Gentaro nodded to Billy, before he swapped out the Flash and Spike switches with the Rocket and Drill switches, right before he switched them on.

With the rocket on his right hand, Gentaro flew up in the air, as high as he could go, before pulling the lever on the side of his Fourze Driver and a robotic voice called out.

ROCKET DRILL LIMIT BREAK!

The drill on his left leg then began to rotate at high speeds, before the rocket began to propel Gentaro forward at high speeds!

“RIDER ROCKET DRILL KICK!!!!” he yells, as the drill leg began to aim for the horde of monsters!​

"Dammit, there's so many...!" Touma grunted through gritted teeth as he punched out the hostile figures that came his way. As he'd made a gambit on, these mooks were no different from those Heartless creatures back during the Revanchist War, in that their strength was definitely in their numbers, but considering their origin was rooted in something unnatural, something supernatural, the power of the Imagine Breaker was able to instantly erase each individual hostile with but a touch. How long they could keep this up though, the boy had no way of knowing. As Elliot's voice began to ring through the chamber again, Touma let out a labored breath.

"Elliot, you're not in the right state of mind! Whatever Comstock or whoever did this to you, you don't really mean all that!" He called out as he continued fending off the enemies.

Touma would hear a faint song nearby, and water from the very air would pelt into many of the beings nearby to thin their numbers in an attempt to help the high schooler out in some way. Water turned to ice shards, impaling many of their enemies as Touma spoke to Elliot in an attempt to snap him out of whatever came over him.

Spoiler: Replies

Of the suggestions about the mystery of Comstock, Billy found Jianyu's the most intriguing. "I can't say I know Revan well, but he doesn't seem like the kind of evil bad guy who wouldn't have safeguards against... well, people like us."

Elliot still didn't really understand any talk that had to do with Revan or loops. His brain had rejected thinking about it outright, though a part of him knew he should be engaging with that information. "Is Comstock really as bad as you say, Bridgette?" he asked, moving forward. "All I've read about him told me he was a good man. Columbia exists because of him."

"Perhaps that's the problem," Cullen offered, though Elliot wasn't sure about that.

When the group neared the entrance, they found a strange, shimmering light. "Careful," Billy said, though Elliot approached it anyway.

"It looks like a tear..." he said, reaching out for it. Before anyone could stop him, the tear shimmered brightly and enveloped Elliot. All that could be heard was his distant scream as it disappeared.

"No!" Billy exclaimed. He made a run for the front entrance, only to find the inside was just as cold and foreboding.

Elliot's yell could be heard distantly, coming from somewhere up above.

As if responding to Touma, Elliot's voice began to project all around the group. Oddly enough, it seemed like he was talking at a whisper and his voice was almost hoarse.

"Our minds are born festering with sin. Some are so blighted, they will never find redemption. The mind must be pulled up from the roots. My children are without blame, without fault and without choice. For what is the value of will when the spirit is found wanting?"

Clark's X-Ray vision allowed him to see a couple of figures walking down the adjacent hall.

They had no way to see as far as Clark could discern, though the shining lights were coming from their open, gaping mouths. They perked up, as if hearing those speaking. They were about to exit the hall and encounter the group.

The figures were alerted to noise long before anyone walked into their view. They came running into the hall, where their lights saw the intense light Gentaro was giving off. The lights they were giving off turned red and the figures began to run away, sirens echoing from their heads.

"They're an alert!" Billy exclaimed.

The siren-headed figures were impervious to all modern forms of weaponry, for the gunfire bounced off them and they still stood after taking rockets. Cullen reached out with his Glartrox tentacles to shade and protect Kite, though even his daggers were not enough to stop the creatures.

However, Clark's immense strength and speed was enough to at least keep the figures from moving, though their shrill cries still echoed throughout the building.

Billy shivered as he heard a cacophony of footfalls coming from deeper within. "Something's coming," he said, as new figures appeared in the hallway, their eyes glowing.

The new enemies fell easily to the might of the group, though they seemed never-ending. Elliot's voice continued to whisper.

"I was raised to rid the world below of sodom, but my mind grew foggier day by day. A question occurred to me: Why does there exist an infinite amount of worlds where I am leashed? Is that my destiny? Even in the worlds where the leash is removed, am I... as obedient as ever?"

Billy felt renewed energy the more the fight went on. "Revan's grip on this loop is waning!" he announced. "Keep fighting and I'll... use the Demiurge's power to get us to Elliot!"

Emily had a bad feeling the moment Elliot tried to touch that 'tear', and thus, shouted out to him, attempting to warn him.

"Elliot! Don't! It-..." But by then it was too late.

They were suddenly transported to another place, so similar to the other one they had left. And then... She heard Elliot.

At first, she focused her attention on the creature that they ran into, even as it summoned an endless amount of backup. But, it wasn't long after, when she listened to Elliot's whispers, about is life... About his obedience.

Though she had been using her stone power sparingly, to strike down enemies about these words,

"Elliot... No matter what you think of yourself, you don't have to remain obedient. Think for yourself! About what you want!" She shouted.

An immense amount of stone magic swirled around her body, as she used her walking stick as a conduit, remembering that moment in Cielis, where she had used all her strength to wipe out a swarm of enemies.

"If freedom is not something you are born with... You can still fight! Fight until you win! No-one deserves to remain shackled by the will of others!!!"

With enough power to push herself into the atmosphere and into the stars, almost as if her very magic itself was bolstered by her own boiling emotions, she unleashed all the stone magic she could at once, creating a wavelike burst of magenta light, in an effort to practically desintegrate the enemies coming her way, and twisting its way around any allies she had.

Unlike at Cielis, it was Emily in control this time, and she would not forget who her friends were, even while using her powers to their fullest.​

Before the group stood Elliot, looking as he did when he accompanied them. "You..." he muttered, moving toward the group. Every stop he took, Elliot changed. With one step, he was old and wizened, after another he was young and barely a man, another he was just a boy, another he was a woman, another he was himself again but hardened and tired.

Elliot glared at Nathan, reaching out to take the other boy by the throat. "You were that uppity boy, the one who kept annoying the hell out of me!"

Emily wiped beads of sweat from her forehead once more, as she struggled to keep going, to keep fighting even against insurmountable odds.

'Help Elliot, break the loop, save the multiverse.'

She kept repeating that in her head, over and over, until the moment Billy let out that shout, and she found herself in a different place; she was ontop of yet another building she didn't recognize, the skies dark, desolate. Whatever had happened here, it was evident a battle had taken place some time before.

And then, she saw Elliot, changing with every step he took, until he reached Nathan, returning to the form she recognized the most; the one which he would likely have turned out as with all she knew of him.

But it was only when he grasped Nathan by the throat, that Emily snapped out of her momentary stupor, calling out to him.

"Elliot! You remember now, don't you? You saved him, risking your own life. Is this really what you want?" She asked him.

Emily sounded alot less desperate than she did before. Now, she took on a tone that more closely resembled a stern mother, or perhaps an older sibling that was trying to set things right. Even though she was younger than him herself, it seemed she intended to bring Elliot back to his senses, somehow.​

Nathan fired into the seemingly endless crowd of strange men, relief rushing over as Billy transported them- a feeling that was short-lived.

His eyes widened as Elliot approached them, his form twisting and mutating as he walked.

Then, a familiar face- the cold piercing eyes Nathan once knew felt like daggers as they met his eyes.

"Elliot-" Nathan started but was cut off by a hand gripped firmly around his throat, choking him. He let out a strained gag, digging his nails into the other man's wrist.

Elliot didn't acknowledge what Emily said beyond his eyes flicking toward her. He didn't waver, even as Nathan gripped at his wrist. His grip on Nathan's throat did let up slightly, as to not kill him, but it could just as easily turn to that.

"What I want has never really mattered," he said.

"I don't really understand what you're going through," Billy said. He had an arm raised, ready to intervene. "Though, I do know there's a better way than this."

Bridgette looked at Elliot with a hard gaze and a stony expression. "What others have done to you doesn't define you, Elliot."

"I now can see... all of me. Does a capacity for good matter if there is also a capacity for evil?"

Gentaro attempted to seperate Elliot and Nathan, acting as a barrier between the two quarreling boys.

“It matters, Elliot! You can choose to be good! I have faith in you! I saw the humanity in your eyes on the blimp, when you were talking about Paris! When you hugged Emily for saving you! Snap out of this!” Gentaro said, attempting to talk Elliot out of attacking Nathan.​

"What the fuck?" So, had it been Comstock? Or had Elliot just always been an angsty little bitch like this. "We can talk this over without killing people, edgelord." If Gentaro couldn't keep them apart, Jianyu would attempt to use Psycho Power to move Elliot's fingers off Nathan's throat. "But if you want an answer, see my powers? They feed off negativity. The assholes who had the same powers and who gave them to me were evil, but I'm not. I'm just a bitch. Maybe you can be the same?"

"Elliot...! I can't pretend to know your circumstances, or even what the other versions of you all have to go through, but... You're here now, aren't you?! Living and breathing, able to make a choice for yourself, right?!" He exclaimed, attempting to reason with Elliot as best as he could, all things considered. "But you've already seen that whatever fate you think you're bound to, just because some faceless cosmos would show you, doesn't mean it's the way you have to be! Where did it say in your fate that you'd meet friends from different worlds who remember you, want to protect you?! It didn't, did it?! But it happened all the same!" He exclaimed, referring mostly to Emily and Nathan, but didn't dare interfere, knowing that Elliot could likely kill Nathan if he made the wrong move or said the wrong thing here.

"That same damn fate wants to erase your memory of them, but you remembered them, didn't you?! Your mind might have forgotten, but your heart didn't! Take it from them if not me, you don't have to obey anyone!! Your life is your own! But you have to be the one to accept the pain that comes with living, and choose to hope that tomorrow will be better! It's what we all, as people, have to contend with!" He went on. Touma knew this sort of hardship. The way Elliot struggled to remember Nathan and Emily. It was a fleeting observation, but it was enough to remind him of Index, and the heartbreak that Stiyl and Kanzaki endured when they'd have to take away their dear friend's memory. It was a recurring tragedy, a long defeat, but it was not an end Touma intended anyone to meet if he could help it.

That's why he was here, after all.

To save people.

Not because he was a hero. He wasn't.

He was just a normal high school boy, the kind you could find anywhere.

His fist trembled, knowing this was not something he could punch his way through. Though it seemed the others' words weren't reaching Elliot immediately, the boy dared to press on. "It's exactly because people can be evil that makes it important that people can be good! Everyone in the world, whether they realize it or not, will look at themselves and decide if they will choose to be good, or to be bad, and sometimes, the line isn't so easy to make out, but it's exactly because of our ability to be good is reached only by the active rejection of the ability to be evil!"

Shaking his head, he continued, threatening to run out of breath. "Your feelings now are proof that something went wrong once upon a time, and that maybe it was out of your control. Even if no one ever taught you that you are worth loving, that you have any worth at all, simply because you exist, it's never too late to learn how to love others, to love yourself! Even if it takes much, much longer than you can bear, it's my choice to believe that good person in you can be reached! The person who was abandoned before you were even born!!"

Emily locked eyes with Nathan for a moment, not saying anything, but... Instead, mouthing something along the lines of 'just hold on a little longer'.

While she was tempted to use her stone powers to help seperate the two, deep down, she had her doubts that in of itself wouldn't change Elliot's perspective. Instead, she went with a different approach.

"What you want does matter! Even if you have a capacity for evil, there's a way to fight against it! A way to become who you truly want!" She said, starting to shout again.

"Do you remember when we talked about my stone?! How I feared it's power, because I was afraid it would make me do terrible things?! Well... I was wrong! You can use that kind of power, you can fight against the voice that seeks to control you, and you can win!"

Emily smiled, even as her stone's light seemed to subside, alongside that faint, magenta glow in her irises. She remembered what happened that caused the sudden turning point in her power, the moment she returned to her human form. It wasn't just her potential as a stonekeeper that made it happen, far from it; it was her firm belief in the person she wanted to believe... And the friends who would stand by her side.

"No matter what, you can still believe in the person you want to be. And, we'll be with you, every step of the way. Even after you've become who you want to be!"

She was a little quieter than before, but somehow, still confident as she eyed Nathan for a moment.

"Now, I ask you this; what kind of person do you want to be?"

In that moment, it seemed Emily had let her guard down completely, smiling as she dropped her walking stick to the ground, letting him decide for himself what he wished to become from this point on.

Deep down, she hoped he would be different than the person who had done all she had been shown. But of course, it was not up to her to choose for him, for that was the error too many made.​

A tear appeared around Elliot and Nathan that swallowed Gentaro as he came near, dispensing him a few feet away. Elliot then glared at Jianyu and she felt a force constricting her body and powers. He allowed her to speak though, mulling over the words.

"Just a bitch, huh?" he said, eyeing Jianyu. "You all practically kidnapped me. Maybe it's useless to be having this conversation with the likes of you."

As Touma began to speak, Elliot only listened. His grip on Nathan's neck lessened slightly as Touma's monologue continued and Elliot considered his words. "You... Tch--" He looked away from Nathan. "What does it say about me that I am capable of horrible acts of evil? There are so many realities where I--"

Elliot let out a pained cry, having not noticed Nathan lashing back at him. He stumbled backward, looking surprised at first. As blood dripped down his face though, he let out a hoarse cry between gritted teeth. "Believe in the person I want to be?!" he exclaimed, echoing Emily's words. "I can't possibly believe in anything! All these voices, all these realities... They are screaming! Versions of me in pain. Versions of me who gleefully hurt others. Versions of me who regret what they have done but can do nothing about it!"

The boy let out a sob, slowly sinking to his knees. "Please kill me. Silence one of the screaming voices. You see... I am all of me. Male. Female. Good. Evil. Old. Young. It's all me."

"That's exactly our point," Billy said. "We have a choice to see the good or the bad. Emily and Nathan clearly choose to see the good, so we can too."

A tear appeared around Elliot and Nathan that swallowed Gentaro as he came near, dispensing him a few feet away. Elliot then glared at Jianyu and she felt a force constricting her body and powers. He allowed her to speak though, mulling over the words.

"Just a bitch, huh?" he said, eyeing Jianyu. "You all practically kidnapped me. Maybe it's useless to be having this conversation with the likes of you."

As Touma began to speak, Elliot only listened. His grip on Nathan's neck lessened slightly as Touma's monologue continued and Elliot considered his words. "You... Tch--" He looked away from Nathan. "What does it say about me that I am capable of horrible acts of evil? There are so many realities where I--"

Elliot let out a pained cry, having not noticed Nathan lashing back at him. He stumbled backward, looking surprised at first. As blood dripped down his face though, he let out a hoarse cry between gritted teeth. "Believe in the person I want to be?!" he exclaimed, echoing Emily's words. "I can't possibly believe in anything! All these voices, all these realities... They are screaming! Version of me in pain. Versions of me who gleefully hurt others. Versions of me who regret what they have done but can do nothing about it!"

The boy let out a sob, slowly sinking to his knees. "Please kill me. Silence one of the screaming voices. You see... I am all of me. Male. Female. Good. Evil. Old. Young. It's all me."

"That's exactly our point," Billy said. "We have a choice to see the good or the bad. Emily and Nathan clearly choose to see the good, so we can too."

Emily shook her head, the smile never leaving her face as she stood there, still evidently leaving herself open for any kind of retaliation. Firmly holding onto her beliefs, even if it meant putting herself at risk.

"No. I won't kill you. Even as you are now, I know you can overcome it! You don't have to listen to all of those voices! Just the one that matters; the one you are speaking right now!" She said.

There was a pause for a moment as she considered how to elaborate, realizing some of her words could easily be misconstrued.

"Deep down, don't you want to change all of this? Isn't there a place you wanted to go?" She asked.

Of course, even she hadn't realized it when she first saw Elliot in this place, but then... On the airship, it became clear to her; once upon a time, he had wished to see the world. And perhaps that was what convinced her above all, that there was something he almost always wished for at one point in life, a time when he was pure, innocent so to speak.

It was the very image she would cling to, in hopes of bringing him back to his senses.​

"It hurts knowing... so much." He sighed, looking up at Emily. "..."

Elliot took Bridgette's hand and got to to his feet. He began to walk toward Nathan, though he looked different again. He was changed, looking like the bright young man everyone had met on the docks who just wanted to go to Paris.

Upon reaching Nathan, Elliot looked into his eyes. "I'm sorry." Then, suddenly, Elliot flinched as if receiving a sharp pain. "I-I'm in control, I'm--" He groaned, looking back at Nathan. "Nathan...?"

Elliot fainted into Nathan's arms.

"Does that mean this is all over?" Cullen asked. He gestured to Jianyu. "He seemed pretty in control of himself in order to freeze her up."

"Of course not, you fools."

Blinking into view as if coming into existence itself was a masked, bald man. Lightning flashed and thunder crescendoed with his arrival. He breathed heavily through his mask, his bulging muscles giving off intimidating vibes.

"Come, don't you know I'm in charge?"

"Comstock?!" Cullen questioned.

Billy shook his head. "This guy's not a part of the loop! He's... guarding it!"

Jianyu stuck her tongue out at Cullen, though there was no malice in it. There was, however, malice as their new friend revealed himself. "What did I say?! What did I fucking say?!" She was like half right, but at least she wasn't totally wrong! Okay, fuck, this guy could probably break her in half if she didn't play it smart...uhhhhhh...okay! Machete in hand, Jianyu whipped it forward, using it as a baton to send bursts of Psycho Power flying towards their new foe, manifesting it as if it were a projectile!
