily in people, especially if they return her kindness. She has a bad habit of giving the wrong people second chances. She enjoys playing the act of sweet and caring human, since it attracts others. All Maybelinna really wants in life is human interaction and care. She feels difficulty connecting to others, and never knows if a relationship is genuine, causing her to feel very alone in the world, despite it being true or not. Deep down, she knows how terrible people are. She can generally recognize lies, and isn't as naive as she plays to be. Mostly, she says her survival has been luck, but truthfully, she knows how lucky she is to have the skills she has acquired.
The community she was raised in allowed her to gain a lot of knowledge, since before the attack, they had a lot of books and notes. She didn't actually develop as many of the farming skills as she probably should've, focusing more on the arts, and combat areas of her learning, and reading any book she found.
Biography: Maybellina was born in a small community based on farming. They kept their head low, and felt as one large family. When children were born, they weren't given parents. Instead, they were raised in the community to be loved by all. Everyone was required to learn farming and animal handling, some form of art, and basic hand-to-hand combat. By age 14, you're given a job and the community was working quite swell. Unfortunately, a passing band of raiders ruined it all.
The community was attacked when Maybellina was 13, before she could finish her training. Not that she was very deep into it, most of her time she was supposed to be learning in-depth of animal training or farming, she was reading into the sciences, and any other book she could get her hands on. At 13, she could survive on the land since she knew what to eat, but being alone had a toll on her. At 14, when she stumbled upon the West Gang, she would do anything to join. Humans and the prospect to help others was all she personally valued- that the gang could give her.

Personality:
A very selfish, controlling figure, Ulric has only ever cared for the world in which he walks on. His ego forces him to believe that he is the only man who can bring order to the war-scarred world past generations have created; that it was meant to be him who found the 'Key' that would unlock a brighter future. A life of survival has lead him to this, a life of being a loner and depending on no one but himself which has driven him to the irrationality that he was meant to be the leader of the "new world" - nothing but the taste of victory mattered.

He is known to be cold and rash, a man who will do absolutely anything to accomplish his goals - even if that means death being an option. Affection? He shows none, cold not being a temporary persona for him. He does not even show compassion to the children who grace his presence, their life meaning as much to him as any other adult - all of the people who work under him are meant to fight, to be warriors, age being of no consolation to him. Life is naturally cruel, so to Ulric, everyone needs to be able to defend themselves. Not even gender is a factor: Men, women, all equal. As they say, "everyone for themselves.”

Religion? Does he have one... ? No one knows, but he is frequently seen playing around with a metallic cross and chain connected to his belt which brings up many questions. In truth he is not a God-fearing man, having no belief in the deity or force in which is supposed to rule over all of mankind. If there was such a God, why would he let the world be consumed while leaving him and the others here to rot? The ‘Key’ was his only objective, and he didn’t plan on letting any God or man get in his way. People were dying left and right, so there was no other goal.

Though he had to wonder... was the 'Key' meant to be nothing more than a test... ? Was this war just another way for God to cleanse the world of the scum that inhabited it? Most people already believed the world would next die by fire... was this hell... ?

Equipment:
Ulric uses wolverine-like claws that strap to his wrists and hands, in which he uses for both offense and defense - preferring them over guns. He prefers knives because of the slightest bit of honor he has left, and the current state of the world making it difficult to obtain a good arsenal of bullets - for now, he is conserving his resources. His style is purely invested in speed, with little or no strength needed since he uses his foes weight against them when delivering the final blow. It is possible that he keeps two fully-loaded - 15 round magazine - M9 pistols hidden somewhere near his shins.

History:
Fighting, that has all Ulric has ever known to do, to fight for his survival. He was on his own at eight, left in the dark as his parents rotted on the cold wood floor next to him. For days he sat there, curled up into a ball, afraid... clueless. It took instinct to pull him away from his fetal state, the instinct to live, to survive, and to fill the emptiness in his stomach. He left with nothing, no clothes, trinkets, no other defense but his outer, fleshy prison. He traveled from place to place, getting food where he could find it, finding shelter in the grodiest of places. Ulric was alone, and he hasn't once accepted that could change.

Months spent walking, traveling from state to state, city to city; he was 12 years old by the time he finally found life/refuge again. One of the greatest of civilizations had been reduced to such shambles, numbers only in the twenties; they were just like him, trying to survive, trying to get by with what they had. It was only when he heard the story of the 'Key' that he truly found hope; hope that he could live on, that his time was not as limited as he first thought. It would be his destiny to find the 'Key', to harness its power and bring peace to mankind... that was until he got selfish.

Fate made Ulric its leader, the leader of what remained to the West of the greatest capital on Earth, the leader of Thanatos Instinct.

Other:
The cruel truth is that Ulric has been affected by the Adenovirus (ADV423), a fact in which no one knows about. Twenty-two years of age, you would naturally think he had it, which is true, but Ulric has long lied about his age; everyone coming to believe that at the current time, Ulric is only 20 years old, a year short of retracting the disease. For now, he hides the "small" symptoms.

Problems that this could cause are possibly dire. He is the leader of Thanatos Instinct, a man who holds all the cards, a position that many could not fill. He also could accidentally open a new door of fear; fear that the virus is now being retracted at a younger age.

Appearance
Claudia stands at about 5'4", and has a very thin build. Her light brown eyes show her soft, kind soul, and are a compliment to her dusty blonde hair. Her skin is tan in color from her days of wandering in the sun, and she has small cuts on her hands, arms, and legs from falling, or gathering supplies.

Weapons
Claudia doesn't like fighting, and she never has. She's a healer, and therefore carries around little pouches full of medicines and medical supplies that she's picked up in along the way in her travels. When she goes out from the safe house she always carries a bag that contains items to make different medicines, bandages, and the like. However, her husband Urlic forces her to carry a small pistol and some throwing knives just to be safe.

Personality
Claudia is a kind hearted person that just wants to help people. She hates the fact that she has to carry a weapon around because she feels that it goes against what she is about. She's wanted to be a doctor from a young age hoping that she could one day find the key so that she can heal people, and restore the population. She'll often go out to gather medical supplies which she knows angers her husband, but if she is to keep learning about medicine she knows that she needs to due such a thing.

One of her favorite things to do is read the different medical books that she finds while exploring for supplies. She believes that knowledge is the key to finding a cure, and that she must keep learning to obtain this knowledge. While she never received any formal schooling she has learned from others, and from her actions. Her favorite books to read however are ones with many pictures though because the big medical words can be hard for her from time to time, and she always hates ask Urlic for help.

Biography
Claudia became an orphan at the age of 5, leaving those in the Obsidian Knights to raise her. She watched as those around her, those that helped raise her and were people she called her friends and family, slowly die. When she was 7 she found a medical book that talked about different treatment methods for various things. While reading it she decided she wanted to become a doctor, and to find the key and to cure people. A few months after turning 8 she began exploring on her own for different supplies to the dismay of her care takers. She felt it was necessary to go out on her own from time to time, and look for supplies.

When she was 10 she set out on her own. She knew that she needed to travel in order to find different supplies and books to read. She was told to head West, given a compass, and a few things to sustain her. She traveled for days in the hot sun; picking up different things along the way, and helping those that needed help. Finally, after several months of travel she made it to the Thanatos Instinct location, and upon proving that she was from the Obsidian Knights that gave her a room to stay in.

She wasn't planning on staying for long as she wanted to continue collecting knowledge, but she had met someone special to her. While he was five years older than her, Urlic had caught her attention, which no one else had before. He was rough and rude to many people, and to her when others were around, but when she was alone with him, getting help understanding something, he was kind and gentle. As the years went by her visit turned turn into a permanent residency, and she slowly fell for the rough and tumble boy. She continued her studies of medicine and still ventured on her own from time to time to look for things. When she was 15 she told Urlic of her love for him, and was surprised to hear that he felt the same. A year later they wedded and she moved her things from her room to their room, which use to just be his.

Name: Ishade (shade or Shady) Luseth Terron (has two surnames because he was born in Spain)

Appearance: Ishade is a rather tall guy, being around 190 cm tall, and having a rather average weight.

He has some muscle but isn't too strong. However, his speed and resistence make up for that.

Hes got really dark wavy brown hair, which he wears more or less short, and rather strange eyes, purple coloured. (Something very rare but not unnatural). His skin is naturally a little dark and hes got some freckles, besides a blue tick tattooed on his left cheek, and another tattoo of collected barn owl wings that covers most of his back.
Ishade is also missing his right pinky finger, the result of a rather unfortunate accident.

He is usually seen wearing a beanie, he has several of them, some say he collects them. A hoodie or sweater and dark blue skinny jeans, also, runners, or any kind of trainers that allow him to walk and run for wuite some time without hurting his feet.
Several scars adorn his body, but there are a few he wouldn't show off, in suspicious places like wrists and underside of the arms.
One piercing is on his tongue, there are two just under his lower lip.. and thats it.

He also wears gloves and protection on his knees and shins, which allows him to jump from slightly higher places and not have his knees or shins badly damaged.

Weapons: Ishade spends most of his time scouting areas, so he has several daggers and knives, which he is very skillful.

Also, gloves with hard metal knuckles, which form short and hard spikes. Very useful for punching.

The boy also owns an ar-15, but its incredibly old and he doesn't have any ammo for it, so at least for now it is left without any use.
Personality: Ishade is a rather complex person. On the outside he can be quiet, but also nice and very polite. But once you get to know him he becomes way more talkative, likes to make jokes and tease a little, always avoiding to cross the line, though. He can seem a little cold sometimes but he is really empathetic on the inside.

More than anything, ishade believes in the cause and in Ulric, he strongly believes the key will be found and always puts the gang and others before himself, what can make him a little reckless when his own life is what hes risking. His faith is very strong and he would do absolutely anything to help out.

But where Ishade stands as a nice guy and a really kind person, hes also pretty sentitive and even when he seems unaffected by other peoples words, they hurt him.
His self steem is really low and he likes to feel valid and accepted among other people, sometimes he can result a little tiring, seeking validation, attention and affection... which he would give without hesitation. He also tends to think of himself as a bother so while he does seek company, he doesnt let it be know that he feels lonely as often as he should for it to be healthy, and he is one of these people who are always fine, but they are actually never fine, they just dont wish to bother others.
Biography:A while after ishade was born, he was abandoned by hid actual parents and another teen, Lukias, whose surname he has kept. Took care of him and raised him as well as another girl named Olivia. They played a happy family until ishade was five and Olivia was killed by ravenous dogs, who also ripped ishades pinky from him. They were only able to save ishade, lukias and more people scared the dogs away.
By then, Lukias, Ishades older step brother, was 17.

After that, they realised that alone they would be in constant danger, so they decided to join the west gang, which was the one Lukias considered better. Ishade grew up then around these people, whose ideals stuck to him and in which he believes in.

Lukias died whe he was almost 26, and ishade was already fourteen... and he really had ana extremelly bad time. He and Lukias had always been together for as long as he could remember, and without lukias he was nothing, he was alone, he didnt know what to do. It made him fall into a deep well of depression, which he hasn't completely come out of yet, he had some issues with self harm, he has had them since then, but he is good enough at lying that no one has ever realised them. He became a scout because it granted him time alone, and he is pretty good and skilled. Since then hes quieter and colder, slowly drowning in sorrow and guilt, very, very slowly.
Other: He has a collar lukias gave him, with a barn own on it. A tiny and beautiful white barn owl.

Appearance: Ghost is 5'7. She has long legs which are often hidden underneath her cargo pants. She tends to only wear a type of sports Bra to cover her full chest. She is in fantastic shape from working on machines, forging, and just tinkering in general. Her grease and dirt smudged sneakers can be seen peeking out from underneath her pants. Her head is crowned by a mane of light red hair. She technically weighs 135 IBS. Some might call that heavy, but she has a fair amount of muscle tone from working.
Weapons: Two .45 ACP 1911 Handguns with Compensators

Personality: Ghost is absolutely not shy, but not very outgoing on the other side of the spectrum. She rides the middle line between introvert and extrovert. On top of that, she knows that she has what most males, and even females, would consider a great body to match her beautiful face. Ghost isn't much of a flirt unless she is trying to obtain something. When she wants something, she will go to almost any lengths to get it. Otherwise, she tends to be observant but generally, minds her own business.

Ghost is very Trustworthy and loyal to causes she believes in. She is not an overly violent person, but won't hesitate to protect those she care about and supports. As a genuine believer in the cause of the Thanatos Instinct, she wants to do everything she can to help find a cure. Since Ghost believes that she is the best Engineer in the world, she will wholeheartedly stand by all of her work, as well as ideas.

Biography: Ever since Ghost was a child, she loved tinkering. She would spend her time in the shop messing around. She was working on vehicles by age 10. She was forging, fabricating, and designing things by age 12. Since then, Ghost has been honing her skills and doing everything she can to assist the faction. As soon as Ghost could safely hold and fire a gun, she began shooting. Needless to say, she absolutely loved it. When Ghost wasn't in the shop working, she could be found in the shooting range.

After years of hard work, she was finally able to acquire a pair of 1911 handguns. She promptly began engineering upgrades to make them easier to fire. It took a few months, but ghost manufactured some compensators to lessen the kick enough for her to accurately fire them at the same time, one in each hand. Using this expertise, she is constantly working on Faction weaponry to make them better. As well as working on the factions vehicles to also increase performance. To be precise, if someone wants anything designed, fabricated, built, repaired, etc, then Ghost is the girl to come visit.
