Satire

Silence

Anonymous Me
Satirical Sonnet

I wonder who did plague the world with thee?

Pity those who labor on the sonnet

Thy wretched line and verse doth torment me

Simile and metaphor doth don it

Thy gaudy dress adorns the lovesick soul

Parading through such tales as Romeo

True love and virtue their apparent goal

My heart doth throng for love’s sweet song sung low

Shakespearian adventure gone awry

Othello and Macbeth did meet their end

The Portuguese in rage and horror cry

No other verse for this one can amend

How grand the world would be if not for thee

The sonnet verse and rhyme is not for me
