While after 23 yrs of rping at various sites around the net from the old DOS Gateway days till today I have never encountered such a problem getting cleared to play. After all the point of the site is for role playing is it not? Forums are fine, intros are fine, OOC chat is really not my thing...
Godmoding and force-posting really make it a fail for me. As much as I hate one liners they are better than having someone write your characters actions and outcomes for you.
Magic, hands down. Weapons are okay, however magic can be one or make one.
For me there is so much more opportunity to embellish and paint an image with my words with magic.
Smaller groups of 3-6 core players are easier to keep track of and be sure to include. Once it gets larger than that it is liable to break up into groups. Which is fine when there are multiple time zones, play times and twists. Simultaneous plots can also help when playing in larger groups. But...
All great advice given above. I can only add have fun. Write in the areas that catch your fancy. Write with people who can inspire you. And never compare yourself to others in a way that you're overly critical of your skills.
