Character Summary: Maere’s arrival to the Order was no matter of political gain, nor any attempt to curry favor. Maere, at the age of nine, was among a group of orphans who were ushered to the Monastery for recruitment. However, she did not let this humble, even unflattering entrance define her. She was no simple orphan, and she made sure they knew it. She proved herself worthy of recruitment, and made a good first impression amongst those that judged her. She had great potential, hidden underneath the grime and wear from the city streets.
In her time as a proselyte, she knuckled down in her studies when it came down to it, not allowing anything to get in the way of her goal: to be the best paladin she could become; to prove she was worth the chance she had been given. That being said, she did not slack when it came to building friendships with her fellow proselytes, as she knew it would be essential to build these relationships with the people she felt were her family.
When it came to combat, she grew to be an excellent swords-woman in her own right. However, it was her marksmanship that she favored for the most part, taking every chance she could to be more accurate as her training intensified. As such, she would reach for her lawmaker before unsheathing her sword, but would have no problem switching over if the need arose.
As for her stance on the religion, and her feelings about werewolves and the like, it was simple. She enveloped herself into the Order’s beliefs, in full belief that it was by these tenants that she was saved from her bleak future. She is devoted to her god, and is distrusting of Vampires, Werewolves and Necromancers, no matter how trustworthy or friendly they behave or even really are. She has a deep seated hatred for undead, or those who are reanimated, the reason for which is unknown to anyone but herself.
