Honestly, it doesn't hurt to not be on at the exact time. I'd say within a span of a few hours is good.
Normally I'd say a post every 1-2 days should be a steady rate, but if your character is active you can exceed that limit.
I am generally going to try to keep my posts >500 words. Normally in a regulated RP, I'd post 1-2k words, but I have a lot of leverage in spreading out my posts now.
